Michael Craze pops up as Vince Kelly, a teenage runaway from a borstal centre, in Gideon's Way: Boy With Gun (1.23, ITC, 1966)
#fave spotting#michael craze#ben jackson#doctor who#gideon's way#1966#boy with gun#itc#a relatively rare fave spotting! outside of his DW work‚ Mike didn't make a huge amount of appearances in cult tv‚ at least not many that#survive or are easily seen; he'd previously starred in Target Luna‚ a completely lost serial‚ but didn't return when the show carried on as#Pathfinders in Space (oddly‚ perhaps because of a change of director‚ every single returning character was recast) and beyond#there were also episodes of Dixon pf Dock Green and Armchair Theatre but these are also in all likelihood lost tv; others‚ like an ep of#Hammer's sci fi anthology Journey to the Unknown‚ are frustratingly unavailable to the average viewer (I was really hoping Network would#do something with JttU after they announced an agreement with Hammer but alas it wasn't to be)#mike would have been about 22 when filming this ep (around May '65) but was still largely playing juvenile parts as here#(his age isn't given but as a borstal runaway he's clearly intended to be a teen); this aired in feb or march '66 in most regions‚ by which#time he had presumably been cast in DW (or very near to it; he'd debut in The War Machines in June of that year)#DW would act as a sort of transition for Craze from youth parts into adult roles (i mean Ben's own age is debatable but I'd say he's surely#meant to be at least 18?). there'd be some more guest spots and a few horror films to come (he was a regular collaborator with Norman#J. Warren) but he doesn't pop up with the regularity of many other Who companions so this was a lovely little surprise (zero memory of him#being in it from when i first watched years ago)

Some people might suggest you have a problem when you need to buy a couple more bookcases and move things around to make room in your library.
I, however, just say that when it comes to my books, it should be like the TARDIS.
Bigger on the inside, never running out of space, etc.
Anyway, I did some moving around (after trying to put the two new cases together while little Xaden and little Sasha helped) and here's a mini-tour of the (mostly?) finished library, book storage, etc.
WARNING! WARNING!
LONG POST (WITH IMAGES) BELOW CUT!
So enter the room and turn to the left and you have bookish pins and candles and whatnot:
Going around the room clockwise, you next have a sort of "fandom" shelf--YA books, SPN, OUAT, etc.
Next is one of the new cases, lovingly deemed my "Maas-verse bookcase" :D
Then there's the second new bookcase, mostly empty right now (because let's be honest, I needed space!) :
Then the first corner of the room in our tour; I have had that OUAT!Captain Hook cutout for years, a gift from a good friend. And of course, all my "special" little TY beanie baby bears ;) What? I'm a millennial! Necklaces and some book decor on the wall as well.
In front of the window is most of my Funko POPs, stacked up (ranging from some Star Wars, some OUAT, and some Lion King) along with just a few storage things and a bed for the kitty cats that you can pay no attention to. A little more decor on the wall as well.
At the other corner, I call it my "nonfiction/non-fantasy AND random paperback case" Because the majority of my books are fantasy, in some way; I have a small collection that aren't (and an even smaller area for nonfiction) and I have ASOIAF here because... I haven't read them all yet. :(
Next, there is the initial white case (when I first had just the white ones) that is now my "JLA, Zodiac, and spicy books" case, for the most part.
Then the middle white case, the only "theme(ish)" aspect is Grishaverse/Bardugo on the top shelf. The rest of the case tends to be a mix of different books, mostly special editions in one way or another.
At the final white case, again, the top is currently the only "theme" shelf, with Empyrean taking the space. At the rate I keep getting multiple Special Editions of those books, however, those dragons may end up taking up a lot more than one shelf ;)
And then, before we leave the room-- The little space on the wall when it turns in has a collection of some bookish decor:
And right when you enter the door, if you look at the wall immediately there to your left, you'll see my collection of bookish daggers/swords bookmarks because I wanted to display them (they're so pretty!)
And then, finally, we have the two cases that ended up being moved into the living room (because I simply CANNOT fit it all in one room, who are we kidding?!)
First up is the "I was a teenage girl and obsessed with Harry Potter and Twilight" era case.
And lastly, is the case that is like "oh yeah, I've read these classic books and love them and look how intelligent I am" case. ;)
In all honesty, however, I've probably actually read ... 65% of the books on this case. Ah well. I'll get to them one day... maybe.
And there you have it!

