Melodious mixing well with Supreme King and Beyond/Exceed the Pendulum mixing well with Performapal/Odd-Eyes/Pendulum Magician (even if just by necessity over being pendulums and needing that monster) just supports my theory that Yuya and Yuzu are Zarc and Ray blatant favorites, even when talking about the others fragments.

Slight update on the post from a few days ago! Primarily changed the Side Deck to actually have thought put into it, but first thing's first:

Having a Kaiju I can summon and banish off Allure, as previously mentioned, is good for the Main Deck. Previously I mentioned Purple Poison being the fortieth card and, despite some utility it has, I feel Triple Tactics Talent is more important as a midrange Main Deck card. I also cut the second Performapal Celestial Magician for it.

I put a second Beyond the Pendulum in the Extra Deck, both to account for Kashtira (for those unaware, that archetype is able to look at the opponent's ED and banish a card from it) and because it's just good to be able to use it a second time. I had room and this seemed like the best filler.

What I spent the majority of my time thinking about is what the board plan for Games 2 and 3 is, both for going first and second. Deciding what I could realistically use, what I need (looking at you Cosmic Cyclone, I absolutely fold to Anti-Spell Fragrance and need a chainable out), and ratios on what to switch in and out. The big thing I thought about is what I would side in knowing I'm going first, and I decided on 2x Triple Tactics Thrust + 1x Appointer of the Red Lotus since hand knowledge is so ludicrously impactful (Appointer allows you to look at the opponent's hand and banish a card from it until their next End Phase). I would swap out 1x Triple Tactics Talent and 2x Radian. For going second, it would depend on what my opponent's on, but I would almost universally bring in Cosmic since ASF is so common and I lose so badly to it. It would likely be 3x Cosmic, then some combo of 2x Thrust + any of the three 1x board breakers (between Thrust and Appointer in the Side Deck) and/or 3x Evenly and/or 3x Nibiru. I would swap out 3x Allure, 1/2x Talent, and/or possibly 2x Radian if I don't feel it'll be super helpful. I could also shave White Wing Magician, Tuning Magician, a Duelist Alliance, a Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and/or an Oafdragon Magician if I really need to bring in more board breakers.

It's so difficult to allocate space for non-engine (i.e. staple cards that are used for generic purposes, such as clearing the opponent's board, that otherwise don't usually help your archetypal gameplan) in this deck since nothing starts combos on its own and needs other cards to accomplish anything. A critical mass of Pendulum monsters or ways to reach them is necessary. This means many otherwise sound deckbuilding theories just don't apply, and as a result the deck is more fragile. Talents is a calculated risk especially since the +1 on card advantage is insane if the opponent uses Ash Blossom or something similar but otherwise lowers the ceiling of the turn immensely if it rots in my hand.

Spent so long trying to find funny tech cards or neat ED monsters and all of them just ended with the conclusion of "at best this is slightly better than what I normally do but otherwise wastes space or actively increases my chances of not having plays". Non-zero chance I find something else to try in the future, though.

I'm still trying to get Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon really god the fucking chances of getting a UR is so shit cjmdnd either I get him through that or through the UR dream ticket but I only have one of those and I also wanna get Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon and both of them are there so I decided to just try and get Arc Pendulum via the boosters and once I get him I'll exchange Odd Eyes Rebellion via the dream ticket

I might have to like,, redo my deck soon once I do get both of those, cause I have a few cards that aren't under the three archetypes above, I just kept them in bc they have dope effects like w Speedroid Passinglider that I can ss when there's no monsters on the field, and even Aether the Evil Empowering Dragon bc it's ability is when I ss it, it can banish one card so it's especially dope when I have that pendulum summoned when the opponent already has their own ss monster, that is ofc if I can pull it off lmfao

Some level four monsters I kept in my deck so I can summon out Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon quick really, since the skill I have for Yuya there is Raging Pendulum, so I really don't need Xiangsheng Magician to summon out Odd Eyes Raging Dragon. Then again, I have like two Odd Eyes Pendulum and one Odd Eyes Dragon, plus Dragoncaller Magician too, so I can XYZ summon one more rank 7 XYZ monster so I can also summon out Odd Eyes Raging for its effect

Anyways yeah sorry I'm rambling ifkdhdk but yeah my ace monster in this deck is Odd Eyes Raging Dragon hahah

This account is slowly becoming my place for dumping YGO thoughts so here I gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Spent some time messing around with my Pendulum Magician list (I have two, one with and without Z-Arc, with this being the latter) and here is where I'm at right now.

Replaced the 2x Lava Golem I had before with Radian since I don't think the extra monster I get rid of is worth losing my Normal Summon because I really want it in this deck with the majority of hands. Radian specifically is the choice since A) it's one of the two Level 7 Kaijus, so I can theoretically Pendulum Summon it if necessary (my highest scale is 8) and use it as material for Absolute, Savage, or a Link and B) it's a DARK so it plays under Gozen if I do need to summon it (the other Level 7 Kaiju is a WIND, for reference).

3x Allure since I have come to the conclusion that Wavering Eyes is mission critical and hands that don't find it feel too low power. Before now I lived with not opening it (I had a 1x Pendulum Call to search off Duelist Alliance for situations like that) but I wanna try digging a little deeper. This is also another purpose for Radian: it's the primo banish off of Allure on Turn 1. Including Radian, there are twenty DARKs in the deck, so Allure ever being dead is super unlikely.

Besides being scales, every individual Magician either serves as part of starting a combo (Wisdom-Eye, Double Iris), extending it (Harmonizing, Oafdragon), or as a search target that serves a very specific purpose (Timegazer so Chronograph can function, White Wing as a Tuner for Harm to search and an extra low scale, Dragonpit as a Level 7 for Harm to search plus MST in the scale if I'm really down bad, and Celestial can potentially lock out the opponent's monster effects if I have a Synchro and is an End Phase search). The fortieth card in the deck is absolutely Purple Poison and I'm considering swapping for an Upstart, but having another name for Harm and an extra low scale is good, plus the effects sometimes come up.

Astrograph and Chronograph are self-explanatory. Joker is obviously a starter and negate bait. Tuning, while certainly functional in the opening hand as a free special, is the main send to GY off Timestar. It fills gaps more than any card in the deck as either a way to convert a Level 7 into a Synchro or just as Link material.

Extra Deck is mostly solid, might want a second Beyond the Pendulum for Kashtira. Enlightenment Paladin is pure favoritism on my part but retrieving a Wavering Eyes mid-combo goes hard, among other things. Bagooska is honestly a flex spot, as is Abyss Dweller depending on the format.

Side Deck could change, just threw in Thrust, some targets, and Nibiru for now. Will probably refine it later. I lose super badly to Droll but there's not much for it beyond opening Called By, unfortunately. The big thing about this deck is that there's no true one card starter. Joker is the closest thing but every single other card requires something else to function. The goal is to make it where that critical mass is as consistent and resilient as possible.

Now that Dennis is in Duel Links, I can finally reveal my collection of Yugioh cards which is every ace card that has an animation (or deserves one imo) for each character in the game currently.

The only cards not included are Embodiment of Apophis, Blue Eyes Alternative Dragon, Number C39: Utopia Ray, and Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray.
