MAYSVILLE, Ky. Authorities are investigating reports of the sighting of a large, long-haired creature with 'glowing animal-like eyes' at the isolated home of a Mason County farmer last weekend.
Charles Fulton, 39, told county authorities he fired two shots with a .22-caliber pistol, but said it seemed not to affect the creature which loped off at a 'slow-motion kind of gallop.'
Fulton and his family were at their rural home in a heavily wooded area watching television last Saturday night when another child came into the living room and said someone was turning the back door knob. Thinking the child was playing a prank, Fulton made him sit and watch TV.
'A few minutes later, something liked to have tore my front door off,' Fulton told authorities Wednesday.
He said he opened the door and saw a creature more than 7-feet tall standing there, covered with long whitish hair. 'It was standing on two feet like a human and its head was taller than the door frame, which is 6 feet, 8 inches,' Fulton said.
Opening the door apparently startled the creature, which ran off the porch. Fulton went back in, put on his coat and got the pistol, He then went to the back yard, where he spotted it standing between an outbuilding and the house.
It was then he noticed its 'glowing eyes and hair like a horse's mane,' he said, 'I fired at it twice from about 30 feet away and don't see how I could have missed.'
He said the creature turned slowly and 'ran off at a slow-motion gallop.'
His wife, Wanda, 36, and several of the children said they also saw the creature from inside the house.
Fulton discounted the possibility the creature was a bear because of its upright position, and said it certainly was not a man in costume.
The sighting was the first of an ape-like creature in Kentucky for more than two years. At that time, motorists on the Pennyrile Parkway in western Kentucky saw a large hairy creature bound off into the woods.
Robert Gardiner, 40, a big game hunter for 20 years, is convinced he has found the lair of Bigfoot in the hills of southern Ohio near McArthur. He urged hunters to hold their fire if they see him.
Gardiner says an analyst, who examined blood samples taken from a tree in Wayne National Forest in Vinton County, described the samples as 'apelike humanoid blood.'
However, Gardiner says he will have the blood analyzed again to get a second opinion.
The first analyst, Gardiner said, 'could not break it (blood) down into one of the human categories, but it did come from some sort of primate.'
Gardiner, a native of Lexington and now a resident of Columbus, Ohio, is president of the North American Sasquatch (Bigfoot) Research Team, and has been searching in the hills for over a week.
'I have not seen them but I sure have heard them,' said Gardiner who has also searched the Pacific Northwest for the creature he believes is the missing link.

Ohio Grassman Folklore
People all over the world are fascinated and puzzled by the Ohio Grassman, a creature deeply rooted in American Midwest mythology. People often compare this mysterious being to Bigfoot or a sasquatch. They say it roams Ohio's grasslands, woods, and rolling hills, particularly in the eastern parts of the state. People typically describe the grassman as a massive, two-legged ape-like creature, standing between 7 and 9 feet tall, with a powerful body and thick, matted dark brown or black fur. Witnesses often say that the creature has a strong, unpleasant smell that adds to its mysterious and scary air.
Observations of the Ohio Grassman date back to the 1800s. In 1869, a group of hunters saw a big, hairy animal near Crosswick. This marked one of the earliest documented sightings. Over the years, numerous reports of sightings have contributed to the story. The creature's name, "Grassman," comes from the idea that it builds homes or nests out of tall grass and other plants that are around. Dense, remote areas often host these structures. Researchers find them surprisingly complex and carefully woven, suggesting a level of intelligence and adaptability that piques their interest.
Tumblr media
People who have seen the grassman often talk about how scary it was and how it behaved in a way that no one else did. Unlike Bigfoot, who is usually seen alone, the grassman has been seen in groups, leading to theories about a social system or family units. If this is true, it would make the Grassman different from other cryptids and point to a possibly complicated way of behaving. Different people have had very different experiences with the grassman. Some say it was a curious, almost gentle giant watching from a distance, while others say it was more hostile and threw rocks or posed in a threatening way.