Good Things In 2023
It’s that time of year again! Time to remember all the good things that happened in 2023. I’ve done this since 2017, and highly recommend doing this as a fun way to reflect (and to have something for future reference when you are feeling Down.)
woof ok here we go
PERSONAL
I visited two countries I haven't been to before: the Netherlands and Iceland!
The Netherlands: mostly Amsterdam but did also pop down to The Hague for a day. Did the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, the Bloemenmarkt, a canal boat tour, the Royal Palace, the Mauritshuis.
Iceland: I was there for less than 48 hours but I saw THE NORTHERN LIGHTS!!!! they were subtler than I expected but so cool. also did the Perlan Museum and a Lava Show, which ruled.
Related: I turned 30 this year!
My dear friend Sam came to visit me in Dublin in June! The highlight of her visit was going with her to see Hozier at Malahide Castle.
Speaking of which, Hozier dropped UNREAL UNEARTH which isn't personal, per se, but is very personal to me
My sister visited me in November! We squeezed a lot in her time here, but highlights were Glendalough, the Hill of Tara, and the Galway Christmas Market.
A few aunts went on a trip to Ireland this fall and I joined them for a bit up in Donegal, as well as a day trip to Derry, which I'd not been to before.
Completely fucking forgot about this but I did write a 158k word long ROGUE ONE / FRINGE AU, ENDLESS FORMS MOST BEAUTIFUL. it was a real fuckin bitch to finish, let me tell you that
I got really into MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE over the summer (don't ask) and wrote a couple short pieces inspired by the most recent movie, DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE: LADY LAZARUS and WORTHY THE NAME OF SIR KNIGHT.
I jumped back on my bullshit in October and wrote a long, extended epilogue to my BINARY STAR SYSTEMS trilogy: TWO DESERTS. the way the series ended was always correct and good but it was fun to write this extended epilogue focusing on the fallout, the question of what it's like to live past the end of your myth.
Anything bolded below is something I particularly enjoyed and recommend.
MOVIES
2023 movies I saw and liked:
M3GAN
KNOCK AT THE CABIN

"She Wasn't Able to Get an Abortion. Now She's A Mom. Soon She'll Start Seventh Grade" by Charlotte Alter for Time. the cruelty is the point.
had a pilot named Ken yesterday and he introduced himself by saying his job is plane
"Cillian Murphy might be the star of a massive movie atm but to me he will always be the guy that showed up in the rain to our abortion rights marches"
"The 'Troubling Reverberations' at the End of OPPENHEIMER, Explained" by Bilge Ebiri for Vulture. it's an absolutely devastating ending, but the fact remains: there was no other way to end it.

Kiké Hernandez returned to the Dodgers!
this behind the scenes video from the filming of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE where Tom Cruise's co-stars watch him drive a motorcycle off a cliff.
"How Christopher Nolan Learned to Stop Worrying and Love AI" by Maria Streshinsky for Wired. good interview with Nolan, one of my favorite filmmakers / artists. (anyone who's ever read anything I've written is probably like yes, this is very obvious.)
"The Perils and Promises of Penis-Enlargement Surgery" by Ava Kofman for The New Yorker. an absolutely BONKERS but super important piece!
a new ending to RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, lmao
"The Return of Ryan Gosling" by Zach Baron for GQ. really great profile writing going on here!
"LOST Illusions: The Untold Story of the Hit Show's Poisonous Culture" by Maureen Ryan for Vanity Fair. LOST is one of my favorite shows and has been super influential on my work. (again, this is probably very obvious). this piece is devastating in how it reveals the terrible racism and sexism behind the scenes of a show I have loved. important.
Henry Kissinger died this year (GOOD THINGS BABYYY) and this piece by Nick Turse, which came out in May, is a good explainer on why that's such good news: "Kissinger's Killing Fields".
"Talking With 'Swiftie Dads' at a Taylor Swift Concert" by Eileen Cartter for GQ. I thought this was very sweet.
The New York Times had an interactive feature about Connie Chung and her impact on young Chinese-American women, particularly the ones named after her. I love this video of her meeting some of them.
"Will A.I. Become the New McKinsey?" by Ted Chiang for The New Yorker. Chiang is best known as the writer of STORY OF YOUR LIFE which was adapted into ARRIVAL, so it's wise to listen to him when it comes to tech and science.
Loved this speech Mark Hamill gave about Carrie Fisher at her Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony.
Accents white people can still do.
this absolutely incredible slapstick esque unintentional comedy scene.
As always, tagging anyone who’d like to do this!

