Killer: a summary

...Cross-examining iterations, one of the peculiar features about Frisk themself is that if they are addressed as any other name when they fall into the mountain... their highness the royal foster is retroactively remembered as the same name. Even by his royal highness the late prince, who seems to mistake Frisk for them, when... when I wake him. And it's only in timelines wherein he reveals his identity that Frisk discloses their own. Meanwhile, their highness Chara only reveals their own identity in timelines wherein they're awoken by Frisk having a high-enough Level of Violence that Chara can use them to Reset the entire timeloop– effectively pulling the thread instead of backstitching. But due to the cause of this encounter, it always brings their highness to start another killing spree against human and monster alike as soon as they're beyond third-party influence.

In regard to this AT... this means that Frisk's identity can get mixed up with Chara's... and that one of the conditions for making contact with Chara is mass-murder.

...So... what if it were someone else Chara made contact with? What if the code were so tampered with that whatever the prerequisite for meeting them, whatever influence a third party besides Chara may have on their decisions, what if all that... was transferred to someone else?

...If the Errors' experiences and what happened in Othertale are anything to go by, this third party, the higher beings, the... the interference... they're not all the same. But hacking into the code just to assign someone other than Frisk as their medium... these "hackers" are so far consistently malicious.

In this instance, a timeline was altered only by... by a third party affecting Sans' choices instead of Frisk's...

...The Sans they modified even renamed himself out of identifying as his guilt... just like Geno...

“Killer” is... unstable. He hasn't shown the physical symptoms of oversaturation, perhaps due to how he was modified, but the powers at Frisk's disposal that the hackers sought to take control of... their Determination, their power to Reset... they were now his. And though the EXP he has been forced to gain has numbed him to his emotional state, his SOUL betrays him. The modification left it unnaturally visible, so it's kept in plain view how it struggles to reject the changes.

The SOUL'S level of instability can be put into stages. In the first, it is still red, but at least a healthy shape. At stage two, it morphs into an elliptical shape with a ring, at which point his eyelights vanish and he becomes more prone to violence. (Sidenote: his eye can still appear, but it is colorless and smoky). At stage three, his SOUL'S outline becomes erratic, he becomes frenzied and black fluid starts to leak from his eyes. Finally, at stage four, the fluid, likely symptomatic of EXP oversaturation, overflows, and it completely overtakes what's left of his senses.

(Note: Perhaps due to the aforementioned mistaken identity... he hallucinates Chara's presence after killing Frisk. Not that the killings stopped at Frisk, or that he only hallucinates them haunting him...)

...He was, of course... suicidal. One loop, he intended to leave behind a timeline without him or Frisk. But... Nightmare found him. Took away his access to Resetting... and recruited him.

Even in the unidentified hacker's absence, his SOUL was still altered, and Nightmare assures that it is kept in stage two to four. He could not be spared from regaining EXP... now sent out to find even more victims.

...I... don't know if I could handle learning about this Sans... if I weren't assured that someone... his Othertale counterpart... will eventually get him away from Nightmare's control... and... he'll find some peace caring for cats... ... ...

...Classifications are getting... obscure to differentiate. If AUs and ATs are the result of modification from outside, it completely flips the supposition that AUs are greater-scale ATs. It could suggest that ATs are actually smaller-scale AUs...

...Why is it so often him? Are they targeting him? Did he just... catch their attention? Was Geno an inevitability...?

Here’s a low effort fanon vs canon post cuz I forgot how to draw skeletons… honestly the canon one didn’t turn out the way I wanted but whatever :I

Oh and just to be clear both versions are awesome and killers creator is fine with the fanon interpretations! This is just a silly thing to see how the character has changed. Besides technically every version of every character is canon to the undertale omniverse just because of the way these alternate versions work… I’m getting distracted thinking about this again…

The Sapphire Knight

Sometimes I think about Chasmverse!Blue/Swap (Sapphire Knight) and his relationships with literal Gods & Goddess (and overall, the immortals)

Because like imagine seeing the (major) God of Death stealing borrowing your friends (who is like the head of the Gods/Goddess?!?) coffee stash, you probably be confused and terrified!

But Blue had seen this man get his ass beaten by a 3'8ft walking corpse (also said friend)

He seen (and had to stop) Dream, the Guardian of Positivity, shooting ARROWS at the garbage disposal!!

Blue knows that Nightmare, the (self-proclaimed) King of Negativity is afraid of the damn microwave!

The enchanting being known as Ms. Life, can't for the life of her figure how the WIFI work, and had to ask Blue for help multiple times

Dreamtale: a summary

Like Reapertale, this TALE is akin to mythology, and thus will be sold as such.

Ahem...

A long time ago, during the formation of the multiverse, there grew three sacred trees: the tree of life, protected by Quetzalcoatl, the tree of magic, which bore pears with rainbow flesh, and the tree of emotion, which took root in “Dreamtale.”

On one side of the tree of emotion bore golden apples of joy, hope and compassion. On the other side, inky apples of terror, despair and resentment.