People have been noticing an abundance of grass in Salt Fork State Park, located in eastern Ohio. It would be easy for a creature like the grassman to stay hidden in this large park, which has thick forests, deep ravines, and many caves. The park has become a holy place for cryptozoologists, experts, and fans who want to find proof that the creature exists. Over the years, many expeditions have returned with intriguing but not clear results. Researchers have found footprints, hair samples, and videos of strange howls and screams, but none have definitively proven the existence of the creature. These pieces of evidence, on the other hand, keep the argument going and the legend alive.
Tumblr media
Some people say that reports of seeing the grassman are probably cases of mistaken identity, hoaxes, or people's minds running wild. Numerous claimed footprints and hair samples have proven to be fake or belong to known animals. Even so, the Ohio Grassman is still a part of local legends and a reminder of the world's secrets. The creature has become an important part of culture, with many books, documentaries, and even local events honoring its story.
The Ohio Grassman is interesting not only because it could be a new primate species, but also because it reflects the thrill of the unknown and the human desire to find new things. The Grassman continues to fascinate people who want to learn more about Ohio's wild landscapes, whether it's a real creature or just a product of our collective minds. The story of the Ohio Grassman lives on, showing how powerful the Bigfoot mystery can be and how naturally curious people are.

Alleged Bigfoot Video Recorded in Ohio, Salt Fork State Park
Tumblr media
These bigfoot hunters meant business when they went to investigate Salt Fork State Park in Ohio for signs of the legendary sasquatch. Mysterious footage of a large and hairy bipedal creature is teased before the rest of the search is shown. They begin their hunt at a warning sign indicating there are dangerous cliff areas ahead and to stay on the marked trail. Beyond the path they find a surprisingly large number of bones, presumably the remains of deer…

What Is the Snallygaster?
Spend enough time around north-central Maryland, and you’ll hear about the Snallygaster. He’s spoken of and written about in a cluster of towns in Frederick, Montgomery, and Carroll counties, most prominently in Middletown, Rockville, and Sykesville. The trouble is, he’s almost never described the same way twice. Sometimes he’s part reptile, part bird, with octopus tentacles. Sometimes he has razor-sharp teeth. Other times he has a shiny metallic beak. Sometimes the creature tears the flesh of its victims. Other times it sucks on the veins of its victims until they’ve bled white. And lately the term Snallygaster seems to be used interchangeably with Maryland sightings of Bigfoot.
So where did the Snallygaster come from, and how did his name come to be applied to such radically different creatures? Ah, now there’s a story. The creature’s name comes from the German term schneller Geist-a fast-moving spirit or ghost whose rapid movement causes doors to slam and items to scatter. In north-central Maryland in the early eighteenth century, the German schneller Geist turned into the Snallygaster, a creature with overtones of European dragon lore and the thunderbird myths of Native Americans tribes. This monstrous bird of prey would whisk away chickens and small barnyard animals in the South Mountain region.
Occasionally, a tale would surface of a child being carried off. One branch of local lore stated that the seven-sided hex patterns painted on houses and barns were a charm to ward off the beast. (Few of these still exist in Maryland, though hex signs are still prevalent a little farther north in the old German settlements in Pennsylvania.) And so the stories continued for more than a century, firmly rooted in local folklore.
Written records of the creature don’t appear until 1909, when the Middletown Valley Register published an account from Ohio of a flying creature some twenty feet long, heading toward Maryland. A later issue described a similar creature in Maryland’s northern mountains, sleeping on a kiln. It woke with a horrible screech and flew off.
Fired by these tales, more reports came in, with witnesses describing an eagle-winged but fur-clad creature snatching farm animals, or tearing them apart and drinking their blood. Tales from out of state-mostly West Virginia and Ohio-described children being dragged off in broad daylight. Reports that cannot now be verified appeared alleging that the Smithsonian Institution offered a substantial reward for the creature and that Teddy Roosevelt planned a hunting trip to find it. The whole story soon died down, with a final report from hunters in Emmitsburg who mortally wounded the beast and watched it disappear into the night.
