that online chatter about anora being "exploitative" is funny because baker straight up said the biggest inspiration for him while making it was jess franco's vampyros lesbos, an exploitation film, and the way he shot soledad miranda in it. so he just admits it lol. i think it's cool that a movie like that managed to sneak its way past the usual backlash and into the awards season in such a big way.
