Heavy spoilers below, so don’t read it if you haven’t watched c3 ep 52.
I mean it 👁️👁️
I am just-- vibrating in excitement at the FCG content we got this episode and might be getting more of soon™
FCG’s convos with Frida? Banger so far and I can’t wait for more. Especially when it comes to- of course- them being Aeormatons, and how FCG wants to believe in the Changebringer while Frida’s like “but why tho’????🤨”
FCG’s convos with Deanna? Love them a fuckton too. And I’m still smiling at that moment between FCG and Deanna where she gave them her knitted scarf thingy, and FCG told her how she should save it for someone that needed it, and she said “I did” like alkjfhalkfhjalkshjfla You’re tearing me apart, Aabria orz God damn
FCG potentially having an acronym behind their facemask? Makes me wonder- if they do get it open and see an acronym there- whether they might try using that name as well along with FCG and Letters.
FCG potentially having their wheel switched out for robotic legs? I am very interested to say the least, and- if they do switch out their wheel with legs- I wonder how their missing buddies are gonna react to that (especially Ashton since they wouldn’t need to carry FCG as much around in difficult terrains (tho’ mostly stairs) then).
FCG using Shared Dream on Frida to experience what might be Frida’s Aeor memories? HO BOY DO YOU KNOW I’M EXCITED FOR THAT. Also the sorta high potential of FCG snapping during that if they see something that might trigger them a bit, as some critters have pointed out :]
Just lots of stuff I’m excited for with this lil’ robit <3
#Of course I'm also excited about other stuff in this episode that didn't relate too much with FCG#But I'm just really excited about my lil' guy y'know?#They finally got to meet and befriend someone that's like them for once <3#I do have to say tho' that the Chetney and Deanna stuff is fucking tasty af. gimme more#And also the angst that Imogen and FCG- along with others that has Sending- are unable to contact their friends is delicious#Makes me also wonder if Orym's Sending Stone works#FCG#Frida#Deanna#Bells Hells#CriticalRole#cr spoilers#cr3 spoilers#critical role spoilers#cr3 ep52

Propaganda
Josephine Baker (The Siren of the Tropics, ZouZou)— Josephine Baker was an American born actress, singer, and utter icon of the period, creating the 1920s banana skirt look. She was the first black woman to star in a major motion film. She fought in the French resistance in WWII, given a Legion of Honour, as well as refusing to perform in segregated theatres in the US. She was bisexual, a fighter, and overall an absolutely incredible woman as well as being extremely attractive.
Anne Baxter (The Ten Commandments, All About Eve)—her soft, gentle voice in "all about eve", those gentle eyes with something odd behind them, the way she flips from Sweet Innocent to Viper on a dime......there was something Built Different about anne baxter, man, and it makes her so good for playing people who are Built Wrong. also one of my favorite batmen villains (her joint episode w vincent price is a delight) and of course I'm obsessed with her columbo episode where she bosses around edith head and does fabulous movie star things for no good reason. and i would be REMISS if i didn't mention her slink—oh the slink—in the ten commandments...................pardon me i must go think of sinning again
This is round 4 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Josephine Baker:
Black, American-born, French dancer and singer. Phenomenal sensation, took music-halls by storm. Famous in the silent film era.
Let's talk La Revue Negre, Shuffle Along. The iconique banana outfit? But also getting a Croix de Guerre and full military honors at burial in Paris due to working with the Resistance.
She exuded sex, was a beautiful dancer, vivacious, and her silliness and humor added to her attractiveness. She looked just as good in drag too.
So I know she was more famous for other stuff than movies and her movies weren’t Hollywood but my first exposure to her was in her films so I’ve always thought of her as a film actress first and foremost. Also she was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture so I think that warrants an entry
Iconic! Just look up anything about her life. She was a fascinating woman.
Anne Baxter:
The prettiest murderer in that film. Just so beautifully evil as Nefertari.
Anne Baxter was part of my Bisexual Awakening. My family has a tradition that every Palm Sunday we watch The ten commandments on TV together... And starting from a very young age, I essentially developed a crushes on Anne Baxter's Nefertiri & Yul Brynner's Ramses. Dude, the woman was HOT! They both were! My crush definitely wasn't helped by the fact that Anne Baxter's costumes were a bit on the sheer side. She had a way of capturing you with her eyes, and I never understood why Charlton heston's Moses didn't just have a threesome with Nefertiri and Ramses. LOL
Her Nefertiri in The Ten Commandments was FORMATIVE TO ME. If not the hottest old movie lady, then she definitely played the hottest old movie character. if that makes sense.
Look. Listen. I only *just* discovered her on a post from the Have You Seen This Romcom poll blog. Saw she had the same last name as me and went OOH hi hello. Went to her IMdB and saw she was born in Indiana like moi. I am now even more intrigued. Been eagerly telling my partner this, and he was like "maybe you guys are distantly related?" And after 2 hrs of going down the tumblr tag + her imdb photos, I'm In Deep(tm) and I can't stop looking at her like 😍 When I go to my grandma's house, bet your ass I'm gonna check my grandpa's genealogy and see if we're somehow related. Sorry that's not really propaganda I just got real excited, esp when I saw that the submission deadline was extended (bless your soul). Narrowing down the movies where she's hottest in was Hell tyvm. I've only just discovered her, she looks gorgeous to me in every movie still I see of her gdi lol.

Wild Life Episode 3 Thoughts
Sorry I don't have very good commentary this week. I was really busy and then life happened so I watched these POVs over the course of 6 days and didn't always take live notes.
