idk who needs to hear this but if you're trying to write an evil alternate universe you gotta do something other than just make the characters into bdsm, that's not evil, that's just the normal universe with some added kink

Idk how to explain this but in my heart I know that Tuvok listens to the Vulcan version of a podcast that's like...This American Life where people come on and tell a story about something that happened to them and there's a billion episodes and it's the only thing he'll play other than spiritual music during trips. If you don't want to listen to either of those things he's going to enforce silence. Tuvok and T'Pel definitely listened to Var t' Vuhlkansu (Stories of Vulcan) together every evening they could even when he was on a ship somewhere - they called and just listened to an episode in silence. In the Delta Quadrant he still listens to it (old episodes as he has no access to new ones) alone in his quarters but I think Kes came in while he was listening once and stayed to listen to the rest which surprised Tuvok. Then she and Neelix and she and Tuvok (separately) started listening to some episodes together - she and Tuvok far more consistently than she and Neelix. Kes really liked the program and though Neelix initially found it boring he started listening again after Kes left and started finding it comforting. Sometimes talks to Tuvok about an episode that really captured his attention! At a certain point there's an episode where Neelix pesters Tuvok to tell a little story for a new segment on A Briefing with Neelix titled 'Tales from Voyager' where each member of the crew (over the course of several months) tells a story about some impactful moment in their life whether it's funny, sad, strange, etc. Tuvok does NOT want to even though it's good for morale and it helps you get to know people and it's absolutely harmless and you have nothing to lose by saying yes and everyone's doing it and also I asked the Captain and she said you have to. ("Fine.") Episode ends on a gag where The Doctor spends the whole episode writing and re-writing and agonizing over what story he's to tell...adding sound effects and having others voice act the other characters...writing his opus...a tale almost Shakespearean in its drama, wit, and intrigue...and then Tuvok's story which is incredibly mundane and told in a dry, matter of fact way, is an absolute HIT and everybody loves it. Tuvok is not pleased with this outcome. The Doctor even less so.

The fact that Spirk are softies that are smitten with each other while Mirror Spirk were ready to stab the other in the back at any second without hesitation. Because power is necessary if you want to survive in a world where everyone thinks only about themselves and love is a weakness.

That Mirror Kira just plays with everyone and have chemistry with... Herself and a very toxic relationships/flirt as opposed to prime Kira/Jadzia or Kira/Odo

And then we have pining prime Janeway/Chakotay that are obviously in love but have some stupid boundaries and the thing is? Mirror J/C relationship are exactly the same in intensity but they just don't care about boundaries. And this is why they can not only undress each other with eyes without any shame but also tease and almost kiss in front of prisoners. Mirror Chakotay have the same "puppy in love" eyes when he looks at her. She also compliments him and enjoys his company. He is her support, her crutch, she trusts him and he's loyal to her. And the Mirror universe rule N1 is that you can't trust ANYONE but yourself. Look how they both softened when prime said that he could never hurt her and they believed immediately bc they DO know that. They are evil and manipulative but they are evil together.

I def enjoy this episode a normal amount

Obsessed with his mother and always defers to her despite his seemingly strong and stubborn personality, unconsciously makes messes even though he purports to need things tidy, talks a lot and very loudly in a way where it's hard to engage with him (talking 'at' not 'with' you), reveals very little of his own personality and seems to more parrot things others say, doesn't ever want children because his wife would be "distracted" by them, hates alcohol but is almost always drinking milk, hates his father (or says he does), struggles with his faith but pretends to be devoutly religious, still throws tantrums which his wife cleans up as he's throwing them so it's like nothing happened, calls his wife 'mine' as in "me and mine" or "mine's the same way" to the point where it's unclear if that's her name or not, doesn't recognize her as looking exactly like Bloberta, had a bad relationship with Orel as a teenager but they're better now, protective over Block who he calls his little brother, always frowning and usually complaining, holds his wife's wrist or grabs at her dress when he isn't looking at her so she stays nearby, struggles with feelings of inadequacy and loneliness that he doesn't know how to remedy.
