i wanted to show the riddler guys this cool snake I caught during my ecology lab today! she’s a nerodia taxispilota (brown water snake). she got me pretty good, i bit her back for good measure. (not really!)

but yeah, i love your adorable drawings, they make me happy. 😊

Now, you didn't ask for this at all, but when I saw the pic my first instinct was "DEAR LORD PUT IT DOWN"

And I thought,

what would the lil guys do if they came across a snake?

So, this is for me:

Unburied - Absolutely not. He's running. No questions asked.

ZY - He'd play it cool, but as soon as it lunges, he's screaming.

Dano - Now, he's used to so-called "pests", so I would imagine he'd observe with curious interest. All while keeping a respectful distance.

YJ - He's scared, but he's not running. He's gotta stand up for himself against something, right? If given the opportunity, he'd give it a little pet. Just a little one.

Gotham - Oh, he is interested. He'd be like Steve Irwin (rip), it's like he's got a natural affinity for this. When the hell did he learn to handle snakes??

BTAA - Another screamer. He doesn't do snakes.

Arkham - When you live in a literal sewer, you come across all sorts of creatures. Opossums, rats, snakes, so he might just start talking to it? That's what he'd normally do.

BTAS - Another respectful observer. He's not going to pick it up. He's going to let it move on its merry way to its next destination.

Telltale - He's picking it up, and bringing it toward you, "Oh, are you scared? Or are you afraid of what I might encourage within the mind of this snake?" Wtf does that even mean?

swiss army man is theeee autism film like literally rejecting arbitrary social rules that make no sense and being scared that ppl will think you're weird and feeling like you can't really show much about yourself bcuz other ppl won't care but as soon as someone actually supports you and your interests the floodgates open and you get to be yourself without fear of judgement and hank literally prioritized building multiple sets and props and stuff just so he and manny could play out perfect movie fantasies for days (weeks?) over trying to get back to normal society bcuz society doesn't Get them and going back would mean hank can't express himself like he could with manny

god i just want to know edward fr. i think he would be so funny and enthusiastic and creative if he was just shown a bit of acceptance and kindness and given a space to express himself that’s genuinely physically and emotionally safe. i think edward could be so kind and loving if he was shown kindness and love. he’s obviously very sensitive to the world and is naturally curious, driven, intelligent, analytical, etc. and i think these qualities are pushed to the point of obsession and compulsion in large part because he has never had anyone to model emotional understanding and regulation to him because he has fundamentally never received love. he has always had to be his own parent, sibling, friend, protector, comforter, etc. and he’s done an amazing job of it, but when there’s no one else to regulate yourself with you never know what that looks like. the very first pages of riddler year one issue #4 are him as a tiny baby being abandoned, alone and reaching out for someone, and being drugged to sleep and left to cry it out. he has never been special to someone. the orphanage thought he was mute for years because they never bothered to ask him what he wanted or tell him it was okay to express himself. the first time they heard him speak was when thomas wayne showed him the smallest bit of attention and consideration, and he responded to it immediately. all he has ever been told is to shut up, be quiet, stand still, go away, come here, do this, don’t do that, don’t bother anyone. make yourself small. no one cares about you. i just wonder what it would look like if he had even one friend who saw him as a person worth knowing.