The snail gimmick is iconic! Another amazing wildcard and a good Grian reference as well as being memey!
Someone joked about them being soulbound to the snails and I'm praying for the return of a soulbond Wildcard so hard right now
I'm genuinely concerned Skizz and Jimmy won't make it to episode 5. I hope we get some more passive wildcards coming up or this is going to be a pretty short series (also I would like them to get some stuff done)
Grian freezing the game is the lore event ever. Watcher powers are real but also he's clearly fighting back against their agenda more this season (once again such angst potential here RE: Grian knowing the wildcards ahead of time)
Ren digging all those holes looking for their horse is literally the definition of insanity and it's hilarious
Martyn and Etho interacting is always interesting both because the anime skin boys are hanging out together and because they have literally opposite playstyles. Martyn is crazy reckless and Etho is soo careful.
WHY DO REN AND MARTYN HAVE A DOUBLE BED
I really want to know all the snail names, since not everybody died this ep
I love that we're kind of going back to "suggestions" again, what with Tango killing Skizz and Martyn making snails invisible just for kicks. It feels like 3L and it's so fun.
I was so excited for Bdubs angst hour only for him to change his mind and not feel bad about anything after all
Etho's monologue 😂. The reason the go for you early is because they see you as a threat, not because they think you're not tough OMG.
Etho don't die to a creeper in the life series challenge impossible
Watching PICS build a base was actually so refreshing. I love the snail gimmick very much but it was nice to watch a POV where they were actually doing some classic life series stuff
Scott predicting violence for the next ep is...concerning lol. I don't know what he's seeing that I'm not, but outside of wild card stuff it doesn't really feel like we're at that point just yet
Actually I wouldn't put it past Tango to go wild. I'm just not sure the other Tuff Guys will follow him
I will be quoting "He's coming and he has only violence in his heart" from now on thank you Scott
Joel saying they have no enemies is so funny. The reason you don't have any enemies is cause everyone is too scared to cross you 😂.
Gem being excited about her snail while everyone else panics is iconic I love her
Joel giving Skizz a PVP lesson is so funny because Skizz *can* PVP from what I recall (I haven't seen a lot of Skizz so I could be wrong here)
Jimmy blowing up the car in front of Joel, Gem and Etho is the definition of "history doesn't repeat itself, it rhymes"
Lizzie I love you but you need to turn down something on your texture pack because everything is so bright
Bdubs manufacturing Tuff Guy behavior killed me. All of the Tuff Guys are such wet cats I love them <3
I've never watched Empires, but the bit where Jimmy gets blown up by a creeper has such powerful older sister/younger brother energy that I think I might have to headcanon them as siblings now
Scar and Lizzie being in the caves for the introduction of the snails and trying to figure out what's going on feels like a horror movie premise. People mysteriously dying to snail related stuff, and then a mob that's not in the game shows up and looks similar to the other person you're with and is following you around...
Team Bam/The Bamboozlers are as chaotic and struggling as hard as I expected. I don't actually want Lizzie to loose her teammates because I want everybody in until the last session, but it would be really funny if she did.
#mine#wild life smp#wild life smp spoilers#grian#martyn inthelittlewood#ethoslab#joel smallishbeans#lizzie ldshadowlady#scott smajor#watcher lore#i feel like i both wrote too much and not enough here but have my wl thoughts before the next eps drop tomorrow lol

Episode Seven: Hook Man
Dean Winchester in the Supernatural episode Hook Man
I was racking my brain trying to remember this episode as it began. The synopsis I read didn't ring any bells and the opening seemed completely unrecognizable to me. I guess after watching 300+ episodes multiple times you're bound to forget one or two.
So I was a little excited to get into this one and see what I forgot.
Sam and Dean investigate murders seemingly committed by the Hook Man of urban legend.
Another episode where we see Dean on the laptop looking for jobs. Sam is worrying that they can't find John and that there has been no sign of him at hospitals or morgues. (Weird thing to be worried about, Sam, but okay.)
Dean has a revelation that they both end up forgetting about before the season is over:
"I don't think Dad wants to be found." Dean is seemingly (and oddly) okay with this.
So the first dude the Hook Man kills is a frat boy which means Dean and Sam get to pretend to be frat boys to infiltrate the kid's inner circle. More of Dean as a frat boy would have been fun but, yeah, I get it, this is about Sam's journey this week.
Sam can relate to the girl whose date got killed (you know, because his girlfriend is dead. Did you know Sam's girlfriend is dead?) except Sam is a lot more broken up about Jess than this one is about her dead boyfriend.
When Sam tells Dean he believes the girl's story, we get a line from Dean because the writers want to bang it over our heads that Dean is a womanizer.
"I think she's hot too."
This is me rolling my eyes.
Daen does a lot of research in this one.
So FINALLY I start to remember this episode when the actor whose name I missed at the beginning of the episode shows up: Dan Butler. The minute I saw him I yelled "Bulldog!" and then remembered what the outcome of the episode was. Yeah pop culture clues!
Interesting note about canon/lore/whatever we're calling it. Up until now, Sam was not aware of using rock salt packed shells to shoot at spirits to slow them down. So sometime after Sam went to college John and/or Dean figured this out?
Oh, it was Dean. Who gets another great dig in at his brother when Sam, impressed with the rock salt shells, asks, "You and Dad think of this?" and Dean replies:
"I told you, you don't have to be a college graduate to be a genius.'
You fucking go, Dean.
So Sam gets arrested (man I hope no one is reading this for a true summary of the episode) and Dean gets him out by telling the sheriff they were in a frat and Sam was being hazed.