National Cinnamon Day
Celebrate and appreciate one of the world’s favorite ancient spices by getting excited about National Cinnamon Day. So grab a favorite cinnamon treat and read on to learn more about this delicious spice and the ways it has been part of human history for thousands of years!
History of National Cinnamon Day
Native to Ceylon, which is modern day Sri Lanka, cinnamon’s first recordings are from Chinese writings that date as far back as 2800 BC. Even today in the Cantonese language, cinnamon is still known as “kwai”. And in the Malay language, it goes by “kayumanis”, which means “sweet wood”. This is certainly an apt description of this spicy but uniquely sweet flavor.
During medieval times, doctors found that cinnamon worked well as a treatment for coughs, sore throats and hoarseness. It may also have been considered a status symbol and was often used as a special imported gift given to monarchs, royalty and other people of importance.
Cinnamon, along with other precious spices might seem rather innocuous now, but in the early days of their discovery, several wars were fought over the lands where cinnamon came from. The Portuguese, Dutch and British armies all sought to conquer Ceylon (modern day Sri Lanka) in an effort to obtain full access to their spices.
Today, sourcing cinnamon comes with much less angst and political struggle as, for most people, it’s easy to simply pop over to the local grocery store, health food store or spice shop to pick some up. Typically cinnamon can be found in two varieties, ground or whole. Ground cinnamon is used in many different recipes for baking and cooking, while whole cinnamon sticks are more often steeped into beverages or infused into flavoring syrups.
Of course, cinnamon is really the star of the show when it comes to the beloved pumpkin pie spice. Combined with allspice, nutmeg and clove, cinnamon is the base for this grouping of flavors that represents all things fall.
In honor of National Cinnamon Day, it’s time to get creative and enjoy cinnamon in a whole myriad of ways!
National Cinnamon Day Timeline
2000 BC Spices are exchanged along the Silk Road
A network of sea routes link East to West, from Japan all the way over to Europe, and cinnamon is one of the spices traded on this route.
65 AD Emperor Nero burns cinnamon
Nero is said to have burned a year’s worth of Rome’s supply of cinnamon at his wife’s funeral.
14th Century Portuguese explorers find cinnamon
While traders brought the spice to the West, the place where it originates from is kept secret until the Portuguese discover it in Ceylon.
Early 1800s British take over Ceylon
Defeating the Dutch occupiers, the British take over the island country of Ceylon, gaining full access to cinnamon.
1930s Cinnamon candy is made
Produced by the Ferrara Pan Candy Company, Red Hots are made using the panned method of candy making.
How to Celebrate National Cinnamon Day
Get excited about cinnamon and enjoy National Cinnamon Day with some of these fun and clever ideas for celebrating:
Eat Something Cinnamon
From cinnamon candy to cinnamon rolls and everything in between, National Cinnamon Day is best celebrated by enjoying the flavors of this delicious spice. Whether it’s simply grabbing a pack of cinnamon gum from the local convenience store, or a cinnamon latte from a local coffee shop, this is the day to enjoy all things cinnamon!
In fact, while often associated with sweet things in the West, cinnamon is also often used in savory dishes in many cultures. From curries to mole sauces to barbecue rubs, cinnamon can be used in every meal of the day for breakfast lunch and dinner!
Try a cinnamon roll or a healthy bowl of oatmeal flavored with cinnamon for breakfast. Lunch could consist of a Hawaiian pizza topped with pineapple, ham and almond slivers, sprinkled with delicious cinnamon. And dinner? Well, a big vat of butter chicken, cinnamon green lentil soup or chicken shawarma would do nicely, thank you very much!
Learn the Health Benefits of Cinnamon
Cinnamon is more than just a yummy way to flavor foods and beverages! It is also a natural substance that offers a whole host of properties that may be beneficial to human health. There’s a reason that it was often offered as a gift to kings!
Consider some of these interesting benefits of including cinnamon as part of a healthy diet:
Cinnamon is full of antioxidants. Fighting off free radicals is the name of the game when it comes to preventing health problems such as cancer, heart disease and other issues.
Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation can be helpful in fighting off foreign bodies, but too much inflammation can cause huge health problems like arthritis, asthma, diabetes, cancer and so much more.
Cinnamon may help prevent heart disease. This unassuming spice has been linked as a way to reduce heart disease, which is the number one cause of death in the world today.
Cinnamon can help balance insulin. A serious problem today is insulin resistance which can cause type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Cinnamon can help to reduce the body’s resistance to the hormone insulin and help it do its job well.
Enjoy Baking with Cinnamon
Cinnamon brings a whole host of opportunities for cooking and baking in the kitchen at home. From cinnamon rolls to snickerdoodle cookies, from cinnamon donuts to cinnamon coffee cake, this spice really has it all!
Get creative by adding cinnamon sugar to honey and rolling it in phyllo dough for a pseudo-baklava taste. Or go a bit more traditional by baking an all-American apple pie that is, of course, spiced with cinnamon. Another enjoyable way to use cinnamon is to add it to a traditional loaf of quick bread, such as banana bread, pumpkin bread.
Savor a Cup of Cinnamon Tea
While many people think of cooking and baking with cinnamon, one of the best ways to enjoy this delicious spice is by steeping it into a hot beverage. Teas made from cinnamon can be not only tasty but can also offer a nice way to infuse some of the health benefits that were mentioned above.
So, in honor of National Cinnamon Day, perhaps consider trying out one of these delightful brands of cinnamon tea:
Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea. This is the most popular flavor of this company’s tea that is sold throughout the world, its flavors are of cinnamon, orange peel and sweet cloves.
The Republic of Tea Cinnamon Plum Tea. This is a black tea that is blended with zingy cinnamon spice and offers the calm taste of ripe plums.
Bigelow Black Tea Cinnamon Stick. A classic version with a spicy kick, this black tea is just the right balance of sweet and spicy.
National Cinnamon Day FAQs
Can dogs have cinnamon?
Cinnamon is not toxic to dogs, but it could cause indigestion so it may be best to avoid giving cinnamon to a dog.
Is cinnamon good for you?
Yes! Cinnamon is a healthy spice that contains antioxidants and may be helpful in fighting against heart disease, insulin resistance, and might even protect against cancer.
Where does cinnamon come from?

