“Osran.” Raine’s voice held thick, but steady. “This was not part of the deal… “
“Oh wasn’t it?” Osran cocked his head. “There was no specification as to what your performance space should look like…is your stage fright getting the best of you? How sad.”
Hunter blinked. He heard his own voice echo in his ears. “This is …”
“A perfect replica of Belos’ main throne room, of course!” Osran smiled. “He was very much a showman. All the ceremony and pageantry. I thought it fitting, do you not agree?” His eyes slid over to Hunter.
“I… I…”

Finally back at it. Here is the second of the #MyOwnCovenHead challenge.
Tumblr media
Enide Bureau. The Oracle Coven Head, Enide comes from an ancient family of demons on the islands. She experimented with divination magic in her youth and is said to have seen a future so horrible that she was left completely blind as a result. After several years in complete darkness, Enide managed to focus her magic and attune it to a relic of her family, the "Phantom Eye of Palanter" which not only allowed her to summon an ancient and powerful spirit, but also to conjure spectral eyes with which she has a psychic connection, going from being blind to being almost omniscient within a specific range.

Could be for aesthetic reasons. Could be because you think you would do the best with that kind of magic. Any reason works.

My goal in live is to have an actual coven, a Tudor cottage in the woods where I live with my pets and my witch wife. Possibly kids depends on the economy. Where I just play cozy games on twitch, work at a hotel , and just vibe through life happy and content.
SO WHY IS THAT SO BLOODY HARD?!

facts about that one moon girl with a crescent head that's an oracle?
Another fun minor character ask!!
OWL HOUSE FACT #29: Boscha used to tease the moon girl by saying that one of these days she’d get rid of those moon craters on her face. The moon girl did not feel sorry for Boscha when a stray Grudgby ball hit her in the back of the head. After all, one of them saw it coming, and it sure wasn’t Boscha.
(OWL HOUSE FACTS FACT #4: Her name isn’t Celine?? This is news to me)

OK another headcannon formed in my head and I want to share it.
Since Gus is now guarding the graveyard and the galdorstones, I figure he'd want to learn more about the galdorstones, (their history, abilities, and uses just to see why they're sought after so much out of curiosity).
But the problem is that there's not a lot of information about them in books. I also headcanon that the illusionists (before they died) did their best to hide away any information on galdorstones to protect them from being used for selfish/evil purposes.
So naturally, my main headcanon I'm getting at is that Gus tries his hand at communicating with the spirits of the illusionists through necromancy AKA oracle magic.
Basically, he gets information about the galdorstones from the main protectors themselves.
I mean I think he could do it, Perry is in the oracle coven and Gus doesn’t have a coven sigil, so he could tap into it if he concentrates on it.
If you think about it, Gus has always had a small connection to death (mostly with his lines in season 1, with one in season 2 in Escaping Expulsion).
Then there's this image that taking up my brain rn:

Idk, but the idea of necromancer Gus is eating away at me rn okay?

Beastkeeping coven:
-all the safety restrictions for the animals. -zero safety precautions for the beastkeepers. You prolly aren’t living to sixty in that coven. -Eberwolf is just kinda a bad boss. Not actively horrible or anything, they just don’t solve anything on a good day. -they’re a relatively small coven, so they don’t get a lot of funding. The whole coven is constantly in a state of budget cuts. -Typically a pretty good community. -There tends to be clusters of beastkeepers in rural areas, there’s less of them in cities.
Potions coven:
-Safety is pretty 50/50. Depends on your job, really. -Vitmir is rarely seen in public, he seems to keep everything running somehow though. -Pretty large coven size. If you can’t pick a coven by the time you graduate, potions is a pretty safe bet. -There’s a pretty even spread of them across the isles. It’s not like they’ll ever run out of work.
Abomination coven:
-Safety is pretty abysmal. They’re normally so caught up in “can we?” That they never ask “should we?” -Darius keeps things together. He’s pretty apathetic, but it not like things are falling apart. -Big coven. Not the largest, certainly, but it’s a pretty popular tract choice. -Clusters of them in cities, they normally work in research facilities or factories.
Plant coven:
-Def not the safest coven. Not the worst, but the combination of deadly pants and Terra tend to make it a treacherous tract. -Terra is an active nightmare to work for. Titan help you if you get her angry. She does get shit done, though. -Despite all this, it’s the largest coven. You can’t pretend their magic isn’t useful in everyday life. -Like the beastkeeping coven, they tend to live in rural areas.
Bard coven:
-Pretty safe. Not like they’re working in particularly dangerous environments, normally. -Raine’s a very understanding boss, but the bard coven typically doesn’t come out on top when there’s arguments. -It’s the smallest coven. The reputation doesn’t really incentivize people to join. -Most of them live in pretty urban areas, but there’s a decent few in smaller towns.
Healing coven:
-Ironically dangerous, especially if we’re counting burnout as a danger. -Hettie is ruthless when it comes to her covenmates. She’s not the worst boss, but you want to avoid her if possible. -Middling coven size, on the smaller size. -There’s definitely more of them in cities, but you can find a healer pretty much anywhere.
Construction coven:
-Safest coven in existence. Seriously, their worker safety handbook is as tall as Mason and is required reading. -Mason is pretty strict with keeping things in order. -Mid coven size. -Their members don’t seem to cluster in any particular area, which is odd, considering the concentration of construction projects in cities.
Illusion coven:
-About as safe as a regular office worker in our realm. -Adrian is an absolute dick of a boss. He’s the type to randomly make people sing their reports, and then not fix anything. -Fairly small coven size. -There’s a pretty thin but even spread of them. You can find one almost anywhere, but it might not be easy.
Oracle coven:
-High risk of madness, but other than that you’re good. -Osran never really does anything. He’s just kinda not interfering. -It’s the third largest coven. Who doesn’t want to see the future? -They tend to live in the middle of nowhere. Like, seriously, where are all these supposed members?

[IMAGE ID: two rectangular flags, with thirteen stripes each. the bordering lines between the fourth/tenth and fifth/ninth stripes are also rounded or bubbly. the second and twelfth stripes are wavy. the first flag has a four-pointed star in the center. the second flag has the oracle coven sigil in the center. the sigil is a stylized purple eye, looking at the viewer. it has a ray of lights resembling a fan sprouting out of it. the entire flag is different shades of dark purple, dull purple, bright purple, and light purple. END ID.]
oraclicession: a term relating to the idea that oracle magic is done out of necessity; whether that be for survival or as a profession. one may or may not be passionate about oracle magic; it can be seen as a dream job, or as a necessary evil.

My fave coven is oracle! I think it has a lot of potential for cool spooky magic and duels, and while I’d like to see it fleshed out in the show I think it’s also kinda nice that I can give my own headcanons to how all of it works :)
