Dumbest idea ever

Some older models of the ps4 (2013-2014?) have 16 ram chips instead of eight of the later models even thought they all have 8GB of RAM. 1GB gddr5 chips are abt 2-5 bucks apiece. So hear me out…16GB ps4 mod

There is basically no reason for this cause the ps4 isn’t really fast enough to use all of it for an application before ram become a bottleneck besides like Linux vms and stuffs.

I have no experience whatsoever in homebrew, modding, and the whatnot to even attempt to think beyond a concept

Anyone with any knowledge give their thoughts abt this?

since everyone in this fandom and their mum seem to be giving their piece about the ‘update’ coming to Hogwarts Legacy on the 6th, i figured id give my piece even if no one has asked

ive been seeing a lot of posts and replies about how “we should just take what we get and be grateful” and “the devs are working hard, do you know how hard game development is?”

im very aware of how difficult game development can be and how mentally taxing it is. i dont doubt that they’ve been through the mill.

the update is trash. its that simple. we’re allowed to feel upset about it, and for people saying that its not fair to be upset — it is fair. we shouldnt have to expect the bare minimum from a game that sold 22 million copies and reached nearly 2 billion dollars in revenue, a game that had 14 nominations for awards and 3 wins.

we were told we were getting a summer update alongside the Haunted Hogsmeade quest — the quest they promised to release to PC and Xbox in march when the game celebrated one year of release. they said, and i quote;

“As we near the one-year anniversary of Hogwarts Legacy, we wanted to let our community know that the Hogwarts Legacy PlayStation-exclusive content will be available on other platforms later this summer, along with additional updates and features for the game. Stay tuned in the coming months for more details on what’s coming to Hogwarts Legacy this year.” copy and pasted straight from Hogwarts Legacy’s official twitter page. along with additional updates and features to the game.

yes — i know, thats a very vague statement. it could have been taken in any way, but typically when additional updates and features — plural — is put into a sentence, you assume that there will be more than one new feature. it wasnt wrong for the community to assume that there was more than a few new additions coming to the game.

okay, we got photo mode — thats great for console players, but it isnt new for us PC players. im happy for my console buddies that finally get to bring their mc to life in the way ive been able to. im looking forward to seeing the uptick in photos upon the updates release. PC and Xbox got the new haunted hogsmeade quest, and thats great, considering the release of it was delayed by 3 months, but atleast we’re getting it. but basically. PS5 was fucked in the process, because everything minus photo mode is stuff they already had, and honestly, thats not fair. and double honest — thats not an update. thats the release of exclusive content plus a new addition.

for several months a summer update was hyped up, and the result was…. ps5 getting fucked, a photo mode that im going to bet my ass on will be buggy as all hell, and some cosmetics. so no — i wont be grateful. especially when we keep getting promised things and then getting fucked by a hot iron in the process. because i havent forgotten the documentary that was supposed to come out, and i still remember during September when they hyped up a digital surprise for Back to Hogwarts day and it ended up being 30 percent off on a game most of us already had, only for the game to go on sale for half off the following Nov/Dec for the holiday sales.

since the release of the game, modders have been basically picking up the slack by working their asses off to create bug fixes, better cosmetic options, enhanced schedules, companions, and so much more to keep the community somewhat entertained. this as well as the file miners that are constantly digging things up that we were robbed of, like the relationship list for companions, gaunt manor, other house specific quests, more quests concerning Isadora, on and on. on top of this, ive seen first hand how much of the outer parts of the map was developed only to be cut out. i spent a solid hour and a half today using free cam to fly around the outskirts of the map — buildings, caves, entire areas laid out for towns or poacher camps, all thrown out on top of all of the discarded quests and content.

and while im at it — ill be one of the few to say it, but Hogwarts Legacies storyline was not well thought out, or at the very least it wasnt very well portrayed. there were hundreds of questions we were left with upon beating the game. where did Anne go? what happened to the keepers after the final battle? why wasnt Isadora in her portrait? what were the keepers hiding? did inhaling the magic actually make a difference or was it just for shock value? how much of Isadora’s story did we miss? how was the undercroft tied in with Isadora when it was apparently a Gaunt secret? what even really was the undercroft?

yes, i know — “well arent they making a second one?” and yeah, im pretty sure they are, and maybe thats why we’ve gotten nothing more than a pile of bricks in the last year and a half. but, they should probably finish the first game before starting on a second.

this doesnt mean i dont love Hogwarts Legacy. i love the people ive met, the stories ive read, and i love capturing the screenshots i take from that game. the entire situation is just frustrating to no end.

