I need Anthony and Colin to be tired and happy dads in the next season. I need them walking around carrying their babies and showing them up to everybody saying, "Look what my beautiful and perfect wife created."
Bonus, Benedict making fun of them but secretly wanting one.

Sometimes I think about how Anthony wanted a marriage without love because of the way his mother loves,
Because he was terrified of someone loving him the way his mother loved his father

Then, he falls in love with Kate and it turns out that he loves in exactly the same way as his mother

The Bridgertons definitely give me the vibe of the type of family to be competitive when it comes to spoiling children, but this becomes especially prevalent when Kate and Anthony reveal they are expecting and baby Eddy is finally born. There's a score sheet for who brought the most items, who receives the most smiles and laughs (when Colin is in the lead, Eloise proclaims that baby Edmund is just suffering from gas because she's totally not a sore loser) and so on so forth. Benedict lets him play with his paint sets, much to his parents and Violet's dismay. One time he commented, jokingly, that he saw baby Edmund being a great painter and a vein nearly burst from Anthony's forehead.
When Daphne catches word of this competition, she quickly drags Simon into it, spending more time carrying her nephew than his own father (who is totally not jealous and seeks every opportunity he can to steal him away). Imagine the family's surprise when a crate arrives from Prussia thanks to aunt Edwina, filled with an arrangement of toys and fine clothing from different parts of the world, supplying baby Edmund (more so his parents) with an endless selection than what he knows what to do with.
(Kate and Anthony quickly put forth boundaries, attempting to halt any further attempts of their family's splurging and excessive spoiling. The rest of the Bridgertons, however, add another opponent to their list. Baby Edmund is just happy for the ride.)

One I thing I have personally really appreciated about Bridgerton is seeing Violet interacting with her children in different ways and being portrayed differently in each season. I don’t mean for this to be a super negative post about her just that I think people tend to ignore the real disparities in how parents treat different children and usually when it is brought up it’s minimized to ‘having a favorite.’
But there’s so much depth in Bridgertons portrayal of Violets relationships with her individual children and how much they are affected deeply by society, trauma, her personal feelings etc. Parents are genuinely influenced by these things and it is unfortunately projected differently onto different kids, whether that is because of outside forces or clashing personalities or something else entirely it’s often glossed over or handled poorly in media.
Coming from a loving family doesn’t necessarily say much about what someone went through growing up and often love is only a small part of the equation. Despite Violet loving all her children they have had very different lives and experiences related to her parenting and you can clearly see that with each one of them.
First you have Daphne who is generally taken with the whole idea of being a debutante and the idea of romance which is very relatable to Violets character and their relationship (from what I remember) paints a generally idyllic picture of the family.
Then you have Anthony who is at the other end of the spectrum entirely, he has gone through extreme trauma and been neglected, abandoned, and parentified to an intense degree. We see him struggle with poor self esteem, anxiety, and imposter syndrome as he tries to step up during the worst time of his life. He has to bear the weight of Violets grief as well as his own and raise his siblings and handle the estate meaning that he has had an incredibly different parental relationship with her.
Benedict and Colin both seem to receive some light chastisement and a bit of meddling from Violet about their choices and finding a match but are generally not bothered by it and both seem to be relatively content in their relationships with her which again is very different to what some of the siblings experience.
Eloise also struggles with her relationship with Violet, albeit in a very different way to Anthony and for very different reasons, but it’s coming from a place of not wanting to disappoint Violet while also not wanting to be someone she’s not. I think Violet generally handles this as well as she’s able within the confines of the time period and despite hurting Eloise she seems to be coming from a place of trying to help her find her place within a framework that already exists but still in a way that’s authentic.
Francesca also seems to have a primarily positive relationship with Violet but there is some pain surrounding their differences and how Violet and her siblings fail to understand her or meet her where she is at, leaving her as the outlier of her family and struggling with loneliness because of it.
I don’t think I’ve seen enough with Gregory and Hyacinth to see get a very good idea of those relationships but they seem happy and content, they also haven’t really gone through the trauma of losing a parent the way their siblings have which was a very pivotal moment for the rest of the family. Whereas Violet and Anthony are the only parents they ever really know.
The point of all of this is just that I think this is so important to the storylines and really lends the Bridgerton family a lot of depth that makes them much more realistic together and individually compared to how families usually work. The siblings are different people who all have very different relationships with their mother and are treated in observably different ways, for better or for worse, and from my personal experience this is much more realistic than the average dynamics portrayed on TV.

