I would pay an ungodly amount of money for a Supernatural finale where Dean rescues Cas from the Empty and tells him he loves him too, Eileen comes back to be with Sam, and Jack chooses to live with the four of them in the bunker as a happy family.

okay but you see sam has ALSO fallen for dean's act. sam also believes dean to be the macho, daddy's soldier, beer boobs cars guy he presents himself as. this is why sam makes fun of dean whenever he even lightly steps out of that mold and thinks it's harmless banter instead of attacking an insecurity. it's why he laughs when john talks down to dean in the early seasons and it's why he seems surprised when dean is more comfortable with himself in the later seasons. it's why he just scoffs but doesn't push it when dean puts up a front and refuses to talk about his emotions and just accepts whatever excuse he makes at face value. it's why he offers dean a strip club to make him feel better when cas dies. and this isn't his fault!! dean has spent a very long time perfecting this image in front of everyone and ESPECIALLY to sam because along with it comes safety and security and stability and the only person. who has consistently been able to see through it. is castiel

There is not a SINGLE thing I love more than Cas offering threatening to kill John Winchester. Cas would smite anything that tried to hurt Dean and he would be BEYOND pissed that someone Dean trusts as much as his father treats him like that. It is my favorite fucking thing. I implore people to make up stupid reasons in your fic for John Winchester and Castiel to be in the same room to make sure that Cas gets to fucking deck him.
The SPN writers were cowards when they made it so that John and Cas weren’t in the same room together during Lebanon because you better fucking believe that would have been the end for John in all timelines.

Toxic destiel fans that say sastiel had no chemistry only rely on the fact that they barely had screentime together because if they interacted more they would see they had so much more chemistry then destiel.
Its funny how-
- sam don't blame cas for everything almost every other episode
-He makes sure he's okay
-He understand him and doesn't push him
-They worry about each other
-Every time they meet after being separated they go hug each other first thing
-They held hands from the moment they met
-THEY LITERALLY HAVE A CHILD TOGETHER
and people still say destiel is better.
And for people saying
"jack was dean's kid" you are boring and close minded because yes they had their moments but did we forget that HE TRIED TO KILL HIM MULTIPLE TIMES??? while sam believed in him from the literal get go???

Jack: Why is everyone so obsessed with top or bottom? Honestly, I’d just be excited to have a bunk bed. Dean : Dean : I'm gonna tell them. Castiel: Don't you dare.

There is something that makes me deeply insane about Dean's bar in Nihilism that I've been trying to put words to since forever.
It's not just that Pamela is acting as his behavioral avatar, animating and speaking as if on cue. It's that Sam and Cas are still hunting.
And yeah, it's a pragmatic way for Michael to run an effective loop but—but—
—but it's also Dean symbolically entrusting Sam's well-being to Cas. Dean’s reliance on Cas is profound; it’s about Cas being a crucial part of the family, someone who will safeguard both himself and Sam in the way Dean has always done. Cas's support is what allows Dean to rest. And we see that come into play in a big way in Peace of Mind, too, where Cas steps in directly to mentor Sam about failing in leadership. It’s as though Cas is stepping into Dean's shoes in a way that’s not about replacing him, but about becoming a partner in the fullest sense. And in a way, Dean's trust in Cas to take on that role does begin to mirror the kind of deep, emotional partnership that one might expect between married partners. Dean knows that Cas has the strength, the patience, and the wisdom to guide Sam through these challenging moments, and he’s willing to let him.
And again, but here in a very literal way: Cas's support is what allows Dean to rest. They’re no longer just partners in battle or allies; they’re equals, sharing the weight of the world and taking on the roles that the other can’t or feels too overwhelmed to do.

It is finally the first day of the @crack-in-the-chassis postings! I am delighted to have collaborated with @friendofcarlotta on her hilarious Simpsons AU. Read it here:
Corner House of Horror
Get ready for a gallery of characters all acting silly, and of course an evil plot only the Winchesters can stop!
Tumblr media
When I read friendofcarlotta's fic, it was instantly obvious I had to try Matt Groening's style. As the title of the fic is inspired by the Simpsons Halloween Specials, "Treehouse of Horror", I tried my best to pay tribute to the promo posters they did for those episodes. The second art piece I did was just stuck in my mind, and impossible to resist making!
Thank you friendofcarlotta for being such an enthusiastic partner <3

finally put my finger on what bothers me about the setup for jack and dean's relationship. it's that i personally don't find it exciting or interesting to parentify someone who's been parentified for 30 years already. i know people disagree with me here and that's fine! but i feel that adding another layer of parentification without any meaningful change to the first layer is just. insult to injury i guess.
dean finally gets to tell mary what he went through and he forgives her and it seems like maybe he's going to get to be his own person, finally, with that weight off his back, and then one episode later cas and mary are gone and jack is there and sam needs him too. and sam pushes dean to push down his grief and parent jack. and that's it. dean becomes jack's parent. in some ways he's still acting on how he was parentified for sam. and that could be explored in interesting ways i suppose. i just don't find the execution compelling. in fact it just makes me really sad.

