Prompt 153
Pariah Dark, Ghost King, warrior, tyrant, world-breaker, Ancient of Darkness, is utterly gobsmacked. The sarcophagus had been opened- something he wasn’t honestly expecting seeing as it was supposed to be for eternity- and he had honestly just been blinking awake. It took a minute or few to properly wake up, but who could blame him? It wasn’t like there was anyone before him who could have opened his prison.
Though that wasn’t what had him utterly befuddled. He was rather certain that he had not gotten locked into the Sarcophagus of Sleep with several literal ghost infants.
Well mostly infants, one is more like the equivalent of a three or four year old but still. And he has a rather panicked sort of feeling breaking through his usual bloodlust, because they all look really similar to his not-exactly ex. Same white hair, same wispy ghost-tail, same tiny fangs and claws currently being bared at him and each other. But they also kind of look like him, what with two having hair aflame- one even had black hair like he once did before his insanity- and even having red eyes. Most even had his own corpse-pale skin, though he could see a more blue tint on a couple and one more similar to his brother’s.
So yes, Pariah Dark is very much panicking and trying to do the math in his head. A visit to Clockwork might be in his best interest…

Random Dc x dp idea 2
I love when the justice league finds out about the GIW or how Danny gets bombed with the news he is ghost king so why not mash them together.
Imagine a ghost council warning Danny that if the GIW/Fenton parents continue experiments the infinite realm will start an inter-dimensional war. Danny and crew are obviously freaking out. Working their butts of freeing ghosts from labs and getting them back in the zone.
Then the GIW catch cujo and instead of going to labs located near amity they go to a newly built lab. One that’s in a city with known dc hero’s such as gotham. So off Danny went to free cujo.
Danny would have to sneak in human with all the ecto detection and anti ecto weapons. The bats are suspicious of this new building. Perhaps seeing medical equipment or other nefarious items being brought in. So when they see a child geared up sneaking into said facility they intervene.
The bathfam wasn’t expecting the kid to be unstrapping a glowing green dog from a table guys in white knocked out unconscious. Danny clutching cujo in one arm is like hey I’m just trying to stop an inter-dimensional war.
He ends up in the watchtower. Constantine and any magic users are freaking out and confused. You just don’t mess with the infinite realm the ghost king wasn’t merciful. Danny is just going off about the laws and ends up emptying his backpack and out comes the ring of rage and crown of fire. Constantine just stares at them then Danny and just asks how. Danny shrugs and says that clockworth said they were his problem cause he lead the attack on pariah that ended with him locked in the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep.
Danny grabs the notebook he was looking for and keeps going with his rant now citing different labs and attacks the GIW have done and the anti ecto laws. Constantine interrupts and just starts talking about the right of conquest. Danny and him just argue cause as far as Danny cares he did not defeat him he sealed him away.
After bickering and going back and forth he only stops when an observant makes an appearance stating he is indeed the king hence why he was informed the council was considering war. Danny just has a surprised pikachu face.

Almanac - Chapter 3
Been a while since I uploaded something. Had some real busy weeks, got sick on top, just all sorts of annoyances. Tbh this has been done for a while but I was contemplating where to split this chapter, and finally decided here, which means it was done.
Ship: Dead on Main (Danny/Jason) First | Masterlist
Chapter 3 - 12th October, Full Hunter’s Moon
Danny was still angry and frustrated at what the Justice League had made him do, when they could have just asked Phantom, but now at least he was calm, centered.
He breathed in deep, tasting the ectoplasm, not with lungs or tastebuds but with his core. It was quite amazing what a week of intense meditation could do for the Realms. It made him feel a bit guilty that he’d prioritized living over his duties so much, but well, for the foreseeable future he would have plenty of time to play king.
The millennia of stagnation from Pariah’s imprisonment and the time before that of Pariah’s betrayal when the power had gone to his head, had not done great things for the health of the realms. Danny was slowly but steadily changing that.
It was certainly easier to focus on than the fact that he had been summoned as the freaking Ghost King to do something he’d been on the way to deal with, locking him into a deal. He hadn’t had the heart to tell them he’d already been on the way there.
If only they had been a little bit less desperate - a little slower in their setup, all this could have been avoided.
All this power - he breathed in - the Realms’ energy, his to command and shape, infinite, still heavy with Pariah’s madness, but getting better, more colorful, lighter the more he channeled it through his core. All this power and yet, or rather because of that, he was bound by rules.
There were laws governing creatures such as him, such as Clockwork and Pandora: Ancients. Danny chuckled, it was still ridiculous to think of himself as such, he was after all only seven years dead. But as Clockwork said it wasn’t so much a matter of time as it was a matter of power.
Danny had already been powerful. Halfas, because of their still living nature, were naturally inclined to change and gaining power at a rate full ghosts didn’t. Danny having died as a teen while going through puberty (a big change in itself) allowed for exceptional power growth. Coupled with the stressful environment where he fought for his half-life weekly if not daily he had been on the fast track to become an ancient before he hit fifty.
Becoming the de facto Ghost King on his eighteenth birthday stopped that in a way. After a bout of panicked confusion things had stabilized, especially after the coronation made things all official. Danny’s power growth had slowed. It would be quite some time before Danny would be considered an ancient on his own merits now, which was just fine by him. On the flip side becoming Ghost King had made him an ancient by job description.
“Hard at work I see.”
“Clockwork,” Danny greeted, blinking open his eyes. His mentor smiled back at him from an old face that rapidly morphed younger.
“Your Majesty,” Clockwork greeted in return with a flourishing bow in the air.
Danny grimaced. “Really, Clockwork?”
“But that is what you are for the foreseeable future, is it not?”
Danny looked away, biting his lip. Indecision warred inside him, but in the end he couldn’t help but look back up and ask, “will it work?”
Warm amusement shone in the red eyes. “As long as you’re careful, this is not an easy path you’ve decided on.”
Danny scoffed. “How could I not? It was the only thing I could think of.”
“You don’t have any obligation.”
“Clockwork, I took a man from his family, their grief is paying for my assistance. I never-“ his own grief and revulsion rose up in a wave, he felt as if he would drown.
“I didn’t ask for this.” The words were choked out and small.
Clockwork opened his arms and Danny rushed forward into the embrace. He held on desperately, as a sob wrenched through his chest. So much for his calm and meditation. A hand brushed through his hair beneath where the crown floated.
“Having a kind heart is not an easy thing for a king.”
“I wanted them to hurt too though, for putting me in that situation,” Danny admitted quietly.
“Mhmm, a very human emotion.”
Danny flinched, but Clockwork continued running his hand through his hair undeterred.
“And did you let this emotion affect your decision?”
“No, of course not. The world needed saving, that was the most important.”
“Then I don’t see what else you could have done, my King.” Danny sighed, letting it go and letting the steady tick tock of the seconds counted by Clockwork’s chest calm him down.
“In any case there’s no changing the past,” Danny announced with forced cheer as he pushed away.
Clockwork promptly bonked him on the head with his staff and he yelped.
“A hard earned lesson.”
“I wasn’t asking you to.” Danny grumbled rubbing at his head. It was barely a tap, but it still smarted. “I just can’t help but wonder, you know? They thought I was a city spirit, Clockwork! If I could just change that misconception.”
“How about you focus on the present instead, hmmm? Could there maybe be something you’ve forgotten?”
“Forgotten?” Danny felt a curl of worry in his gut.
“mmhmmm,” Clockwork hummed in agreement.
Danny wracked his brain, but simply couldn’t figure out what he’d forgotten.
“How is that new pet of yours?”
“Pet?! I don’t have- Wait, you don’t mean Jason? He’s a human, not a pet! Really, Clockwork.” Danny turned away, disgruntled at Clockwork, both for calling Jason a pet and also because thinking of Jason brought all that he’d done right back up to the surface.
“And how is the human?”
“I don’t know, okay,” Danny huffed. “I haven’t seen him. But I’m sure he’s fine, he’s a big boy and I gave him free rein of the castle.”
“The semi-sentient castle that responds to your mood?”
Oh.
Oh no.
“Fuck.”
Oo o oO
“Jason!” A voice yelled frantically. There were hands on him shaking him. He blinked open his eyes, not quite focused and suddenly there were green eyes and cold gloved hands on his cheeks.
“Oh good, you’re alive.” There was a lot of relief in that voice.
Jason pushed away and the hands let him. He was normally faster to wake than this, but he must have really been woken up at the wrong time. He felt immensely tired. With a yawn he sat himself up. It took him a moment to comprehend the figure floating cross-legged inches off the bedspread; fluffy white hair and dark brows worried over green eyes, dark clothing, white gloves and a floating nebulous cape behind him that was like a rare view of the night sky. It was the burning crown that finally cut through the haze with a shot of fear through his system.
He moved back, away, until his back hit the headboard. His ears hurt in phantom pain and his eyes flickered searching for signs that the king was angry, but he seemed surprisingly solid, human except for the obvious glowing and floating. Also that was not anger, it was worry and pain and… sadness?
“It seems I have more things to apologize for than I realized.”
Jason met his eyes then and at that moment he just looked tired and sad. He reached a hand out to Jason.
“Will you join me for breakfast?”
Jason didn’t take the hand.
Eventually the king grimaced and looked away. “If you’d rather eat alone that’s also fine, but I think I owe you an explanation and an apology.”
“Okay,” Jason finally answered hesitantly.
“Okay?”
“Okay I’ll join you for breakfast.” Still, instead of taking the offered hand, Jason got out on his own on the other side of the bed. He felt a bit wobbly as he got to his feet but he refused to show any more weakness.
This time as they walked and floated respectively along the hallways there were windows. If the view was to be believed it was still night, clear and starry, with a full moon.
The king noticed him looking and floated over to a window looking out. His white starlight hair moved in a non existent wind and something in his expression softened.
“It is always a clear night sky here. The stars move with the seasons in the living realm matching the northern hemisphere. It is a way for me to tell time. It’s easy to loose track here otherwise.”
Jason would believe that, he’d already lost track of time.
“How long have I been here?”
The king hunched his shoulders. “It’s been thirteen days since the equinox. It is lucky you are as liminal as you are or you would be in a worse state.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means you are to some degree feeding on the energy that make up the Realms, like a ghost would.” The king sighed and turned around.
“So first apology. I had thought I gave you freedom to explore but I forgot to take into account that the castle is semi-sentient and responds to my mood, and my mood haven’t been the best.” His face darkened and it was like the hallway itself got darker and more cramped. Jason’s heart beat fast in his chest, he couldn’t focus on that, he wanted to step backwards, but he couldn’t let fear control him. He had to focus on something else.
“You forgot your castle is magical?” Jason asked, putting as much disbelief into the tone as he could force through his tight throat.
The oppressiveness disappeared, but now the King just looked tired again. “I have been king for two years, Jason, of which I still spent most of the time haunting my hometown. But still I should have realized, so I’m sorry.”
He seemed truthful, but still-
“Two years?” Jason asked weakly, that was no time at all and it was so little compared to what Jason had imagined, compared to what he suspected anyone imagined.
“Yeah, which leads into the second apology. I am in many ways still getting used to the power that comes with the position. I get a bit hard on mortal senses if I’m not careful with my emotions, your liminality protects you some, but,” the King flew closer and hovered so they were at eye height, Jason stiffened. “I was upset and I hurt you. I should have controlled myself better and now you’re scared of me.”
“I’m not scared.”
“Jason, I can taste your fear.”
A spike of fear shot through him and he gave in and stepped back. The king just gazed at him sadly.
“Again, I’m sorry.” He looked for a moment as if he wanted to say something more, but then his shoulders fell and he turned around. “The kitchen is this way.”
The drapes by the windows somehow seemed disappointed in Jason and when he stood still too long without following his section of the hallway tilted. He quickly stepped forward so he wouldn’t overbalance and followed the king - before the castle decided more drastic measures were needed.
Oo o oO
When Jason had imagined what it meant to join the king for breakfast, he wasn’t sure what he’d imagined. But it certainly wasn’t to be seated at a plain wooden table with benches in a medieval looking kitchen with what looked like a glowing, green skinned lunch lady complete with pink dress, hairnet and gloves.
“Thank you for coming with such short notice,” the king addressed the lunch lady from where he was seated across from Jason.
“Oh, it is no problem sweetie,” she replied in a kind voice as she set down a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon in front of each of them. “Growing boys needs lots of protein. And you are still much too skinny.”
Jason watched in fascination as the king rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. It was such a human gesture.
“Yeah I’m afraid it’s a bit too late for me to do more growing.”
“Not all growing is physical, dear. Cookie?”
The sudden subject change was enough to give Jason whiplash. But the king seemed to almost expect it from his fond smile.
“You’re right of course. And yes, if you’re willing, we’d love a cookie each.”
The old lady chuckled and procured two chocolate chip cookies seemingly from nowhere. She put them down on two separate plates.
“Kingship suits you, Phantom, you’ve gotten much more polite.” There was something there, a history Jason could only begin to guess at.
“You can thank Dora’s lessons for that.”
“The dragon princess? I will be sure to remember. But I must go now, you take care boys.”
Dragon princess? It was like Jason had walked into a storybook.
They ate for a while in silence as Jason contemplated the scene he’d just watched. The king, or Phantom, Jason remembered now he’d also called himself that, seemed very young. He looked to be around Jason’s age, but of course that didn’t necessarily mean anything since he was a ghost, but he had said he had only been king for two years.
“So you eat,” Jason said just to get a conversation going.
“I can eat, but I don’t have to. Especially not here in the Realms.”
“And me? You said I absorb some energy here because I’m liminal? What does that mean?”
“It means that your spirit, your soul, whatever you wanna call it, hasn’t entirely forgotten how to be dead. But you’re not a proper ghost, so you can’t entirely feed on just the energy here.”
“So if I had never died?”
“This wouldn’t even be an option. I would never take a fully living here for long, they would be driven mad.”
Jason looked down at his food and continued eating, it was delicious and doubly more so because he was starving.
It wasn’t long before Phantom stood up.
“Thank you for indulging me. I won’t force my company on you any longer. The castle shouldn’t give you as much trouble as before - it is not meant to be a prison for you.” He seemed to say the last more to the room than Jason, there was a stern almost admonishing edge.
He was starting to leave and Jason felt a sudden urgency in his chest. This was the first interaction he’d had with anyone in what was apparently nearly two weeks. The loneliness and inactivity loomed like a beast.
“No, wait!”
Phantom turned halfway back. “Did you need anything else?”
“You can’t just leave me with no purpose! I need stuff to do or I will grow mad,” Jason pleaded.
“I don’t-“ Phantom frowned, he made a resigned movement with his hands. “Well, what do you like to do?”
“I-“ And suddenly that line of questioning felt way too intimate and personal. Jason settled for “I like to fight.”
There was something almost disappointed in the king’s gaze that grated in Jason’s chest. He sighed.
“I should have figured. Fright Knight.” He raised his voice on the last two words and suddenly from one blink to the next, there was a figure in grey gladiator armor and a flaming purple cape kneeling in front of him.
“My liege, what can I do for you?”
“Our guest-” he indicated Jason, “wishes to spend his time mastering the art of combat and is in need of a worthy sparring partner.”
The fright knight rose and studied Jason, only now did Jason realize he could see nothing but darkness and a pair of eyes inside the helmet.
“He doesn’t look like much.”
“He’s still alive, make sure he stays that way,” the king said absolutely deadpan, before turning and flying off, cape flaring behind him.
- Yay! Jason got something to eat finally. And he's for sure not gonna be bored anymore, so that's something XD
Things are looking up, or?
Anyways, hope you enjoyed. Comments and tags are greatly appreciated. For continuations you can subscribe to the masterpost

