Peacemist: Nicer Post – Inspector Spacetime
A spin-off series, Peacemist: Nicer Post, began airing in 2005. It starred Captain James Haggard (played by Anglo-Irish–American actor Jamie St. John Bamber) and was significantly more family friendly than the contemporary Inspector Spacetime.
Jokingly pitched by the producer as "All Bug-Eyed Creatures Great and Small", the show chronicles the misadventures of Captain James Haggard trying to fit in with the quaint, bucolic Welsh hamlet of Wylf-y-Fwddoch while conducting paranormal investigations on behalf of the Peacemist Institute.
In the premiere episode, Captain Haggard remarks upon his arrival that the organisation has sent him to a "nicer post" than his previous one (i.e. bombed-out postwar Vienna in "The Cambiare Machine").

It was established early on that Captain James frequently sleeps,
even though his transformation scene from Inspector Spacetime seemed to imply he didn’t need to do more than rest every week or so.

The show runner had to include an explanation for why Dr. Singer appeared in the Inspector Spacetime episode ‘The Humans of London’ then turned up in Sydney a year later.
When Peacemist began, Isolde Singer mentioned being transferred to Peacemist Sydney shortly after the incident that brought her into contact with the Ninth Inspector.

Some people (like Peacemist’s Dash Owens) wonder how the Inspector can not be present to prevent disasters from happening on Earth.
‘Sometimes no one can save us from ourselves, not even the Inspector.’

Small Beginnings has put out three audio places in which an unnamed character that is described much like Captain James Haggard appears,
but he isn’t voiced by Jamie Bamber. What’s the deal, Small Beginnings?

Would the show runner have ever explained how Captain James ended up with the identity of a man who didn’t exist yet,
if that fact hadn’t been revealed in the episode ‘Captain James Haggard’?

How many people actually believe that Captain James would have forced Brennan to take the chron-ret pill in ‘Nothing Ever Changes’?

Although Peacemist’s computer system looks like standard 21st-century technology,
it’s actually an highly advanced alien computer from a distant galaxy that has never been named.

It’s rather cool that Captain James Haggard
always wears that uniform no matter when or where he is.

Nobody seems to bat an eyelash at the head of a extra-governmental organisation in Australia speaking like an American,
while people relentlessly tease Brennan for his Perthian roots.

The Ringmaster and his Lovely Assistant in Peacemist’s ‘Into the Sunshine’ were truly creepy,
especially when they were luring innocent victims into their Circus of Horrors, from where the people of Edinburgh never returned.

The Peacemist Institute gets an occasional mention in its parent programme, usually for the Inspector to mention how they’re not solving the problems they were supposed to.
Which he/she might have a point, except that Peacemist is based in Sydney, not London.

Despite the fact that Peacemist was set up to collect and catalogue alien devices found on Earth,
its members seem to see no issue in using said technology for their own ends, sometimes even to resolve an episode’s conflict. (But, usually for personal entertainment.)
