What Imran Khan Should Do

One and Only and the Legend of Legends: Imran Khan

All opinion polls show that 90 Percent of Pakistanis support Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and hence if free and fair parliamentary elections are held in Pakistan on 8th February (the scheduled date ) his PTI party will sweep the polls.

However, the Pakistan Establishment (Meaning the Corrupt to its Core Pakistan Army) is determined that the corrupt Nawaz Sharif, and not Imran Khan, becomes the next Prime Minister. This is evident from the reception Nawaz Sharif received on his return from England to Pakistan, and the reversal of verdicts and withdrawal of pending cases against him, by the servile judiciary (Obviously at the Dictates of the Establishment ). It is also evident from the fact that almost all PTI leaders and 12,000-14,000 of its supporters are in jail on bogus and concocted charges, or have underground, or have deserted.

So How Will The Establishment Ensure This?

In this connection, one must remember that what matters is not for whom a vote is cast. What matters is what comes out of the ballot box. So even if a vote is cast for a PTI candidate, what will emerge from the ballot box is a vote for the PMLN, and to a lesser extent, the PPP. This can easily be managed by various means, since all authorities, including the Election Commission of Pakistan and the Supreme Court are acting as directed by the Establishment, and are dancing to its tune.

So What Should Imran Khan Do?

In my opinion, he should declare forthwith that the PTI will not contest the elections on 8th February unless the following conditions are met to ensure a level playing field :

All PTI leaders and supporters are released immediately, and the bogus charges against them are withdrawn forthwith, and no threats are given to them.

The PTI is allowed to hold its public meetings and campaigns without any fear of arrest or other dire consequences of its organizers or persons attending them.

The elections are held under the international supervision of the UN or some reputed organizations/persons.

Persons designated by the PTI ( and other parties ) are allowed to stay near the ballot boxes during voting, during the counting of votes, and when the ballot boxes are opened.

Unless these conditions are met it will be a serious mistake for the PTI to contest the elections, which will certainly be rigged otherwise.

Without free and fair elections there will never be stability in Pakistan, and instead, there will be continuous strife and chaos, perhaps even leading to a civil war between the Pakistan army and the Pakistan people. The people ( 90% of whom support Imran Khan ) will then use guerilla tactics, as mentioned in the article below.

"Either Imran Khan Will Get Murdered Or...": Pak Minister's Shocker

The remarks of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) senior leader, who is very close to former premier Nawaz Sharif, sparked an outcry among the political circles especially Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

Lahore: In a startling remark, Pakistan's Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has termed ousted prime minister Imran Khan 'enemy' of the ruling PML-N saying he has taken the country's politics to a point where either "he (Imran) will get murdered or us".

The remarks of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) senior leader, who is very close to former premier Nawaz Sharif, sparked an outcry among the political circles especially Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

Imran Khan, after surviving a gun attack on him during a rally in Wazirabad, Punjab in November last year, named Rana Sanaullah behind the assassination attempt on him. Imran Khan, 70, also mentioned the names of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a senior ISI officer in an application for FIR for their role in the murder plot.

In an interview to a couple of private TV channels on Sunday, Sanaullah said: "Either Imran Khan or us will get murdered. He has now taken the country's politics to a point where only one of the two can remain -- PTI or PMLN. PMLN's entire existence is in jeopardy and we will go to any extent against him to settle a score with him. Imran Khan has turned politics into enmity. Imran Khan is now our enemy and he will be treated like that," Sanaullah declared.

Asked if such remarks could result in anarchy in Pakistan, the minister said: "Anarchy already prevails in Pakistan." Reacting strongly to Rana Sanaullah's statement, PTI leader and former federal information minister Fawad Chaudhry said: "This is a direct life threat to Imran Khan from the PMLN coalition government." "Is Sanaullah running a gang or government? The Supreme Court had rightly declared Sharifs-led PMLN a Sicilian mafia and his statement is evidence of it," he said.

The PTI has also urged the SC to take notice of this as it is an open threat to Imran Khan's life.

"If anyone has any doubts about Rana Sanaullah's murderous intent towards Imran Khan. This is a direct threat given by the cabal of crooks' interior minister. The judiciary should take note," PTI senior leader and former minister Shireen Mazari said in a tweet.

The PTI said it has never witnessed in the past that a ruling party openly declared eliminating a popular leader of Pakistan.

The Pakistani Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader, Atta Tarar claimed, is exploiting government institutions as a political arm.

He stated that the Federal Enquiry Agency is used by the government to pressure Shehbaz Sharif in the Ramzan sugar mills issue. He said his party will not accept the prison sentence of Shehbaz Sharif.

“During the investigation Shehbaz was a cooperative party,” he added, adding that both in court and in politics, the party will raise its voice.

In the name of employees of the mill while acting as Punjab’s Charge Minister, Shehbaz and his son Hamza are accused of establishing bogus accounts.

They are charged with utilising these account to transfer Rs25 billion from 2008 to 2012 to Sharif family accounts.