The authenticity of these tales is serious in question, especially because of the creature’s convenient disappearance-that is, until it suddenly reappeared two decades later during Prohibition. Stories began to circulate of thunderous explosions and loud screeching sounds from the mountain’s illegal stills, along with reports of a winged creature with huge tentacles. Hard to believe, but the monster carried people off who were getting too close to the mountain and left their bodies scorched and bled white. The Valley Register ran reports theorizing that the creature had probably hatched from an egg mentioned in the paper twenty years earlier. Sightings increased exponentially, and other newspapers including the Baltimore Sun began to cover the story. In some cases, the tales were intentionally ridiculous, featuring the Snallygaster swooping down from the clouds on an antique bicycle, wearing water wings and shouting, “Balance the budget!” More newspapers were trying to get coverage on it when the Valley Register reported the Snallygaster’s death by drowning in a vat of whiskey. The creature’s death probably had something to do with the fact that Prohibition was about to end and the moonshiners didn’t need the Snallygaster’s protection from prying revenue agents.
Sightings of Snallygaster still occur. At some point, the Snallygaster appears to have become a generic term for the bogeyman and lost its teeth (or beak or tentacles) for good. Any reports of a bipedal mammal called Snallygaster should instantly be filed under Sasquatch. The Snallygaster himself has been killed twice over and should be respectfully laid to rest.

'True But Strange Ep4' | Paranormal Stories
In this video, it's just 20 minutes of me (Mr. Black) rambling on about various old and new paranormal cases. Some of the things I cover include: The night a UFO crashed on a Kansas farm in 1901.
A marine encounters a strange creature in the road in Ohio. A woman in Slanesville, West Virginia hears a strange voice in her home. A pair of women in California observe four strange beings including one that resembles Chewbacca from 'Star Wars'. Hunters in Washington observe two Bigfoot creatures fighting over a dead deer. A family in Georgia encounter strange green-colored entities in their home.
Does Steve Irwin's ghost haunt the area where he died?

Bigfoot believers are fired up about a video, shared by OutThere Colorado on Oct. 10, that was recorded from inside a tourist train in southwestern Colorado. The footage shows a large, hairy biped walking across a hillside before squatting in the sagebrush. Some Sasquatch hunters are pointing to the clip as obvious proof of Bigfoot’s existence, while skeptics say it’s clearly a prankster in costume. In an email to OutThere Colorado, Shannon Parker said she saw Bigfoot over the weekend of Oct. 7. Parker and her husband were riding on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Train when they spotted the creature on the hillside. Another passenger seated next to Parker recorded the video on their phone while she snapped photos with hers. That video has since been viewed 3.5 million times on X (formerly known as Twitter) alone. The short clip clearly shows the creature walking and then squatting as the train passes by. When crouched, it blends in perfectly with the surrounding grasses. Parker told the news outlet that “seeing was believing," and that she and her husband were convinced the creature was Bigfoot in the flesh. She said employees on the train agreed that it could have been a legitimate sighting. However, the footage still falls within the dubious genre of Bigfoot videos, which are about as credible as your Uncle Kenny’s latest UFO sighting. And while the video is less shaky and more in-focus than your typical Sasquatch flick, there are plenty of people who just aren’t buying it.Several users on the Bigfoot Believers Facebook page have said it’s clearly a prankster wearing a costume or a ghillie suit. Others point to the zoomed-in image of the creature’s face, which could pass for an ape but also looks a little bit like a man wearing sunglasses.“We’ll take archery hunter for $200,” Colorado Parks and Wildlife wrote in its response to the video post. There’s also the location to consider since the creature was seen within eyeshot of a well-known tourist train. Skeptics wonder why such an elusive creature would pop a squat by a train route frequented by hundreds of tourists if not for a prank or a publicity stunt. “Much as I want it to be real, a train full of tourists would be a prime opportunity for a hoaxer or a practical joker,” another user wrote.Read Next: Ohio Woman Claims to Have Recorded Bigfoot Howls … Or Was it Coyotes?Others in the Centennial State will keep on believing, as Colorado ranks among the top 10 states in the U.S. in terms of the number of Bigfoot sightings, according to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization. Out of the 130-plus sightings recorded there, a fair number of those have taken place in and around the rugged San Juan Mountains.Traipsing around those mountains in a Sasquatch suit would be risky proposition, even though the laws around Bigfoot hunting are unclear in Colorado. (Shooting a Skunk Ape is perfectly legal in Texas but it’s against the law in Washington, for example.) Regulations aside, it seems some believers in the state will only feel vindicated by a corpse and not a recording.“I don’t know why we keep posting videos and pictures,” one commenter wrote in the Bigfoot Believers group page. “The issue won’t be resolved until a body makes it into the hands of the scientific community before the government has a chance to suppress it.”