SO this seems to be the same type of room that sephi is kept in that we see in ec - but minus the desk and bed??? from the angle we see in the scene it's hard to know if bb sephi even has a cot ;0;

enjoyable mix of linear quests and exploration

a lot of the quest location and actual quest designs were intriguing and engaging

the soundtrack on the quests was better than the main theme, in most cases

only experienced one bug (on PS5) so far and it was fixed with a reload

honestly the whole CC is very excellent

no warning before the first major decision point/point of no return. never had my coffee date :(

no armor/outfit dye mechanic, and my god some of the color combos are.. certainly choices

no crafting system

very few legitimately casual outfit options

the main theme sounds like Harry Potter to me

so few meaningful callbacks to past games and choices... it felt impersonal and disconnected from previous game experiences

the way certain areas are walled off (either exploration areas during quests or vice versa) by some nebulous white haze is lazy

I love a DIY home base in my viddy games, but the decor mode is basically pointless. like that's time that could've been better spent elsewhere (like maybe improving the above point??)

loading a save drops you at a respawn beacon, so I'm always forgetting what undiscovered location I was gonna explore next

combat can be fun but is often an exhausting mash of swipe-and-dodge, since unless you use a companion's Taunt skill, every enemy will prioritize Rook for no reason, minus a few swings at the companions here and there (in Adventure mode)

no dedicated Open Map or Open Journal buttons

can't talk to solas whenever I want :(

the evanuris altars are boring. at least the fen'harel ones have some challenge to them, even if it's not a very difficult one

Man!! I really can’t wait for Rebirth to come out!! I really can’t wait to find 48 hour-long footage so I can watch all the cutscenes and experience the game like a movie until my brain turns into a fried cheese wedge!!

Trying to remember everything now! So descriptions may not be super accurate:

Photo 1. Was when all that was on was my fridge, wifi, camera, and an extension lead (as well as I guess the device itself and my boiler? If that even uses electric?)

Photo 2. Was when I turned my shower and extractor fan on! I couldn't believe how drastically the price increased!

But it's kinda cool knowing that generally I am running on 4p an hour, when you consider my standing charge is like 30-50p a day or something, yeah, pretty good! Just shocked by how much my shower and extractor fan cost! Glad I always take quick showers! Also as I have written this it's now dropped to 220 and no longer in the 290's? So the other images may be way off for costs haha

Running wouldn’t have been a smart idea in cold air after a month of infrequent or low activity. Also, sort of a dumb choice the day after a massage. And after being sick and not doing anything to make my muscles flexible and strong.

So I walked at very high speed for 10k. And minus a small temporary cramp in my lower leg and a little ache in my lower back I have zero regrets.

It helped discharge all of that nasty somatic anxiety feeling in my body.

Listened to lots of podcasts and just enjoyed the crisp cold evening air.

Many thought in my brain on fun things and things related to creative processes.

But it is a Friday evening and I should relax (family time etc) and maybe flip on the PS5 and game after an exceedingly long break.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Horizon Zero Dawn jest kolejną grą, którą odkryłam całkiem niedawno. O samym tytule czytałam już dawno temu, ale warunki sprzętowe nie pozwoliły mi na ogranie tej pozycji. Zmieniło się to w momencie, w którym wymieniłam swój laptop na komputer stacjonarny.

Akcja gry dzieje się w postapokaliptycznym świecie, w którym nasza cywilizacja wyginęła, ludzkość powróciła do plemiennego trybu życia a obok zwierząt egzystują wszechobecne maszyny, które je przypominają, w dodatku są wrogo nastawione do rasy ludzkiej - oczywiście my jako gracz nie znamy przyczyny i nie wiemy co się właściwie stało, na obecnym etapie gry nie znam jeszcze powodu, jestem mega ciekawa co się wydarzyło. Grę rozpoczynamy dosłownie od narodzin Aloy, głównej bohaterki. Już w pierwszej minucie dowiadujemy się, że została wyklęta i wygnana ze swojego plemienia. Dlaczego tak się stało? Przecież nie zdążyła jeszcze niczym zawinić! Tego dowiemy się na późniejszych etapach gry.

