At the end of 'In Cedric We Trust', when Roland earnestly told Cedric "I was wrong about you", I hc he meant more than about Cedric stealing that crown from the museum and about trusting him in general. But about everything- throwing away their friendship as kids (whether the Incident had been caused by him or not), essentially always using him as his whipping boy and blaming him for everything, always judging him as a bungling sorcerer when he should have seen what a great sorcerer and a great man he was all along, being always so blind to Cedric's pain, etc.

And now that Roland saw his old friend in a new light, he was in a much better place to truly appreciate that the Incident had never been his fault (which he'd learned previously in 'Through the Looking-Back Glass', but barely reacted to) and that Cedric's life had been ruined over a simple misunderstanding.

That's likely when the deep remorse flooded in, allowing him to also finally understand Cedric's unleashed, pent-up pain he ranted to him about in 'Day of the Sorcerers' (which Roland technically heard, but didn't really hear or even consider because of how bitter he felt over his treason) and why Cedric felt desperate and angry enough to try taking over the kingdom.

I was talking to my friend and fellow analyst @tookishcombeferre about this, and we both agree!

ALSO. I absolutely adore the brilliant subtly at the end of 'In Cedric We Trust' when Roland asks Cedric if he could restore the damaged landscape from Prisma's attacks, and he restores it as good as new with his magic. No crack or blemish remained. Just like their relationship! (Ok, realistically there would still be deep scarring on both sides that a quick fix wouldn't cure, but you know what I mean.) For a show aimed at little kids, that makes the beautiful symbolism all the more impressive!!