on season 14… I know some things were planned some weren’t / were met with network pushback whatever whatever… Dean and Cas were absolutely having some crazy emotional affair by mid-season even if they would never give it a name and Cas was regularly spending the night in his room even if he didn’t actually sleep…

Okay, I think I can finally share this now.
In my version of "Moriah" Chuck orders Jack to kill Castiel with the promise of bringing things back to how they were before all the mess they're in now, Mary included. Jack starts panicking and crying and is clearly being played but he's in no state to rationalize things so he starts blurting out all kinds of stuff and eventually resolves to actually do it. Sam and Dean are forced to watch by Chuck and are totally incapacitated just like us, hypothetical viewers, are made to watch Jack's tragedy as it unfolds.
But Castiel is okay with that and actually plans to do the deed himself in order to avoid at least this one pain in Jack's life so he comes close to Jack and holds his face in one hand while the other is ready for the blade. He needs to tell him one last thing before the end. They're both crying but somehow Cas find the courage to recite a different type of blessing over the children, one that of course doesn't involve God and it goes something like this:
Jack, don't cry. It's okay, it's okay.
I need to tell you something, Jack and I need you to listen carefully, okay? Okay, good.
Being elected as your father has been the greatest joy and honor of my life. Hey, it's okay, shhh, it's okay, listen to me.
It was a joy so great that I got scared, Jack. I'm sorry Jack but I got so scared. I didn't know it then but it was this gnawing fear of losing it all, of losing you, that made me make... many mistakes. It was this fear that prevented me from understanding who you really are, from seeing the truth. So here it is.
Jack, you were, are and always will be such a luminous, beautiful and important presence in this world. Ah, as a matter of fact, in any world. Because you're... you. And you are... amazing.
No, no, no listen to me now, please, shhh, it's okay: You have to know that whatever happens in your life, I will be there for you. No matter what, I will be by your side. If things will go wrong, I'll be there to give you my energy. If things will go right, I'll also be there to give you even more energy.
You must never forget that you're loved, Jack. Oh, look at you: my son...my son... I love you. So much.
Cas, in an instant, is ready with his angel blade but it's in this moment that the Shadow erupts into the world to take Castiel away: no reasoning, no strategic plan, nothing. The moment of happiness is the moment of unconditional love.
Chuck's frantic because this "unconditional love" thing wasn't in his script and yells that it was not supposed to happen this way, that he gave them the possibility to access everything they ever wanted, the price was just one self-loathing, doomed-anyway angel but it still wasn't enough for them, was it?
It's also the moment where Sam, briefly freed from Chuck's powers, gets his lucidity back and decides to pull the trigger on Chuck (and himself). In the background, Jack's screaming and crying so much that the mere force of his screams is enough to resurrect the whole cemetery but Cas is not coming back to him.
Chuck is wounded by Sam (who's also hurting in return) and is forced to flee. Dean is also wounded beyond repair and is like turned to stone and almost can't breathe because he's living, again, one of the worst moments of his life as we go back to a distorted, more messed-up version of s12 finale and to the beginning of Jack's tragic story.
Jack is spiralling and he's out of control and out of himself as he starts opening woundsrifts after rifts through dimensions and worlds looking for Chuck, looking for the Empty, looking for whatever comes first at this point because he's moved by the dangerous, unpredictable and explosive bomb that is revenge spurred by love. Until Billie finds him.

the mixtape is dean's reciprocation to cas' "I love you." and so cas tries to return it when dean is mad at him. he thinks he doesn’t deserve it anymore. but love "is a gift," and so dean gives it back. "you keep those." he's angry, yes, but that doesn't mean the love isn't there anymore. and he wants cas to carry it with him. always.