Prompt/idea #6
Y'all what if when Danny's not feeling that good (is very injured/didn't eat anything/sleep deprived) he instead of fainting just... Turns into his 14 yo self.
That wasn't such a problem at the begginjng bc he was short king and well, he didn't change that much.
But now? When he's in college (basically always on the verge of fainting from exhaustion/hunger/dehydration/whatever unholy thing he consumed to stay awake and functioning) in Gotham? When he's 24, and yeah, maybe he didn't grow that much in height, but he lost the baby fat. His face didn't look so hopeful, and innocent and he gained quite few scars.
So yeah, changing into his 14yo self wasn't the greatest by itself. But add the trauma Danny has when looking at himself in the mirror, and overall being in the wrong body (thinking about what younger him didn't know, like u can add angst Abt canon stuff, like Vlad was a fucking creep, pariah dark, or add vivisection and Dani dying or whatever).
So Danny was being extra careful about taking care of himself (he thought, like a liar). And maybe that day he forgot breakfast, lost his pocket money, his card declined, he couldn't sleep because of reccuring nightmares and the only edible (that's questionable tho) thing in his bag was some somehow wrong ectoplasm he stole from some guy few weeks ago (and Danny needed to ask the him where tf did he manage to find such a disgusting ecto. Like not even his parents manage to fuck it up that badly).
So when on his way home, some fucking asshole jumped him, of course he was going to freak the fuck out.
...if knocking the guy out counts as freaking out. And showing some of his more ghostly features out (read show the asshole the indescribable horrors of balancing life and death for eternity and no time at all).
And that somehow tipped Danny over the top. So now he's sitting there, in his now way too big clothes next to the knocked out (hopefully) clown, drawing dumb pictures on his face, waiting for Jazz to pick him up and maybe help him dispose of the body.
(bonus points if the batfam saw this go down and are now so fucking confused how tf did some twink™ knocked out the fucking joker in one punch, and than transformed into a fuckibg child????? B, no, put the adoption papers down-!)
(bonus bonus points if 14 yo Danny looks exactly like 14yo Jason, and they (especially Jason) just see young Jason sitting next to dead? Joker w a crowbar, drawing dicks on his face)
(also the reason why Danny doesn't know who joker is, is bc every time someone started talking Abt joker or the clown he assumed he was something like batman, and wasn't interested in learning anything Abt anything clown themed)

[DPxDC Week Day 6: Dan Phantom // Ghost King Danny // Lightning]
•No ships and no warnings on this one
The music coming from Phantom’s belt was uncharacteristically bright against the way that his face paled to an icy white.
The Bat was first to respond.
“Phantom, what’s going on?”
Phantom actually fumbled a little as he dug a non-league communicator out of his belt and silenced it. He didn’t look at the screen, which meant the music chosen was for a specific warning.
“A zone problem.”
But Superman and others with enhanced hearing caught the barely there breath of a word, “hopefully.”
“We can send some back up with you,” Wonder Woman offered.
“No.” He said it too quickly and seemed to realize it because he added, “no, it’s all good guys. I’ve got this. It’s no big deal, really.”
That last statement was a lie and they all knew it. Phantom winced as he realized it.
“Phantom, we are fully equipped to help you wi-“
“I said, no.” There was a cold authoritative tone to his voice as Phantom’s eyes flashed blue. “Not for this. Never for this.”
With that, Phantom did something he rarely ever did near them, he ripped a hole in the fabric of reality and left via the bleeding green portal. It closed behind him with a snap only leaving behind a few drops of ectoplasm that quickly dissipated.
The room, full with a number of Earth’s heroes, remained uncharacteristically silent.
“Captain Marvel, keep an eye out for signs of Phantom’s return,” Batman ordered.
“Got it.”
~•~
There were no signs of Phantom for almost 3 days.
Late on the third day the JL Threat Watch reported a sighting of him in the sky over Chicago. He and a ghost in a similar outfit fought in the sky, breaking holes in two skyscrapers and several big chain grocery stores before Phantom threw the other ghost higher in the sky. He took off after and neither were seen in Chicago again.
It takes another 12 hours before they can track down Phantom’s whereabouts. He’s still fighting the same ghost.
They look similar. It’s impossible to deny the similarities even while the other ghost is far more bulky than the lanky 20-something Phantom.
Both are bleeding ectoplasm and looking worse for wear.
It’s Captain Marvel who’s first on the scene and prepping to join Phantom but it’s the other ghost that spots him first and a malicious grin splits his face.
“Perfect,” he says. Marvel stops in his tracks mid-air suddenly uncertain. The gods are dead silent.
Faster than Marvel can track, the ghost is in front of him with an arm halfway in his chest.
“HALT.” The words vibrate Marvel’s bones and obviously they’re affecting the strange ghost because he’s unmoving and looking very confused about it.
“Cap, get out of here. Keep everyone away. He will try to kill or use any heroes and villains that come within our radius.” Phantom’s voice is normal again and in that forced calm tone that people use when they don’t want people to freak out during a life or death situation.
Marvel doesn’t argue. He knows that look in Phantom’s eyes and he’s not about to test the truth in his words without more protection.
~•~
Dan is fighting the command for all he’s worth and Danny eases up on it without verbal confirmation. Marvel is gone. He’s safe for now and Danny has just laid out his trump card.
Dan slowly turns to face him.
“What was that?” He snarls. Danny wonders how Dan managed to go his whole life without knowing about or waking Pariah Dark.
“What do you think?” He’s not about to tell the man.
“How did you command me like that?” He’s seething mad and Danny doesn’t want to tell him but he’s pretty sure Dan will just run off to hide out if Danny refuses to give him anything.
“I’ve achieved something you never even thought of. Guess you’re not as inevitable as you thought.” He cant help letting his facade of uncertainty fall away.
“How.” It’s a demand, not a question.
“You cannot disobey your king’s order,” he says calmly and watches with faint amusement as Dan goes through shock and then what seems like the five stages of grief.
“You must challenge me for the throne in order to stand a chance against me.”
“You were playing with me this whole time…”
“It’s not my fault you didn’t make sure you had all the information,” Danny says as he allows the zone to flow into him and replenish his stores of ectoplasm. His wounds seal back together like they were never there while Dan watches with increasing rage.
“Why you little…” His breathing turns ragged and Danny can almost see steam pouring from his ears. “I challenge you then.”
Danny doesn’t wait for Dan to attack first. His shot misses but that’s not what matters; it’s not giving Dan a moment to think and gather his strength. Dan doesn’t know the implications or the rules. Dan doesn’t know the game like Danny does.
And it shows pretty early on in their duel. It’s frowned upon for the king to just outright squash anyone that goes against their rules. It’s frowned upon to order by compulsion unless in dire circumstances (protecting Captain marvel). It is seen as sporting to play fight with one’s subjects and to not take that fight too seriously unless the subject goes too far. And finally, all bets are off as soon as one challenges the king. Danny’s magic won’t work on Dan for the duration of the duel but no one will be locking him up in a coffin of forever sleep for putting the beat down on his alternate self.
So the fight is a lot more one sided but it’s not until Dan goes looking for one of the living to hold hostage that Danny really cracks down with the one thing he knows Dan fears most (because he used to fear it too).
Lightning.
He calls the clouds and charges the air until he can pull the lightning how he sees fit.
The first strike zings by mere inches from Dan’s face. The big man can’t help the trembling his hands do but he spins to face the electrically charged Danny.
Electricity crackles through his frosty hair. Lightning isn’t exactly the most conducive for Danny’s Space Core but it’s something he mastered because he needed it not to be his weakness.
“Yield.” Dan’s jaw tightens and Danny can see the mutiny in his eyes. He lets more lightning strike behind Dan, making him jump.
“You are not inevitable. You are not me, not anymore,” Danny states firmly. He knows he’ll have hell to pay when the JL get to him after this but ancients does it feel good.
Okay this one was finicky with me so it’s not how I wanted it to go but imma just let it be. Tomorrow’s is a fun one. Another surprise one. I’m excited to share it when I finish.

