Ahaha!!! Here it's!! My fucked up guy!! Project 09 officially has a physical form :]

My weirdo fucking guy, anyway I randomly got possessed yesterday and drew this whole thing after months of agonizing over not knowing where to even start. Of course disclaimer I know nothing abt character design or robots, I just, put things my brain said good👍together and hope for the best

His twin Tails being the literal bane of his existance, for his whole short life, so of course at first he considered ridding off them completely, until an idea struck. What better than to turn them into deadly twin weapons he can decide just how painfull they should be at any given moment. Very much inspired by the Murder Drones nano tails things.

Now of course 09 is not big on combat and preffers just the rewards after the affair, but he's not an idiot to go without a weapon or two if he really has to throw a punch. Claws are pretty obvious, and than I rembered Sevika and her cool robot arm with a fucking sword in it, so I gave 09 a knife.

On his left hand I was considering an arm cannon but, I say 09 would appreciate two functional hands to tinker with.

Hes ambidextrous, but still prefers his right hand to do most things as his left was left, mostly, organic. Which he has complicated feelings about

The shut down mode has been first conceived in this post, but hey isn't it fucked up, the realization that most of your body doesn't belong to you at the end of the day? That someone else can decide to shut off or puppeteer it around whenever and however they please? That the only thing you can trully control is your right ear, left shoulder, and increasing need to breathe faster? All it takes is one fuck up and any autonomy is gone.

CZ P-09 Nocturne … Too Late?

Earlier on this year the call to start heading down the CZ pistol product line as a real pull and started becoming a reality. I’ve been avoiding CZ pistols other than my CZ Scorpio EVO PCC for as long as I can remember. The very first CZ pistol I ever handled was a CZ-75 at a gun shop. Then finally earlier this year I picked up the CZ Shadow 2 Compact from Brownells then not too long after I also picked up the P-07. The P-07 is such an outstanding value when it comes to high quality duty rated handguns. This is an apocalypse type of firearm because you can take it to the end of days and expect it to outlast most any abuse you can throw at it short of throwing it into the fiery furnace itself. How can such an outstanding pistol be any better? The CZ aficionados are well aware of it’s short comings and modifications are quite prevalent. I myself swapped out the luminescent dot sights for a set of Night Fision night sights. I also did some polishing of the internals and swapped out the springs to lighten the trigger pull just enough. To be honest though, the trigger was pretty good out of the box, but I just wanted a little more. The only thing I wished CZ had at the time was an optic cut version. I thought that the P-09/P-07 had been around for so long that no way that CZ would offer an optic cut version, but then there it was!

Just a short time ago CZ released it’s latest or 3rd version of the P-07/P-09 pistol series. They’re calling it the P-09 Nocturne. Not really sure where the Nocturne moniker comes from, but it appears that they’re dropped the P-07 designation entirely and now have the P-09 Nocturne and the P-09C Nocturne where the C stands for compact. It’s essentially an updated version of the P-07 pistol. My guess is just like they’ve done with the P-10 series, they wanted to streamline the naming scheme just a tad bit. So the overall size remains the same as the older P-09/07 pistols, but with some updated styling on the slide and grip/frame. BUT the biggest change is that these new pistols now come with slides already cut for optics. In the past if you really wanted your P-09/07 pistol optics ready you’d have to send out the slide and spent the extra money. Now for around the same price you can pick up the new Nocturne.

Is it too late? I don’t think so. CZ recognized the demand and gave it to the people. Currently I have the Compact version on order at Brownells and will hopefully be here next week. It appears that these new pistol variants from CZ are finally hitting the streets and my guess is they’ll be a big hit. Cheaper than a Glock MOS and they come slide cut for the RMSc and Holosun K footprints. Do I regret picking up my CZ P-07 earlier this year? Absolutely not, but I am looking forward to comparing these 2 pistols side by side once I receive it.

09 realized quite early on that if he wanted, he could dethrone the Council at any point and time in his life. He knew part of the reason they took him in was because they realized the same thing, but luckily for them, and unluckily for the entire rest of the city, 09 had little to no motivation for it.

He doesn't want their power or status, since well, he already has it. All the tech available also belongs to him for the most part and no one in the city dares to cross him.

Absolute power with no one to receive praise from would mean nothing at the end of the day and ring completely hollow.

That doesn't mean that 09 agrees with everything the Council does, and certainly questions their methods quite often. But at the end of the day, if he does his job right, there's never any harm in little fun of the less efficient or even stupid plan

A lot of modern pistol doctrine seems polluted by the fact that a lot of manufacturers cheaped out on the design of their slide releases (hence the proliferation of the phrase slide stop) by not milling a piece of steel for that job and instead relying on stamping and literally changing how people operate their handgun to compensate for that shortfall on their part.

Having had to coach a lot of guy trained on 1911s, M9s, and similar up to Glocks, 509s, and similar, modern manufacturers hand you a substandard mode of operation so they can get away with depriving you of a simple action for the sake of cost and "concealability" when something like a proper slide release made of the proper material would impact neither in significant margins to an end user.