A Shocking Look At The Unsolved Mysteries Found By Trail Cams
Are you interested in learning more about scary trail cam photos. Trail cameras have become increasingly popular for hunters, wildlife enthusiasts, and even paranormal investigators because of the amazing images they capture. But for some, the pictures and videos that trail cams have captured have become the stuff of nightmares. The trail cameras are designed to take pictures of animals and other wildlife that moves within its range, but some of these cameras have caught a much more mysterious set of images. From strange figures to unidentified creatures, the pictures taken by trail cameras have become the subject of some of the world's most frightening unsolved mysteries. One of the most mysterious images captured by a trail cam is the infamous "Cottingley Fairies" photograph. Taken in 1917, the photograph shows two young girls playing with what appears to be a group of small winged fairies. The photograph has been the subject of much debate and speculation ever since, with many believing that the photo is evidence of the existence of actual fairies. Another mysterious image captured by a trail cam is the infamous "Momo" photograph. Taken in 2015, the photograph shows a strange creature with its head cocked to the side. The creature has an eerie, almost human-like face and has become the subject of much speculation and debate. Some believe that the creature is an alien, while others believe it is a cryptid or an unknown species of animal. The most chilling images captured by trail cams are those of strange figures. In some cases, these figures appear to be human-like, while in other cases, they are more ethereal and otherworldly. Some of the most famous images of these figures include the "Bigfoot" pictures taken in Ohio in the early 1990s and the "Big Red Eye" image taken in Texas in the late 1990s. The images and videos taken by trail cams are some of the most mysterious and unsettling ever captured. From strange creatures to unidentified figures, they have become the stuff of nightmares and unsolved mysteries. Whether these images are evidence of paranormal activity or simply the result of an overactive imagination, they are sure to keep you up at night.

Sasquatch of the Sierra Nevada
Tumblr media
The Shoshone tell of a Jarbidge, or hairy devil; a large hairy, man-eating beast that was thought to prey on those who wandered away from the tribe. Large foot prints have shown up in Shoshone petroglyphs along side deer and other wildlife tracks on rocks along the Sierra Nevada range.
October 1985 in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, 19 year old marine, Butch Young was training at the Marine Mountain Warfare Training Center near Mono Lake, California. His squad was sent into the mountains one night for a training exercise. Butch remarks that that night was cold, there was snow on the ground, and they were patrolling at an elevation around 7,000 to 8,000 ft. The full moon illuminated 2 figures in the trees that, at first, was assumed to be the enemy squad. Upon further observation, Young noted that the figures were acting contrary to how a trained marine would act, giving no effort to conceal themselves, nor could he see evidence of a weapon or uniform. Young’s squad continued to watch the figures from a distance of 25-35 yards. Young states that from that distance he could clearly make out individual fingers of the hand of one of the figures in the moonlight. After a quiet stand off, the figures disappeared into the woods. The next morning, the squad reported to the center, only to find out that the aggressor squad was no where in the vicinity of Young’s squad. They were in fact 2 clicks away. Young said in an interview with the Ohio Bigfoot Hunters: “I saw something that haunted me for over 20 years. After doing some research and after talking to Bigfoot Researchers and some soul searching, I could only deduce and come to the conclusion that what I saw were 2 Sasquatches during a Mountain Warfare Training Operation with the USMC.”