FF.NET ACCOUNT CLOSE OUT (Danny Phantom Xovers)
w/Arrow:
1) The Mansons and the Queens are not only close business partners but friends as well. During a visit, Sam's rebellious nature came full bloom. Thea, who looked up to Sam, gained some of Sam's nature. Which might explain how rebellious Thea can get…
2) Vlad kidnapped Danny to break him down. Eventually he escapes, angering Vlad to a breaking point. Unknowingly, he is found by Walter, who realizes who he is. He takes Danny back to the manor to try to get him to open up. How will Danny cope with Vlad and the ghosts coming after him all the while trying to keep his secret intact?
3) During some "Vacation Time", Team Arrow takes a trip to Amity Park due to the increase of "Ghost" sightings. They meet the Fentons, the school kids, and see the local "menace" Danny Phantom. What will they do once they begin to connect the dots between Fenton and Phantom? Will they become allies…or enemies?
4) What if some of the League of Assassins became ghosts? What if they somehow met up with Ras Al Ghul*? A time when Ras learns that in death you are not able to control previous members.
5) QC decides to buy the Fenton's inventions to build some stock. A CEO with a secret identity and the son of the two ghost hunters with a secret identity. Both have enemies out for them. What could possibly happen? I mean it's just business…right?
6) In which Tommy Merlyn becomes a ghost and realizes the similarities between Team Arrow and Team Phantom.
7) What if Ember’s love spell only worked if one or both parties had feelings for the other, and made them love sick for the one they had feelings for?
w/Yu-Gi-Oh!:
The Heir of Two Thrones: After the defeat of Pariah Dark, Danny unknowingly becomes the Prince. At the same time, a secret has come out. Danny Fenton is the reincarnation of the heir to the Nameless Pharaoh. Neither party realizes this until, his parents and teacher force Danny to go on a student exchange program to get his grades back up. Due to the fact that Amity Park has more concerns with the ghosts, they never knew about the card game Duel Monsters. Danny ends up meeting Yugi and the gang and learns about Duel Monsters. Things begin to get complicated when ghosts start showing up. Danny originally planned to keep his secret in tacked by using his parents inventions instead of his powers. Everyone becomes confused at the ghosts' titles towards Danny. Prince Phantom, Halfa, Eidolon, Nameless Pharaoh's heir, ect. The Ghost Zone is the peaceful side of the Shadow Realms.
w/Vampire Knight:
Phantom Among Vampires- Danny’s family, friends, and classmates past away when a freak explosion happens at Casper high’s chemistry lab. Vlad wanted to waste his dad at all costs; he was outside fighting Skulker when the explosion happened. Heartbroken and deeply depressed, he runs off and disappears.
Vlad still wants him to be his son; so he sends the GIW to track him down and bring him back. They chase Danny all around the country till he gets to the San Francisco airport where he hitches a ride on the plane to rest.
Getting woken up by the plane landing, he finds out that he is in Japan. He heads to a nearby town and lands deep down in an alley way and transforms back into Fenton. As he slides down to the ground out of exhaustion, a sharp point from one of the bricks opens a cut on his arm.
A level E (A/N: he doesn’t know this yet), stands in front of him, it tries to attack but missed because of Danny dodging. Four people get attracted to this, two on either side of the alley way. Without a second thought he punches it into the wall, ready to go for a kick in the gut but relaxes when the creature turns to dust. He walks off but stopped by someone grabbing his shoulders, they tell him to follow he does but reluctantly. He follows to a school and is placed in the Day class (forcefully); he is content for a time but is still paranoid about being found by Vlad.
Later in the story an anonymous note says to place him in the Night Class because it’s better suited for him. It also says that if he isn’t in the Night class in *place amount of time here, the Academy will be shut down.
In *place amount of time here* he is transferred to the night class, surprisingly he gets better grades. Danny also suspects that the Night Class is not human, later he is told that they are vampires confirming. He dealt with being hunted, annoyed, and in the most haunted place in the country; nothing can weird him out or scare him in anyway shape or form.

So we agree, the Spot is just as fuckable as Miguel. These two are both incredible, just both at INSANELY opposite ends of the spectrum. Like I want Miguel to breed me, where as I feel like I want the same with Spot just where I’m more the dom? Idk tho, Spot at the end of the movie def would go back to his s/o’s apartment while waiting for Miles, def would be hate fuckin you con or noncon style, but would also def be so apologetic after he had cum a couple times
Spot who hates Miles Morales so fucking much because he not only caused him to mutate in the collider incident but the accident killed his s/o/crush (you) and now it's like "oh, hey, this is funny but, would you believe me if I said we used to date? Ha ha anyways i was thinkin we could pick up where we left off :)" And maybe he's either telling the truth or he's full on delusional, thinking you two were in love and "sending all kinds of passionate signals" when in reality you were just like, being a respectful coworker and being polite to him and shit you'd be pretty uh in danger if his original you survived and became some sort of multiverse jumping being as well because then he's, you know, CHASING YOU, he thought you had been gone forever, he thought he had lost everything in his life important to him, literally everything, his own physical body becoming unrecognizable, unable to have love, respect, even just a normal life, truly becoming a broken man, but here you are, still left behind, maybe even just as he remembers you visually
I saw a post saying he has Sans energy and it's like. Yeah actually. Funny Little Man Energy. Except The Spot is kind of a poor little wet cat out in the rain who's a lil pathetic tbh and Sans is like a sarcastic troll in a non serious well intentioned way but, the Energy is similar kwim.
Jonathan just being like half apologetic half self indulgent freak the whole time
God. Fucking. Just picture this. The whole thing happens to him, you know, the movie stuff, he's out for revenge, constantly disrespected by Miles, other villains, he lost his entire way of living a normal life, literally, he doesn't even have the peace of having a normal body anymore, AND he lost his beloved "fiance" in the accident and he's just absolutely going insane and he finds you again, YOU you, HIS you, somehow survived, and he goes to you to speak to you AND YOURE JUST LIKE "WAIT WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU" he was just projecting the whole time and you're confused and it just shatters his fantasy but you know what he decides he should get whatever he wants now, take whatever he wants, his powers open all kinds of doors, and he'll make this universe the one where he has you
Also if Spot doesn't have genitals or maybe you're using like, the Wookie rule I think is rhe term for it, he could literally get you any kind of toy or anything from anywhere. He could do ANYTHING to you, watch anything happen to you, use Any kind of gadget on you that he wanted in place of whatever he may be missing. Since he only has so many physical capabilities, he might as well get his pleasure in the satisfaction and pride of bringing you to, like, orgasmic insanity
Miguel just. God I have a draft for him, right, based off of the concept of Reader slowly kind of being pushed to a mental breaking point by Miguel pushing them to do a specific job in the Spider Society only THEY can do, and he's pushing you and telling you its for the greater good because it does legitimately hold the multiverse together, it keeps people from breaking canon, it's a memory wiping thing, but it's emotionally and mentally taxing on you and the nature of the job makes you a social pariah and, it's a struggle of wanting to hate and refuse him for pressuring you into all this when you actually WANT to trust him as your friend and leader and even want to love him vs also he's lowkey taking advantage of the stress the job causes on you so he can be the only one there to support you when you're in crisis mode cause, yeah its for the greater good, and gosh he hates seeing you cry such big fat tears, but it IS so nice to get to be the one to hold you when you're so desperate for some kind of anchor and support that you hug him. God I bet hugs from him are something else....

