I do NOT understand the lack of appreciation for Operetta x Johnny as a ship. They are literally THE most insufferable couple on the planet—they did enemies to lovers in 3 minutes, they gotta height difference of like 3 fuckin feet, and after Johnny’s introduction they’re almost ALWAYS together. Plus they’re both the same period people they 100% watch Grease and go “That’s so us”. Anyway Johperetta is one of my top 3

Summary: Ozzy Moo-ller just became the new kid at Monster High. He meets Kieran Valentine and develops a blossoming friendship with him, not knowing what his past was. Everyone told him what Kieran did trying to warn him about the vampire but he did what he wanted to do.

I walked into my school for the first time with the feeling of anxiety going through my body. I moved from the south all the way to New Salem where my new school is at. I looked and saw monsters of all kinds walk through the Coffin Corridor. Everyone looked super nice but I still couldn’t help but feel a little scared.

I had to meet up with someone named Clawd Wolf since he was going to show me around the school. A tall werewolf with sweet golden eyes came up to me.

“Hey!” He started, “I’m Clawd Wolf. You must be Ozzy Moo-ller, am I right?”

He put his hand out to shake it. I took his hand and we started to walk around the school. He showed me around and let me know where the hotspots for fangouts were. He was really chill and he said that If I needed anything I could ask him.

The rest of the school day went on and I have to say, everyone is super nice. I think I’m definitely gonna enjoy it here.

After a few weeks of moving to Monster High, I made a few friends.

I was walking to Study Howl with my two friends Johnny Spirit and Operetta when I accidentally walked into someone.

“Oh my ghoul!” I said helping him up, “I’m so sorry.”

I looked in his bright rosy eyes for a second, fazed with a feeling of butterflies in my stomach.

“You’re fine.” He said as he walked away, his shaggy dark brown and red hair falling in front of his enchanting eyes before he moved it away.

I stood there for a second taking in the feelings I felt until Operetta shook my shoulder.

“You alright, hon?” She asked me.

“Yeah, I’m good.” I said turning to her and Johnny, “Who was that?”

“Trust me, you don’t want to get mixed up with him.” She said as we started walking.

“That’s Kieran Valentine. He’s awful.” Johnny spat in.

“Why? What’d he do?”

“You should ask Claw what happened.”

We walked the rest of the way to class while Johnny and Operetta would talk about music. I was quiet the whole time. I just couldn’t get his captivating eyes out of my mind. He seems so nice. I don’t know how he could be a bad monster.

After Study Howl I met up with Clawd and Dracularua, his ghoulfriend, to talk about Valentine and what happened between them. Clawd and Dracularua told me how he came to Monster High to steal Dracualrua’s love for power. I couldn’t really believe what they were saying… I mean he didn’t seem like the type of monster to do that.

I said thank you to them and left. On my way to my locker, I saw him again. He was standing by my locker reading a book.

“Hey!” I yelled, trying to get his attention.

He looked up with a puzzled expression. When he saw me, he closed his book and walked over to me.

“Hello,” He started saying, a fake southern accent coming out, “I was waiting for you.”

“What? Why?”

“You dropped this,” He held out one of my pins. I must’ve dropped it when we bumped into each other… He gave it back to me and started to walk away.

“Wait!” I spoke. He turned around. Those beautiful eyes looked back at me. “Do you maybe wanna walk with me to your next class?”

“Oh,” He started blushing and looked surprised that I asked him my question, “You want to walk with me?”

“I mean… yeah. That’s why I asked.”

“Well then I would love too.”

We walked and started talking about random things like where we use to live and things we liked. He was actually super chill.

It’s been about a couple months since Valentine and I became friends and I’ve been getting a lot of warnings from my friends saying how I should stay away from Valentine.

I know what he did in the past and I even talked to him about it. He told me exactly what Clawd and Dracularua told me and how he’s changed. He feels bad about what happened in the past and how he tried to make up for it. He did change, it's just no one would give him a chance.

Valentine and I were walking home from school when we saw Clawd and Draculaura. Clawd and I got into an argument a couple days ago because he found out how Valentine and I became friends.

Clawd started giving us glaring looks. Valentine seemed to be very uncomfortable and upset about how Clawd was looking at us. I know he tries his best to keep his distance from him.

We passed each other and kept walking. Valentine was quite the rest of the way. When we got to his house, he started to open his front door until I yelled his name. He turned around and I immediately remembered how beautiful and charming his eyes were.

“I want to tell you something, Valentine.” I uttered.

“What is it?”

“I really like you man. Like more than a friend should. More in a romantic way and I understand if you don’t like me back but I can’t help how I feel about you.”

“Oh…” He mumbled as he looked down. “Ozzy, I’m sorry but I’m dating someone already. I’m sorry if I led you on or anything.”

I looked at him and felt crushed.

“Who is it?” I asked, trying to keep my tears down.

“Spelldon Cauldronello…”

“Are you happy with him?”

“Yeah, I am.”

“Well that’s all that matters then,” I said giving a sad smile. I walked away before he could say anything else to me.

I knew him and I wouldn’t be together. No matter how much I like him it wouldn’ happen. I knew it all along and yet I still made myself feel heartache. I guess it’s karma for how idiotic I was, right?

WTF what is this? Like is this BEFORE Johnny and Operetta get together? During? After?

Like I know those two are officially dating as of ‘Haunted’. The movie involving the ghost school. But why is this stuff happening.