Dean to the fucking rescue again - and using his big brain too.
Two co-eds walk by Sam and Dean at one point, prompting Dean to exclaim, "Dude, sorority girls! Think we'll see a naked pillow fight?"
Because of course someone wrote that line for Dean.
Weird little thing that happens in this ep that never gets mentioned even as Dean takes it off the windshield, the Impala gets a parking ticket. Now there's no way Dean ever pays a parking ticket and they keep the same license plate for years so I guess the whole thing about Chuck watching out for them really did start in season one, huh?
They hit a frat party that Dean actually (begrudgingly but voluntarily) leaves to go to the cemetery and look for the unmarked grave of the Hook Man while Sam goes and stares at Dan Butler's house waiting for the daughter to do something unhinged.
This is the first episode where a body gets salted and burned. (They've tried in other eps but this is the first one when it gets done.) Dean uses matches. I'm sure it's noted in some wiki when they start using the Zippo but I'll wait.
Also, Dean digs the grave alone, prompting him to say, "Next time I get to watch the cute girl's house." (And in this case, the line is perfect.)
Sam gets to kiss a girl who isn't Jess! But it's only because she's so fucked up about all the death stuff...and it doesn't matter because he's not feeling it because of the whole dead girlfriend thing.
So the girl is the one inadvertently sending the Hook Man/Violent Spirt dude to kill people who are doing wrong...it's a little whackadoo as far as reason go but we're going with it because it's Supernatural.
When the Hook Man comes to get the dad (for having an affair with a married woman) Sam and Dean figure out just burning the bones didn't help and we learn that no one thought to get rid of the hook...you know, the thing doing the killing. Yada yada yada, Dean comes up with the idea to check the church records to see if the church had it...it did and they melted it down to the chain Sam's new girlfriend (joking!) is wearing.
But first Dean gets to save Sam's ass by shooting the spirit when it is about to attack him...then Dean burns the chain.
Let's be honest, Dean does most of the work in this episode.
At the end of the episode, Dean is in the Impala waiting for Sam to day goodbye to the girl (whose name I have already forgotten). He's visibly disappointed that Sam makes no attempt to SAY goodbye if you get what I'm saying.
Once Sam gets into the car, Dean offers to stay - presumably so Sam can get some (although in fairness, I think Dean really does think Sam made a connection and is running from it) - but emo Sam is back and all he does is shake his head sadly...which is what Dean does too before they drive away.
Some notes for posterity:
The significant music from this episode comes from Quiet Riot: Metal Health and Boston: Peace of Mind
The brothers pose as fraternity brothers from Ohio transferring to the school in Iowa. They use their real first names when introducing themselves to everyone.
This is the first episode in which Sam gets arrested
Movie References: Sam mentions The Invisible Man, Dean calls Sam "Dr. Venkman" (from Ghostbusters), the naked pillow fight comment is most likely a nod to Animal House, and Dean gets a TV reference in as well by calling himself Matlock because he talked down the sheriff.
This hunt takes place in Ankeny, Iowa.
Dean wears John's jacket but not through the entire episode.
Recognizable Guest Stars in this episode: Dan Butler

for posterity (and so i can close the tab), i'm posting screenshots of the private skip/watch list i made for friends only - since i was too big of a dummy and didn't liveblog my initial tos watchthrough, to my ETERNAL FUCKING WOE, this is as close as i'm ever getting. sad! DISCLAIMER that i disagree with my past self on some of the skip/watch verdicts so please use the official spreadsheet (still a wip) as a guide if you're looking for that kind of thing.
of note from this first screencap: dagger of the mind, which i continue to feel normal about for no particular reason and definitely not relating to a movie with a brainwashing chair that came out in 2014. the corbomite manuever, which i dismissed at first and then came around to liking better later because of the little character moments. conscience of the king, which was actually the first trek episode i ever watched before i went back and did them all in official order (mistake, production order is better) and which of course got me into this mess. squire of gothos, which has this scene that inspired this fanfic. don't text.
it's also worth mentioning that i had to watch not one not two but THREE bad to mid episodes before i hit naked time and enemy within and then they put me right back in it with mudd's women. if i hadn't already seen conscience of the king and knew what was up i would have fucking quit. and that's why production order is superior
of note for this batch: the city on the edge of forever, in which a lot of important stuff happened, but also spock wore a little hat. catspaw, which is the first time i had an inkling of the idea that would later spawn this powerpoint (this is what "giving john crichton" means ifykyk). mirror mirror, which i didn't get until like a week later and then went insane over. metamorphosis, which made me so frothing mad it's unreal.
of note here: the immunity syndrome, which i have rewatched 60000 times for the spones. return to tomorrow, during which my eyes were dinnerplates start to finish. by any other name, which truly had so much going on including what i know in my heart was a tarsus iv reference. bread and circuses, which did indeed make me blush when bones pushed spock against the wall and spock went "really doctor?" i still can't think about it.
of note: the enterprise incident, which again caused mental illness related to the previously linked powerpoint. the paradise syndrome, which was the only amnesia episode, the first time kirk and spock mindmelded on screen, and so utterly fucking racist that all of that stuff was absolutely ruined beyond belief; i instantly moved to a google doc and to write down my mind palace version that doesn't involve All Of That. the one-two punch of the world is hollow + the empath, which made me a bones understander. the tholian web, which made me bonkers because i love a good fake death. plato's stepchildren, sections of which i had to watch through my fingers.