Collection of one shots revolving around Anthony comforting his siblings while they are injured or sick.
CHAPTER Two - Gregory - The Attack of the Playpen.
Anthony is 19 and Gregory is 2.
Anthony groaned and rubbed his eyes; he had been sitting in the study at Aubrey Hall for the last few hours going through the estate books and banking statements. Benedict had taken the Colin and the girls to the village to give him a moments peace and the nanny was with H upstairs. Gregory on the other hand was sitting in a play pen by the window happily playing with his toys a babbling to himself. Anthony remembers his father doing the same for Ben and Colin when they were younger, and their mother needed a break from all three of them.
Anthony laughed then Gregory pulled himself up using the walls of the playpen for leverage, “Such a clear little man!” he said cheerfully clapping his hands in encouragement. Gregory smiled a gummy smile in response and proceeded to stamp his little bare feet against the blanket Anthony has put down and Anthony smiled back before going back to his papers. Seeming to lose interest in standing up Gregory fell back onto his bottom and started playing with his toys again. The two brothers played and worked in relative silence for the new few minutes, said silence only broken by the sound of Anthony’s pen and Gregory smashing his toys to get and laughing to himself.
Anthony was in the middle of writing cheques for the children school fees when Gregory gave a loud scream of pain and started to cry. Anthony dropped his pen and rushed over to the play pen scroop up the crying boy onto his hip. Gregory had a small bleeding cut on his chin and big fat tears were rolling down his flushed cheeks. Anthony looked into the play pen to search for offending object that has caused the small cut and saw a building block with a tiny spec of blood on it’s corner. Gregory had been playing with it when Anthony had glanced up a before and hadn’t given it a moment thought. He pulled a tissue out of his pocket and wiped the tiny trickle of blood that was running down Gregory’s chin.
“OH such a grievance my little man!” Anthony said using the same tissue to wipe away some of Gregory’s tears. “Shhhh….shhhh,” Anthony cooed as he started to pace around the study bouncing Gregory in his arms, “Did the bad block hurt you? Oh noo…” He continued to soothe and when Gregory's cries continued and went up in octave he laughed and caught himself with a bite of his lip.
“Come now little man, such a noise!” He said pulling a funny face trying to calm down the little boy. It somewhat worked and Gregory’s cries turned in little sobs as he tried to catch his breath. Anthony moved the little boy, so his head was resting in the crook of Anthony neck and shoulder, and he continued to pace.
“Is everything okay my Lord?”
Anthony spun around to see their nanny, Kate, standing at the door with baby H in her arms. Anthony moved Gregory back to his hip and ran a hand over the little boys back, “We have had a minor disagreement with a block. Poor Gregory has been brutally attacked!” He said tickling the little boys stomach. Gregory gave a little giggle but still continued to give little sobs and buried his head in Anthony’s shoulder. Kate stuck out her bottom lip and gave Gregory a little wave.
“Shall we swap? I can clean him up and he is due a nappy chance anyway.” Kate said moving Hyacinth, so she was holding her with one arm. Anthony nodded, “Do you want to go with Miss Kate?” he said running a hand through Gregory’s messy curls trying to flatten them the best he could. The little boy nodded sadly and yet still reached his arms out for her and with a small shuffle the adults swapped the children with a practiced ease. Anthony waved Hyacinth little hand at Gregory and Kate as they left the study and when they were gone, he held Hyacinth out in front of him, blew a raspberry on her little stomach and was rewarded with a loud laugh from his baby sister.
“Hello my little love, shall we sit a while?” Anthony said to Hyacinth who stared down at him with their mothers eyes, “I think so” he said taking a seat on the lounge that was by the wide window. He sat with his back against the armrest and propped up Hyacinth on his knees, “Did you have a good day?” he asked playing with her hands and watching as she smiled at the sound of his voice.
A father wasn’t something that Anthony though he would be at eighteen, but looking down at the tiny baby he knew that he would never have a more important job. The title, the running of the estate and even his own schooling at Oxford would never been more important than the little life that was resting on his knees. He would put every one of his siblings before himself and he would spend the rest of the life insuring that they were happy and provided for. For he was now father, mother and brother to six children that has known more heartbreak in their small life then most adults would in their whole big life. Giving Hyacinth a smile he brought her up to rest on his chest and held her tightly to him placing a soft kiss on her head. He felt as she started to drift off and closed his eyes too, the sun casting them in a warm glow as they both fell into a peaceful nap.

i wonder about jace's words from the episode 7 preview because they are a bit weird considering what he said in episode 5 re:valyrian supremacy propaganda but i get how it's more like a member of the aristocracy fearing too much power going to the peasantry, especially when they are already in a risky position. also, is he going to be appeased or be even more destroyed by corlys maybe claiming and pushing for legitimizing addam as his laenor's bastard son? or will he suggest it himself and say actually this peasant man has been one of us all along and that is why he was able to ride a dragon?
this is all on top of rhaenyra refusing to let him take action and getting mad when he took initiative and accomplished something, while taking action herself without telling her council or even just jace, and then not being in on the secret plans she hatched with mysaria. this all feels like some setup for jace to be even more desperate to prove himself as a worthy heir, and then there are mentions of the triarchy and prince reggio and the gay abandon. i want this season to end now before The Thing happens.

this is one of my favorite scenes in the series, and for many reasons, but mostly because of how raw and open it is. Violet’s apology to Anthony is something he’s needed to hear for years, and in this moment he’s just a child needing his mother to be a mother to him. He’s not the head of the Bridgerton estate, he’s not the Viscount, he’s Anthony- Violets son and child, and he needs that motherly touch and hold and to not be the figurehead in this moment in time for once. And in the same sense Violet perfectly encapsulating her grief with Edmund and how it’s changed her entire worldview since his passing, especially in the way she treats Anthony and the rest of the children as a result, is just so well done and executed near to perfection in my opinion. Violets advice to Anthony about embracing the unknown simply to be able to exist in a space with Kate rather than not have that existent at all is so raw and vulnerable. Violet makes it known that even though she carries this weight and guilt with her, she would go through it all over again if it meant she could have the life she loved with Edmund and have the children they did, because it would all be worth it. It’s just a mother and son working through their grief over their relationship and everything that’s influenced it.