More info on that Frankie x Johnny situation. I was really hoping it wouldn’t be like a major plot point but it most definitely is and I’m actually not okay with any of it 💀

WAIT HOLY SHIT, actually? A Monster High genderswap Phantom of the Opera COULD go had as fuck. But in my perfect world, they all date each other 💚. I’m probably the only one excited for this comic, because due to me often combining my favorite ships into polycules (Frackson x Johperetta being one of them just for me), Frankie x Johnny became one of my rarest pairs. And then I like Frankie x Operetta because of a single fanfiction so I hope they don’t make this comic super bad 😭

Chapter five - Being in Denile

Cleo strutted down the hallway in front of all of her loyal subjects. Some smiling and waving, others, mostly Clawdeen scowling and rolling their eyes. She blew kisses and waved back as she made her way to her locker. As she opened it a note fell to her feet. She picked the note expecting the usual, either a girl begging to be on the cheer squad or a guy begging her for a date.

'I hope you had a good time this summer,

I sure did'

She quickly folded the letter in half multiple times and shoved it into her purse. She knew exactly what it meant and who it was about. For a moment the note made her smile but she immediately thought about the consequences of her actions. Clawdeen and Draculaura soon approached Cleo, Clawdeen being reluctantly dragged by Draculaura.

"Hey Cleo, did you have a good summer in Greece?" Draculaura excitedly beamed. "I bet you saw so many hot guys,"

Cleo sighed. "Yeah, so many.."

"Must be nice, I was stuck on a rickety boat touching worms all day" Clawdeen tutted.

"Yikes, yeah your brother told me you weren't having fun," Cleo coughed at the thought.

Clawdeen rolled her eyes once more. "Yeah I forgot you and Clawd are besties now" She tutted. "I'm surprised you even got in that car this morning, I thought it wouldn't be up to your standards,"

While Cleo wouldn't have said it to his face Clawdeen wasn't wrong. Clawd's old car wasn't exactly luxurious, nor should it have been road legal. But Cleo understood that the car itself had been a hand down from their dad so she didn't really feel comfortable being honest about it's condition.

"I guess you could call it retro," She giggled trying not to sound stuck-up. "Besides I'm not interested in Clawd for his car, I like uh his umm"

"Definitely not those god awful mutton chops," Clawdeen howled.

"At least he can grow facial hair," Draculaura chuckled in her high pitch cadence.

The girls formed a three way line and strutted off towards the girls bathroom. They stood hogging the mirrors even through Draculaura couldn't see herself. Clawdeen would fix Draculaura's makeup and hair for her instead. The bathroom stalls were all empty but one. When Clawdeen checked underneath she couldn't see any feet touching the ground. She banged on the door as loud as she could.

"I don't think anyone's in there," She stated. "I gotta go to the library so I'll catch up with you guys in class,"

After Clawdeen abruptlyleft Draculaura and Cleo continued to apply their makeup and adjust their clothes. Cleo couldn't stop thinking about the note in her purse. It felt like it was burning a hole in her bag. She sighed deeply.

"Drac can I tell you something?" Cleo turned to her looking distressed.

"Oh my ghoul are you coming out to me?" She immediately jumped to.

"What!- No!" Cleo defended. "It's about Clawd and someone else.."

"A girl?" Draculaura continued.

Cleo stomped the ground with her heel. "No Draculaura a guy" she grunted. "I met up with a guy while I was in Greece, and he goes to school here, and I can't tell Clawdeen because she'll have my head on a spike"

Draculaura with her jaw hung open and eyes widely lit immediately grabbed Cleo's shoulders. "Cleo you naughty ghoul," she teased. "But wow poor Clawd,"

Cleo sighed once more but this time out of sympathy. "Yeah I know, he's a nice guy but we just don't click like me and this other guy did," Cleo screwed the note into a ball and threw it into the grey trash can. "I know I should break up with him, but Nefera told my dad that I was dating the basketball captain and he seemed so proud of me and-"

Draculaura grabbed Cleo tightly. "I get it, you're not the only person with an incredibly overbearing dad," Draculaura grabbed Cleo's hand. "C'mon let's ask Ghoulia, she always knows what to do,"

"She'll probably just tell me to do the right thing and tell them both the truth, she's no fun!" Cleo huffed as Drac dragged her out of the bathroom.

As the two exited the room a pair of purple boots lowered through the bottom space of the stall. It swung open with a thud against the wall and a gangly pale figure floated out. She had long purple hair that trailed further than her body length. Her eyes were wide and had no whites, only a misty purple glow to them. She giggled to herself as she realised the perfect crime was laid right infront of her. Gently picking the note out of the trash she saw the boys poor scrawl of a confession.

'Cleo De Nile the queen of being vile'

This was perfect. Finally someone had some real tangible evidence to strike Cleo from her throne. Cleo begging on her knees felt like the ultimate power move. She knew she had to make quick work of this. She promptlyfloated away into the ceiling, continuing to cackle as she did.

a gentle knock at operetta’s front door was heard as the ghost finally arrived at her home. johnny was only running about five minutes late, but it was only because he had gotten into some bad traffic. a few zombies had decided to throw a parade on the street he had to always pass by to make his way to his ghoulfriend’s. the cars had been backed up bumper to bumper, because the zombies were remarkably slow and took forever to clear up the parade. johnny let out an annoyed sigh, pulling out his phone and texting her to let him know that he was finally there.

for their date, he had decided to get operetta something to make her feel a little extra special. after all, he had been gone for a week touring colleges and had missed the ghoul like crazy. he wanted her to see just how much he loved and appreciated her, so he had bought her a bouquet of fresh, sweet-smelling black and red roses. before he had met operetta, he wasn’t much for sappy little things such as this gift of affection he had gotten for her. but, she had changed him a lot, especially the way he saw unlife in general.
