Slight update on the post from a few days ago! Primarily changed the Side Deck to actually have thought put into it, but first thing's first:
Having a Kaiju I can summon and banish off Allure, as previously mentioned, is good for the Main Deck. Previously I mentioned Purple Poison being the fortieth card and, despite some utility it has, I feel Triple Tactics Talent is more important as a midrange Main Deck card. I also cut the second Performapal Celestial Magician for it.
I put a second Beyond the Pendulum in the Extra Deck, both to account for Kashtira (for those unaware, that archetype is able to look at the opponent's ED and banish a card from it) and because it's just good to be able to use it a second time. I had room and this seemed like the best filler.
What I spent the majority of my time thinking about is what the board plan for Games 2 and 3 is, both for going first and second. Deciding what I could realistically use, what I need (looking at you Cosmic Cyclone, I absolutely fold to Anti-Spell Fragrance and need a chainable out), and ratios on what to switch in and out. The big thing I thought about is what I would side in knowing I'm going first, and I decided on 2x Triple Tactics Thrust + 1x Appointer of the Red Lotus since hand knowledge is so ludicrously impactful (Appointer allows you to look at the opponent's hand and banish a card from it until their next End Phase). I would swap out 1x Triple Tactics Talent and 2x Radian. For going second, it would depend on what my opponent's on, but I would almost universally bring in Cosmic since ASF is so common and I lose so badly to it. It would likely be 3x Cosmic, then some combo of 2x Thrust + any of the three 1x board breakers (between Thrust and Appointer in the Side Deck) and/or 3x Evenly and/or 3x Nibiru. I would swap out 3x Allure, 1/2x Talent, and/or possibly 2x Radian if I don't feel it'll be super helpful. I could also shave White Wing Magician, Tuning Magician, a Duelist Alliance, a Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and/or an Oafdragon Magician if I really need to bring in more board breakers.
It's so difficult to allocate space for non-engine (i.e. staple cards that are used for generic purposes, such as clearing the opponent's board, that otherwise don't usually help your archetypal gameplan) in this deck since nothing starts combos on its own and needs other cards to accomplish anything. A critical mass of Pendulum monsters or ways to reach them is necessary. This means many otherwise sound deckbuilding theories just don't apply, and as a result the deck is more fragile. Talents is a calculated risk especially since the +1 on card advantage is insane if the opponent uses Ash Blossom or something similar but otherwise lowers the ceiling of the turn immensely if it rots in my hand.
Spent so long trying to find funny tech cards or neat ED monsters and all of them just ended with the conclusion of "at best this is slightly better than what I normally do but otherwise wastes space or actively increases my chances of not having plays". Non-zero chance I find something else to try in the future, though.

never thought i'd see someone who uses pendulum summoning since its usually link and synchro monsters dominating the meta in duel links and master duel
duel links uses speed duel rules right, never got the hang of it, never liked the limited monster zones nor the cards I could use
if you'd be able to create a full deck of 40 cards, what monsters would you add in?
Pendulum summoning is fun tho real hahaha not that I play rank much really, just when there's a mission for it lmfao, sometimes I'd just play casual pvp, rank no matter what game stresses me out. But yeah I get the meta, cause I watched some replays of like legendary ranked players and back then it's like, 107: Galaxy Eyes Tachyon Dragon lmfao that mfer was insane.
Legitimately I don't understand Link summoning idk it's just a bit confusing for me.
Synchro summoning tho, back then when I was just starting, my ace was Draco Berserker of Tenyi, bc his effect was broken as shit, the thing abt him he's like,, a glass cannon, his 3000 atk plus w his effect how he can gain the attack of effect monsters he defeats is insane, but one effect that can put him in defence position before he could attack would be the death of him legit
But yeah, I get the speed duel rules that's why I was kinda hesitant to use pendulum summoning when I started, but then the Arc V characs have skills that let them add pendulum zones so I won't have to waste two slots on my spell/trap zone for the pendulum scales
At this point tho I really got so used to the speed duel rules lmfao
That reminds me tho, since me and my friend Altair once played yugioh online together, I have to make a better deck cbdmdn they use this dope ass Magician deck and honestly bodied me so hard that seeing those damn Magicians scare me now hahah :'D but then again, my deck during that was full of random monsters that don't sync together, maybe soon when I do get to make a new and hopefully better deck I can beat them in a duel ;w;
But yeah, I think like the official deck capacity is 40-60 right? For the main deck and up to 15 for the extra deck. I might just stick w 40 cards more or less cause I think it'd be easier to get the cards I do need
Idk what cards I'd add more, but like, yeah for monster cards I'd keep most in my deck, under the cut bc I think this is gonna be long lmfaooo

~~
Idk if that got to 40, but I might have to,, revise that too, so I'd just have like,, monsters that'd I'd actually use, but that's the concept I have for a standard deck for the meantime.
I might have to reduce the number of Performapal monsters too, plus, I don't have a fixed amount of how many of some cards I'd have, I'd have to redo that soon, but yeah that's the gist of it for now hahaha
#i think id mostly keep the odd eyes monsters the same#the magician ones too#id probs just choose over the performapals again cause theres a ton of em lmfao#but anyways yeah hahah#an ask and an answer#anon