finally, of note for this batch: whom gods destroy, which unexpectedly brought back the brainwashing chair and excited me so much i had to pause the episode to collect myself. that which survives, bc the looney toons sfx made me scream laugh. requiem for methuselah, which genuinely induced a november 5th-like mania i didn't think i'd ever feel again. all our yesterdays, which was the worst i'd EVER felt for a space babe. and finally, turnabout intruder, which introduced "it's better to be DEAD than to be in the body of [x]" into my own personal lexicon.
ok that's everything! we have nine episodes left of tos to go back and watch before we move onto tng, but i know in my heart that tos will always be my favorite. i'll miss you tos :(

My Adventures With Jimmy's Two Gay Dads (MAWS) Episode 6 Review
Spoiler Free Thoughts: A good course correction from the episode before with good fun, a good bit of escalation as far as the scope for what they can do for villains even if they're still tech related, FINALLY some concrete answers on plot things and just a wonderful pair of villains that I'm sad we likely won't see again, at least not anytime soon. The only thing I was just okay with really was the Lois, Clark and Jimmy stuff. None of it was bad but it was a little rushed and a little awkward at times and I don't think Lois got a moment to shine like I had been expecting/hoping. It all worked well enough though to has me excited for the next episode once again.
======
+++++
======
So this is going to be shorter than usual because my brain is hissing at me at wasting typing energy on something other than the Lindworm retelling I'm working on (if you're interested, go check out my Discord) so I can't focus as well as I normally can. Luckily, I don't actually have as much to say about this episode as usual, especially beyond what I said in my spoiler free thoughts.
This episode is just good. For resolving the previous episode it does the job fine but it is probably the clunkiest part, as if they don't want to fully resolve it or didn't want to linger on the drama for too long. It still works well though with Clark stating why Lois impresses him, Clark showing why Lois loves him (and I wish Lois got a moment like that that just let her shine as a reminder of why these two want to be together) and Jimmy shows the right reaction to the secret by giving Clark space since it's obviously sensitive to him. He also then has the right reaction of indignation when he finds out Lois was 'told' first.
Which... I would like Jimmy to stop being objectively right and that not going very far. This episode isn't too bad about it but for the past two episodes, Jimmy feels like he's doing the correct thing that the other two might learn from but that doesn't really go anywhere. The lack of them talking as much as maybe they could have would have helped it feel stronger in this episode too and I just feel like it was kind of lacking. If you're going to keep make Jimmy shine or feel just as important as the other two, can you please actually resolve that in someway during an episode?
But I do want to touch on Clark's reason for keeping the secret because I like that they DIDN'T use Spiderman's reason. A lot of people responded that part of why Supes has been hiding his secret is the threat it poses to his loved ones and friends but like... Until the last month, why would Superman, one who always sees the best in poeple, think that? No one wanted him dead, no threat could challenge him and he believes people are inherently good.
As such, the reason IS selfish. It's so he could be seen and treated as normal, even to the point of ignoring those around him. When he asked Lois "Do you really think that little of me?" I'd hoped that would get turned around on him at the end when he talked about these fears. They say they never would which works but I think it would have been more powerful to more specifically target that Clark needs to have faith in those around him.
It also made him saying the effective mission statement of Superman, that he will help humanity until the day people are accepting of all and help each other, a little rough for me. Not that it is bad for him to say but I wish his response to being told that no one would accept him for being different had been "You know, I had thought that but today I got shown that I might just be wrong about that and so long as I can believe everyone can be like the ones I love, I'm not going anywhere, especially not so long as they need my help."
Speaking of outcasts though: I LOVE Mallah and Brain. They truly do sell old married couple energy, the bit about the dishes is AMAZING, while also being mad scientists. And yet, you never fully disbelieve that they aren't honest. They genuinely want to help people and live a life of peace but, you know, mad scientists be mad scientists. They actually reminded me a lot of Lumiere and Cogsworth, especially with Mallah talking about having been alone for decades contrasting with "Ten years we've been rusting, needing so much more than dusting."
Also, good on Ivo that he seems to be recovering OKAY after the Parasite suit but man, revenge isn't what you need boy. You need therapy. Speaking of villains, my limited knowledge of Omecs (again, hope I'm getting the name right) make me look at this version and go "Some people are going to be MAD" because it does genuinely feel like just using a comic name for something that is absolutely not what it is in the comics. Maybe some version of them but definitely not the version I'm most familiar with, at least to my knowledge.
Do I mind? Not really. It gives them a neat name and they can get renamed later once their origins are fully revealed or the like but even that would reasonably feel cheap to comic fans. Again, doesn't matter that much to me but for once I would understand others being annoyed.
But in general, it's just a good episode that I think handles the aftermath of episode 5 well, continues showing how much charisma and charm the show has in its character writing but I am REALLY ready for a Jimmy focused episode already. One that is genuinely about him and not about the trio like this one was.

Crash Course in Romance (2023)
Really enjoyed this show. The writing and story felt familiar, but the actors were good enough that it still seems fresh. Could have done with 50% less obsessed crazy stalker people though.
What Worked
The leads were fun to watch both separately and together. The overall relationships were interesting and the drama does a good job of making something that should be rather dull (math class) seem exciting. Even the most detestable people in the show still had some moments of sympathy as well, which makes them seem like real people, and it also makes the show feel safer rather than super stressful.
What Didn't Work
The weird murder plot, but this was less offensive than most and they didn't allow it to take over the show.
The Performances
Jeon Do-yeon as Nam Haeng-seon. I'm not sure if it's groundbreaking to take a character that is super common in romance (the plucky young woman who just wants to take care of her family, but OMG life is terrible) and just age her up 15 years. Sadly, it kind of feels that way. In any case, this actor is great, she's apparently a big deal in K-film and I'm so glad we got to see her here.
