Despite the ongoing school vacation, students actively engaged in the event online, highlighting their commitment to health and wellness.
Children from various grades joined the online Yoga session, demonstrating their enthusiasm and dedication to practicing yoga from the comfort of their homes. The event emphasized the importance of yoga in fostering physical and mental well-being, especially during the summer break.
Particularly noteworthy were the contributions of three students whose essays on the theme of yoga received high praise:

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
INTRODUCTION
International Yoga Day is celebrated every 21 June around the globe to promote and raise awareness about yoga. Nowadays yoga has gained so much popularity due to its endless benefits and promoting universal theory of unity between mind and body. Yoga is a disciplined practice that connects your body, soul, and mind, bringing harmony and peace. The term yoga is emanated from the Sanskrit root yuj which means to connect or to join. Yoga is widely recognized and practiced globally, as it brings serenity and promotes good health. Within yoga, various postures, breathing exercises, asanas, and meditation techniques help individuals to stay calm. In this article, we will talk about the theme, importance, advantages, how we can contribute to celebrating this ancient practice and what is the involvement of NGOs and how they contribute in this social event to reach higher mountains.
Tumblr media
ABOUT
International Yoga Day serves as a reminder of the age-old traditions, techniques, and principles of yoga. To promote this day, people celebrate in parks, schools, fitness centers, or online communities where people connect through online mode to do different types of yoga techniques and exercises on their mats, uniting people of diverse nationalities and encouraging brotherhood. Seminars, Webinars, Events, and Discussions are held to increase the knowledge of people on the importance or benefits of yoga and also to discuss different types of asanas and traditional methods of practicing yoga to remain healthy and stressful.
The main objective of celebrating International Yoga Day is to:
Raise awareness about yoga for every individual and how it helps to remain healthy and overall well-being by combining physical activities, meditation, and spiritual principles.
Yoga helps in flexibility, strength, emotional stability, focused mind, and breathing exercises which help in preventing many diseases and contribute to overall fitness.
The versatile language, yoga surpasses the boundaries of religion, culture, caste, gender, and nation and brings all the people together for a healthy body with a peaceful mind.
THEME
Yoga for Women's Empowerment is the theme for International Yoga Day which focuses on the mental as well as physical health of women. The theme is devoted to women to have overall well-being, boost confidence, and have a positive impact on their health. Yoga is beneficial for women as it will ease suffering like back pain, and hormonal and muscle problems, increase flexibility, and body balance, and enhance bone density. Therefore, a strong and confident woman can do all the work effectively and efficiently. It also balances the emotions and reduces stress which helps in a calm and focused mind through various techniques such as deep breathing and meditation.
HISTORY
International Yoga Day originated on 27 September 2014 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) addressed yoga as 5,000 years old and it is an invaluable gift from Indian traditions. It is not only an exercise but a way to connect body and mind, thought and actions, and harmony between man and nature. This idea quickly gained acceptance. On 11th December 2014, UNGA declared 21st June as International Yoga Day because it is the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere and a special day for some parts of the world.
The first International Yoga Day will be celebrated on 21 June 2015 at Rajpath, New Delhi where PM Narendra Modi and dignitaries from different nations were present to execute 21 yoga postures for 35 minutes becoming the largest yoga class ever held with 35,985 people participating with 84 different nationalities celebrated together. This will be the 10th International Yoga Day which should be celebrated enthusiastically and mark this day remarkably.