Jaime Avalos is a man who has claimed to have tracked a family unit of the same 3 Sasquatch for over 2 years and across 400 miles. His story began in June of 2006 while driving about 30 miles southwest of Mono Lake in California. He claims that a creature that stood about 7 foot tall crossed the road in front of him. Avalos stated that his first thought was “What the heck is a guy in a gorilla suit doing up at this elevation?” The creature continued into the brush line out of sight and Avalos began to pull forward again when the creature doubled back across the road blocking his path once again. Avalos said then that he could see the details of muscle moving underneath the creature’s dark fur. Avalos felt that had the creature wanted to, it could have easily ripped him from his vehicle and Jaime would be helpless to do anything to prevent it from doing so. Since then, Avalos has found tracks consistently measuring 11, 10, and 8 inches on both the east and west side of the Sierras. In an episode of History Channel’s Monster Quest, Dr. Jeff Meldrum, Professor of Anatomy and Anthropology at Idaho State University and Bigfoot Authority, compared his own extensive collection of supposed Sasquatch track castings to those that Avalos had collected over the 2 1/2 years he had been tracking the group. Meldrum noted the much smaller size of Avalos’ prints, as the average Bigfoot track measures around 16 inches and is relatively flat, unlike Avalos’ prints that have a pronounced arch, similar to human foot prints. Despite the arch and smaller proportions, Avalos maintained that these could not be the prints of a human based on the terrain and circumstances they were found. Dr. Meldrum suggested that since there are almost no records of juvenile Sasquatch tracks, that it is very possible that when young, Sasquatch exhibit more human foot features that flatten and broaden as they mature.
October 2005 in Brown Cone, Sierra National Forest, Joe Walls was deer hunting around 8:30am. After hiking for a few hours he stopped to rest before heading back to his camp. At approximately 11:15, he stood up from his resting spot and picked up his rifle. At that time, a large fur-covered creature with red eyes walked out from behind a tree, they had a moment of prolonged eye contact before the creature swiftly disappeared further into the forest. As he watched the creature run off, he caught sight of movement to his left, he turned to see another two creatures, one large and one small, possibly an adult and a juvenile, quickly follow the first creature into the woods. Walls defends the claim that they were not humans dressed in costumes stating that it was hunting season and would be far too dangerous to be dressed like that in the woods at that time.
Mono Lake 1991, a man records his wife and children playing on the lakeside, as he pans across the horizon, something can be seen walking between rock formations on the beach. The figure wasn’t noticed until 17 years later when another family member watched the film. Stutchman Forensics Lab in Napa Valley, California took the film back to Mono Lake, and despite the shoreline rising 7 feet since 1991, managed to match the site of the film to the current horizon. After taking measurements and further analysis of the film, Video Forensics Analysts Steve Buller and Gregg Stutchmen determined the figure to be under the current waterline and measuring at a height of 6-8 feet.
Despite evidence inconsistent with other Bigfoot research across the country, Biologist John Mionczynski, although a skeptic, does state that the environment of the Sierra Nevadas would be able to sustain a large primate due to sufficient sources of protein with lake trout, deer, and pine nuts as well as proper cover and foliage. The smaller size could be explained as a regional difference and the corridors of movement discovered by Jaime Avalos could be evidence of a omnivorous primate following the ripening of pine cones.
Is there a small breeding family unit of Sasquatch in the Sierra Nevada Mountains? People have been seeing something in the mountains bordering California and Nevada for centuries, but definitive evidence to support their claims has yet to be found. Unfortunately eye witness testimony and physical evidence seem to contradict one another. The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization or BFRO continues to record sightings in the Sierras, the most recent being in July of 2020 at Mono Lake. After all of the craziness this year in 2020, there is no telling if 2021 could bring solid evidence of Sasquatch in the Sierras.

The Hunter's Attic | Character Introduction | Glenn
"We have the least interesting cryptids," Glenn mumbled, the step ladder wobbling with his shifting weight. "There's a giant snake, panthers," he pushed a book back into place. "A sea monster, though nowhere near us. Oh, and Bigfoot, but everywhere has a Bigfoot. Not that interesting."
"Ohio has a frog man."
"See? That's interesting. I want a frog man."
Glenn works for a local bookstore, quickly becoming Henry's friend as she explores more and more about the strangeness her aunt was invested in. He's extremely helpful in finding old research, and specific knowledge, all without asking too many questions. He's a hell of a researcher, and pretty good with a camera. Henry is keen to keep him safe from what she's diving into, though eventually it'll be a challenge to keep him from asking questions. Though as far as he knows, she's making a very specific Dungeons and Dragon's campaign.

McARTHUR, Ohio A man who has been searching for the legendary ' Bigfoot ' in southern Ohio says he has found new evidence that several of the elusive creatures may be living in the area.
Robert Gardnier of Columbus, Ohio, said he and several other hunters went into the Wayne National Forest west of McArthur recently and found footprints measuring 17 ? inches long and 9 inches wide.