Jung Kyung-ho as Choi Chi-yeol. He's not all that different from the character he played in Hospital Playlist (I enjoyed him in that), but his story is different enough that it still seemed interesting. Jung Kyung-ho did a great job as a lead, and I liked all the different character moments the writers put out there for him. Not all of them stuck (for example, the tragic student death that he seems to have forgotten about after five episodes), but overall it was more hits than misses.
Oh Eui-shik as Nam Jae-woo. Every time I see a character in these dramas who is on the Asperger's spectrum, I start to wonder if the writers are ticking a box or something. But as long as they make sure and put in the work to make the character feel real, then I'm okay with it. Oh Eui-shik did the work, and I was okay with it.
Lee Bong-ryun as Kim Young-joo. I enjoyed seeing her in Hometown Cha x 3 and she did a great job here (though her character is a little more one-note here). I felt her romance arc at the end was actually kind of nice.
Roh Yoon-seo as Nam Hae-yi. Really good job by a young actress who was only in her second drama. Hopefully, she'll have a long career, because she was fun to watch and the character was well done as well.
Jang Young-nam as Jang Seo-jin. The only other role I've seen her in was as kind of a bad person in IOK2NBO. She wasn't a great person here, but I had alot more sympathy for her, partly because the actor did a good job of making her relatable even during all the crazy plot stuff. I'm glad the writers left the character in a pretty good place overall.
Kim Mi-kyung as Haeng-seon's mother. I have already raved about how cool this actor is in other places. She was only in two episodes, and her character didn't even get a real name, but it was still just nice to see her on screen.
The High School Kiddos. I think they all did a good job. The writers didn't try and make them too cutesy or turn it into an afterschool special. They were fun to watch when they were on screen, and they all had good moments in the show.
The Gang of Bad Mothers With Money. I kind of enjoyed their antics, even if it felt like the writers were giving them the job of creating pointless drama at times. They were funny when they needed to be, and detestable when they needed to be, but none of them were too memorable.
The Evil Baddie Assistant Guy. Kind of a spoiler though it's not really a huge secret. I think the actor did a decent job of playing subtle with a character that slowly turns into a mustache twirling villain by the end of the series. I didn't need an interesting villain, in fact I'd rather not bother with him at all, but if you have to have a murder spree in your drama, this guy is an acceptable choice.
TL; DR:
Fun little romance / relationship drama with good casting that hit a sweet spot between familiar and fresh. Had some funny moments, and a few genuine feels but you knew going in that you'd end up with a HEA.

REVIEW
AAAHHHHHH!!! I loved this episode 😭😭. I know the tears might seem to negate that but they don't I promise xd. I loved the focus on Marjan, our queen being the awesome person she is <33. And Grace :D. Our amazing girls all around today <33. But y'all 😭😭💔. I did not deserve that with Marjan <33. Alas, agh, we'll get to that in a second xd. But first of all, I loved all of them 🥰🥰🥰. Grace's storyline was great, really interesting :D. It's always amazing to see Grace's emotional side, it's so good. And the calls, though I know those related to the storylines lol, were really good too :D. I actually really enjoyed how they tied into the main storylines, speaking of.
Anyway! Now it's time for individual bits :))
Which will pretty much include Carlos (for my little bits on how much I love him and him not being here), Paul, Grace, Marjan, and everyone else xD. Nah, I'm just kidding, I'll separate it out a bit more than that lol. But! It's time for it :)
Quick Carlos bit! He got a mention :DDD. I know he's not in every episode, and it's more likely that he's not in one than someone else, but I do still miss him lol <333. He is babey 🥰🥰 :D. And,I hope he's recovering okay :)). Also he totally would hunt Marjan down xD. And succeed pretty easily too, knowing lol. Anyway, excited to see him again :DD. I love him ❤️❤️!
Mateo, Nancy, and TK 🥰🥰. I love my babeyssss!!! We didn't see them much this episode but they were amazing when they were there :D. And honestly, they were still chilling in the scene a lot of the time :). I love my children <33. Also their goodbyes to Marjan 😭. UGH they broke me <333. Anyway, excited for when we get a Nanteo (together or separate) storyline :D. And I do love TK but he's had his share so far lol. Lastly, they were of course all wonderful at their jobs :).
Judd and Tommy! Both separate but both more involved in Grace's storyline than the other three so I'm gonna put them together since it's still relatively small sections :). I loved them supporting Grace this episode :DDD!! We know they do, obviously, but we don't see it often enough since Grace is usually so put together. It was just really nice to see :)). Also, I love them 🥰🥰🥰. Both of them were adorable with their kids this episode 😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️. Literally amazing :'). Anyway, they were also amazing at their jobs, as always :D. And we especially got to see it with Tommy helping Grace out over the phone :). And y'all their goodbyes with Marj 😭. I can't <333.
Owen! His scenes with was Marjan were super sweet 😭😭🥰🥰🥰. Catch me wondering if he sold her the bike or just gave it to her though lol. Anyway xD, even if it didn't come off the best, I'm glad he was giving some Marjan some (not even that bad) advice this episode, and supporting her :). Though let's be real he was more of a problem than she was in that meeting XD. Also, I'm a little stressed for him with all that bomb stuff in the future 😬. Or, I guess, stressed for him now about the future because of all the bomb stuff? Idk lol. Anyway, his goodbye with Marjan man 😭😭😭❤️❤️. I didn't deserve that xdd. Also, Owen was hilarious in the first few minutes xD. I mean he was in general, and they were all a part of the interview, but he was first yk? It was just funny lol. Anyway, I love him <3.
