Margot Robbie is an amazing actress and Greta is an amazing director but all I was hearing about the Oscar’s was “Oh they were snubbed” “Can’t believe they were overshadowed” “Oscars are stupid”

So imagine my surprise when I see AMERICA FERRERA WAS NOMINATED

So much outrage over the women who didn’t get nominated yet no cheers for the one who did?

America Ferrera has been in the industry for years and she’s finally getting the recognition she DESERVES

WHY CANT WE BE HAPPY ABOUT THAT!

WHY CANT WE CELEBRATE THAT?!!

And the worst part is no one has been more gracious about this than Margot. She’s not posting about her outrage or her anger, she’s proud of the movie they made and is supportive of all of her costars

Ryan Gosling didn’t deserve that Oscar nom but neither did Margot Robbie. The level of performances this year were insane and the real snub was Greta Lee’s performance in Past Lives. Also, Lily Gladstone just became the first Native American (US) woman to be nominated at the Oscar for Best Leading Actress. The white feminism off people be having is insane.

Look, at the end of the day, while I have my favorites, the main thing I am rooting for at the Oscars is non-Emilia Pérez chaos. This season has been too all over the place to not have some major upsets.

lol i knew fernanda torres would be nominated because i don't think there was ever even one year when golden globe winner for best actress in a drama wasn't nominated for an oscar, so this would be a statistical outlier. golden globes might be often silly and membership doesn't overlap with the academy but academy members clearly really care about them and the winners, particularly in dramatic categories, have huge impact.