How to make cinnamon sugar
Cinnamon sugar is easy! Just combine 2 tablespoons of cinnamon with ½ cup white sugar and combine.

twenty questions for fic writers 🫡
thanks for the tag @syoddeye!
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
50
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
699,806
3. what fandoms do you write for?
oh god, ongoing or previous too?? uhm currently batfam, star wars, cod, st - but i’ve had a few extra that i used to write for too
4. top five fics by kudos
i’m not linking them all bc some are,,,, far from my best work. also can u tell i love a long lyric title?
if you can’t give me all, give me nothing ; memorise the way you make me feel ; the way you move like you do ; i’m addicted to the way i feel when i think of you ; took the words right out of my mouth
5. do you respond to comments?
literally every single one,, before getting this account back a few months ago it was the only way i interacted w people in the fandoms so 🤷♀️ sometimes it might take a week tho but i try to be quick
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
i don’t tend to do angst endings? like even in darker angsty fics i usually twist it so it’s like dubcon happy at the end 🥴🥴 sooo maybe either no grave can hold my body down or can i steal a kiss or two? or even choices made in anger
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
liiiiiterally any other fic i’ve ever written lmao
8. do you get hate on fics?
not often? BUT i usually do fluff fics and when i started dabbling in darker stuff that’s when i got more hate - specifically on one fic in particular
9. do you write smut?
yeah! not all the time but maybe 65%
10. craziest crossover:
i dont really do crossovers but my last mando fic was inspired by justified if that counts?
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i know of,, again im not very online to be able to know :/
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
yeah! just one but now i dont do it,, learning curve for me
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
almost when i was first starting out writing 6 years back but it fell through - katy if ur still out there i hope ur enjoying life <3
14. all time favorite ship?
ffffuckkkkkk i don’t think i can choose bc i dip in and out so often but i do tend to always come back to jaytim? they’re my for lifers i think but soap x reader is a close second atm
15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
i’ll always finish my wips bc i can’t stand to see them unfinished,, but it’s been like three years since i first said i was going to write my sci-fi dystopian jaytim fic and im still not past the first paragraph :/
16. what are your writing strengths?
i think i’m good at dialogue and catching accents and nailing personalities pretty quick,,
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
i’m so fucking slow. if nothing else, watching people write for cod on here has shown me how quick everyone else seems to be able to write :’)
and also with longer fics i’ve gotten into the (bad) habit of leaving out like integral details that i assume the reader will just know bc ive been too in my own head about it all and ive forgotten what i’ve established already; leads to decisions looking like they’ve come out of nowhere or random personality changes
18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?
i’ve attempted it but i have to google translate it so i try to keep it to a minimum and ask for correction in the comments. sometimes i do it italicised but written in english so readers can understand that it’s meant to be another language but dont have to skip to the bottom notes or another tab to understand what’s being said
19. first fandom you wrote in?
teen wolf 🥴
20. favorite fic you've written?
idk if i’ve got a favourite,, in hindsight a lot of the ones i think about most fondly are the ones that absolutely killed me off when writing so i’ve got real rose tinted glasses about them all. however these are few that should get honourable mentions just because i like them and they didn’t pop up earlier
whew this was long i think i yapped ontoo much lmao but it was so fun!!
no pressure tags: @glossysoap @mikichko @kyletogaz @femalefemur @sentientcave @gemmahale @madstronaut and anyone else who wants to give it a go!!
#loved doing this thanks for tagging me sy!!!#very interesting looking back at some of my older fics and old fandoms 🫣🥲 like some of my concepts were p cool like what was i on a few#years ago?? i was bashing out so many fics at one point lmao#like one a month??? who is she??#tag game