Paul :)). My boyyy 😭😭❤️🥰. Him standing up for Marjan :'DD. And also standing BY her. AGH, just, amazing <333. My besties :'))). I'm gonna miss them so much y'all 😭😭😭💔. But I'll talk about that in a second xd. Anyway, I honestly do see something happening (maybe not definitely but like as a possibility) between Paul and that lawyer lady :D. And like- the fact that she recognize him from the smile, and said he hasn't changed - hmbneozpka :'DDD. Y'all she saw him for who he was even if neither of them knew it <33. Idk I just loved that :). Anyway <3, LOVED seeing is observance skills this episode :D. It's always fun to get little hints whenever we do but this was full on and it was LOVELY!!! And of course, his goodbye with Marjan 😭😭😭😭💔❤️❤️. Y'all I literally did not deserve that <33. And of course, I love him 🥰🥰.
Grace, my girl!! She was so amazing this episode :D. First of all, her calls with Linus were so cute 🥰🥰 and she was so nice :D. And her VOICE!!! OUUGH!! Sometimes I forget how good it is :D. Anyway, she slayed <333. Also, it's cool that she's good at math! It's one of those fun little details that makes a character feel more really :D. I do wonder if it'll come back up though 👀👀. Maybe at some point in the future! Anyway, she did s well on the calls today :D. And, even though she was freaking out at first, she did amazing helping that kid's mom 🥰🥰🥰❤️. And the waiting room scene 😭😭❤️. Our girl was going through it but at least she had Tommy by her side <333. And she still was awesome, our girl can do anything :)). Also her and Judd are, as always, absurdly adorable ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰. Plus, Charlie sighting!!! Love my girl 🥰🥰. Anyway, yeah, Grace Ryder, our queen :D. I love her <333!!
Now, finally, our girl Marjan.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
MARJANNNNNNN I DID THE DESERVE THATTTT!!!!
😭😭😭😭💔💔💔 Like I know it's for the best and all and I really hope she isn't gone for good but just :'(((. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she gets drawn back in just a couple episodes from this upcoming disaster/a related one :). Anyway! We'll talk more about that in a minute. Right now, this episode. Seeing her try so hard to just make good and fix her mistake (barely a mistake) was just 😭😭😭😭💔❤️. She's genuinely just a good person who doesn't like upsetting people :'((. And those jerks decided to take advantage of the city being the city >://. Like, I get they didn't want to go to court over it, but come on!! It really is extortion. Besides that, she gave them a full detailed apology and was willing to post it online to millions of people!!! Like, at that point you just tell them "Don't push your luck." Ugh, but whatever. I'm really glad she had Paul on her side though, and the lawyer herself even :D (though she had to be impartial but I mean her personal opinion). Still, it all sucks <33. But anyway, her heartbreak throughout this whole episode 😭😭. And yet still, she stuck to her guns and was even cooler than usual :'). It's an awful situation, but luckily she is AMAZING, and I love her so much <33.
Also, those goodbyes 😭😭😭😭. I literally did not deserve that <333. That entire last scene was just 💔💔 but I am upr glad we got :'DDD ❤️❤️. We deserve it, especially if she doesn't return (permanently).
But yeah, I honestly don't think I've fully processed that she's leaving??? You're not gonna convince me until she's gone for the rest of the season besides the wedding episode xDD. I just REALLY hope it's only a break :((((. Bc I don't think I could handle it if she genuinely left xdd. Like I said, I may seem chill, but it hasn't sunk in yet, and it better not - as in it's not fully happening lol. Now the thing is, I do want her back as soon as possible, but I also want this storyline to MEAN something, you know? And it gets a little negated if she comes back in like, two episodes xd. So, idk. I'd like her to come back for some crisis maybe mid-season ish and the stick around :). And probably late mid season, not early (more like 11/12 than 8 or smth). Also, speaking of meaning, it feels almost like an insult that sometimes this small took her down. But at the same time, it shows that sometimes things just come out of the blue, and they're not fair, you know? As long as she does eventually come back (and stays back), I still enjoyed this storyline lol. Scared for the future, though <333. I love her 😭😭💔🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Overall, I really enjoyed this episode. I thought it was great, and it's been nice to see everyone again - even though I do totally love Tarlos. I loved both of the main storylines, and I thought it was cool how the calls directly related to the plots. That's what happens when you have Grace as one, lol! But yeah, the calls were greta an I enjoyed ho they intertwined :). Besides that, everyone was awesome :D. Again, the final scene was just 😭. And there were some funny bits this episode! Mostly the first few minutes, but throughout the rest too :). I also just loved all the group scenes in general, speaking of that 🥰🥰. I am very scared for the future, what with Marjan leaving, and everything with the explosion. And even though I want the storyline to have time to breathe, I'd honestly be cool if she came back next time lol. To be fair it looks like it'll be pretty dramatic xD. Also, does anyone remember seeing Marj in that shot o Owen talking to the 126? Presumably about the explosives threat. Because it would make sense now if she's not xD. Anyway, I don't know if she will, but it would be nice :'). Besides that, I just love them all :)) <33.
So yeah! I loved this episode. Great to see everyone more, even if it's sad. This has been my review of. . .

Coming Attractions!
First Monday of the month, so here we go.
As per usual, this also means an open question night--my askbox is always open, but I'll be actively keeping an eye on it tonight. I do take prompts, but am not necessarily fast in filling them. Any fandom I've posted about here or on AO3 is fair game, as is any of my original stuff.