Gardiner, who described the creatures as being 'very shy,' said he and his hunting party were surrounded by the creatures at one time.
'We had been to this deserted A-frame ... and were looking in this ravine for tracks and didn't find anything,' said Gardiner. 'Later on ... we came back to the A-frame and there were big tracks. These had to be made within an hour before we got there.'
He said the hunters went into the ravine where the visibility is limited because of dense woods, brush and brambles.
'We were looking at a specific sign on a tree,' he said. 'We found something on a tree. I'm not going to divulge what it is, but we were checking it out and we heard one bark.
'They have a barking-type growl like a chimpanzee or like a gorilla,' he said. 'We listened and then we heard one behind us, and what these two things were doing was communicating back and forth. They couldn't have been over 25 or 30 yards away from us.
'One was between us and the A-frame and the other was on the other side of us,' he said.
Gaadiner said he feels the creatures are only passing through the area heading for mountains in the southern part of the United States. He said one may have been injured and that is why they are staying in the McArthur area for so long.
'I've told everybody to quit shooting at these things,' Gardiner said. 'If you come across one, he won't bother you. He's just curious.'
Many hunters have tried to find the creature, also called Sasquatch , which is about as elusive as the Himalayan Yeti _ the 'Abominable Snowman' _ and supposedly comes from the Pacific Northwest.
Throughout the summer, Sasquatch -like creatures have been sighted and reported in southern and central Ohio.
Bigfoot reportedly was first sighted in Ohio near McArthur Aug. 24. Larry E. Cottrill said he found three Sasquatch -like animals near his home, shot at them and may have wounded one in the shoulder. Cottrill has since moved away.

so i’m watching Missing 411: The Hunted (2019) of the 411 series of books about missing people in forests and national parks and i’m thoroughly enjoying it
because it’s all mysteries like “we were out hunting and each of us sat in a line in the woods and grandpa never came out and we never found a trace of him” or “we were out hunting and our buddy went off to set up a blind and we went to the ridge and he never came back and we never found a trace of him” or “we were out hunting and our buddy went off to the cache for extras and he never came back and then all we found were his boots on the wrong trail and a fire and then a year later we found his backpack and a thermos carefully set up way way off the trail but in sight of the neighbours and then we found his bones.”
and okay i’m a bit :/ because they're going on about ~clusters~ of missing peple in an area without saying “we’re taking into account that these are areas where a buttload of people go to hike so like, statistically, these are still way more missing people than we’d expect.” for more :/ please go to the asterisk below*
and then
AND THEN they say “we wouldn’t usually include this next story but there’s audio and visual so” and the motherfucking story doesn’t have a single missing person and instead is about hunters camping in the woods hearing weird sounds and they don’t mention sasquatch but do start with “the sounds were made by a creature physically larger than a man (based on pitch and sound, height estimated between 7′3″ and 8′)” end with “an uncharted intelligent lifeform”  with a crypto-linguist giving his two-cents and not, oh, i don’t know, a biologist, for starters, and a ~mysterious light moving with purpose~ (how do you know it’s moving with purpose? you just think that’s what’s happening. it’s like saying “well that rock sure rolled away maliciously...”) which i just *head in hands* how is this the first conclusion you come to and also what does this have to do with the rest of the documetnary are you motherfuckers saying bigfoot is behind the disappearances without having the guts to outright say it?
and then IT GETS WORSE
"the last case i want to investige is even a little deeper down the rabbit hole. it’s not about a missing hunter, but instead about a strange experience one hunter faced in Lima, Ohio. it’s important to know that this isn’t a connection to the missing. it’s simply an odd event that’s worth looking into.”
THEN WHY IS IT IN THIS DOCUMENTARY ABOUT MISSING HUNTERS?
