Hey, hoping you could help me find a fic. It's stucky, no powers au in a modern setting. In the fic Bucky and Steve are in their 20s (or around that), but they knew each other before. They were friends when they were kids. As kids, they went on a hike, there was an accident and Bucky lost his arm. Bucky's dad tells Steve that Buck died, so Steve and his mum move (it's mentioned they even had a headstone made for Bucky). Also Bucky's dad is abusive, and while he has a prosthetic made for Bucky, it is lower quality. Later in the fic Bucky meets Tony who says some shit about the arm (i think the old one was made by Hammer) and offers to make a better one. Bucky makes a point to surprise Steve with the new arm. I usually don't read anything that takes place after Age of Ultron, but boy, oh, boy is this worth it.

I promise you that this is the best fix-it fic for after the Civil War film, because it doesn't fix it. It deals with it. That's the joy of these pieces. They're about bridging the gap, and I just adore that.

Also this one gets me right in the feels. The writer is really good at doing their writing thing.