Short one this month, because I didn't get much done last month, whoops...a big work project took up more brainmeats than I expected it would, ah well.
Mostly moved, mostly everything is sorted; a few things I still need to finish organizing/putting away/etc. But that should also free up some brainspace hopefully!
Anyway. Actual updates.
Star Wars:
Pretty much the same as last week--need to catch up on OTP meme fills; poking back at my original plan for last year's SWBB so I can use it for this year. Not a lot of progress, but hopefully this month will be better!
BSG:
Big Bang matches have gone out! I'm excited to see how everything turns out. And hopefully get actually back into writing the many plotlines that are floating around in my head, lol...particularly The Other Battlestar which still needs an Official title and has been waiting to come out of my head and get Shared for like. over a year. even discounting the like 8-10 year gap when I wandered away from the fandom...
I should be picking up my rewatch soon, too! I have the back half of season 3, plus season 4, and maybe the webisodes (I have access to Face of the Enemy but not Resistance, so we'll see if I actually watch those). Which does mean we're coming up on my absolute least favorite episode in the entire series, haha. I haven't even gotten to it yet and I'm already mad about it (and have found an Additional Reason to be mad about it that I hadn't had before! Yay!) But also after that I get Lampkin, who I love, and while season 4 is a mess in terms of cohesion/continuity it has some of my very favorite episodes in the entire series, So.
Castlevania:
I haven't actually sat down and watched Nocturne yet (mostly because of the aforementioned work stuff), so I haven't quite fallen back into this fandom yet. I do want to get back to Incinctus, and I had one other plot thread idea for another fic based on the first series (essentially, shifting Alucard's S3 timeline by six weeks so the night Sumi and Taka plan to attack him is the same night Greta's messenger gets there, and then see where things go from there).
It's kind of interesting--I have approximately zero knowledge of the games, apart from a few bits and pieces I've picked up from reading fics and/or hanging out on a discord server. Which, of course, has been talking a lot about Nocturne...but almost entirely in the context of how it relates to the game characters/plotlines it's drawing from. Which means I'm both...more and less hyped for it? I don't know, I'm not sure how to word how it's impacted my interest/excitement/etc. for the followup series, because a lot of the comments about certain characters/choices completely fly over my head but they Dominate the server and I'm like "...okay?"
Anyway, we'll see how I feel about it when I watch the series. And if I do end up building a VC crossover in my head (because like. armand and the theatre are right there and while I was able to confine myself to a quick Easter Egg reference in Incinctus...lol.)
Les Mis:
The next chapter of P&J is coming, I swear. Also planning to debut Acheron this month because...I mean I know it's technically a Groundhog Day AU set in June, but it feels appropriate to start posting it around Halloween? IDK XD
Original Fic:
Again I do need to catch up on OTP memes. I do like the one piece I put out this month, which was about the Horsemen in Lux. They're a Delight and I love them.
...yeah, that's about it. Like I said, short post this month because I didn't get much actual writing done last month. Hopefully October will be better for me (if nothing else, hopefully I actually will catch up on all the backlogged OTP Meme fills, lol...)

I only explained a RED HERRING. It's not like I wasn't convinced before by you that Kyoya seemed to be unaffected. However the entire episode of Lion vs Eagle specifically drives the point that both Tsubasa and Kyoya were on equal footing and their battle was less about who was more skilled but who was more determined to win, which seems contradictory once you remember Tsubasa absolutely wanted to win more even before tapping into the dark power while Kyoya just wanted to show-off to his boyfriend rival number 1.
But it does make sense when you remember that Tsubasa's desire for results meant he didn't put all of his passion into the battle and played it safe with tactics and skills he knew normally should succeed, but said skills only work when it's just the battle of experience and not a battle of passion. Kyoya just more passion regarding Beyblade, hence he had more determination to succeed because that's what Beyblade is about, passion. Tsubasa lacked it so he couldn't win and the dark power "briefly" gave him "passion" for a moment to get a second wind, but it was still fake and not Tsubasa's genuine desire but merely acting out on darkness.
Plus Tsubasa is here being observant and Tsubasa does want to deal with his issues, he just doesn't know how, since he's not a people person nor used to having friends, his instinct is not to confess his issues to others and dealing with stuff on his own. He tried to understand what was going on with him, but he was clueless. And he related to Kyoya but didn't necessarily project (though it did kind of end up being as such). And mind you, the audience is clueless about Tsubasa's "deal" (I mean when you don't pay attention to the obvious foreshadowing or just not acknowledge such possibility because how the fuck did this happen and it's only when we learn in Creeping Darkness how exactly it happened) and so far, only Tsubasa seems to have the best idea on what his darkness is so people are looking for answers within Tsubasa, they don't necessarily expect him to be wrong (even though his battle with Yu foreshadowed how he would defeat the darkness and was a great opportunity of teaching Tsubasa said lesson, but Tsubasa instead took it the wrong way and doubled down on repressing his feelings instead of letting them go; this is Tsubasa failure but we as the audience are so not used to it it doesn't register to us either and we also don't conclude that Tsubsa should express more and that he should calm down when attempting to do so is the problem in the first place).
The problem is Kyoya's attitude, not intentions. That's what is throwing people off. While you're not wrong about Kyoya's intention and responses, his attitude just doesn't match the energy and excitement he has (which is also the reason why miscommunication happens between him and Gingka). Kyoya is certainly a positive character upon closer inspection, but people within the show also struggle to see this up close (though they can see it EVENTUALLY) and the audience struggles to see it right away it takes good analysts like you to catch on to such stuff. Kyoya's theatre kid energy is just too powerful for people to even register it, he's so much in character that he put on himself that people legit get confused. And said act and Kyoya being more overdramatic and harsh just grew (like you point out how Kyoya became more dramatic as the series went by and people are asking "why").
