The scene where Drax pets Rocket in order to comfort him after losing Groot in the first Guardians movie hits so different now after watching Vol. 3. When Drax first puts his hand on Rocket’s head, you can see him tense up, probably because most of the physical contact he has had up until that point has been followed by the infliction of pain. It also broke my heart when I realised that this was also probably the first time that Rocket had ever been patted or stroked in an affectionate way by anyone in his life 🥹

rocket and @caesarhamato22's j'me looking at a starmap. are they picking where they're going for their next mission? next heist? next vacation? i don't know but i am here for it. i love j'me, and it is always a blessing to draw something for jay, who is an elder god in the rocket fandom and has written some of my favorite comfort one-shots ever.

i've had a hard time drawing lately ~ i haven't touched my tablet since my father's accident i don't think. a combination of life + work craziness. but i am slowly getting back to the doodle queue. honestly, it's good for me to give my brain a break from stress + writing. i'm hoping to be able to post one picture a month. and right now, i'm really grateful to jay for bringing me back to artistic expression with this image because it just warmed my heart to imagine & to draw. (i would also like to go on a mission/heist/holiday with rocket)

I knew that Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout/Monsters After Dark had a custom music and audio loop that played within its outdoor queue, but could find almost no evidence or mention of it online. So, I went and recorded it myself.

To make up for the audio quality, I've paired it with "visual notes" that transcribe what characters are saying, and display the title/album/artist of the song where available.

Enjoy a wild combination of relaxing ambient music, bizarre sound effects, synthesizer remixes of orchestral scores, lore references, and even some defunct attraction Easter Eggs along the way!

i genuinely want the mcu to end so badly. the whole "every movie takes place in the same universe and they're all connected" worked well in the earlier days, but now it just hurts the quality. i would have loved to see what an ant-man 3 or a doctor strange 2 could have been if it didn't need to put aside its own identity in service of furthering a larger story. and as the release schedule gets more and more crowded, it just gets harder and harder to remain invested in literally anything.

Someone on the GotG Reddit posted a raccoon wrapped in a blanket and I had to illustrate it for myself. Rocket deserves to be a cosy little guy, even if he claims he hates it. Also, Groot is the only one who could get away with it, a lil bit of father-son bonding time. ( ; ‿ ; ) ♡

Even with my little clothing complications, I REALLY LOVED drawing this character! I think my "normal style" is not so rusty...? ha ha! even if it's not a "work of art", I really like how it turned out! and the character design is beautiful! the whole theme of the sun, black holes, stars and eyes! PHEW! Everything is so cool!

Figuring out the "missing" Guardians of the Galaxy music loop is going WAY better than expected! Despite the extreme crowd noise present in my recordings, I've managed to successfully identify over half the musical pieces so far, and transcribe about 90% of the spoken parts. I'm editing them into a video, because having the transcript to follow along makes it WAY clearer!

And yes, it does include Tower of Terror's music :)
