Otten Cup 2024
Manchester United's U19s finished sixth in the Otten Innovation Cup this weekend - behind winners (and reigning holders) PSV Eindhoven, runners-up Atletico Madrid, RB Bragantino, Benfica, and FC Utrecht - who beat us on penalties in our final match.
United's youngsters went over to PSV's De Herdgang campus in Eindhoven, Netherlands last week to compete in the Otten Innovation Cup, which is a rapid-fire weekend format tournament with some unique rules to test format adjustments.
We've seen from the popularity of the King's League on Twitch, and the frustration with VAR about time to check that people want continuous action and engagement, so testing changes makes sense.
Game 1: United 0-1 Benfica. A tight, very-even game settled by a last-second goal from Francisco Couto. Sucker punch.
Game 2: United 2-0 PSG. Goals from Tyler Fletcher and Zac Baumann gave United their only win of the tournament against the Parisians. PSG weren't useless though; United's ill discipline saw several spells with 10 men due to the sin bin, allowing PSG to dominate possession and create chances they just couldn't finish.
Game 3: PSV 1-0 United. The eventual winners, reigning champs and tournament hosts managed a 1-0 win over United in another close game. Robin van Duiven scored in the 26th minute, finishing a cross from the right wing by Benjamin Khaderi. United were competitive though, with Amir Ibragimov hitting the bar and being saved on several occasions.
Game 4: HM Jeonbuk 1-1 United (1-4 P). United conceded a free kick through sloppy defending 10 minutes in, with Seokjin Han burying his shot expertly. United went on the offensive and Tyler Fletcher bagged his second goal of the tournament five minutes later, evening the tie. Not much else happened for the rest of the game, but United won comfortably on the deciding penalties at the end.
Game 5 - 5th/6th Place Playoff: United 1-1 Utrecht. United started slowly and suffered a few chances before Zois Karargyris tapped home the opener. The first half fizzled out and the second half wasn't much better - even with Utrecht down to 10 men. United won a late (arguably soft) penalty which Gibraltar international James Scanlon scored to take the game to penalties. Unfortunately for United, Tyler Fletcher missed his penalty and led to United losing 3-4 to the Dutch side.

PARIS Saint-Germain fans with a Free Palestine Tifo for their game in the champions league
PSG fans’ ‘Free Palestine’ tifo draws criticism from French minister
The Paris club’s ultras fans unfurl a huge banner in support of Palestine and Lebanon during a Champions League match.
The sprawling tifo – 50 metres wide and 20 metres high, and spread over both tiers of the stands behind the PSG goal – depicted the Palestinian and Lebanese flags with an image of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem at its centre. “War on the pitch, but peace in the world,” a message underneath said. It also showed the historical map of Palestine.
During the match, the fans unrolled another message that read: “Does a child’s life in Gaza mean less than another?” French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau has criticised the unveiling of a giant “Free Palestine” banner by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) football fans before their team’s UEFA Champions League match against Atletico Madrid, saying it is “unacceptable”. The incident came eight days before France hosts Israel in Paris in a UEFA Nations League game

Spain's football star Jenni Hermoso filed a criminal complaint over the unsolicited kiss by federation boss Luis Rubiales after Spain won the Women's World Cup, prosecutors said on Wednesday.
The complaint, which was filed on Tuesday, enables prosecutors to launch a preliminary investigation on possible charges of sexual assault. The complaint will be processed "as soon as possible", the prosecutor added.
The lawsuit could entail criminal charges against Rubiales, in addition to ongoing investigations by Spain's top sports court into "serious misconduct" and an investigation by world football's governing body FIFA, which has provisionally suspended Rubiales.
What happened after World Cup final?
Rubiales grabbed Hermoso's head and kissed her on the lips during the medal ceremony that followed Spain's 1-0 win over England in the final of the Women's World Cup in Australia on August 20.
Hermoso later said the unwanted kiss had left her feeling "vulnerable and like the victim of an assault," with a statement on social media describing it as "an impulsive, macho act, out of place and with no type of consent on my part."
Rubiales, who has so far refused to resign despite heavy pressure, said the kiss was "spontaneous, mutual, euphoric and consensual."
Late last month, the prosecutor for Spain's High Court said Rubiales could face a sexual assault charge, which can carry a prison term of between one and four years, if Hermoso were to file a complaint.
Hermoso now plays for Mexican club Pachuca after a long career with top Spanish and European clubs, including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid.