The tree's first tragedy was when displeased interlopers attempted to take golden apples by force to relieve themselves of remorse or reluctance for the atrocities they intended to commit. The guardian, Nym, was able to fight them off, but not unscathed. Being the SOUL of the tree, her loss would mean the tree's loss, so she rushed to merge with the apple tree and create new heirs from the positive and negative essences of the apples– Dream and Nightmare.

At first, she tried to give them human vessels, but the soft bodies would strain to contain the fireballs until they burst. Hurriedly, she glanced around through time and space for a suitable candidate until her eyes rested on Underswap. Replicating Sans, whose skeletal body was more durable and efficient at venting their energy, the newborn spirits took residency. They would use a yellow flag emblazoned with a sun design cover the permanent bloodstain on the trunk of their mother, whose voice they could sometimes still hear, and at first, they only knew peace.

...As village settlements closed in around them, however, so too did those among the humans and monsters who assumed the guardian of the black apples to be malevolent. They in turn would show him their malevolence, luring Dream away to beat and slander Nightmare, while the other villagers did nothing to stop it. Though Dream noticed the bruises, Nightmare, who regarded his twin like a baby brother, would give only excuses, too fearful that the bullies would target Dream next if they were confronted. One of the last fond memories Nightmare would have left to make was during one of the coldest stormy nights, cold enough to be felt through their bony vessels, and the villagers were taking shelter while the twins stayed beneath their mother's arms. Nightmare took down the flag and wrapped it around Dream, assuring him that his cape would protect him from the lightning and anything else. And Dream would take those words to heart.

...As the abuse went on, Nightmare's view of everyone only worsened, and so in turn worsened their view of him. Soon, he closed himself off even from Dream, and Dream, anxious to attend to him, would only leave Nightmare alone when the villagers needed dire assistance.

But, though only for a short while, there came a day when Dream went to bring a golden apple to a gravely ill villager, and so the second tragedy finally came to fruition. In a desperate attempt to disprove his evil nature, Nightmare reached for one of the golden apples himself, unaware that the negative energy composing his true form would turn the bright fruit dark. Due to his recent misery, the corruption spread to the other fruit, withering their mother, extinguishing the warmth of their world and saturating the people with despair and spite.

Sensing the urgency, Dream returned to see Nightmare still in shock and a mob closing in. His efforts to hold them off were in vain as he was trampled, and Nightmare was vulnerable. He heard a voice from the fruit, encouraging him to eat it for strength and save himself from certain death... so he did. And he ate another, and another. He couldn't stop himself, even though their potency was fracturing his entire body, until there were none left. In his mind, the entity of the black apples appeared to him with his own face, promising safety, and Nightmare was too worn down to decline.

The spectacle stunned onlookers, until Nightmare shrieked in agony. Dream feared that the crowd had begun attacking him, but what he saw were four tendrils bursting out his twin's back, and the black sap pouring from his mouth, his nose, the fissures all over his bones, everywhere, drenching his entire body. Nightmare let out a final plea, begging not to let his old self be forgotten, before the black apples finished taking root in the guardian spirit and completely overtook him.

The entity that hatched from Nightmare, seemingly made of the foul-smelling sap, radiated intense anguish. Without warning, its tendrils lashed out and sliced through the crowd. When the entity turned its attention to Dream, its voice wasn't the twin's, but Dream still tried to reach him between sobs. He wondered if the light of the thousandth apple, the one he'd taken with him before, could perhaps cure his brother's corruption; but he realized that if he let it go, it too could be blackened, and if the last golden apple were lost, it would be the end of all warm feelings in the multiverse. The entity moved to strangle his vessel, preventing his escape, but in a last-ditch effort to keep the thousandth apple away from it... he ate it.

As had happened with Nightmare, the apple became his SOUL. He would no longer be in danger of being destroyed by negative energy alone... but while still ageless, he would be permanently bound to his skeleton vessel, as mortals are. And as Dream absorbed the solitary apple, he became attuned with the thoughts and voices of the emotions it represented, though at first it would be disorienting.

Perhaps he should have fled when the tendrils loosened in discomfort against their opposing force, but Dream chose to answer the cries for help in their falling village. Still reluctant to kill his brother, Dream called upon the apple's power to summon a defensive staff. And it would not be enough. Nightmare would overpower Dream, being absorbed by so many more apples, but Dream had turned to stone with the last apple still inside him. The entity didn't know how to remove it intact, so he would wait for Dream's petrification undo itself while he cut down what was left of their mother.

DREAMTALE was doomed, and Dream would not wake from the statue for 500 years.

...

When he does, he would adopt archery, learning to manifest positivity as arrows. And he would learn to transform his bow into daggers, connected by the bowstring, when under serious peril.

...But the third tragedy is that in every future, even the better ones... the end of Dream is inevitable, whether by murder or martyrdom.

and finally we get a stage photo now that the spoiler ban has been lifted, from what i could glean the play is a comedy about a science teacher and gym teacher building a rocket to go to space? even online distribution is tragically region-locked so didn't manage to purchase a ticket but it sounds like it was hilarious and a success!