It Takes Two AU Headcanon Masterpost

The portal accident happened when Danny was 5 and Jazz 7
Instead of Danny staying in the human world, it brought him into the Ghost Zone and the portal broke
Nobody knows what happened to Danny in the human world. They knew the portal turned on by itself and failed, but nothing else. They do not correlate the two events together. They spent a whole year searching for Danny before declaring him fully missing
Frost Bite found Danny and took him in, raising Danny and recognizing Danny is a Halfa with a ice core
Danny is raised amongst the ghosts and is fully knowledgeable in ghost mannerisms and culture. He does get human food through one or two ghosts who will bring it to him
He is still hunted by Skulker, but it is less of a danger since he is protected by Frost Bite. He actually has a relationship with most ghosts. Whether it's good or bad is up to you (I can list it out specifically if anyone cares or want specific dynamics)
He hates Christmas but loves Holiday Truce. Idk if that makes sense. Him and ghost writer still have beef.
Danny is the GZ's core and is destined to defeat Pariah Dark and become the Ghost King. Many ghosts know this and hope that if they keep the prophecy under wraps, it won't happen. It just says a Halfa of the ghost realm. It could be Vlad! (It cannot be Vlad)
Danny runs into Vlad naturally and they have no idea he is Danny Fenton. He knows his name is Danny but goes by Phantom. So Vlad just sees him as an annoying Halfa child that bothers him sometimes
The three activate the portal by accident later on, but it doesn't turn them into Halfas. Just opens the portal. They become a small team of ghost hunters
Jazz becomes friends with Sam and Tucker and create an older sister type of friendship. She keeps them out of trouble and mentors them
They aren't on horrible terms with the A Listers due to Jazz being more popular. It surprisingly causes them to be looked down upon, but not bullied. Light hazing behind Jazz's back if so
Jazz and Danny both always feel like something is missing; Jazz knowing she has a little brother out there and Danny not knowing his real family
The A Listers and the Ghost Trio (Sam, Danny, and Jazz) all go out into the ghost zone together one day
The A Listers get disconnected and the Ghost Trio have to go find Frost Bite, who they met once before. He allied themselves with them after realizing the connection to Danny
The Ghost Trio are met with Phantom protecting the territory and they realize that he looks a lot like Danny. Or, what they'd expect Danny to look like now
Danny is ready to fight them, but realizes that they're not trying to attack him. He backs off and they talk.
He mentions his name is Danny Phantom, and Jazz asks if he was once Danny Fenton. Danny is caught off guard and says that the name sounds familiar, but he doesn't know. He's been there since he was a kid. He transforms back into his human form to show them he isn't a full ghost
They realize that it is in fact Danny and they freak out. Jazz is crying and hugging Danny, who is shocked and hasn't had contact with a human in years.
He breaks down crying after a few minutes.
He asks her everything and she explains the whole situation and how their parents kept up their ghost stuff, desperate to find out if Danny was dead or not
Danny is amazed and he is just glad that he found his sister
Then he realizes that he can't let them go back home so he tries to convince them to stay with him and that they're safer in the Zone than outside of the Zone
They refuse and eventually convince him to go back with them. He doesn't agree at first and tells them this is their home. They explain that the human realm was his home first and that it's their home. They can't just leave it
Danny thinks it over and they spend ends up going with them to get back the A Listers
The A Listers are so confused by Danny being there but are glad they had help. They then find out about Danny and are shocked
Danny ends up going home with them and reunite with their parents. But they don't tell him he's half ghost. Just that he was stuck in the Zone for 8 years
They all cry. Yippee.
Danny befriends Sam and Tucker! The A Listers treat him like they do when they find out he's Phantom in the show
He goes towards school!! He gets to fight the ghosts when they start coming through, and they actually respect him for the most part. They all know what's up. But they still fight him. They're still being chaotic ghosts causing problems
He's doing that double life y'all.
A year later, Danny does end up fighting Pariah and becoming king. He rules from the human realm until he gets out of high school then goes to half ghost zone half human realm ruling. It's a hard life for Danny

Warnings: Mentions of Smut (no actual), Cursing, Mentions of Blood, Bullying
Eddie's first tattoo was two little bats on his elbow. At this point, Eddie was already the town pariah, endlessly confusing and unnerving to the dull people of Hawkins. Deep down, Eddie was soft hearted. Kind. He'd taught every kid in his trailer park to ride a bike, and widow Halverson down the street knew Eddie was more than happy to mow her lawn anytime she needed. Hell, a slice of apple pie and an hour or two of conversation was payment enough. But, things were different outside of Forrest Hills.
Too many times to count, Wayne had come from work to find Eddie spitting blood into the kitchen sink, a bag of frozen peas held to his cheekbone. The whispered rumors that floated through the town only ever added fuel to the fire. One week, a PTA mom was swearing she'd Eddie seen performing a ritual sacrifice in the parking lot afterschool. Then a member of the track team claimed Eddie had been dealing coke on the playground across from the Kreel house. Next, a cheerleader was advertising that if you snuck behind the school bleachers on a Friday night, Eddie Munson would give you the best head of your life.
Those rumors were the most confusing to Eddie. He'd only ever had actual sex once, and his further experience ran thin at some over the clothes action, but nonetheless, a lot of girls were intrigued by the idea of "fucking the freak." Maybe Eddie should have just been grateful for this, but something about it made him feel like he was the butt of a joke. On the rare occasion that a girl would actually approach him, urged on by a group of her giggling friends, Eddie would ignore her. He had learned the hard way that in all likelihood, they were only trying to fill a stupid dare.
That didn't mean he didn't have fun with the rumors though. He'd always loved messing with people...leaning into the whispers just to see how outrageous they could get. It was endlessly entertaining to scandalize boring people.
The bat tattoo was evidence of this in itself. At first, it was just the two bats on Eddie's elbow. It wasn't anything super noticeable. That is, until Eddie caught wind of a whisper.
"You see the bats on his elbow? I hear he adds another bat everytime he fucks another one of the girls on the cheer team. He's already got two."
Immediately, Eddie's brain started swirling with evil little ideas. This...this would be fun. Eddie had gotten his face beat in multiple times by every one of those cheerleader's boyfriends, and high school romances never lasted long...
The first victim was Tommy Jackson, an old friend of Billy Hargrove's. His girlfriend Sarah dumped him over the weekend at a party, giving Eddie a golden opportunity to begin his fear mongering among the jocks. Monday morning, the students of Hawkins high were shocked to see a third bat etched onto Eddie's arm.
The implications sent the student body spiraling. Rumors flew like it was going out of style, but the consensus was unanimous. Tommy Jackson's girlfriend had dumped him to have a round in the sheets with the freak.
The next was Tony Andrews. Everyone knew Tony and his girlfriend had been on the rocks. The rumor mill would tell you that she had been cheating on him. Eddie's arm would tell you exactly who she was cheating with. The school was in shambles.
Tony slammed Eddie against the lockers the next morning, knocking the air clean from his lungs. "What the hell kind of game do you think you're playing, freak?"
Eddie chuckled, giving a wolfish grin, "Tony...I have no idea what you're talking about."
One by one, Eddie's arm sent every member of the football team spiraling. The best part was, the cheerleaders seemed to enjoy the attention just as much as Eddie did. The majority of them would lean into the implications of the bats, refusing to confirm or deny having had any run ins with the devil of Hawkins himself.