@raidraptor-strawberry-falcon no problem! Hope the Ai is funny!
So basically, I go first (no attacking) and start off with 4 cards.
1. Xiangke Magician - Scale 3, Level 7, 2500 Attack, 500 defense.
2. Performapal Secondonkey - no scale, level 4, 2000 defense, 1000 attack.
3. Timegazer Magician - Scale 8, level 3, attack whatever, def whatever.
4. Performapal Skullcrobat Joker - Scale 8, level 3, attack 1800, defense 100.
Now, you may be wondering: Why is timegazer magician scale 4 here? That’s because timegazer has a caveat. If the other scale is not a magician, it drops to 4.
The Optimal Play.
1. Scale Timegazer.
2. Scale Xiangke.
3. Normal Summon Skullcrobat Joker. Use PSJ’s effect to grab either Odd Eyes or my second Xiangke Magician.
4. Pendulum Summon Secondonkey and Odd Eyes/Xiangke Magician.
5.Use Secondonkey’s ability to grab another PSJ for turn 3.
6. Overlay Secondonkey and Skullcrobat Joker into Dark Rebellion.
7. You can now summon every monster in the deck and have 2! 2500 attack 2000 defense beaters. If this were Yuya, we’d have a Raging Dragon already.
The AI Galaxy Brain Play.
1. Scale Timegazer.
2. Scale PSJ??? Timegazer is now scale 4????
Side note: if there weren't a caveat, we'd have 2 8s baby.
3. Pendulum Summon Xiangke Magician because it’s above 4????
4. Set Secondonkey???? Face down monsters don’t have effects so the search is wasted????
5. Instead of 2 2.5k beaters with Secondonkey Tier def we have (1) with 500 def and wasted a search????
6. Profit????
The AI has the biggest possible brain. This is turn 3 btw. I'll let you connect the dots. Here's a clue, the secondonkey was FACE DOWN.

TCG’s October 1st, 2021 list is here:
Moved down the list:
From Limited to Semi-Limited:
Danger! Nessie!
Performapal Skullcrobat Joker
Emergency Teleport
From Semi-Limited to Unlimited:
Double Iris Magician
Moved up the list:
From Limited to Forbidden:
Zoodiac Barrage
From Unlimited to Limited:
Eva
Prank-Kids Meow-Meow-Mu
Fire Formation – Tenki
******
Double-Iris Magician is most surprising thing here, as it remains Limited in Ocg. Eva and Meow-Meow-Nu are here because people are still abusing Link-1s I guess.
Rest are mostly consistent with OCG changes.