18+ Only, please. Fluff with some bad language, but just fluff.
My Masterlist is here
My budding Destiel one is here
The sudden sway of Baby veering to the side of the road startled him awake. Dean jerks the wheel in time to avoid the ditch the rumble strips vibrating beneath Baby’s tires and making his teeth itch.
He straightens on the road, patting Baby’s consol in apology.
Fuck, he’s tired.
Exhausted.
He’s long past the ability to stay awake about thirty miles ago. Every time he blinks his eyes droop becoming harder to keep open, but each time Baby veers it reminds him how close they are.
Dean thinks about waking Sam to swap, but one look at his little brother changed his mind. Dean looks at the man, he frowns, seeing Sam curled to rest against the window. His body sags into the seat with his face sticking to the glass. The left side of Sam’s face is all torn up thanks to a date he had with some gravel. The right side ain’t any better with an eye swollen shut and a bruise that’s gonna hurt like hell.
He almost feels the headache he’s gonna have tomorrow.
Sam’s asleep beside him, forehead rubbed raw, lips pressed into a frown. The black eye loks worse each time he peeks.
He almost asks him to wake up.
Forty minutes has never felt so long. He doesn’t dare turn the music on, despite it helping keep him awake. He’d rather not wake up Sam until they’re home.
He doesn't.
Sammy needs the rest and they’re only forty minutes away from the bunker.
Twenty minutes.
His bed will feel amazing.
He’d put his throbbing feet up, rest his aching elbow, and refuse to move until Cas agrees to rub his shoulders and never wake him up again.
Fuck, missing Cas was the worst part.
“Someone must stay with Jack.” He was right.
Coming home to a three-year-old, tow-headed little boy sitting on Cas’s hip in the kitchen leaves him gobsmacked.
They are dads now. Actual dads.
Things needed to change
Jack was a real child now.
He’s still powered up, the little nugget; making the Winchesters the new and approved Three Men and a baby running 24/7.
They didn’t hunt as often, passing any cases off to the younger guys. When they’re asked to help, they spun ideas until deciding someone must stay with Jack. They started switching off after that.
Dean knew raising a kid was exhausting.
He was a damn kid himself trying to raise Sammy with nothing to help.
Jack is different, but not so much. He’ll always be the sweet guy with a bright smile and an awkward hand wave, but that doesn’t stop him from being a graced-up nuisance. Once the kid realized he knew how to open doors, they had to baby-proof everything they could.
Do you know how hard it is to baby-proof a hunter organization bunker?
Thinking of baby-proofing the bunker seemed to wake him up some
It brings forth the image of Jack running into the living room with a small lion club. That had been a damn shock. Jack proclaimed, loud and proud, that he’d turned his stuffie into an actual cat.
That took Sam’s life several decades, giving Cas gray hair.
Dean thought it was funny.
A week later, he did it again only with his bee stuffie, and ran around with it as it tried to get a taste of Dean.
Dean didn’t think it was funny.
Sam and Cas did.
They learned early on the best thing to do was distract him and get the kid focusing on something else, like a trip to the water park or a promise to get another snake. It’s easier to calm him down when he changes his new friend back.
The control Jack has over his powers is another shocker. The kid was three years old and could teleport them to his favorite park as easily as he could tear a hole in the wall when he forgot Cas was now human.
Thankfully, healing powers are a part of the package, too.
Potty trainone Nephilim to get a free pool in the basement.
When he pulled into the garage, he felt his body sigh in relief.
He’s so close.
Waking Sam up takes a while. It took three tries before his brother cracked his eyes open, groaning when he saw the light of the garage.
Dean feels bad for the poor guy. He had to drug him to the gills to get him into the car.
He helps open his door, ignoring the pain in his arm and the pang when he bends his knee. He gets Sam to his feet and catches him — barely.
“Come on, little brother.” He yawns. jaw cracking. “Let’s get you to bed.” Shuffling Sam up the stairs through the doorway isn’t as easy as it used to be. He used to lean Sam close to him, keeping him propped and safe like the best big brother he is.
Now he’s a lumbering giant who doesn’t know how to operate his feet.
Sam drops from his hands the moment his shins hit the bed. A loud groan followed by whimpers and Dean sighs.
“Alright buddy.” Dean slips his boots off, removing his socks, then struggles to get the sasquatches jacket off.
Sam doesn’t flinch or give any sign he's aware of his brother tucking him in — well — getting a pillow over his head and laying a sheet over him. Dean knows the nightmare that’s Sam’s night sweats and didn’t want to listen to him complain about laundry.
He makes a mental note to check on him through the night.
He bypasses the kitchen and keeps walking until he hears low voices. His door is open, a crack wide enough to let the television light streak the floor.
He follows the thin line, shrugging his jacket off and unbuttoning his shirt.
Something squishes between his fingers.
He jumps, shaking his hand erratically until whatever it has gone the fuck away.
His door opens, painting the hallway with blue and yellow light.
Cas steps around the door, raising a brow at Dean.
“Hey.” He whispers.
Cas closes the door behind him. “You’re home.”
“Yeah.” He spreads his arms out, shaking them and flinching at the dull ache in his muscles.