Are You Still In There
fanfiction

word count: 2231
Danny is a half-ghost/half-human who’s been living in the Ghost Zone ever since he can remember. One day, while flying around the zone, he finds two humans! He's never seen real humans before! How did they get here? And who are they? @duchi-nesten
heres another
Danny flew through the ghost zone. He loved it here. There was always something interesting happening, something new to look at.
It was also really nice today. The ghost zone sometimes had some really strange weather that would appear sporadically, but no random storms or quakes had happened today. It was very peaceful. Or at least as peaceful as the ghost zone could get.
He heard something strange. It sounded like something propelling itself forward through the ghost zone. It was similar to Skulker’s jets in his suit. What could it be?
When he looked down he saw something flying through the zone below him. It didn’t look like anything he’s ever seen. He looked closer and saw two humans sitting in the seats in front of the large window.
Humans! He’s never seen any real humans before. The other ghosts only ever told him stories. And very few at that. This was his chance to talk to some real humans!
He flew down toward them and was rehearsing what he was going to say. Were humans normally freaked out by ghosts? Could he just go up to them and say hi? Clearly if they were here he probably couldn’t freak them out too much. Not when they were also flying around in the ghost zone.
As he flew towards the ship, he watched as the girl that was inside it looked up at him. Her eyes widened and she shook her friend's shoulder, pointing up at where he was flying to them. She pressed a button and then he could hear her voice coming out of some speakers.
“Danny? Danny is that you?” The girl called. Her hands were pressed against the glass of their weird spaceship looking thing as she stared straight at him.
“How do you know my name?” He cocked his head at her.
“Tucker! I think that’s him!” She said excitedly, ignoring him.
“But he looks so different. His skin is a different color and his ears are pointed now. Sam, what if he’s…”
She bit her lip and looked away from the boy. Tucker.
“Maybe… Maybe he’s not. Maybe we just have to get him back to the human realm.”
“How do you guys know me?” He flew up to their ship and stared at them through the window.
They exchanged a concerned glance between the two of them and he was confused.
“Do you not remember us, Danny?” Sam whispered.
“Nope. I’ve been here for as long as I can remember.” He frowned. “Am I supposed to remember you?”
“We are your best friends.” Sam pleaded. “We’ve spent so long looking for you. It had been so long, we were almost ready to give up. We thought maybe you died… We didn’t know what would happen if you died again, where you would go. We thought you might have just disappeared.”
Danny furrowed his brows. “How could I have died again if I was already dead when I knew the two of you? That doesn’t make sense.”
“You’re telling me.” Tucker said quietly.
“Can you come back home with us, Danny?” Sam said. Her hands were still pressed against the glass.
Danny smiled. “I don’t know if you’re telling the truth, but I’d be up for going to the human realm! I’ve never been there before. It could be fun.”
He flew through the door into the ship after Sam opened it for him. Once she had the door shut again, she scooped him up in a big hug.
“I’m so glad we found you.” She whispered.
“So assuming you guys are telling the truth, what happened?” Danny asked. He awkwardly patted Sam’s back.
“You were fighting some new ghost we’d never seen before.” Sam pulled back to look at him. “He must’ve been on the same level as Pariah Dark because your parents were evacuating people out of the city. We were leaving when a big explosion happened and then the fight was over. You defeated the ghost, but then you were nowhere to be found.”
“When you went missing after defeating that ghost, your parents thought Phantom had something to do with it since he went missing at the same time, obviously. We had to tell them everything. We needed their help to be able to find you since we didn’t know what happened to you.” Tucker said quietly.
“Everyone’s been so worried but we finally found you. We’re going to fix this. Everything’s going to be okay now.”
Danny looked at Sam and Tucker as they spoke. He didn’t remember anything about his human life. But these two people made him wish he did. Maybe he wasn’t dead after all. Maybe he had a chance to get his memories back.
-----
Danny jumped out of their ship and landed on the tiled floor of a cold basement. The swirling portal was behind them and he was still surprised about how he had never found it before. It wasn’t that far away from where he normally resided in the zone, how had he never seen it before?
He looked around at the basement. Supposedly this was his parents lab. This didn’t seem any more familiar to him than his two best friends that brought him here.
“So what do my parents do again?” Danny asked. “I don’t think most normal people have labs in their basements.”
“Oh, uh, they’re ghost hunters.” Tucker smiled sheepishly.
“They’re not gonna kill me deader, are they?” Danny asked. Who knew if his parents even believed their story that he was one in the same as their son.
“They shouldn’t. They better not.” Sam frowned as she started heading up the stairs on the other side of the room. “We explained everything to them and they seemed really remorseful about everything that’s happened. They shouldn’t change their minds now.”
“Come on, Danny. Let’s go upstairs.” Tucker smiled at him. “We can let everyone know the good news.”
They headed up the stairs together. Danny felt nervous for some reason. If everything they were saying was true, how would his parents really feel about him now? Being a ghost was all he’d ever known, were they going to try and take that away from him?
His hands felt jittery as he passed through the doorway leading into what looked like the kitchen. He could see three people sitting at the table in the center of the rooms and his anxious thoughts were dashed away when the smallest of the three stood up and ran towards him.
“Danny!” She threw her arms around his neck. “Danny, is that really you? What happened? Where have you been all this time?”
“Jazz, Danny doesn’t remember anything.” Tucker said softly.
He felt as Jazz slowly pulled back from him. She studied his face, looking for any ounce of recognition in his eyes. She must not have found what she was looking for because tears welled up in her eyes and she pulled away. Seeing her cry hurt.
She took a deep breath. “Sorry, that must have been weird or overwhelming. I’m Jazz, your sister.”
Danny studied her face but then his gaze drifted behind her to where the two older people were still sitting at the table. They stared at him with wide eyes.
“Are those our parents?”
Jazz nodded. “Yes.”
He watched as the woman, his mom, stood up from her chair. She walked towards him slowly.
“Danny?”
She studied his face and tears filled her eyes. His dad walked up behind her, studying his face in the same way,
“How did we never see it before?” She whispered. “You look nearly identical to your human half.”
A sob pushed its way out of her throat. “I’m sorry for everything, Danny. I’m so sorry. Maybe if we had known, you wouldn’t have disappeared. We could’ve stayed to help.”
He didn’t remember anything she was talking about, so he couldn’t offer her any help. All he could do was watch.
“Mom, do you know how to fix this?” Jazz asked.
His mom took a deep breath and steadied herself. “We’ll have to figure out what happened first. We need to do a bit of research before we can start making theories and plans on how to move forward.” She smiled at Danny.
“Glad to have you back.” His dad said.
“Glad to be here.” Danny smiled at the strangers surrounding him. He couldn’t remember them yet, but they felt like home.
-----
Danny floated above his bed in his room drinking from a slurpy Sam and Tucker had dropped off for him after school. He couldn’t resume his normal human activities yet since he still couldn’t remember anything, not even how to change back to his human form, but they were always offering to bring him things they said he liked before or stories to tell him.
“Danny!” His mom called from downstairs.
He set the slurpy down on his bedside table and floated downstairs through the floor into the living room. His mom stood facing the stairs, expecting him to be walking down them.
“Hey, what’s up?” He said behind her.
She jumped a little bit and turned around to face him.
“Oh, Danny!” Her hand was to her chest. “You startled me.”
“Sorry.” He said sheepishly.
She waved it off and smiled at him. “Your dad and I have made progress.”
“Progress?” He asked.
“We’ve been observing you since you came back home.” She started. “We think spending so much time in the ghost zone forced your ghost form to adapt. Without knowing you were also supposed to be human, it could be possible that your body let itself change to better suit your environment.”
She gestured at his face. “Your ghost form is already starting to go back to how it initially was before you came back.”
“It is?” Danny asked, shocked. He hadn’t noticed anything about his appearance changing.
His mom nodded. “Your ears are no longer so long and pointed and your skin is closer to a more human tone.”
“Huh.” How did he not notice that?
“We’ve also started developing a new invention that will let us see inside your core.”
Danny raised a hand up to his chest. “That won’t hurt, will it?”
She shook her head. “Not a bit. All it’ll do is scan your core. This way we can see exactly what’s happening inside it. We’re going to see if the part of your core that triggered your transformation is still there.”
“And if it’s not?” Danny asked.
She paused for a moment. “If it’s not still there then it’s likely you died in that last battle.”
Danny swallowed hard. “That’s some high stakes for a simple scan.”
She nodded. “We’ve got to keep hope though. You’ve proven that you’re extremely lucky, in one way or another. I’m sure we’ll be able to find it. If we do, we at least know where to start.”
He nodded back at her. “Are you working on it right now?”
“Yes, it’ll be our priority until it’s finished.”
“Can I come see it?”
She smiled. “Of course.”
-----
Danny sat in the living room with Sam and Tucker. It was Friday, the start of the weekend, so they came over right after school to hang out the whole weekend. His parents said that they were close to finishing their new invention that would be able to scan his core and they wanted to be here when it was done so they could all find out what it said together.
For now, Sam and Tucker were regaling him with all sorts of stories about their classmates.
“Wait, wait.” Danny shook his hands in front of him. “You’re telling me the guy used to beat me up all the time? Why’s he so sad I’ve been missing then?”
Sam shrugged. “Tucker thinks that he lost his favorite punching bag. I think he’s got some deeply repressed feelings for you.”
Tucker rolled his eyes. “There’s never been any sort of evidence pointing towards Dash being interested in guys. What are you even basing your theory off of?”
“Maybe it’s a gut feeling.”
“The Fenton’s would be offended by you making theories without anything to support them.”
“Yeah, well, they used to-”
Sam was interrupted when Jazz slammed the basement door open in the kitchen. She ran through the door into the living room, out of breath. She looked at the three of them and smiled.
“Mom and dad finally finished the invention! We’re going to get to see if your human form is still in there somewhere.” Jazz said excitedly.
Danny, Sam, and Tucker exchanged glances with one another. Sam and Tucker smiled at him but he could tell they were nervous.
They stood up and Tucker extended a hand to him. Danny let him pull him up off the couch. Jazz ran back to the basement door.
They followed after Jazz and walked down the stairs. When Danny passed the threshold of the lab, he could see the invention his parents had been working on ever since he came back sitting in the middle of the lab. He walked toward it.
Sam and Tucker walked with him, one on either side of him. He looked at them nervously.
“Are you ready to see if you’re still in there somewhere?” Sam asked with a small smile on her face.
Danny nodded. “Definitely.”

Marlene realizing she is a lesbian:
“JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER COME HERE RIGHT NOW THIS IS AN EMERGENCY” Marlene screamed running down the stairs, desperately calling her best friend.
James promptly got up running to the aid of his friend
“What is it? … Marley, are you crying?”
“Mary held my hand, James”
“… so?” - James asked, confused. he thought it was common for girls to hold hands, he saw them do it all the time
“It changed something in me. when she touched me... I froze. I didn't know what to do. I mean, I knew I had a little crush on her but I thought it was just a silly teenage thing you know? " she looked at him hoping to be hnderstood. "I thought it would pass, but I think I'm proper in love with her and I'm freaking the fuck out”
“I can see that. just try to breathe, okay Marley?" he said is brushing his hands up and down her arms, looking straight at her eyes "and honestly think… Is this such a bad thing?”
“IS THIS SUCH A BAD THING??????!?!?!?! JAMES ARE YOU INSANE? THIS IS THE WORST THING. I'M IN LOVE WITH MY BEST FRIEND AND I'M A FULL ON LESBIAN” -she gasped and stopped, putting a hand over her mouth, as if in shock. - “I'm a lesbian”
“I knew that. We all knew that. I thought you knew that. What the fuck”
“I DIDN'T FUCKING KNOW THAT”- she screamed while her crying only seemed to get worst- “Since you were the only boy I kissed, I tried to convince myself that I hated it because you´re like a brother to me, so I still had hope I might end up with a man someday. I could try to hide that I like girls and live like a normal person." she took a deep breath and continued "But when Mary held my hand I saw my entire future. I saw us getting married, and living near the beach, I saw us visiting her family in Brazil and her introducing me to everyone as her wife." She continued speaking without even taking a breath "After she let go of it I still felt the ghost of her touch in it and my heart ached. ached to be touched by her again, to smell her cherry lip gloss on my cheek.” she was speaking with lovesick doe eyes, just looking into James’ thinking about Mary “After she left, I just sat there paralyzed thinking about what my future could look like in many different ways and none of them had a man in it.”
Marlene was bawling by that point, her words came out all grumbled and sloppy, and she was just vomiting words, talking so fast James could barely keep up. Her best friend just hugged her and held her in his arms. She was going up and down from all the violent crying.
"I don't wanna be like this. I don't want this to be my life.I want to be normal. I dreamed of getting married to her but that's not even legal. Here in the wizarding world it's not that bad but still, I see how these women are treated, James. they get treated like they're nothing like they don't mean shit… LIKE I DON'T MEAN SHIT. It's terrifying, I don't know if I'm ready for this, I don't want my whole life to change. My parents are gonna hate me, everyone will see me differently. I'm gonna become the school pariah... fucking hell when I come back home I'm gonna be the town pariah. I don't wanna be like this”. She was still crying, hiccuping sobbing gasping for air, and all James could do was hug her. He held her even tighter, then he pushed his head back and kissed her forehead. “I think I'm broken, Jamie. I feel so unlovable and just so wrong, i just wanted to be normal. How am i gonna be respected as an adult? everyone will just treat me like shit” she turned her head to the side to face James, who was giving her a reassuring smile.
"I didn't think about it this way. I'm here with you, all your friends are there for you as well. and it's okay, you can be your own whole person without a man in your life. You have us... your family, there's me, there's Sirius and Remus and all the girls. There's mum and dad, they will support you no matter what, you must know that. They've known you since you were practically a baby. And there's me, I will always, always be here for you. I can even pretend to be your boyfriend if you like, so nobody can say anything about you, truly it's no biggie."
"Thanks. I know you are, it's just so scary. My parents will hate me, plus I am a walking stereotype and that's a whole other thing. but thank you.”
"I'll always be here for you, love. And let's not worry about that for now, think of it was future Marley's problem. Do you want anything right now? to make you feel better."
"Stay? Please. And just hug me because I think this is the only man's love I'm ever gonna experience"
James scoffed a laugh "You don't even need to ask. and I love you too Marley, nothing’s gonna change that, I'll say it as many times necessary for you to understand"
So they stayed there, James cuddling her staring at the celing. To lighten the mood, Marlene asked "So, how's the whole 'crush on Remus' thing going?"
Oh, that caught James off guard "Yeah... it's not going, actually. That was all it was honestly, just a little innocent crush. I will love him forever, of course, but we realised we only truly want to be friends. Besides, i'm interested in someone else now, and so is he"
"ooh and who is this mystery person? boy or girl?"
"it's a boy... but he's much older than me, it's never gonna happen"
"maybe in the future, when you are a pro player and all mature and grown up, you never know, brother"
"yeah, maybe... it's not like i'm in love or anything. But please, lets not make this conversation about me. It's about this amazing thing you discovered about yourself and how much i love you for that and the many other reasons that make you the favourite sister i never had"
"soppy git" she laughed and teased him, but they slept holding each other that night.

