more ready player one cherik au ideas
erik is pretty much a complete loser irl and online and barely has any friends until he meets charles at the first trial and joins his online friendgroup (aka fc xmen) when he gets the first key
everyones avatars are more based on their comic looks so they all look a bit silly but its the oasis so its okay
thats pretty much it so far my brain is slowly building some kind of a story but it hasn’t gone into details yet
i dont even know if im gonna write this i just gotta dump my ideas here otherwise they’ll be sent to the void
#people who write fanfics are crazy (in a good way)#dont know how you guys manage to do this#thisll probably be more based of the movie than the book as i have no patience to reread it all just to get ideas#honestly if the oasis was real i would gladly just experience any movie this halliday guy has seen#thatd be cool#if it wasn’t all just based in 80s-90s stuff i would gladly live through xmen films#be charles xavier or something#altough i’d having magneto just hovering over my shoulder the whole time so i might leave those gays be#imma just be one of those oc inserts or something#i’ve definitely noticed my spelling and grammar is terrible#anyway erik falling in love with bald charles and then falling in love with charles with hair#raven should put charles avatar as bald as a prank but then he keeps it cause he finds it funny#trying to think if they should have mutations irl or not#cause idk how well superpowers would work in an online multiplayer game#especially telepathy#cherik#charles xavier#erik lehnsherr#x men#magneto#professor x#ready player one au#cherik au

I'm not gonna lie it actually depresses me how many people I'm seeing on here who bought into the pre-order for Veilguard. As if everyone just forgot the past 10+ years of Bioware releases...
#mass effect 3's day one dlc and tying the good ending to online multiplayer still haunts me#the jank of andromeda#it's the year of our lord 2024 and ppl are fully on board for an aspect of capitalism i thought we all agreed was a scam in the mid 2010s#bioware#dragon age#video games#preorder

Has anyone made a multiplayer mod for act 2?
I know everyone wants one for act 1, but act 2 is way more suited for it. Here’s why:
Deckbuilding: Acts 1 and 3 have their decks build up over time. Act 2, on the other hand, lets you build your deck as you please. This makes it a lot more akin to PvP deckbuilders like mtg and hearthstone. I suppose you could do something akin to super auto pets with act 1, but that’s a lot more difficult to pull off due to the other factors.
Balance: Act 1 is not balanced, it’s not intended to be. That’s not what Leshy is about. This is really fun for something like Kaycee’s mod, but not so much for an online multiplayer. Act 2 is designed to be more balanced. There are a few overpowered combos you can pull off, but they take a lot more prep.
Graphics: No, I’m serious. The aesthetics of the battle system in act 2 is designed in such a way that it’s practically begging for player customization. Players could customize the border, their intro cards, even how their board looks. This could either be what you see or what your opponent sees depending on how you go for it.
Someone has made this and it’s awesome.
It plays very different to the main game but has practically all the features described.

Rip to Nintendo's best online service.
We will never get what the WiiU and 3DS era ever did again.
An internet browser, Virtual Console, Miiverse, Streetpass, a digital shop that can load at a reasonable speed, and NO ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION
That amount of online connectivity from Nintendo will never come back.
#Nintendo#wii u#3ds#I know streetpass only half counts#Even the games from that era had better multiplayer functionality than the Switch games do#The Switch's online service is an objective downgrade

maaaan I remember in middle school, we went to a career fair, or technology fair, or something idk - but there was a booth with a desktop PC running Tomb Raider Underworld as like a tech demo
and everyone who grew up in the 2000s or earlier has something where they remember thinking "wow this literally looks like real life, graphics will never get any better than this," but seeing Tomb Raider Underworld on that PC was the only time I ever really remember thinking that
and imo that game still looks mostly decent graphics-wise; like it's not ray tracing DLSS 4K textures god rays magic whatever, but it's stylized realistic graphics, which I think always holds up way better than just trying to be as realistic as possible
not like I'm an authority on what good graphics are anyway, I played the Tekken 8 demo and I was like wtf how is it so detailed, why do I need to see every single muscle in his chest lol
#it's also a little funny that one issue playing online I've heard is ppl whose PC can't handle the graphics cause matches to lag#I get technology marches on and games aren't required to cater to shitty PCs lol but still it makes me think a little bit#like do we HAVE to see every single muscle in his chest at the expense of the online experience for a multiplayer focused game lol#altho mainly my gripe with that is what it looks like to me is rendering realism takes the place of developing a characteristic style
