Dracula (2020) 1x02
"Try and stay calm. You're doing very good."
If you're looking for one of those overly intimate whumper's then Dracula fits the bill.
This show has a lot of whump in it, male and female. But WARNING, there is implied sexual assault in the first episode to the main character when he's sleeping. There is another scene implied in this episode as well. Since Dracula does induce hallucination, I'm not exactly sure it physically happens, but here the warning just in case.

Shakespeare & Hathaway gets a surprise series 5
Shakespeare & Hathaway gets a surprise series 5
I had thought Shakespeare & Hathaway was no more, but how wrong I was! After a few years gap, series 5 is filming! Yes, Jo Joyner, Mark Benton and Patrick Walshe McBride reprising their roles as Luella Shakespeare, Frank Hathaway and Sebastian Brudenell. We also learn Shakespeare & Hathaway series four was the BBC’s second biggest daytime series in 2022. Its average audience was 2.3million with…

Hot Pink and Hot Goss
THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford upon Avon, Tuesday 9th July, 2024 Tinuke Craig’s fresh new production of Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s play from 1777 is strikingly pink and pert.  An updated Prologue, delivered with gusto by Lady Sneerwell (Siubhan Harrison, clearly enjoying herself and dressed like a woman smuggling flat-screen TVs) works like a stand-up’s warm-up…

Patriot Games is a more than serviceable thriller, perhaps a bit out of date when viewing it now, but still a very effective good against evil piece. The source material is so dense and intricate it was always going to be hard to condense that into a 2 hour movie, but I feel the makers manage to keep it fleshy whilst making the respective characters interesting and watchable. The acting on show is more than adequate, Harrison Ford is great in the role of Jack Ryan, he manages to portray him as a sensitive family man who can step up to the plate when things get ugly, and Anne Archer is solid enough as the wife and mother caught up in the web of nastiness unfolding. The baddies are led by the brooding Sean Bean who is a little under written, whilst Richard Harris is sadly underused. However, the action set pieces make their mark and thankfully we get a riveting...

dollyjj: That’s a wrap on series 4 of Shakespeare & Hathaway for BBC. A job I love and cherish with the best of people. Wish I could always work with the gorgeous @/benjaminbentone [Mark Benton] - we share the same funny bone, the special human that is Patch Walsh-McBride and the fantastic crew, not least of all the talent that is @/mattsimpsonmakeup. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it. Over and out xx

I’m caught up with Father Brown, Agatha Raisin, Murdoch Mysteries, and The Brokenwood Mysteries. I watched Miss Fisher & the Crypt of Tears. To fill the cozy-mystery-shaped hole in my soul, I’m currently watching Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators. It's a fluffy, low stakes mystery show set in Stratford-upon-Avon. I love the growing sense of family amongst the characters, and it's fun to spot the Shakespeare names, quotes, and allusions. Another aspect my family and I enjoy is What Disguise Sebastian Is Wearing in each episode. Sebastian is a young aspiring actor who works for Shakespeare & Hathaway as receptionist and general dogsbody. He usually wears waistcoats and ascots, which makes the boring disguises more entertaining than they would be on another character. Here he is NOT in disguise:
Tumblr media
Here are his disguises from series one:
Cleaning dude here to disinfect your keyboard.
Tumblr media
Care worker in a care home for the elderly.
Tumblr media
Solicitor here to help you sue your ex-husband.
Tumblr media
Posh twit looking to book his honeymoon with a travel agent.
Tumblr media
Drag queen looking fab in a drag bar.
Tumblr media
Emo teen with a peanut allergy.
Tumblr media
Cook in a restaurant kitchen.
Tumblr media
Server at a Midsummer Night’s Dream-themed party.
Tumblr media
Bonus! Not in costume; he just hadn’t done laundry in a while.
Tumblr media
Sebastian lives above a costume shop and is close friends with the shopkeeper/seamtress who owns it, which makes all of the costumes a little less plot-holey for a small and not very profitable private investigation office. :)

Merrily We Run Around
THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford upon Avon, Thursday 13th June 2024 Unusual among Shakespeare’s plays, this comedy does not concern itself with the ruling class.  The characters are ‘ordinary’ albeit middle-class figures, by and large, with only the knighted John Falstaff representing the upper echelons – and he is lampooned and ill-treated with aplomb.  Is…

If you have a way to watch Shakespeare & Hathaway, I highly recommend it. There is some great writing, and Sebastian is wonderful.