Impldoll Aurora War of Future
She's on the Idol "70" cm body, but on the right is the 65 cm Star MGB body. They are identical in height. Looks like the hard cap on 65 cm for female BJD bodies continues.
Box included 2 wires of identical length (for arms and legs).
The bottom torso part is one solid piece, and this cap is glued on. To wire the doll, I had to restring it.
To get the elastic through the knee joint (with the wire), I lifted the joint up and turned it sideways, and then pulled the elastic tight so it would fit through the channel.
Wiring made the body sit and stand more firmly, but as you can see from the knee joint, posability didn't really improve (the knee joint popped out of the thigh). Wiring also gave Aurora a gangster sitting lean. Hot glue worked better for the MGB body, but bending the knee in this position also knocked off all of the hot glue.
Solid stander.
BIG neck gap. This is not a hybrid - it's how she fit out of the box.
Extreme close-up.

what are your favorite albums of all time? choose as many as you want idek
Oh, is this inspired by my "details" post? Hmm, okay, let's try this:
"Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV, Vol. 1" by Coheed and Cambria. It's a concept album and I could not tell you the fucking concept outside of like... misogyny and violence. AND YET... it has stood the test of time. The guitar on every song FUCKS. Interesting vocal tone. Experimental and nonsensical FUN rock music.
"Europop" by Eiffel 65. The blue da ba dee album. The rest of it is really fucking good pop electronica. Or it's just so nostalgic to me I can't see how generic it is. IDC, the synth goes oFF without being too high energy.
"Details" by Frou Frou, obviously. Similarly, "Speak For Yourself" by Imogen Heap. While these albums don't contain my FAVORITE songs involving Imogen, they are my fave collections of her work. Music that feels like nostalgia--like guzzling a sparkling potion that bubbles inside you and pushes your sadness and fears and LOVE from your heart into your pores. Pop music for people who care about storytelling, lyrics, and true emotional connection.
"Multitude" by Stromae. Another, "Idk if fmy fave songs are on this album, but the project on the whole is the best one." Diverse sound, brilliant execution every time.
"Heart Station" by Utada Hikaru. Choosing a favorite Utada piece is hard but I think this has the tightest collection of tracks? Similar appeal to Imogen, though the musical influences are ethereal in a different way.
"Las Ruinas" by Rico Nasty. It's hard to even describe this album but I like how Rico keeps pushing new boundaries. I do like the dancier tracks here.
"Alive 2007" by Daft Punk.If you know Daft Punk, this is essentially a megamix of some of their best songs.
"Coloris" by She. Chiptune, electronica, idk how to describe this album. Feels like your brain is being carbonated.
"Renaissance by Beyonce." Sorry, such a generic answer I feel but... she did it. She put all her power into a dance album with diverse sound, making it all accessible without being watered down.
"Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" by MCR because duh.
"Commit this to Memory" by Motion City Soundtrack. If you were an emo kid and wanted to kill yourself in the mid 2000s, you know this album. Even if it Kills Me is a close second, btw. Or My Dinosaur Life. I love a lot of MCS tbh. It's emo... pop rock, not surprising for me.
"eMOTIVe" by A Perfect Circle. It's alt rock. It's anti-war and depressing. "Passive" was playing in my head 24/7; I'd mentally turn it into an AMV every single day fo my life for like a year. I wrote a poem about it. "Thirteenth Step" is a very close second.
Technically, it should be "Hold Your Colour" by Pendulum, since it got me into Drum & Bass but I prefer the rockier depths of "Immersion."