BUT WAIT IT GETS EVEN WORSE
BECAUSE and i’ll stop capslocking despite the rage still being as great BECAUSE they call it “the predator case” and it’s about - you fucking guessed it - a hunter in a deer blind seeing a blog in the trees just like the titual predator, y’know, the movie monster, when it’s in camouflage mode.
i can fucking not.
don’t give me a documentary about missing persons cases and then dedicate the second half to fucking bigfoot and aliens like a bunch of content liars. if i’d wanted bigfoot or aliens id’ve gone for content on that.
but frankly one quick glance at the author’s wiki pge and i’m not fucking surprised and this hidden rotten easter egg:
Following his work on Bigfoot, Paulides' next project was Missing 411, a series of self-published books and a documentary film, documenting unsolved cases of people who have gone missing in national parks and elsewhere.[...] He broadened his investigation to include missing people from across the world, and this led to his belief that he has uncovered a mysterious series of worldwide disappearances, which defied logical and conventional explanations. [...] As of 2018, Paulides has written eight books on this topic. According to A Sobering Coincidence, he does not yet have a theory on what is causing the disappearances, although he indicates that the "field of suspects is narrowing." Paulides advised  his readers to go outside of their normal comfort zone to determine who (or what) is the culprit.
* about that asterisk, this whole fucking series is a pack of lies because someone doesn’t understand statistics, emphasis added:
Kyle Polich, a data scientist and host of the Data Skeptic podcast, documented his analysis of Paulides' claims in the article "Missing411" and presented his analysis to a SkeptiCamp held in 2017 by the Monterey County Skeptics. He concluded that the allegedly unusual disappearances represent nothing unusual at all, and are instead best explained by non-mysterious causes such as falling or sudden health crises leading to a lone person becoming immobilized off-trail, drowning, bear (or other animal) attack, environmental exposure, or even deliberate disappearance. After analyzing the missing person data, Polich concluded that these cases are not "outside the frequency that one would expect, or that there is anything unexplainable that I was able to identify." This presentation was discussed in a February 2017 article in Skeptical Inquirer, a publication of the CSI. In the article, Susan Gerbic reported "Paulides ... gave no reason for these disappearances but finds odd correlations for them. For example, two women missing in different years both had names starting with an "A" with three-letters, Amy and Ann. Polich concluded in his analysis: "I've exhausted my exploration for anything genuinely unusual. After careful review, to me, not a single case stands out nor do the frequencies involved seem outside of expectations."
in conclusion: this fucking bullshit

Bigfoot and the Spottsville Monster
Where there's dense wilderness in America, you'll usually find Bigfoot sightings. Kentucky is no exception to this rule. There's actually more logic to the idea of a primitive humanoid surviving in Kentucky than in a lot of other states, because the terrain here is so pockmarked with caves that lead to thousands of miles of underground caverns that are still mostly unexplored to this day. If Bigfoot exists, he might well be a Kentucky cave dweller.
The area surrounding Uniontown has long been a hot spot for Bigfoot sightings. Folklore legends of all bipedal cavemen, ape-men, or gorillas roaming these woods have been common among locals for years and actually predate the Bigfoot concept, which began in 1958.
In 1988, two deer hunters from Indiana were chased away by a classic Bigfoot-type creature at the Higgins & Henry Wildlife Area outside Morganfield. In November 1996, a woman had a close brush with a ten-foot-tall Bigfoot and watched it walk away slowly and meanderingly, directly in front of her, heading toward the Ohio River.
In 2004, two campers were four-wheeling on trails in the Land Between the Lakes area and encountered a seven-foot-tall creatures with glowing red eyes and a peculiar snot. Although the beast quickly disappeared and there was no confrontation, one of the campers was gripped with an "overwhelming feeling of dread" after returning to camp and decided to pack up and get out.
In September 2006, a Trigg County woman was surprised to find a Bigfoot-type ape-man on her rooftop in broad daylight. Not being a believer in Bigfoot, she assumed it had to be some crazy person in an ape suit and attempted to talk to it by yelling things like "Okay, you're funny, joke's over, now who the hell are you?" with elicited no response. "It was like something out of a bad old movie," she said. "It didn't look real at all. It totally looked like a man in a really fake gorilla suit, and didn't think he was doing a very good job of acting like a gorilla either." But as she was rummaging through her purse for her cell phone so she could call a neighbor for help, the ape-man rolled backward, did a sort of a somersault, leaped an incredible distance off the corner of the roof to a utility pole-something no human could have done-and deftly swung from the pole to the tops of nearby trees with great speed. It was out of sight in seconds. Good work for a guy who likes to put on an ape suit and scare people.