Acrobatic Magician ———————————————— When a monster(s) you control is destroyed by a card effect (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your Pendulum Zone. You can only use this effect of "Acrobatic Magician" once per turn. ———————————————— If the activation of a Spell/Trap Card is negated (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is destroyed by battle: You can place this card in your Pendulum Zone. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: The Dark Illusion (TDIL-EN009)
Pendulum Monsters are quite unique cards due their ability to act as either Spell or Monster cards depending of their position on the field. As a Spell Card in their Pendulum Zones not only will provide particular effects, but also Scales to summon their own kind and other monsters that can meet their requeriments. As a Monster they might not be that different until are retired from the field, ending in the Extra Deck so Pendulum Summons can bring them back in future turns. While this last mechanic got weakened by the addition of the Extra Monster Zone, the fact that we can constantly bring back Pendulum Monsters turn after turn makes them a strong system that gets stronger as the Duel progresses.
"Acrobatic Magician" is a creature that constantly changes roles when our field and setups are on danger, having different purposes while under pressure. If in the Pendulum Zone "Acrobatic Magician" can summon itself in response of atleast one of our monsters being destroyed by an effect (Except those in Damage Step). As a monster it can summon itself from our hand in response of a Spell or Trap being negated, but if already on the field it can be placed in our Pendulum Zone if is about to be destroyed in battle. Overall, "Acrobatic Magician" keeps changing places on the board to make a very rough monster to get rid of, and even if the opponent manages to bypass its abilities thanks to its position as a Pendulum Monster it won't be late to return and keep its perpetual field pressence.
"Acrobatic Magician" is in a great position to become available as soon as possible, not only due its own Special Summon but also the variety of supporting effects that will assist it. Effects like "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" and "Performapal Hansome Liger" will look for "Acrobatic Magician" to be added in our hand, either to be Pendulum Summoned or prepare its own effect once we negate an opponent's card by options such as "Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring" or "Yashiki Warashi" among several others. Clearly part of the Pendulum Magician archetype "Acrobatic Magician" gains furhter methods to become available as soon as possible, ranging from searching effects like "Pendulum Call" and "Performapal Skullcrobat Joker" to the ability of "Wisdom-Eyes Magician" to replace himself from our Pendulum Zone. No matter which approach we take, soon enough "Acrobatic Magician" will keep summoning itself or come back with the help of other Pendulum Monsters' Scales in case the opponent goes arround its abilities.
Although with a severe lack of ATK, "Acrobatic Magician" is an interesting monster to work along with. While we can simply Special Summon it by Pendulum Summon in early game, we can keep it at hand to work either along our negation tools and/or in response of the opponent negating our own cards to take a defensive position immediately. Thanks to its low Scale "Acrobatic Magician" is a solid choice to Pendulum Summon as many monsters as possible, and once the opponent tries to ruin our board it will come as a monster to protect us with its respectable DEF. This is specially the case given the fact that instead of going to the Extra Deck after being destroyed in battle it will go to a Pendulum Zone, resuming our Pendulum Summons and/or once again become a monster in the next turns. Its Pendulum effect will also trigger by our own effects, so if we work along cards like "Torrential Tribute" or a card like "Call of the Haunted" is removed we can respond with the arrival of "Acrobatic Magician" to one of our Monster Zones. With the constant back and forth of these effects and the mechanics of Pendulum Monsters, "Acrobatic Magician" can easily become an always available material as long we can Pendulum Summon it afterwards to resume its cycling effects.
While not one of the best Pendulum Monsters out there, the constant pressence of "Acrobatic Magician" is pretty much assured. Right from our first turn "Acrobatic Magician" can go to our Pendulum Zone to provide its low Scale, as otherwise can stay behind and wait for a negation effect to land on our board in response. Although its effects could become dependant of the opponent's actions to the point that might become situational, "Acrobatic Magician" has a backup plan coming from our own removal and negation cards as well the mere fact is assisted by several cards including Pendulum Summon in case the opponent goes arround its recycling abilities. Might not be a must have for Pendulum Decks, but because the restriction of Pendulum Summons due the Extra Monster Zone makes "Acrobatic Magician" one of those monsters that can become worth to have arround at all times.
Personal Rating: B
+ If a monster is destroyed by an effect it will summon itself from the Pendulum Zone + If destroyed in battle will be placed in the Pendulum Zone + Special Summons itself from the hand if a Spell or Trap is negated + Low Scale + Well supported along Pendulum Summon in case the opponent manages to ignore its effects or is used as material
- Low ATK - Might depend on opponent actions or certain cards to stay efficient

Heavymetalfoes Electrum
Heavymetalfoes Electrum Link Rating 2 FIRE Psychic Link Effect Monster ATK 1800 Links: Bottom Left, Bottom Right Materials: 2 Pendulum Monsters You can only use the 3rd effect of this card’s name once per turn: (1) If this card is Link Summoned: You can place 1 Pendulum Monster from your Main Deck face-up into your Extra Deck (2) Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up card you control, except this card; destroy that card, then, add 1 face-up Pendulum Monster in your Extra Deck to your hand. (3) If a card in your Pendulum Zone leaves the field: Draw 1 card.
This is so so good.
“Pendulum Magicain”s were and are meta right now without this card and with pendulum summoning restricted, so this could easily put them way over the top.
This is a “Metalfoes” card basically in name only. Popping ‘Metalfoes Combination’ to put a “Metalfoes” pendulum monster back into your hand is pretty good, and using the “Metalfoes” effect to pop another “Metalfoes” scale would let you draw a card, this card requiring only 2 Pendulum monsters and having effects that are good in every pendulum deck makes this card really good in “Dinomist”s, “Abyss Actors”, “Zefra”s and “Metalfoes” this makes Pendulum Magicians extremely more consistent and powerful.
With this card, if you open ‘Performapal Skullcrobat Joker’, ‘Wisdom-eye Magician’ and ‘Wavering Eyes’ you can make ‘Shooting Quasar Dragon’ or multiple rank 4 xyz monsters. Such as 2 ‘Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir’ which shuts down most decks turn 1, which unless your opponent has ‘Raigeki’ or ‘Dark Hole’.
This card is extremely good for pendulum decks. It’s easy to summon, It puts cards in the extra deck to pendulum summon. It puts monsters from the extra deck into your hand to pendulum summon them in non-linked zones and it draws cards. This is great support especially for a currently meta deck.
#yugioh#new cards#extremely good#pendulum#pendulum magician#makes good deck better#makes bad decks better#metalfoes had their time in the sun this won't make them meta again

Alright, Idk if my mutuals keep up with the TCG, but the next banlist dropped and Performapal Skullcrobat Joker is finally back at one, which is where it should never move. Same for Salamangreat Miragestallio.
Double Iris Magician is back at 2, not that it matters, because while Pendulum Magicians can make some insane plays, Heavymetalfoes Electrumite isn't getting unbanned anytime soon.
On the plus side, Zoodiac and Guardragon are finally dead, thanks to the banning of Zoodiac Drident and Guardragon Elpy! Not to say Dragon Link is dead, but it can't go off as easy, and that makes me happy.