"The Happy Star" Lexie Liu. Experimental pop music that reinvents itself each track, sampling from different genres. I just find it really enjoyable and keep returning to it. Might be recency bias.
"333" by Tinashe. An album tht contains the whole human experience--sadness to horniness. Good for her. You can dacne AND cry? Good for you.
"Remember that You Will Die" by Polyphia. Largely instrumental... prog rock meets trap meets electronica?
Choosing a one direction album feels like being threatened at gun point so I won't. Just know they belong here.
"Making Mirrors" by Gotye. People mock him for disappearing after someone that i used to know BUT DID YOU STREAM THE ALBUM?? Jazzy at times, rocky at times, psychedelic at times, BUT DID YOU LSITEN????
The Sims (Original Soundtrack). If you don't get it, I'm not explaining. Kill yourself.
"Perfect Velvet" by Red Velvet. I do think this album is the best kpop has to offer and I'm not fucking joking. I think SM put so much of their pussy in this track, it made their downfall years later inevitable. SM music is so sketchy now because the entir ecompany sold their souls (and pussies, bussies, and extraneous holes) for this album. "I Just" and "Kingdom Come" alone are like... god tier. R&B by a kpop group done CORRECTLY.
"Reborn" by Kavinsky. Feels like alternate timeline Daft Punk, including the The Weeknd knock off track. I couldn't... not love it.
Foster the People's "Supermodel." This alt-rock album got to me when I was profoudnly mentally ill in college and never let me go.
"Season of Poison" by Shiny Toy Guns. I love their first album just as much, tbh, but the anger feels like it's aged better. This album feels like a God's retribution. It feels a religious experience, including all the scary kinds.
"What's Your PLeasure?" by Jessie Ware. Disco-y pop. Sensual. Slick. Longing.
"1 of 1" by Shinee. CHoosing a Shinee album was HARD. Incredible kpop. If you want SIIIINGERS, COME HERE LISTEN OT THEMMM.
and if I didn't want Brendon Urie dead it would be a fever you can't sweat out btu I literally can' tlisten to his voice without my stomache hurting so
I'm probably missing a bunch but these are the first to come ot mind while quickly scrollin thru my phone
feel free to ask me my fave tracks off the album or by these artists
#the fame monster srhould probably be here tbh#should actually have chronic future's lines in my fae album here#but i don't... revisit the album much#but time and time again is one of my favorite songs of all time#it's not good music tho#hmm bombay bicycle club shoul dbe somewhere her ebut i forget the album for yers at a time#before it takes over again

Ticket, Please
A Mischief Managed story
What? More Mischief? I’m popping in from my social media break to let my BTS followers know there’s another episode of Mischief Managed posted on Ao3, thanks to a thirst session with @hannahbee12719 & @seokjinger-ale that turned into a prompt.
Pairing: Jimin & Reader
Words: 2.1k
Rating: G
Genre: Fluff, crack, humor, bestFriends!AU, nonIdol!AU
Summary: You and Jimin will do anything to watch the new X-Men movie
Warnings: Do not try this at home- breaking & entering, attempt to defraud
Read it on AO3
And while you’re here, would you be interested in some of my other BTS stories? With all that’s going on right now, we really need the comfort of fluff.
And if fluff isn’t your thing (but I still really encourage you to give it a try), you might be interested in this little tidbit of smut, which has somehow become the third most popular thing I’ve ever written. I knew we’re all horny bitches (affectionate), but it’s been jaw-dropping to see its stats versus everything else I’ve done in my life.