[ad_1] Pep Guardiola for Manchester City (PC: X) RevSportz Comment This is usually the time of year when Manchester City, under Pep Guardiola’s coaching, make their move. If they haven’t already started the season like a high-speed locomotive, it’s during the crowded fixture list in December-January that City stretch their legs and put distance between themselves and the chasing pack. This year, it couldn’t be more different. Heading into Christmas, City sit in seventh place in the table, 12 points behind Liverpool having played a game more. No one is even mentioning the title any more. With six defeats and a draw in their last eight league matches, City sit rock-bottom of the form table, behind even Southampton, who have taken five points from the last 24 available. Nottingham Forest in fourth are only four points ahead, but the very fact that teams like Forest, Bournemouth (fifth) and Aston Villa (sixth) are ahead of them is a grim reminder of how far City have fallen. Villa’s 2-1 victory over City last weekend was thoroughly merited, with only Phil Foden’s late, late goal giving the illusion of a close game. “We won a lot, it was exceptional, and now we are living the parallel,” said a subdued Guardiola afterwards. “We didn’t expect [it]. I didn’t personally and I don’t know what will be the outcome after that, so life gives you that. We have to deal with it.” The numbers are damning. Only once, in the Covid-impacted 2019-20 season, have City lost more than six league games under Guardiola. On that occasion, they lost nine times, but still finished the season strongly enough to be second with 81 points. Their worst tally in the Guardiola years was 78 in his first season. Just to match that, they would need to win 17 of their last 21 games. They languish in 22nd place in the revamped UEFA Champions League as well, having won only two of six matches. Lose away to equally embattled Paris Saint-Germain in January, and they may not even make the play-offs for a last-16 place. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Pep Guardiola (PC: X) How has it come to this? The injury to Rodri, the Ballon d’Or winner and heartbeat of the midfield, hasn’t helped at all, but there have also been questionable transfer decisions that have come back to bite them. Julian Alvarez, thriving at Atletico Madrid after leaving last summer, was not content to be a perennial understudy to Erling Haaland. Guardiola wasn’t inclined to convince him to stay. With Haaland having misplaced his shooting boots in recent weeks, there simply isn’t another source of goals. Even more mystifying was the decision to sell Cole Palmer to Chelsea at the start of last season. Kevin de Bruyne’s fitness has been up and down for several years now, and Palmer, who has proved himself to be a generational talent both with Chelsea and England, was the obvious successor in that creative role. De Bruyne played just 18 league games last season, and has missed seven already this campaign. With Rodri holding fort, and Foden having a stellar season, City could tide over his absence last term. This season, with de Bruyne out and Foden looking exhausted and bereft of inspiration, the creative spark simply isn’t there. Ilkay Gundogan, a surprise returnee from Barcelona, no longer has the legs to play in a three-man midfield, and the likes of Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish have also been way off the pace. Kyle Walker, another stalwart, has been an accident waiting to happen at right-back, while Ederson has made expensive mistakes in goal. Whatever could go wrong has for City, and it now needs to be seen if Guardiola, who extended his contract just before this horror run, has the appetite to fix it. He turns 54 in January and has been operating at the highest level, as a coach, for nearly 17 years. One of those who greatly influenced Guardiola and the current generation of coaches, Arrigo Sacchi, was effectively done by the age of 52. A decade after scaling the heights with an all-time-great
AC Milan side, Sacchi quit the Atletico Madrid job in February 1999 just eight months into a long-term contract. “I’m exhausted, which is why I’ve taken the decision,” he said back then. “Today I’m quitting football. I haven’t anything else to say.” He resurfaced at Parma two years later, but resigned just three games in, citing stress. He hasn’t managed since. Few would wish such a fate on Guardiola, but as the losses mount and the questions multiply, the time to find answers is running out. Also Read: A Mourinho Touch in Crespo’s Calculated Move? "It's not time to care about the contract"
There were also questions about Son's contract. "He is in the last season of his contract. 다파벳슬롯 I wonder how important Son is and if he wants to leave him in the team for the long term," Postecoglou said. "I only care about Sunday (against Chelsea). I can't care about players' contracts. I can't care about their situation either. All I care about is Sunday's game, and I want to go out and see if there are any players ready to fight on Sunday." Son Heung-min's contract with Tottenham expires after this season. Tottenham has a 넥스트벳우회주소 one-year extension option to extend its contract until next season, but it has not yet been activated. Rumors of a transfer have been raised continuously. Since last season, he has been linked to the Saudi Arabian League, Atletico Madrid, and Fenerbahce, and recently, he has been mentioned to transfer to Galatasaray and Paris Saint-Germain. Manchester United was on top of that. "In the past, Manchester United has been 메이저사이트 criticized for recruiting players who are close to retirement," the British media Give Me Sports said on Sunday. "Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Manchester United at the age of 35 and stayed for 20 months, while Edinson Cavani was 33 when he left PSG for Manchester United. The most famous example is Manchester United's re-recruitment of 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo in 2021," he said, highlighting Manchester United's past moves in the transfer market. He also pointed out the tendency to recruit players who are nearing retirement as they reach their mid-30s.

