This is Zu—I mean, Jian Li and Katara's second meeting in the Kyoshi Warriors AU. The first proper one, anyway.

Once they get through a minor difference of opinion or two (“I can carry my own basket!” “Never said you—” “I'm not weak!” “I didn't—” “Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean—” “Would you listen for once, woman?!” ) they'll become nearly inseparable.

For now Jian Li will carry Katara's basket all the way to the Kyoshi Warriors' dojo and, once there, they'll mercilessly tease Sokka when they see him in uniform.

Banshee Star

When Ember asked him to be her duet at a concert, Danny didn't think it was a good idea, but the ghost insisted and said she was sure he had a very good voice. In the end the halfa accepted, and they passed off their ghostly appearance as some kind of exotic make-up. They were Phantom and Ember, "Ghost Stars".

Oddly enough, that was how Danny discovered that his voice was...strangely good for singing. The people around him seemed vaguely hypnotized before Ember snapped them out of said state with a solo on her guitar. People said it was an amazing experience.

Danny decided to accept more of the ghost invitations and in a very short time they had become very popular musicians - they even toured! but when they were passing through Gotham, they were stopped by the dark knight.

Batman was very concerned about the mind control he had noticed at several concerts and decided to confront the source. It was best to thwart their plans before they happened. His sons were not convinced about his deductions.

Suffice it to say, what with Kathryn Hahn saying that Rio was there in episode 1, helping her break Wanda's spell, Rio's patience, enamored smiles and gentle nature hit different now.

Had Rio wanted it that much (and she cries when Agatha dies and she respects Agatha's rejection of their love once she's let some centuries old steam off, i.e., the physical confrontation), she could have found a way to kill Agatha right there and then.

But no. She wanted Agatha to remember who she was first.

"I've missed you."

What Death, a 6 million years old cosmic being, has only ever wanted--as far as human passions go--was Agatha's attention, to be loved by her.

idk i just think it’s a little weird that almost every character who gets the “innocent baby” / “little ray of sunshine” treatment usually ends up just having neurodivergent traits and actual negative traits in the show that nobody pays attention to. like idk man it just feels like diet infantilization to me and it’s a teeny weeny bit uncomfortable to see all the time

there’s a question to be asked i think about to what extent “getting out” can be conflated with “being saved” in this show, and what freedom actually means to any of these characters.

like you can argue that shiv saved ken by voting against him on gojo, but what if your intent behind saving someone is to inflict a worse punishment than if you’d just left them trapped? can a child weaned on poison survive on milk, or are you just sentencing them to a death by inches, starved of the only thing they know? and if you save someone specifically because you know that being saved is the worst thing that can happen to them, is that kindness or cruelty? at what point does a good thing become a malicious act?

and you can say that roman is finally free, but what exactly is he free from? the company? his father? does unlocking a cage mean saving a dog, or are you allowing him out on the street knowing there’s a kill shelter nearby? if the driving anxiety behind roman is that he’s an idiot and a failure—that he’ll never amount to anything, and trying will only lead to pain—and he’s finally cut loose once all of those anxieties have crystallized into cold hard fact in his mind, what has he actually escaped from? if the cage is in your mind, is it even possible for somebody else to unlock it?

the fundamental truth of a tragedy is that even being saved can be a death sentence, if the characters are incapable of escaping the thing doing them the most harm (themselves and their childhoods)

constantly thinking about this expression on michonne's face right before the kiss in 7x08, the relief and the pride and the joy. I have to think that seeing rick so broken and defeated was giving her awful flashbacks to mike giving up and losing andre as a result and it makes so much sense that she went off on her own and defaulted to self reliance because she can't go through that again. burn me once, etc. she was so scared she was losing rick to his own fear and even as she galvanized him with that speech she was probably terrified that it wouldn't be enough, that her partner was gonna quit on her again. and then he just! agrees! just like that! and in that moment she feels so validated in her love for him because she hasn't lost him after all, he listens to her and he's still with her. and this same expression on her face is mirrored in towl 1x04 when he finally verbalizes his trauma and allows her to get through to him. that look of there you are. I knew you were still in there. he proves to her that she is right to fight for him because even when he's terrified he comes back to her. something something you know why I fell in love with you? because you're a fighter. and you never give up.
