AN OPEN LETTER to THE U.S. CONGRESS
Protect IVF! Pass HR 7056 / S. 3612 the Access to Family Building Act!
796 so far! Help us get to 1,000 signers!
As a concerned constituent, I’m emailing to urge you to cosponsor H.R. 7056 / S. 3612 the Access to Family Building Act and demand it receive a vote.
The Alabama court ruling on IVF shows we need federal protection for the right to access IVF and other services that help people start or grow a family. The Access to Family Building Act would do that and protect families and doctors from criminalization. Will you sign onto this bill and publicly call for a vote on it? I will only support lawmakers that actively fight for reproductive freedom.

Parental alienation can be emotionally devastating, particularly for parents navigating contentious custody battles. If you’re experiencing this, it’s essential to understand the legal services in Aventura, Florida available to you. Parental alienation, one of the common issues in family law cases, occurs when one parent manipulates a child into rejecting the other parent, often leading to emotional harm. Fortunately, legal remedies exist to protect your parental rights and the well-being of your child.

Parental Rights in Florida Advocating for Justice
In Florida, the landscape of parental rights is crucial in safeguarding the well-being of children and their custodial parents. We envision a world where the law and the courts protect and prioritize these rights, free from legal loopholes that can create confusion and hardship. Every child deserves a stable and loving environment, and every parent should have the security to nurture their relationship without fear of unjust interference.
Tumblr media
Our goal is to ensure that no child or parent will endure the pain and injustice that Robert and his daughter have faced. Their story highlights the urgent need for reform in parental rights, emphasizing that the law must evolve to reflect the best interests of children. By advocating for clear, fair regulations, we can create a system that champions family integrity and supports the rights of both children and custodial parents, fostering a brighter future for all families in Florida. Visit us to know more about Parental rights in Florida.

Ontario Superior Court of Justice seeking a declaration
I also told Olivia that if she finished her final year of high school I would support her financially to attend any university she wished, including the University of Miami. I had never had any intention of attempting to withdraw Olivia’s application, and had never suggested to Olivia that I would do so. What I had requested, however, from the University of Miami, was Olivia’s file to confirm my suspicions that Tika had illegally intervened in my sole custody of Olivia by signing her admissions papers. Olivia’s life with me in Ontario had been fraught with Tika’s illegal and abusive interference ever since Tika had chosen to move away to Florida, including her illegal abduction of Olivia in Florida in 2014. Finally, in the beginning of April 2016.
Tumblr media
I initiated a motion in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice seeking a declaration that Tika had breached my sole-custody court orders. Tika responded with an affidavit in which, among other things, she denied being involved in Olivia’s application process for the University of Miami, and denied signing the admissions papers. Thus, the real reason why JFCY was attempting to gain a court order for Olivia’s independence had nothing to do with Olivia being afraid that I would stop her from going to the University of Miami. It was Tika’s frantic attempt to use Olivia, as a legally independent person, with JFCY’s help, to legally block me from obtaining the admissions file from the University of Miami that Tika had surreptitiously signed, in breach of my court-ordered sole custody of Olivia.
However, unknown to Tika and JFCY, the university had already released the file to me the day before JFCY, with Olivia, applied for independence, and had mailed the documents to my lawyer in Florida, which he received a few days later, proving that Olivia’s mother had indeed contravened the Sole custody rights.

listen I know it's heartbreaking that Claudia dies and it's understandable to wish she didn't, but let's please not accuse the writers of fridging her. to do so is a fundamental misunderstanding of the story and is frankly insulting to the intelligence and skill of the writers of the show.
Claudia's death, and the overwhelming grief and regret her parents experience because of it, is quite literally the point of the entire story. she dies because Anne's daughter Michele died of leukemia when she was five years old and there was nothing she or her husband could do to prevent it.
writing IWTV was how Anne coped with the unimaginable loss of a parent losing her child. she created a story about a little girl that could not die and then killed her anyway. Claudia's death is a senseless, unavoidable tragedy, just like Michele's was. the grief that haunts Louis and Lestat for the rest of their lives is the same grief that haunted Anne and her husband.
so when you're accusing people of killing Claudia off to benefit a story about two men, please remember that in real life sometimes parents lose their children. please remember Michele Rice.

she's the reason Claudia exists.
she's also the reason Claudia cannot be saved.

The funniest thing Stranger Things could do is reveal that Steve’s parents are like, really liberal. They donate to AIDs research. They were arrested protesting the Vietnam War. They campaigned for Mondale. Steve tells them that Nancy broke up with him and they’re like, “Thank god, that family believes in Reaganomics.”

"we want to protect the kids!!"
— in a way that will also protect them from their parents & guardians right?
"what"
— if a parent or guardian wanted to abuse their child, would what you're trying to do make it harder for them?
"..."
— *pulls out a chart that shows 76% of abused children were victimized by a parent or legal guardian* will what you're advocating for make it easier for the majority child abusers, which is overwhelmingly parents & guardians, to get away with abuse?
"idk what this has to do with anything we just want to restrict children's freedoms more & give parents more control over them. you know. to protect them from adults who want to abuse them"
Every. Single. Time.

i love the trope of Bruce's kids being yoinked by different parent figures in their lives, and the kids knowing full well and using it to their advantage when they've got any problems with him.
Tim, pissed at Bruce: That's it, I'm staying with Shiva for the week. Cass is now my official sister 2/3 of the way.
Cass, grinning: Baby brother.
Jason, annoyed with Bruce (more than usual): 'Kay I'm gonna go bunker up with Talia for a bit before I put a bullet through you. Cya.
Damian: Say hi to her for me.
Jason, with finger guns on the way out: Will do.
Dick, needing a break from Bruce (again): If anyone needs me I'll be in Kansas.
Tim, nodding: Understandable.
Steph: Kansas?
Dick: I need Uncle Clark therapy.
Duke: Alright I'm gonna go crash at Jeff's for a bit.
Cass: B?
Duke: ... A bit overbearing. I'll tell Anissa you said hi.
Cass, grinning: Good. Bring back Grace's cookies.
Duke, laughing: Got it.