weird fun facts about your oc(s)
rules: share some fun facts about your oc(s). they don't have to be relevant to their story, perhaps even better if they aren't. the weird ones are the best!
got tagged by @solas-backpack-mug and i've been trying to write more so heeeeeere we go~
Axa:
has only ever dated elf men. granted, she's only ever had three (or is it four? 👀) lovers, but every one of them has been an elf man of one kind or another. when confronted on this, she vehemently denies having any kind of "thing" for elves, and insists it's just pure coincidence. but we know the truth, don't we.
that's not to say she hasn't had a dalliance or two with non-elven men– her very first kiss was with another orlan, she once shared an infamously awkward kiss with aumaua chanter Kana Rua, and she almost hooked up with a folkbred death godlike Bleak Walker during her Kind Wayfarer training. but her serious relationships have all been with elves.
loves spicy food. has a higher spice tolerance than anyone she knows. no one sneaks food from her plate more than once, except for vela (it took her a few attempts before she learned). doesn't understand why her friends all start sweating and grimacing and looking around nervously for milk when she cooks.
used to put her avian godlike brother Tico on her shoulders when he was little and run around with him, pretending he was flying and carrying her off like a bird of prey. when she left home, he gave her a scarf he'd woven some of his own feathers into. it's the yellow scarf she wears in practically every image you'll see of her.
alto. sings like a dream. can't draw for shit.
Vaargys:
before he met Axa, he was monolingual (ordhjóma) and illiterate. in five short years, she taught him to speak, read, and write in ixamitl and aedyran. (aedyran came a lot easier to him.) she tried to teach him basic mathematics, but...
he is absolutely terrible with numbers. even basic arithmetic bamboozles him. he often over (or under) pays for goods and services because too much math is involved. this is partially the reason he prefers to just steal shit most of the time instead. (the rest of the reason: it's fun, it's a challenge for his dexterity and intellect, it conserves money for things that aren't able to be stolen such as ship upgrades, it causes confusion and chaos which pleases Wael)
he actually has a decent tenor singing voice, but as he was a pariah growing up and never allowed to even learn his clan's epics much less join in when they were recited, he never voluntarily sings.
he has a great number of scars on his body from his decades wandering the Land alone. he doesn't remember how he got most of them. of note: he is missing his little toe on his right foot, he has severe eczema on the backs of his hands so they have numerous deep scratches and gouges in them from his constant scratching and picking, and he had a chunk about the size of a coinpurse taken out of one buttock when he passed out in a cave and woke to find the bear who lived there quite literally eating his ass.
has prominent dimples in his cheeks. likes seeing if it freaks people out when he sticks his fingers real deep in 'em.

Let's Talk About NatsuMikan: Mikan (pt. 24)
Yesterday, we finished talking about the Sports Fest Arc. Though Luna has been dealt with, Natsume is still distant, and Mikan will feel the effect of this during this next transition arc.
This arc's purpose is to build tension and suspense for the upcoming monster of an arc. If any of the chapters leave you with a vague, unsettling feeling, that's intentional!
Tumblr media

