this really is turning into a series huh!! hopefully i'll be able to do all overblots but i'm not sure about the songs for others yet?? like i have azul with 'get in the water' and malleus with 'thunder bringer' and i'm struggling with other associations so far if you have any ideas i'd like to hear them!! <333

I am not counting general magic usage as a weapon unless it’s someone’s Unique Magic or used with extreme intent on bodily suffering. Other than these exceptions, standard legal definitions of a weapon apply as normal.

I'm a "If you don't give me the freedom to choose who I want to become I will destroy the world" Overblot enjoyer. So I made a companion piece to my Jamil Overblot piece.

I hold the firm belief that if someone slapped Vil and yelled at him a little bit before he overblotted, he wouldn’t have gone haywire.

I think if they had switched how people reacted with Riddle and Vil, we would’ve saved two overblots. Riddle just wanted some comfort and recognition that he was going through a hard time and needed a hug. Vil wanted someone to keep him accountable.

Rook and Kalim gave Vil empathy and reassured him that he hadn’t made a fatal mistake, which would’ve helped Riddle calm down and think rationally. Ace decked Riddle to make him own up to his crimes and behavior, which Vil would’ve benefited from.

That’s what I’m doing in my first Vil fanfic. I’m having MC smack Vil into not overblotting. I’m having a bit too much fun.

Idk how we would’ve ever defused the Riddle situation… probably by pulling him aside and giving him a hug or something… Aww, wait, that might work and be cute. Awwww, I can see that. Tell me if you think so too and I might write it later.

I can draw my own interpretation of it, though I have to note:

This is technically not my 'concept'. I've heavily taken inspiration from Takebayashi's 'The Conception' (A fanwork from the TWST Beckon of the Mirror 2021 event) The main adjustments I made were the removal of spinning wheels along the body as well as the mask.

The roof | Jamil Viper animatic 🐍

So after almost a month of not properly posting anything, I have returned! My tests are done, and I immediately got back to work on this animatic. I saw this tiktok, and it scratched my brain nicely, so of course the logical next conclusion is that I need to draw Jamil to this.

In the comments of that original video someone mentioned how they think in this sound “the roof” is a metaphor for freedom. I liked that interpretation! In general, “the roof” is something you want so desperately, but something or someone tries to stop you, which only makes you want it more. I thought this was relevant to Jamil’s dream of freedom, to be his own person, and to be free of Kalim, to be the best at something. He wants the roof, but he can never have it. The adults mock him and kick him down, but they’re birds, born with the ability to fly, to visit the roof whenever they want, taking that privilege for granted. They wouldn’t understand his desire for the roof. They wouldn’t care about his desire for the roof.