Muszę przyznać, że wstęp miał masę scenek, przez co nie mogłam się doczekać kiedy w końcu będę mogła zagrać Aloy. Obecnie chyba mój jedyny minus, nieco za długi prolog. Kiedy w końcu gra daje nam na moment kierować główną bohaterką znajdujemy pewne urządzenie, Focus, które będzie nam towarzyszyło przez całą grę. Aloy pod okiem swojego opiekuna uczy się walki z maszynami, musimy w końcu jakoś poradzić sobie w tym wielkim świecie. Mapa jest ogromna!

Aloy jest piękną rudowłosą kobietą z zielonymi oczami, właściwa część fabuły dzieje się, gdy Aloy ma około 20 lat.

Gra jest niesamowita, ma cudowną grafikę i muzykę, podobnie jak w Kena: Bridge of Spirit, mamy tu tryb foto. Poniżej to samo zdjęcie o różnych porach dnia, bajka!

Zabawne są również niektóre znajdźki, np.: coś, co nazywa się "rytualne dzwonki" jest naszym breloczkiem, "pradawny wieniec" okazuje się być bransoletką z koralikami. Walka również należy do bardzo przyjemnych, sam motyw polowania na maszyny i tradycyjną zwierzynę bardzo mi się podoba. Skradanie i kombinowanie z pułapkami + łukiem, naprawdę świetna zabawa! Poniżej zdjęcie giganta, którego powaliłam, było ciężko!

Bugów w grze jest naprawdę niewiele, póki co miałam tylko jeden, który nawet sfotografowałam xD. Oto lewitująca martwa maszyna:

Wrzucam jeszcze garść zdjęć, oczywiście mam ich całą masę, musiałam się nieźle nagłowić, żeby wybrać tylko kilka :D.

Zdecydowanie polecam ten tytuł, obecnie nie mogę się od niego oderwać :). Moje serduszko ubolewa, że druga część, Horizon Forbidden West, jest obecnie tylko na PS5, czekam z niecierpliwością na wersję PC!

Idk what to do, I've been pushing for financial assistance for my heart scan and I can't anymore bc they don't offer it.... it would confirm i have coronary artery disease.... but i don't have any options anymore... other than to pay out of pocket for the test. It's only 150$ but I dont have that kind of money. That's the issue.

I didn't even buy silent hill 2 or the ps5... and you can say you can use that money for the scan! I need that 300$ incase something happens to my fucking car. I couldn't buy the game and console just to play one game when at any moment I could need a new car, or need idk control arms or something. It's reckless to buy an entire game system to play one fucking game just bc I want it more than almost anything.

And as important as the test is i need that money if anything happens to my car. For all I know I will need a starter or something. It's all the money I have in the world and I can't use it on a test insurnace should cover. I couldn't even use it on a game I wanted more than almost anything. When I deserve the fucking game bc I've battled psychosis/auditory hallucinations for over a year and I have had nothing to look forward to except silent hill 2 coming out and i can't even buy it bc it's fucking reckless a whole console for ONE FUCKING GAME BC ITS A PLAYSTATION EXCLUSIVE BC SONY AND KONAMI ARE CUNTS AND WONT RELEASE IT ON XBOX

I mean I talked to my cardiologist bc wow cardiologists are really involved in your health... and they really want me to take repatha and they are almost positive i have coronary artery disease.........

I'm scared. I wish I didn't pick up the phone. I guess I was pushing too hard with the other company to get financial assistance... I mean I want my Dr to have all the information he needs. Either way my chlorestoral is still high and they would treat it with repatha or a statin if I could tolerate the statin...

Idk what to do cause my shoulders hurt a little. My chest is almost recovered at this point. I've had some spasms in my leg but not many they are still recovering and I can't really give the statin a fair shot without risk assessment I guess... I have to get my legs to fully recover. I have to get a decent workout for a couple weeks and of course I got to push myself a little more every workout otherwise I'll flat line.... so it makes it hard. Cause right now I know my pain is 100% the gym...

If I pop the statin tonight and my shoulders get sore bc of delayed onset muscle soreness (it took my chest almost a full 48 hours to get sore from the last workout) then I'll fucking blame the statin. And the pain could start just bc of delayed onset muscle soreness from the gym... and i mean it would be stupid to not consider that the statin can worsen the pain......... cause yea. At this point I do think i could do a full workout tomorrow minus cardio...

I'm scared cause coronary artery disease can cause strokes, heart attacks.. and I'm fucking young and i just wish I could afford the test. And i wish I knew what was the right decision about the repatha or statin. Or if i should wait it out to see if my life style changes help at all.