Pancake My Eyes Off Of You
Pairing: Seokjin x Reader
Words: 1085
Summary: You and your friend Seokjin go out for your regular Saturday morning breakfast. A chance comment breaks your status quo.
Warnings: Bad puns
Also on Ao3
A/N: Thank you to @hannahbee12719 for the prompt! Five squares down.
Send me a prompt with a pairing!
“Another successful morning garage-sailing!” Seokjin whistles as he unlocks the van carrying all your assembled purchases.
“Don’t you mean junking?”
He assumes a hurt expression. “How can you call all this wonderful loot junk?”
You sigh as you buckle your seatbelt. “I’m just glad when it’s done being clutter in my garage.”
Seokjin reaches across the emergency break to pat your hand. “Admit it, you enjoy the thrill of the find.”
He had a point. Your mutual side hustle, Worldwide Hand-Me-Downs, did provide an outlet for your love of nostalgia. You just hadn’t expected it to take over your Saturday mornings. “I’ll be happy once we have breakfast,” you grumble. “And more coffee.”
Smiling, Seokjin points the van in the direction of the your favorite diner.
You sigh as he takes the back roads to the diner. “Why do you always take the back roads? It’s faster to take the freeway.”
Shaking his head, he demurs. “But there are fewer traffic lights.”
You bite your tongue as you stare out the window at the passing scenery. Driver’s choice, you suppose. Even though you had driven both ways and timed them just to prove you were right.
The end goal of all your Saturday garage-sailing expeditions is soon in sight (although you could have been there three minutes sooner if Seokjin had just gone your way), and with a blissful sigh, you slide into the booth opposite Seokjin. He carefully turns both the coffee cups up on their saucers. You don’t need to look at the menu, since you know what you want, but Seokjin studies his as if he hadn’t been coming here almost every Saturday for ages. You smile as his dark messy hair droops over his forehead as he turns the pages. His bangs are getting long. Should you remind him to get a haircut?
“Good morning,” your server chirps, as she pours coffee in your cups. She drops off a little pot of half and half, too, which Seokjin wordlessly pushes toward you. “Do you know what you want, or should I come back?”
“I’ll have the veggie omelette, bacon, and a side of hash browns, crispy on top, please?”
The server nods. “You got it!”
Seokjin shakes his hair out of his face as he tries to decide. “Can I have the short stack, link sausage, and the fruit cup please?” he finally asks.
She finishes writing your order. “I’ll get this put in.”
After she leaves, you carefully pour the cream and sugar into your coffee, stirring to mix it into pale tan consistency.
“Would you like a little coffee with your sugar?” Seokjin teases you.
You tap the spoon against the lip so as not to waste a single drop of blessed caffeine. “Not everyone can stand their coffee as black as your heart.”
He clutches his chest as if he’s been mortally wounded. Straightening his face, Seokjin changes the topic of conversation to the plot developments of the latest popular streaming series. “Can you believe what the writers did? What were they thinking? Clearly it should have gone the other way.”
Nodding your agreement, you gesticulate wildly with your spoon, because you would have improved on that chase scene, if only they had consulted you. Seokjin chimes in with supporting additional details of the proposed rewrites.
By the time your food arrives, between the two of you, you have come up with a much better directors’ cut. You and Seokjin scurry to move the cups aside to make room for the food as your server unloads plate after plate. Glasses of orange juice and milk are followed by Seokjin’s pancakes. She sets the breakfast potatoes at Seokjin’s place.

Take Me Out
Pairing: Hoseok x female!Reader
Genre: Fluff, opposites attract, first meeting
Summary: You'd rather be playing a game than teaching, but then an office group from Bangtan Industries attends your club's Learn To Curl night.

Warnings: alcohol consumption, bad puns
Rating: T for alcohol consumption (to be safe, nothing else happens)
A/N: Thank you to Sunny for the prompt! I hope you like it! <3 Eight squares down.