Chapter Eighty-Nine
The Red Team won the Kibasen in the end, securing their victory in the Sports Festival. Often, at the end of an arc, Mikan will say, “[insert event here] ended safely!” but that will be increasingly not the case from here on out. Though things seem happy now compared to the frustration and jealousy of the previous arc, unbeknownst to Mikan, this is just the beginning of a long period of suffering. This current peace is incredibly fragile and due to break any second. The ESP is now suspicious that Mikan has the stealing alice, which will flavor the next transitionary arc as he tries to get confirmation.
Tumblr media
Mikan my beloved always and forever (you deserve better than the character arcs ahead of you).
I really don’t want to get into all of the ins and outs of why I don’t care much for Mikan having the stealing alice, but my biggest issue with it is how much it overshadows her nullification from here on out, and how the emphasis changes from Mikan’s uselessness complex and insecurity to the taboo possession of the potentially dangerous stealing alice. Mikan’s “uselessness” insecurity isn’t really resolved yet, so it makes me sad that the arc is left hanging open for the sake of the stealing alice.
Anyway, it is what it is, so we’ll be moving on.
It’s time for summer!
Class B has a new uniform for the season and things seem to have settled down. Everyone is getting along again and almost everything is back to normal…
Except for Natsume.
Everyone is gossiping about what could be up with him. He was more on Luna’s side than anyone else, but now that the truth about her deceitfulness has been revealed, his lack of apology or attempt to make up has confused everyone--leading some to guess that he might be upset with them for some reason. In any case, despite Natsume’s long-lasting popularity, he’s become a bit of a pariah since the Sports Festival.
But Mikan made the choice to believe in him, no matter what. She knows that he was manipulated and blackmailed like she was now, but his behavior now still bothers her. She concedes that he’s always kept to himself, but this is different from usual. Mikan knows that he’s not mad or anything--he’s purposefully isolating himself. She’s not hurt, just insecure and fearful about why exactly he would be isolating himself now.
Tumblr media
When it comes to Natsume, Mikan has always had one consistent wish--stay stay stay stay stay.
Once again, Mikan’s intuition is spot on, and she has the feeling that Natsume might leave and he’s distancing himself to make his absence less felt. She tells her friends that she believes in him and that he wouldn’t act like this for no reason.
“His every action makes me feel insecure,” she thinks to herself, which means that she’s keeping her eye on him and that she is increasingly afraid of what he might do next. Though everything else seems to have slid perfectly back in place, this issue with Natsume is front and center in her mind. I say this because even though Mikan doesn’t interact a lot with him in this arc, she will never stop thinking about him.
Natsume’s self-isolation isn’t the only thing amiss. This chapter also establishes that Luna is back to being despised by this class just like she was when she was a child, as well as the fact that Narumi-sensei has been ill lately and hasn’t been coming to class.
Mikan and her friends go to Central Town to buy gifts for kids with May and June birthdays, but she is distracted for most of the trip. Hotaru correctly deduces that she’s freaking out about the alice stones she was able to pull from her classmates at the Sports Fest and her suspicion that she might have a second alice. Hotaru fills her in on the New Year’s Arc, how her life was saved by a mysterious stone appearing in her hand--that there’s sufficient evidence to assume she has another alice in addition to her nullification.
Tumblr media
Sigh...
Mikan is initially excited about this possibility, that she has two alices and that she might have to come up with a name for the second.
A passing Goshima tells her that such an alice would be called a stealing alice, which takes over Mikan’s mind for the next few days.
Chapter Ninety
Again, Hotaru is able to deduce that Mikan is concerned with the other person who possesses the same alice as her: Yuka, the notorious member of Z, who hurt her friends. Mikan is able to glean that she must have some sort of tie to her if they have such a rare alice in common. But Hotaru tells her not to worry about it--that an alice isn’t necessarily bad just because one person who possesses it happens to be bad.
Tumblr media
The only thing I like about Mikan having the stealing alice is mother/daughter connection. The rest is bleh.
Of course, we’re in a strange place now where ¾ members of the main group know that Yuka is Mikan’s mother, but Mikan remains oblivious. It’s interesting that her friends keeping this a secret from her doesn’t really make much of a difference. Of course, Tsubasa and Natsume knowing is crucial since they have to do what they can to avoid hurting Yuka in their missions to find her. Additionally, Hotaru and Ruka knowing means they are able to warn Mikan to keep her second alice a secret. Without that knowledge, Mikan might open up to the wrong person which would have disastrous consequences.
Anyway, these scans are terrible but I’ll parse out what I can. Basically, there’s a group of troublemakers who have been running rampant lately because Natsume--who had previously kept them in check--has now been isolating himself. As a result, chaos has been all over the school. Sumire leads the charge in catching them, but they end up victim to another prank, causing the usual suspects’ souls to shuffle.
Mikan’s soul has sadly shuffled into Bear’s body, so she’s not even human for a bit here. She is very upset about this. Ruka seems to think she’s very cute and Hotaru teases her, and Mikan quickly turns to those most sympathetic to her plight, which creates an odd image of Hotaru and Natsume’s bodies comforting a crying Bear. They find out that this shuffle will wear off eventually--they just need to stay in the same area in order to get to their bodies. Unfortunately, Bear rather likes being in Koko’s body and has run off somewhere, so now the group is chasing after him.
Tumblr media
I'm just a big fan of this panel, I don't know.
Chapter Ninety-One
Mikan--still in Bear’s body--finds her best friend Hotaru--still in her body--and notices that she seems upset. This is testament to their closeness. So far in the past few chapters, Hotaru has demonstrated keen understanding of what must be taking over Mikan’s thoughts. And now, Mikan demonstrates that she can tell when Hotaru is upset. Though on the outside, Hotaru seems the same as always, Mikan knows her better than that and can discern that something is wrong.
Tumblr media
This is actually my favorite arc for their friendship.
Purely from Mikan’s POV, this scene is long and awkward for a bit there--Hotaru is quiet and not answering any of her questions. But then Hotaru hugs her, and it’s one of the only times (and I believe the very first time) that Hotaru initiates a hug with Mikan like this. Usually, Hotaru allows Mikan to hug her, or hugs her back after giving Mikan permission. But this time, Hotaru hugs her, and although Mikan is touched and happy to see Hotaru so affectionate, it’s even more evidence that something isn’t right, even when Hotaru assures her she’s fine.
Hotaru is able to change the mood, telling Mikan that they’ll be best friends no matter what.
But their moment is interrupted by another soul shuffle. Lucky Mikan is back in her own body, but Hotaru is now in Bear. Koko and Mikan, now in their proper bodies, are the most stable and thus should be responsible for finding Bear and bringing him back. Unfortunately, Koko wants to spend more time with Sumire’s new personality, so Mikan is on her own.
Except that Yuu has one more thing to tell her before she runs off--about Natsume. While he was in Natsume’s body, Yuu was in terrible pain. He assumed it was because of the soul shuffle, but he doesn’t feel pain at all being in Sumire’s body. Natsume, who goes frequently to the hospital, has been hiding the fact that he’s in constant agony from the rest of the class.
Tumblr media
Always one consistent wish: stay stay stay stay.
Mikan doesn’t linger--she takes off to find Natsume. She has been guessing about Natsume’s alice shape for a long time and Yuu has just given her further evidence that she could be right. She’s been right about a lot of things lately, but this is one thing she doesn’t want to be right about.
She finds him quickly, but he turns away and doesn’t say anything, so his body must still be possessed, probably by Bear. Sound logic. She handcuffs Bear to prevent him from running off again, very proud of herself for catching him so quickly. But Bear!Natsume doesn’t want to move from the bench he’s sitting at, so he handcuffs himself to her and Mikan has no choice but to sit next to him for a moment.
This next moment is interesting because Mikan is the only one speaking. Usually, Mikan is the more talkative of the two, leading the conversation and being generally loud. But Natsume usually offers a quip or insult or some sort of snarky comment. This time, since he’s pretending to be Bear--or rather, just refusing to say anything and letting her come to her own conclusions--he can’t do that. He has to be entirely quiet and listen to what she has to say. Additionally, the fact that Mikan thinks she’s talking to Bear leads her to say things to him she wouldn’t otherwise confess.
Tumblr media
This is the most honest she's ever been with Natsume and that's only because she doesn't know he's Natsume!
Mikan is in a grouchy mood, so she complains a little about how Bear and Natsume both share the same rotten personality, but the complaints lose their annoyed edge and her tone turns serious. Both Bear and Natsume are hard to understand, she confesses.
Despite the fact that she knows it was Natsume who confessed his feelings at the Borrowing Race and despite the fact that she swore she would put her faith in him, Mikan is still insecure. She wonders if Natsume really likes her at all. Everything between them is complicated and she’s understandably confused.
Mikan thinks she is currently talking to Bear, but Bear is a stuffed animal. He is not human and he doesn’t even speak. Really, in this moment, Mikan feels like she’s talking to herself. She’s finally letting herself say out loud and ponder the idle but pressing thoughts that have been plaguing her for a while now. It feels safe to do so, to finally be truthful about what she’s feeling--mainly confusion--because Bear is the one person who can’t really judge her no matter what she says. But it’s pretty huge that Mikan is even willing to think this, because, as we know, Mikan has been suppressing any analysis of her own emotions, especially regarding Natsume, from the very start.
But even though she’s finally voicing some of her thoughts, she’s not being entirely forthcoming. There’s still plenty of thoughts that she’s decided to keep to herself, namely what she really wants right now, which is to hear Natsume confirm something--anything.
Tumblr media
I love that even when she's being more honest and upfront about her feelings than ever, she's still holding back. Queen of Repression, this one, even more than Natsume and I stand by that.
So much of Mikan’s understandings about Natsume are inferences rather than solid facts. Either Ruka spills some secret or Mikan has to play a guessing game, but in the end, Natsume never says anything about himself. He never talks about his feelings or his past or what he’s up to. Mikan has to figure it out herself, and he has never stopped being a puzzle. Ruka sharing Natsume’s backstory was informative because she now has solid evidence that she isn’t entirely delusional about him, but Natsume still isn’t offering any reassurances. The alice stone may or may not be his. That confession may or may not have been Natsume and he may or may not have meant it. Natsume might or might not leave, but either way, he isn’t about to tell her.
And she knows that he won’t. That’s what makes it all so frustrating--she knows him too well and Natsume hasn’t opened up about himself at any point in their relationship so why would he start now? Even her decision to believe in him was a result of her own inference and ability to discern that it was Natsume who had hugged her and thus that Natsume must be going through his own stuff too. So her faith in him, though she won’t be compromising on it in anyway, is still tied to insecurity. This new information about his health--again, given through another source and not the boy himself--only makes things worse. What if he really does “go somewhere”?
This is a really big moment for Mikan. She is able to open up, if only to Bear, but she still holds back. The last (and first) time she said out loud what she really wanted from Natsume, he rejected her in favor of Luna. She’s still not ready to be so vulnerable again, so she shares some of her thoughts but keeps the more fragile ones to herself.
But when Natsume holds her hand, she’s taken aback. This was supposed to be akin to talking to herself, helping herself work out some of her issues, or at least letting them out. She hadn’t expected comfort or affection, especially from Bear.
But it’s not really Bear, is it?
Tumblr media
I looooooove that Mikan and Natsume kiss and hug and hold hands all before becoming a couple. It's so silly.
There’s proof that it has been Natsume all along when the kids run by and scream that Bear has finally been found, but I think Mikan figures it out when he holds her hand. Like I said, Mikan has been basing all of her knowledge of Natsume off of inferences and other people’s accounts. She knows him very well because she has been looking closely at his behaviors and actions, because she has no other choice. If Mikan ever wanted to know him, she’d have to do all of the heavy lifting in the relationship, to pay careful attention to how he acts in order to get even the slightest idea of how he feels. She’s always looking closely, and I think she can tell that it’s Natsume holding her hand, not Bear.
She and Bear aren’t close. They’re not friends. Bear has been nothing but violent and aggressive with her. Their best moments so far have involved deals and bargains, not genuine kindness or compassion on Bear’s part. This will change soon, but not now. Now, Mikan knows better than to think Bear would hold her hand after listening to her whine.
It’s Natsume’s body after all, and she had just been talking about him and how he’s been making her feel. It takes her by surprise, but she knows it’s him. He hugged her as an apology and he’s holding her hand to assure her now. It’s consistent behavior, and that’s all she has to go by, but it’s enough to know, even before the kids come running by.
They sit in silence for a moment after the crowd leaves. It’s awkward and tense for both of them. Now Mikan knows it was Natsume all along and she had just spilled so many vulnerable feelings with him. Moving on in this conversation will be uncomfortable. So, of course, Natsume leaves. He’s somehow able to uncuff himself, leaving Mikan on the bench. She could let him leave and continue to stew in the tense aura they’ve been living in since before the Sports Fest, but she doesn’t want to.
Tumblr media
Very bold for her!!! I'm proud of you, Mikan!
She is always looking at his back, always watching him leave. What she wants more than almost anything is to make sure he doesn’t leave for good, to keep him here with her.
So she calls out to him. She knows she won’t get a full, emotional conversation with him about any of this (she's not ready for that either), but she still wants some sort of reassurance. She wants one answer and she wants to hear it from him this time. She asks him outright if he’s going to leave. Of course, she distances herself from that emotional fragility by using “us” instead of “my,” but we know to expect that by now. She’s already putting enough on the line by asking any part of it. She has to distance herself a little in order to get the question out.
She thinks to herself that she just needs him to confirm that he’s staying put, that that’s all she’ll need in order to stay strong. She wants to think she’s being silly, that she’s overthinking it, that this one inference is way off base. She doesn’t want to lose him, or even imagine that losing him is possible. Mikan was able to use her alice all the way across the room because of that fear, had to confront the possibility again during the New Year’s Arc, and was just now forced to endure the Sports Fest apart from him. One of Mikan’s most consistent fears is the fear of losing Natsume, so it makes sense that this would eat away at her like this, that she would need to hear assurances from him that she’s making it all up.
But Mikan’s inferences have rarely been off base, least of all about this. I think she knows that too, that she just wants to hear a confident “no” regardless of what the truth is, just so she can put off thinking about it, just so she can be secure for a moment.
Tumblr media
That's good enough for now.
And he gives her that, the “I’m not going anywhere” that she’s wanted to hear for a while now. He doesn’t give her anything else, but she never expected him to. This is enough, because now she can relax for a bit until this subject inevitably rears its ugly head once more.
Chapter Ninety-Two
One tense moment resolves, only to lead to another. Mikan sees Narumi against a tree, obviously in pain and suffering. Mikan is naturally concerned, so she approaches him and asks if she could call anyone. He dismisses her concerns and assures her he’ll be fine if he rests for a bit, but that evidently isn’t even close to the truth because he then falls unconscious.
Narumi passed out gripping Mikan’s hand so she can’t run off to find help. She feels useless--such a novel feeling for her, right?--unable to do anything for someone she loves… yet again. Assistance comes from an unlikely place when Jinno arrives, telling her to remove his glove. She does and both she and Jinno are shocked to see his hand is rotting, obviously the work of Persona’s alice. Mikan recognizes the marks, and is horrified that Narumi was hiding this for who knows how long. Jinno voices worry that the marks have reached his heart and that he’s at the end of his rope and Mikan realizes what she has to do.
Tumblr media
Nothing good, that's what.
She was told by Hotaru that she’d saved herself with her stealing alice when Persona had almost killed her. She knows then that her alice could do that again, for Narumi. But she was also compelled to keep this a secret, so using the alice in front of Jinno could cause problems.
Jinno has up to this point revealed no evidence that he isn’t loyal to the ESP or that he has his students’ best interests in mind. He could--and probably is, in Mikan’s POV--be affiliated with the fukitai and the oppressive systems here, more aligned with Persona and the ESP than the mysterious person looking out for her. But Mikan chooses to use her alice in front of him anyway, to put herself on the line and maybe even get in severe trouble, because saving Narumi is worth it.
Mikan is potentially sacrificing herself for somebody she loves here. She’s done it before and she will do it again, but this time is potent because when Narumi comes to and sees what she’s doing, he hits her. He doesn’t want the ESP to know about her alice, but Mikan cares more about saving his life than about whatever consequences this might have. Narumi hits her, probably for the same reason that Natsume told her he hated everything about her or that Hotaru left their village on short notice: to make her angry enough to give up on him. But that has never worked on her before and it won’t now.
Tumblr media
Makes me wanna cry, not gonna lie.
Mikan is not a masochist. She doesn’t love to be mistreated. She just loves so openly and unabashedly, choosing to love the sum of what a person is instead of just the shiny, pretty parts. She continues to steal Narumi’s alice even after he hits her because she loves all of him and even the ugliest parts of him can’t deter that. Last chapter, Mikan was scared to lose Natsume. Now she’s scared to lose Narumi.
She doesn’t want him to leave “my--our lives.” This change feels different to me than her distancing from feelings related to Natsume. With Natsume, she chooses to be part of a collective so that she doesn’t feel as vulnerable sharing her insecurities. Even when it’s just her own thoughts, Mikan refuses to look too closely at her unique feelings for him. That’s not an issue with Narumi. She loves him and was even able to tell him so without a problem. Narumi has always been kind and supportive to her. They have had their ups and downs, but she knows that he cares for her and she’s not afraid to tell him how she feels. This change isn’t about distancing herself from the feelings, it’s about reiterating to him that she wouldn’t be the only one suffering if he were to die. “Our lives,” not just hers, because so many people love and need Narumi in their lives.
She believes that, and she needs him to believe it too.
Tumblr media
I love analyzing comparisons, and the "my--our" thing just feels so different with Natsume than it does here. But of course it does. Natsume is always different.
But it’s not some epiphany on Narumi’s part that allows her to finish stealing his alice--it’s Jinno’s violent intervention and his command to her to steal it quick while Narumi is knocked out.
When it’s done, Mikan starts to cry. Because of what almost happened, because of the emotional confrontation, because of how Narumi treated her… Because of all of it.
Narumi hugs her, and it’s interesting that Hotaru and Narumi’s ploys to get Mikan angry are so short lived. As soon as she sees through them and acts on her own feelings, they give up. The ruse is over. Hotaru lets Mikan hug her, Narumi hugs her. Natsume keeps at it, though, because a small ruse is only part of a much larger whole. Mikan is constantly in this situation with Natsume, ignoring all the barbs and pain because she knows he’s hiding something important. This constant state of inference and insecurity is important because it will shift very soon.
Regardless, Mikan is exhausted. Not only has she used her alice, which is a physically taxing experience, but she’s just undergone an emotionally tiresome day. She rests in Narumi’s lap and all of his bitterness before has faded. What’s done is done. He will have to do what he has to in order to protect her from now on, and even Mikan knows that things will not be easy in the future.
Tumblr media
Gakuen Alice is a story about love in all its many flavors and variations (until the last chapter, that is).
It’s the rainy season, he muses. It’s almost been a full year since Mikan came to the academy.
Seasons are crucial to this story, particularly for Mikan’s arc. She has matured a lot since she came to the school, but she will continue to change and grow. We’re about to be in summer again, just like we were when we first opened this manga.
Conclusion
We're halfway through the transition arc. I'll try to post tomorrow. In any case, it'll be soon. We're officially halfway through the manga, but the next half should go by faster because after this point, there's plenty of "reactionary" chapters instead of active ones. There's nothing fun to analyze in "Oh my gosh! I can't believe this is happening to my mom in the past!" so there'll be some gaps.
I have finished this essay already, but I'm too lazy to estimate how many parts are left. I think we might make it to 35 because there's definitely more parts to Mikan's essay than Natsume's. Maybe. I don't know. In any case, I decided that I would make a table of contents post after I finish posting. That might make it easier to navigate for new and returning readers!
See y'all next time!