whenever right wing people talk about “parental rights” they are talking about property rights. they are arguing for further political and legal enshrinement of their children as their literal actual property

Where is my Portal?!
So! Heroes have a bad habit of stealing Technology when they need it.
The Flash usually stole from Star Labs or any of the dozens of smaller Labs in Central City. Batman was suspected to steal Tech from Wayne Enterprises to build his gadgets. Even Superman stole from Lexcorp every once in a while, although that was more understandable considering their history.
Heroes, despite their main job being to stop people from stealing, were not exactly paragons of The Law. They committed crimes on occasion to stop Villains, and most people just agreed to ignore the tiny crimes every now and then.
Now the Big Crimes, that was a different story. Taking the big important pieces of Tech from these Labs was definitely liable to get people made at them.
All this to say, Danny was not amused when he walked into his Personal Lab one morning only to find his Whole-Ass Portal missing from it's spot in the Wall.

Learning that fans hated Applejack and called her "boring" is crazyyy to me because I genuinely, unironically believe AJ's the most complex character in the main six.
Backstory-wise, she was born into a family of famers/blue collar workers who helped found the town she lives in. She grew up a habitual liar until she had the bad habit traumatized outta her. She lost both her parents and was orphaned at a young age, having to step up as her baby sister's mother figure. She's the only person in the main gang who's experienced this level of loss and grief (A Royal Problem reveals that AJ dreams about memories of being held by her parents as a baby). She moved to Manhattan to live with her wealthy family members, only to realize she'll never fit in or be accepted, even amongst her own family. The earlier seasons imply she and her family had money problems too (In The Ticket Master, AJ wants to go to the gala to earn money to buy new farm equipment and afford hip surgery for her grandma).
Personality-wise, she's a total people-pleaser/steamroller (with an occasional savior complex) who places her self worth on her independence and usefulness for other people, causing her to become a complete workaholic. In Applebuck Season, AJ stops taking care of herself because of her obsessive responsibilities for others and becomes completely dysfunctional. In Apple Family Reunion, AJ has a tearful breakdown because in she thinks she dishonored her family and tarnished her reputation as a potential leader –– an expectation and anxiety that's directly tied to her deceased parents, as shown in the episode's ending scene. In The Last Roundup, AJ abandons her family and friends out of shame because believes she failed them by not earning 1st place in a rodeo competition. She completely spirals emotionally when she isn't able to fulfill her duties toward others. Her need to be the best manifests in intense pride and competitiveness when others challenge her. And when her pride's broken, she cowers and physically hides herself.
Moreover, it's strongly implied that AJ has a deep-seated anger. The comics explore her ranting outbursts more. EQG also obviously has AJ yelling at and insulting Rarity in a jealous fit just to hurt her feelings (with a line that I could write a whole dissection on). And I'm certain I read in a post somewhere that in a Gameloft event, AJ's negative traits are listed as anger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Subtextually, a lot of these flaws and anxieties can be (retroactively) linked to her parents' death, forcing her to grow up too quickly to become the adult/caregiver of the family (especially after her big brother becomes semiverbal). Notice how throughout the series, she's constantly acting as the "mom friend" of the group (despite everything, she manages to be the most emotionally mature of the bunch). Notice how AJ'll switch to a quieter, calmer tone when her friends are panicking and use soothing prompts and questions to talk them through their emotions/problems; something she'd definitely pick up while raising a child. Same with her stoicism and reluctance at crying or releasing emotions (something Pinkie explicitly points out). She also had a childhood relationship with Rara (which, if you were to give a queer reading, could easy be interpreted as her first 'aha' crush), who eventually left her life. (Interestingly enough, AJ also has an angry outburst with Rara for the same exact reasons as with EQG Rarity; jealous, upset that someone else is using and changing her). It's not hard to imagine an AJ with separation anxiety stemming from her mother and childhood friend/crush leaving. I'm also not above reading into AJ's relationship with her little sister (Y'all ever think about how AB never got to know her parents, even though she shares her father's colors and her mother's curly hair?).
AJ's stubbornness is a symptom of growing up too quickly as well. Who else to play with your baby sister when your brother goes nonverbal (not to discount Big Mac's role in raising AB)? Who else to wake up in the middle of the night to care for your crying baby sister when your grandma needs her rest? When you need to be 100% all the time for your family, you tend to become hard-stuck with a sense of moral superiority. You know what's best because you have to be your best because if you're aren't your best, then everything'll inevitably fall apart and it'll be your fault. And if you don't know what's best –– if you've been wrong the whole time –– that means you haven't been your best, which means you've failed the people who rely on you, which means you can't fulfill your role in the family/society, which makes you worthless . We've seen time and time again how this compulsive need to be right for the sake of others becomes self-destructive (Apple Family Reunion, Sound of Silence, all competitions against RD). We've seen in The Last Roundup how, when no longer at her best, AJ would rather remove herself from her community than confront them because she no longer feels of use to them.
But I guess it is kinda weird that AJ has "masculine" traits and isn't interested in men at all. It's totally justified that an aggressively straight, misogynistic male fandom would characterize her as a "boring background character." /s
At the time of writing this, it's 4:46AM.