Finding Your Perfect Yoga Class: A Guide to Making the Right Choice
In a world brimming with yoga classes, finding the one that aligns perfectly with your needs and preferences can be both exciting and overwhelming. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or just beginning your journey into this ancient practice, the key lies in understanding what to look for when choosing a yoga class. With options ranging from traditional studios to online platforms, let's explore the essential factors to consider in your quest for the perfect yoga experience.
Tumblr media
1. Identify Your Goals and Needs
Before diving into the vast sea of yoga classes, take a moment to reflect on your goals and requirements. Are you seeking stress relief, physical fitness, flexibility, spiritual growth, or a combination of these? Do you prefer a serene studio environment, the convenience of online classes, or the personalized attention of a private instructor? Clarifying these aspects will narrow down your search and guide you towards classes that resonate with your intentions.
2. Research Different Yoga Styles
Yoga encompasses a diverse range of styles, each offering unique benefits and approaches. From the dynamic flow of Vinyasa to the precise alignment of Iyengar, and the meditative stillness of Yin, explore the various styles to determine which resonates with your body, mind, and goals. Many studios and online platforms offer introductory classes or descriptions of each style, allowing you to make an informed decision.
3. Consider Your Schedule and Accessibility
Evaluate your schedule and availability when choosing a yoga class. Traditional studio classes may follow fixed timings, requiring you to align your schedule accordingly. On the other hand, online yoga classes offer flexibility, allowing you to practice anytime, anywhere. Consider factors such as commuting time, class duration, and the frequency of sessions that fit seamlessly into your routine.
4. Check Instructor Credentials and Experience
The quality of instruction plays a pivotal role in your yoga journey. Look for classes led by certified instructors with reputable training and experience in their respective yoga styles. Research instructor credentials, read reviews from previous students, and assess whether their teaching approach aligns with your learning style and goals. A skilled and knowledgeable instructor can enhance your practice and ensure a safe, effective experience.
5. Explore Class Formats and Levels
Yoga classes cater to practitioners of all levels, from beginners to advanced students. Choose a class format and level that suits your current abilities and aspirations. Beginners may benefit from foundational or gentle classes that focus on alignment and basic postures, while seasoned yogis may thrive in intermediate or advanced sessions that offer greater challenges and refinement.
6. Seek Community and Support
Yoga is not just a physical practice but also a journey of self-discovery and connection. Consider the sense of community and support offered by the yoga class or studio. Some individuals thrive in group settings with like-minded practitioners, while others prefer the intimacy of one-on-one sessions or smaller class sizes. Choose an environment that fosters positivity, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.
Conclusion
Choosing a yoga class is a deeply personal decision that hinges on your goals, preferences, and values. Whether you opt for traditional studio classes in Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, or embrace the convenience of online yoga platforms, prioritize factors such as alignment with your goals, instructor expertise, class accessibility, and community support. With mindfulness and intentionality, you can embark on a yoga journey that nurtures your body, mind, and spirit, leading to profound transformation and well-being.

Embracing Fitness During Pregnancy: Celebrating National Fitness Day with Moms-to-Be
As we celebrate National Fitness Day, it's essential to recognize and applaud the incredible journey of motherhood, particularly the dedication of moms-to-be who prioritize their health and well-being during pregnancy. Pregnancy is a transformative experience, both physically and emotionally, and maintaining an active lifestyle can significantly contribute to a smoother journey.
Embracing fitness during pregnancy is not just about staying physically active; it's about nurturing a healthy lifestyle for both the mother and the growing baby. Exercise during pregnancy has numerous benefits, including improved mood, reduced risk of gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, better sleep quality, and enhanced stamina for labor and delivery.
One of the most common misconceptions about pregnancy is that it's a time to rest and avoid physical activity. However, unless there are specific medical reasons advising against it, most pregnant women can safely engage in exercise. From brisk walking and swimming to prenatal yoga and low-impact aerobics, there are plenty of options tailored to the needs of expectant mothers.
On National Fitness Day, it's inspiring to see pregnant women across the country embracing exercise as part of their prenatal care routine. Whether it's attending specialized prenatal fitness classes, joining online workout communities, or simply going for a daily stroll in the neighborhood, these moms-to-be are setting a positive example for themselves and others.
Moreover, the benefits of prenatal exercise extend beyond the physical realm. Engaging in regular physical activity can help alleviate stress, boost self-confidence, and foster a sense of connection with the baby. It's a beautiful way for expectant mothers to bond with their little ones even before they arrive.
So, let's celebrate National Fitness Day by honoring the strength, determination, and resilience of pregnant women who choose to prioritize their health and well-being, setting the stage for a healthier future for themselves and their babies, while seeking the best gynecologist in West Delhi. Consult Dr. MS Geeta Jain-MBBS, MD, Senior Obstetrics & Gynecologists' (Infertility Specialist) for expert guidance and care throughout your pregnancy journey