hey this is chance and here’s week 4’s prompt. how do strangers within the world view your protagonists? how would they describe them? and how does this contrast against how the protagonist views themself?
hi chance!!! i like this question very much hehe so i'm gonna crawl out of my little inactivity cave to answer it for both adriana & the undead and sutton and rockwell's story :) (specifically sutton, for s&r, because rockwell isn't quite as developed yet)
adriana & the undead
adriana is seen as somewhat of a pariah or an outcast by most people she tends to meet (or, at least, she is at first). as one of the only immortals in the world, she tends to draw attention wherever she goes, but because of the nature of her highly unusual circumstances, most people tend to avoid her. to mortals, she is an oddity, borderline subhuman. and the people of tallakeen are not overeager to engage with oddities. most would describe her as a freak, put simply. adriana sees herself in a similar light, whether she's consciously aware of it or not (outwardly, she is a selfish person who only cares about serving herself and couldn't care less about whether she is allowed to be part of society or not), which is why she is seeking a way out of her choice to be immortal. she doesn't truly want to be seen that way by others. she wants to be human again.
sutton & rockwell
sutton is highly desired by most who meet her, both because she is a beautiful and famous woman in a world where beauty and fame is desired, and because she is a vampire who uses her power to attract people (or, as she would refer to them, prey) to her. for many of the more scummy musicians in the rock n roll scene, she is essentially seen as an "achievement"; sleeping with the famous and mysterious groupie sutton quinn is something that will definitely earn you some brownie points in that particular objectifying sphere. but most people's descriptions of her would fall under the category of "confusing." for as famous as she is, the world just can't seem to make sense of her. very few people can say they truly know her—and the few who can say such things are wrong. as for how sutton views herself, she consciously views herself as essentially a goddess (being an immortal creature of the night can have the effect on some people). in her mind, she is the only person truly of consequence. however, beneath that belief, she is lonely. she still sees herself as above humans (to her, humans are mere food sources), but she also craves someone who understands her, because no human truly can.

important vanessa emily things below the cut
extreme tw for child death and child abuse given that em is the daughter of a serial killer and just in keeping with f.na.f lore
-so in my canon, vanessa's mother dies somewhat mysteriously when she's about six years old. i personally don't feel the need to expand upon the, like, where and how of it, but vanessa definitely saw something to incriminate william
-it was definitely something at night, where she was like groggy and confused and for that reason it's very easily written off by teachers, therapists, etc.
-vanessa tries to report what she saw but given that in her canon timeline it was the 1970s (she was born in 1973, making her around 27 at the time of the movie) no one took her very seriously. even in a contemporary timeline, the lack of evidence does her no favors
-things calm down, mainly because william realizes he cut it WAY too close. he also realizes he needs to regain vanessa's trust, especially as she gets older
-we'll say that vanessa was around 10 when freddy fazbear's pizza opened up (which would be a grand opening in 1983), and the murders happened around 1985 (which i believe is like canon to the timeline?? idk man)
-because it was a new business venture (and as vanessa would later learn, a trap) william spent most of his time there, which meant vanessa did too. it became an oasis. her dad seemed happy there, and all the staff liked her and looked out for her. nothing seemed wrong, so to her nothing was wrong
-while she still harbors an underlying fear of her father, he has been working very hard to erase it, and by the time fazbear's is open (i'm not including the diner in my canon bc i simply dont have the bandwidth ahh im sorry) vanessa has largely compartmentalized her fear of her father, considering it just like general teen angst
-but when the 1985 murders happen, vanessa is very, very aware
-i'm undecided on whether she witnessed them because this blog is still in its infancy and i need to do more research on ptsd in general but also like what van's trauma would look like specifically as the child of a murderer, etc
-but either way, vanessa knows about the murders within days of them happening (if not The day of) and william knows she knows
-he then becomes an extremely unstable presence in her life, alternating between manipulation, outright threats, and gaslighting. as a result, vanessa is extremely loyal to him and to freddy's out of sheer fear
-its rare that vanessa is at the pizzeria very late, but she has been there after hours and has encountered the animatronics when they are possessed by william's victims
-vanessa quickly figures out how to communicate with them. like we see in the movie, they aren't really violent unless provoked/under william's influence, especially when it comes to kids.
-it's not the healthiest thing, but vanessa actually develops relationships with the kids, and starts to take solace in them. sometimes, she regards them as siblings.
-the bite of 87 closes the place down right when vanessa is entering high school. she has a weird reputation because of it (she definitely goes from being somewhat popular among classmates just because she like has the hook up to like kind of a pariah just because people are freaked out)
-obviously the murders are never connected to afton but there are very likely rumors and that shit does come down on vanessa in school, especially once the place shuts down
-vanessa has a few outcast friends but again, there is a lot of fear that if she gets to involved william might hurt them too
-once she graduates, she goes to state school (idk if fnaf has a canon location but! i'll pick a state eventually probably) but she is very much under william's thumb the entire time
-william brings her into the fold once she graduates college, as he has learned that it's difficult to keep the security guards alive
-vanessa just straight up is not a cop. she's trained in first aid and knows how to use a gun, but this is all by william's design. all her gear is stolen and/or forged and she has had some close calls
-aside from still being deeply afraid for her life, vanessa is almost entirely dependent on william financially, and he does basically pay her as a full time employee keeping the guards in line, etc.
-vanessa has looked for ways out very frequently but often feels too afraid to pursue them or is otherwise intimidated out of it by her father.
-the events of the film go down in my canon as they go down in the movie
-vanessa eventually Does wake up from the coma, and as william is dead (that's right!! he's dead im not letting that bastard survive lol) the case gets opened up and all that
-im gonna look into whether or not she would go to jail for life lmao. realistically she totally might. even though vanessa is a victim of lifelong abuse and threats against her life she is still an accomplice to a lot of crime so? idk man
-BUT for convenience and rp's sake, vanessa undergoes the trial, faces public ridicule and vitriol, and eventually comes out the other side as emily laughlin. the legal name change doesn't protect her from all of the fallout of the pizzeria, but it does help)
-she becomes a barista and tries to keep her head down. shes dealing with a huge amount of trauma and is just generally all over the place, as she's never been given the opportunity to live her own life before.
-she definitely has a continuing relationship with mike (whether that's romantic or platonic is open to whatever) and of course abby, though they are probably her only links to Being Vanessa. i'm still deciding if the ghost kids remain, but i'm thinking with afton dead, they're able to pass on. which on one hand is beautiful, but it's also another loss for emily.
-all in all, emily is definitely very damaged from her ordeal, but at once is very eager to connect once she feels someone is trustworthy. her relationship with mike definitely has a lot to do with that, as he has proven to her that people Can Be trustworthy
-anyway that's my story and im sticking to it! pls love my baby i care her very much ok bye

Music of the Universe
Fandom: Overwatch
Very short summary: A short story with the aftermath of Sigma's abilities.
Warnings: None
The man's mind was in turmoil as he struggled to come to grips with the magnitude of his power. He had always felt like an outsider, like there was something fundamentally different about him that set him apart from everyone else. But he had never imagined that the cause of his isolation would turn out to be both a gift and a curse, of such epic proportions.
He looked around at the devastation he had wrought, and he could feel his heart breaking. He had never intended to cause so much pain and suffering, but he simply could not control the overwhelming force that surged within him.
The people in the crowd were pointing at him, shouting accusations and insults. Some of them looked like they wanted to attack him, while others just seemed frightened and confused. The man could feel their fear, their hatred, their disgust, and he knew that he deserved every bit of it.
But then, out of the chaos, he heard a faint cry. It was the voice of a little girl, trapped under a pile of rubble. The man's heart skipped a beat as he realized that he was the only one who could save her.
He rushed over to the spot where the girl was trapped, and as he looked into her terrified eyes, he knew what he had to do. Reaching his hands in front of himself,  he could feel the energy building up inside him, threatening to burst out at any moment. He began to hum to himself in an attempt to focus his turbulent mind, trying to channel the power into a force that could save the little girl without causing any harm.
And then, with a burst of light and sound, he lifted the rubble off the girl and set her free. And in the few seconds where the society around him grew silent with anticipation, he heard it. The music of the universe, singing to him.  The little girl looked up at him with a mixture of awe and gratitude, and the man felt a glimmer of hope in his heart. Maybe, just maybe, he could learn to control his power, to use it to help instead of harm.
But as he turned to face the crowd once again, he could see the looks of fear and hatred on their faces, and he knew that his struggle was far from over. He was a pariah, an outcast, a freak of nature. He was a danger to himself and to others, and he would have to spend the rest of his life trying to come to terms with the devastating power that he carried within him.