Henderson County is another extremely active area. Kentucky cryptozoology expert Bart Nunnelly tells of a Bigfoot sighting at a specific spot on Collins Road in Reeds in 1968, and again in the same place in 1971. Nunnelly's family had many close encounters of their own in 1975 at their farm in Spottsville. In fact, Bigfoot sightings on their property became such a regular occurrence that the local police stopped answering calls regarding them, even though people in Hebbardsville and other adjoining areas along the Ohio River were also seeing the creatures. The Henderson Gleaner dubbed it the Spottsville Monster, and this term is sometimes still applied to local Bigfoot sightings.
In 1999, a pair of Bigfoots were seen in a field close to Highway 60 in Baskett. This incident illustrates well the "hidden in plain sight" axiom that applies to all paranormal phenomena. The person who reported the creatures noted that traffic was heavy that day, with lots of cars in front of him and behind him, and yet no one else bothered reporting the sighting. In 2004, two witnesses in Hebbardsville saw a similar pair of creatures eating cornstalks near a church, and in 2006 a Hebbardsville man found an anomalous tooth that he believes to be from a Bigfoot. It has characteristics resembling a human tooth more than one from any other animal and yet is far too large for any human mouth.

Small Town Monsters Unleashes
MOMO: The Missouri Monster September 20th
DVD and VOD Release Announced for
Narrative Horror/Documentary Hybrid
Small Town Monsters has announced the September 20th DVD and VOD release of Seth Breedlove's docudrama MOMO: The Missouri Monster.  The latest title to crawl forth from the production powerhouse behind last year's best-selling documentary On the Trail of Bigfoot, MOMO: The Missouri Monster seeks to tell the true, and truly strange story of the Missouri Monster. The hair-covered, three-toed monstrosity was said to have prowled the forests of Star Hill, near Louisiana, Missouri during the summer of 1972 where it was spotted by terrified citizens for weeks.  The film will be available nationwide on DVD, as well as Vimeo OnDemand, Amazon Instant Video, and VIDI Space.
The case gained national media attention during the '70s and remains one of the largest tourist draws for the tiny town on the banks of the Mississippi River. The latest release from Small Town Monsters and director Seth Breedlove, MOMO: The Missouri Monster is told in both narrative and documentary form. The narrative sections appear as a lost b-movie from the 1970s, inspired by Breedlove's lifelong fascination with grindhouse movies and creature features. The horror film depicts the widely accepted details of the MOMO legend and is eventually contradicted and corrected by the actual survivors who lived through the events.  Breedlove describes MOMO: The Missouri Monster as "Rashomon meets Creature from Black Lake or The Legend of Boggy Creek".
The film stars Adam Duggan and Sara Heddleston, as well as Animal Planet's Cliff Barackman and James "Bobo" Fay with special appearances by Janet Jay and Elizabeth Saint (Ghosts of Shepherdstown).
Ahead of the national video release, a midnight premiere is scheduled at the Kentucky Theater in Lexington, Kentucky on Friday, September 6th with cast and crew in attendance. The premiere will coincide with Cryptid-Con, a cryptozoology and paranormal convention celebrating its third year and featuring a number of renowned authors, television personalities, and speakers.  On Friday, September 13th, the Canton Palace Theatre in Canton, OH will play host to the Ohio Premiere of MOMO with cast and crew in attendance. Finally, on September 20th, as MOMO hits audiences nationwide, the Missouri Monster will storm the State Theater in Point Pleasant, WV as part of the kickoff for the annual Mothman Festival.
The year was 1972 and the place was a tiny, quaint, riverfront town called Louisiana, Missouri. On a warm summer evening, two local kids saw a creature in their own backyard holding a dead dog. Before you could say the word "Bigfoot", local media and police officials had pounced on the story. Overnight Louisiana became "monster central" with creature seekers and monster hunters combing the woods to look for "the thing" that the newspapers had dubbed "MOMO". One particular family was at the center of this whirlwind of activity and as the Missouri Monster sightings began to increase, so did the negative impact on the Harrisons.
In 1975, a film crew set out to tell an over-the-top, filmic version of the MOMO sightings. Due to one reason or another, this should-have-been-cult-classic was never released. Until now.
