bloodstains on blorbos and bruises on bottoms,
twenty-year age gap and tentacle cock come,
sobbing meowmeows all tied up with strings,
these are a few of my favorite things.
i’m writing a love song for problematic tropes

Meghan on day two of the grand opening of the Godmothers bookstore in Summerland, California. (9/7/24)
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, stood at the front of a new bookstore in the oceanside enclave of Summerland, California over the weekend and recalled the last time she set foot in a similar spot. It was back in 2019, during a covert trip to New York from the UK to watch her friend, Serena Williams, play in the U.S. Open. She stayed for a night in the West Village with another friend, designer Misha Nonoo; before anybody knew Meghan was in town, she went for a walk to a bookstore.
“For me, sneaking to New York five years ago was a really big deal,” the duchess said, describing how she put on a cap and kept her head down. “I was still so uncomfortable being out in the world,” she continued, hinting at that fraught time in her tenure as a working royal. “The safety of what I was craving, I knew I could find in a bookstore.”

BELOVED: A ghost story
To this day, I still have no idea what Beloved truly is (even though that's the whole point of her character). Most people write her off as just the ghost of Sethe's daughter, but in actuality, it's way, way more complicated than that. Morrison said once that Beloved represented every beloved person lost during the middle passage or due to the violence of slavery. This shows very well in Beloved's characterization. Yes, her core person is Sethe's daughter but there's also a lot of vindictiveness in her being. At first, she's mentally just a little girl wanting the warmth of her mother but then she turns mean and cruel, upset at being mercy-killed. Beloved's obsession with sugar kinda baffled me, but I guess many of the spirits within her used to work sugar plantations in the West Indies and since they weren't allowed to partake in the crop they grew, they're demanding it now through Beloved.
For the sake of discussion, let's settle on Beloved being the manifestation of every person forced to endure the trauma of slavery. Beloved craves. They crave the life denied them and crave some kind of compensation. They're angry, upset, restless, vengeful. Ghosts are theorized to be imprints left by the living and Beloved is all the imprints of African slaves rolled into one. She demands love from Sethe, sex from Paul D, companionship from Denver. In the end, she becomes a void sucking away at Sethe, a reminder that the past is easy to get trapped in and haunted by.
My personal theory on Beloved is that when Paul D drove her spirit out the house, she went to the afterlife and came back with the thoughts and memories of the other black people she interacted with down there. This is why her personality shifts dramatically as the book progresses. She's a revenant, poltergeist, wraith, dybbuk. She doesn't haunt the white people who perpetuated slavery, but those affected by it on a personal level. She is the past & trauma incarnate.

I'm pretty sure you could draw a straight line from the 1980's Satanic Panic to the creation of Project 2025, but I'm also convinced if Ronald Reagan was not president during the 80s, then the actual spread of the Satanic Panic would not have been as big as it eventually was.

so kyle manipulated simon into moving in w him and I think not even 72hrs later jace announced he was moving in too (because he and clary are having relationship problems) so he's now staying in simon's room with him and kyle's only reaction to this was to immediately teach jace video games and share clothes w him. kind of obsessed with whatever they have going on

I Loved You Before I Met You: A Love Story in Poetry
by Braodrick Patrick
About the Book: A girl discovers her lover's journal, a journal she promised to never read, and quickly finds that it is filled with his poetic thoughts regarding their love story. This book is written in a collection of poems and storytelling about two teenagers who fall in love at first sight. But sometimes love doesn't last forever as one of them soon learns that their cancer has returned and a battle that was thought to have been won is far from over. Could this be the end of love at first sight or is this the beginning of a true love story? Sometimes love itself is written in the heavens amongst the stars.
My Debut Novel is out now world wide. Novel is available online purchase at Amazon.com, Barnes & Nobles, Walmart.com, Book A Million, and many more Nationwide Book Stores.

I will say that I will always respect a "trashy" "poorly written" Romance novel for which the most the author has to say is that they offered their readers escapism in difficult times—
—over a literary fiction novel with a dozen accolades and book group stickers and blurbs praising it for being a "morally complex masterpiece" that "deconstructs the common narrative on consent in our fraught public discourse" "is sure to incite heated conversation" "offers a shrewd take on gender politics in the modern day" "teaches readers the nature of what it means to be human" or what the crap ever while actually doing Barbie movie politics for three hundred deathly boring pages.

Pretty sure many people had realized this but, I just had an epiphany that MDZS was just a cautious tale of the effect of daddy issues. I mean from Lan Wang Ji to Jin Guang Yao, everyone had daddy issues.