If Tottenham leaves, will it be a big club-K League? Attention will be focused on the future course of action
Big clubs were also a must. It started with Atletico Madrid. He insisted on contacting Son and Atletico de Janeiro in the Spanish club "Todo Pichaese," 넥스트벳가입 where public confidence is relatively low. Soon after, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Barcelona were named. Barcelona also mentioned specific plans to recruit Son. The Spanish club El Goldie Hidal said it is agonizing over releasing Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres simultaneously for Son. Son Heung-min is under management due to his hamstring injury, but this season is still Tottenham's core. 다파벳가입 Indeed, if he leaves Tottenham in the summer of 2025 or 2026 as a free agent, it is an attractive enough resource for big clubs. This is why we cannot ignore the rumor of his transfer to Barcelona and PSG. Not immediately, but the K-League can also be an option. When Son Heung-min visited Korea with Tottenham in July, he had already expressed his thoughts on the 메이저사이트 K-League. Asked about his advance to the K-League before retirement, Son said, "It's always in my head," leaving open the possibility, "I have nothing to say right now because I don't know what will happen." The K League 1 successfully attracted a lot of attention as Jesse Lingard moved to FC Seoul this season. It has set a new record of 2.58,585 spectators in a single season. It is not easy to predict the ripple effect of Son that will surpass Lingard. Son may also have an opportunity to play while receiving support from Korean fans who have shown consistent affection for him.

Son Heung-min can't go to Barcelona after all...
At the end of this season, Son Heung-min's contract with Tottenham Hotspur expires, 다파벳슬롯 and he has already been embroiled in a number of transfer rumors since last season. It has been connected to the Saudi Arabian Professional League (SPL), Atletico Madrid, and Fenerbahce, and recently Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have been mentioned. Rumors of a move to Barcelona were particularly surprising. "Due to financial difficulties, 넥스트벳우회주소 Barcelona had to rely on players from La Masia (Barcelona Youth) or free agents," Spain's El Nacional said in October, reporting that Barcelona is interested in Son Heung-min. The media went on to say, "Chairman Juan Laporta and Detu director will try to maintain this recruitment stance. Han Ji-flick is also monitoring the situation of several FA players. One of the players receiving the 메이저사이트 most attention is Son Heung-min. Son Heung-min seems very likely not to renew his contract with Tottenham," and cited the fact that Son Heung-min does not win a championship, saying that it is an attractive option because he has a high probability of winning a championship in Barcelona.