“I said, I’ve finished counting out the shoe grippers.”
“Hmm? What?” Pulling your earbud out of your ear, you look up to find your friend Seokjin standing next to you. Clutching your chest, you chastise him: “You shouldn’t sneak up on me like that!”
Seokjin shakes his finger at you. “It wouldn’t have been a problem if you weren’t lost to the world listening to the latest curling podcast.”
You splutter. “How’d you know I was listening to curling podcasts?”
“I didn’t,” he smirks. “Lucky guess.”
Rolling your eyes, you go back to counting out the broom handles and checking their brightly colored brush pads. “How many are we expecting tonight?”
“Full house,” Seokjin replies as reaches into the bin closest to him and begins inspecting brooms.
Learn to Curl Nights are always hectic at the curling club. But it’s extra busy in Olympic years, when suddenly people who look ordinary are on the tv playing for Olympics medals. Shuffleboard on ice, how hard could it be?
You have a lot of bruised tailbones and sore shoulders to contradict them.
“Lucky us,” Seokjin quips. “We’ve got one of the corporate team building groups.”
Pursing your lips, you contemplate your teaching partner’s revelation. This could go one of two ways: scowling grumps upset at “mandatory fun” organized by an out-of-touch boss, or a really wild office with terrifyingly high morale.
Even if you get the challenging first group, you still enjoy teaching. They might be hard nuts to crack, but eventually the enthusiasm is contagious. The smiles when someone manages to get their stone most of the way down the ice make it all worthwhile. It’s also a good opportunity for the club to recruit; you, Seokjin, and the other volunteer teachers are the first line of scouts for new players.
The evening starts in the club’s general purpose room with a brief welcome and introduction from the club president, Namjoon, and then everyone troops downstairs to the ice. You help people find the right size shoe grippers and a broom. When each person is set, you make your way over to the furthest sheet where Seokjin and the office party are waiting.
Watching at a distance, they’re already pretty animated. “Wooo!” yells one woman in a bright red jacket, waving her arms over her head. She almost loses her balance, but recovers just in time. A man in a hockey jersey says something you can’t hear at that distance, and the entire group breaks up laughing.
Looks like you have the office with terrifyingly high morale.
All right, they want a wild time, you’ll give them the full experience. Kicking off with your back foot, you slide in and swish to a stop in front of them, broom carefully tucked under your arm, just to be extra.
“And here’s my esteemed Co-Teacher,” Seokjin crows. “The fun can begin!”
Cheerfully, you wave to the group and introduce yourself.
“We all work for Bangtan Industries,” explains their boss, as they take turns introducing themselves. Going down the line, they are an office crew from central casting, representing all walks of life, genders, and office roles.
The last person to speak is a man who has been quiet up until now. Taking his measure, does he even want to be here? Sometimes groups have a holdout determined not to have fun. He has a reserved yet confident air, wearing loose clothing and a knit hat with black bangs peeking out. But then he smiles and it’s like a spotlight shines. His dark eyes crinkle around his button nose. “My name’s Hoseok,” he says. “I’m really excited to learn to curl!”

Originating from trees in Sri Lanka, which is an island in the Indian Ocean, a lot of cinnamon is now grown in Indonesia.
How to make cinnamon sugar
Cinnamon sugar is easy! Just combine 2 tablespoons of cinnamon with ½ cup white sugar and combine.
Can cinnamon go bad?
Though cinnamon will not usually “go bad”, it can get old and lose some of its strength and flavor.

2022-23(?) interests in case anyone was wondering and since i've been gone (and likely will continue to be gone)
Writing (NaNoWriMo 2022 here I come, and hey I'm branching way out of my comfort zone and writing a western because nobody stopped me)
Current-ish fandoms: Hawkeye (basically the only thing about the MCU I care about anymore, although the new Black Panther looks PrOmiSiNG). The Mandalorian (Star Wars in general is ok, but mostly Din and the gang, am also enjoying Andor). The Wingfeather Saga (books and soon-to-be animated series). Sherlock Holmes in pretty much any iteration. M*A*S*H (idk, this was the summer of randomly watching military television shows for inexplicable reasons especially considering the state of the world rn, and it just hasn't stopped but no spoilers please). The Great British Baking Show (idk if this counts as a fandom, it's just my comfort show).
Reading Dracula (but doing an audiobook not the daily emails bc I am gone from home about 65 hours a week minimum). Whyever do we have to be cursed to live in the Twilight era and not the Bram Stoker era, this book is so far way better than I ever could have thought.
Cats. (I have adopted two, a lifelong dream of mine. Their names are Esben and Artham.)
Music: Needtobreathe, Andrew Peterson, The Gray Havens, The West Coast Feed, Marc Martel, Jess Ray, cinematic scores, broadway musicals, and a very wide array of other eclectic things from folk to rock (just rarely pop).
Travel. (My someday dream is to spend a week walking the trails and eating the food by Lake Brienz in Switzerland.)
Geeky things like etymology and cinematography and biographies and trees and art and bread.
Feel free to ask me questions! I will get back to you in 1-3 business years.
#ragamusings#just in case i decide to be active which isn't likely but hey#also hi to all my mutuals i hope you are well#ignore this post#i just want to pin it on my blog