Cas rolls his eyes, stepping in the circle of his arms and nosing his chin. His hair tickles Dean’s nose, more salty than dark. The shampoo he uses smells like apricots; at night he tucks closer to Cas and breathes it in.
“You need a shower.”
“Yep,” Dean knocks his head back, “I know. I’m dead, though, man. I think Sammy’s got a concussion, and my elbow is not in the right place.”
“Well,” Cas hums, “Where’d you leave it?”
He grins, squeezing his angel closer.
Kissing Cas is the greatest thing he’s ever done.
The day he tugged the man towards his chest, twisting his stupid trench coat in his hands.
When Dean Winchester said fuck it to Chuck, Lucifer, Death, and anything and everything that has ever taken the angel away from him.
That day, Dean Winchester, saw the light.
He’d spent over a decade staring into vibrant blue eyes, feeling his heart burn in his chest. Too long he pushed and pushed Cas away, kept himself from touching the angel and it was over.
Nothing could top kissing Cas
Well, Cas kissing him back for sure does.
“Come on.” The man pulls back. “Let’s get you undressed and cleaned off.”
“I’m down for the undressing.” He winks.
Cas rolls his eyes. The door opens, peeking his head in. Dean waits until he gets a nod and then follows his boyfriend into their room.
Jack is on the bed.
Jack is taking up the bed.
How a five-year-old Nephilim can take up a whole queen-sized bed, Dean will never know.
“He slept in his big kid bed for nap time, but he wanted to wait for you.”
“Look how that turned out.”
Even asleep, the kid looks like Cas. His brow furrowed, mouth pressed into a line. The arm thing he gets from Sam, he’s the only other creature he knows that sleeps with his arms straight out.
Full spread eagle.
“Guy knows how to sleep, I’ll give him that.” He toes his boots off, groaning when the pressure releases.
Cas lifts Jack off the bed, resting him over his shoulder. “I’m going to put him in his room. You get undressed, and I’ll help you shower.” His eyes trail down his body and back up, holding his own.
That’s a look.
Then he’s out the door, Jack’s face pressed onto his shoulder, mouth open with drool dangling from his mouth.
Dean groans when he undoes his pants, letting them drop to the floor. The only thing left on him was worn-out briefs. He’s not even sure these are his briefs, not completely sure these are Cas’s either.
Doing laundry is hell around here.
He looks up at the bed, hoping to see the remote. He saw Jack’s blanket and sippee cup instead.
The little Avengers one Eileen got him for Christmas.
(That had been an argument he thought he’d won. Who gets him Marvel shit? Batman, dude, Batman.)
It’s scratched from several encounters with walls, floors, and people standing in its way.
Literally.
Jack will cry for it and the damn thing will come flying out of nowhere.
“Ah yes,” Cas takes the blanket after straightening, “wouldn’t want him to wake up without his protective blanket.”
Knocked Dean off his ass once and had him running after with a gun.
Cas is crouched down, leaning in to look into Jack’s play tent. Dean ain’t gonna lie, looking at his angel’s ass? That’s an old habit that will never die.
“Heaven forbid.”
Cas drapes the blanket over their son, smoothing out the wild hair near his ear, and bends to kiss him. He stays down there for a moment or two, whispering over Jack, a protection spell he uses every night.
Dean doesn’t understand the words but when Cas speaks them, brushing his finger over Jack’s nose, it makes him think of the last time he saw Jack, and his heart aches. The kid deserves more than they can give him, but damn if he, Sam and Cas are gonna do their fucking best.
“Come on,” Cas moves past Dean, “Let’s get you cleaned up.”
He follows, feeling his legs drag, eyes growing heavy. Between one blink and the next, he's beside the bed. Cas, helping him strip out of his clothes. His shirt is a bloody mess, mud caked into the stains, and there’s a long tear where he missed a knife to the gut just so. Cas shakes his head at him and helps Dean shed the shirt.
His fingers follow the path of blood trails, over bruises on his chest and a gash on his side. For how tired he is he didn’t get it as bad as Sam.
Cas hums “You’re not as hurt as I expected. Tired?”
“Should go check on, Sammy. He’s been to the butcher and back.”
“Exhausted.” Another hum. Then he’s kneeling to help Dean kick off his jeans. His boots are heavy when Cas lifts his foot. He drops on the bed, sinking into his beloved memory foam. It’s conforming to him, drawing him in, and he has enough forethought to lift his hips before sinking deeper.
“You know,” He yawned, “I might take that shower tomorrow. We’ll change the sheets.” His body is heavy, weighing down to the bed, the blanket soft under his hand, and he knows if he curls up with his pillow he’ll be out in seconds.
Cas doesn’t respond, but he helps scoot Dean further up the bed. He moves him carefully enough not to disrupt his injuries.
Dean blinks, slow and long.
Cas is gone for a moment, seeding panic into his chest until he feels his hands trail over his chest, dragging a cold cloth.
“You sleep,” He said faintly. “I’ll clean you up, then I will check on Sam.”
All Dean heard was sleep.
He tries to mumble somewhere along the lines of I love you, but he’s not sure what came out.
_
Castiel checks on Sam after cleaning Dean up and discarding his underwear.
He makes sure that Dean is comfortable and sleeping before he ventures to the younger Winchesters’ room. The light is still on, giving Castiel a clear view of the oversized man sprawled out.
Spread Eagle.
Just like their son.