Once again I'm explaining why people come to such conclusions, not that they are right. The series never pointed out that indeed it was just Kyoya being exhausted after the travel with Gingka's gang because Gingka's gang never talks about how much they exhaust each other more seriously and how sometimes people who are not used to such environments like Tsubasa or Kyoya need to take a break, so, of course, no one thinks about it because we as the audience followed the gang constantly especially when they're together, so we're used to them, so it doesn't cross us that Kyoya, in fact, is NOT.
Kyouya, the Dark Power and character's development
Some says that Kyoya regresses a lot between Fusion and Masters (and accuse the Dark Power of it) but I disagree.
In Fusion, he’s being drawn in the whole fight against the Dark Nebula, and things went fast : he came to his senses after the Wolf Canyon, learnt of the Forbidden Bey’s existence (you know ? Kyouya Tategami, who didn’t believe in magic and thought it was nonsense until they went to the Dark Nebula Castle), then he went looking for Ginga.
Kyouya isn’t used to be around people who aren’t his lackeys. You can see it when he first travels with Benkei, Kenta and Madoka. He seemed out of place, not really knowing how to react. He let Benkei (after the Wolf Canyon) and Ginga (at Koma) take him into their arms. Some days later he decided he needed something called “personal space” and pushed away people when they are too near to him (like he did with Benkei).
After this, the Battle Bladers was announced. The whole group did their best to qualify and the Battle Bladers began. Kyouya had no time to think about the way he wanted to act with others. Between Fusion and Masters, he had (too much maybe) time to think and plan how he wants to behave with others and, especially, how he wants to behave as Ginga’s rival.
In season 1, he was so angry to have lost against he teamed up with the Dark Nebula (he kind of promise it, but nonetheless…). Then he came back with his worst behaviour ever (poor little town guy who didn’t imagine being in the wilderness was so hard xD). In next seasons, he only went away when he’s pissed off. It’s a great improvement !
Two other examples of improvement : - In season 1, he blames his Face Hunter after he lose against Ginga but, in season 2, he acknowledges the Wild Fang lose because of him, after Nile blamed himself (what he could have easily used). - In season 2, he refuses to be part of the Japanese Team, but in season 3, he decides to travel with the group, while no one asked him yet (it doesn’t end perfectly, but it was a good start).
Kyouya’s wish to defeat Ginga isn’t caused by the Dark Power. It was present since he met him in the first season : their first battle, the Wolf Canyon, his “rivalry” with Hyouma, the Battle Bladers (in particular the semi-final where he spent his time saying he would defeat Ginga, didn’t care about Ryuuga and that Ginga want to fight with him).
Kyouya wasn’t affected by the Dark Power. He had no aura, no flashback of his duel with Ryuuga, no traumatized look that characterized Tsubasa and Hikaru when they suffered the Dark Power. It didn’t do anything to him. His worst (and only) breakdown (or outburst) was at the very begining of the series, after the Wolf Canyon, long before he knew Ryuuga and the Dark Power existed.
About his obsession of Ginga… Ginga is the very first one who have won over him. Kyouya is (slightly ?) a bad loser. To refuse to become a part of the japanese team is completely in his course of action. He wanted to defeat Ginga and, if he teamed up with him, he couldn’t. So he had searched another way to take part in the World Championship BEFORE he started the selections. When he talked with Ginga after defeating Tsubasa, he told him so with hints and half-words.
So the Dark Power has exactly no effet on Kyouya (and his behavior evolved).

My thoughts on Seabound!!! 🌊🌊🌊 (1/4)
SPOILERS ALERT!!!
Finally Nya's season! Our queen, our water goddess, our amazing girl gets what she deserves! 😍😍😍
What I know about the season beforehand is that Nya's powers apparently are getting problematic for some reasons? Which is a pretty common topic in other shows but it's a first in Ninjago, usually the elemental powers don't have focus and I LOVE that we now get to see stuff like that 💕💕💕
I know there should be Wojira involved, trusting The Island to deliver that little foreshadowing at the end of the episode 🤷♀️ Also Maya is back... MAYA IS FINALLY BACK AFTER SEVEN SEASONS YES!!! 😭😭😭
I have nothing else to say, I have no idea what this will bring, hopefully something as good as Master of the Mountain! 🖤
Alright, here we go!
GENERAL THOUGHTS
Warning reader, I might be fangirling to an extreme because I love mah girl Nya and I've been wanting Kai and Nya's parents to be back ever since Hands of Time ended. So yeah... screaming alert 😅
At this point I don't doubt that the intro is great, we reached such a level of animation and we got The Fold 😍😍 Love the marine vibe and how it's similar to The Island, because it's a great intro 👌
NOW I like the writing! Maybe they rushed the dialogue's quality for The Island to get here? It's just fun and in character, maybe it's just me but I'm enjoying it a lot for now
How many episodes are in this? Wiki says ten, then I checked again and it's sixteen like with Master of Mountain... eh, it looks good so far so it's fine whatever happens 🤷♀️
A BIG SPLASH
Oohhh, new villain! One that uses... flames... huh, does she know there's literally a master of fire in the ninja team? Eh whatever she looks cute, give it up for Miss Demeanor!! 👏👏
Wait... OMG IS THAT ERIN MATTHEWS??? WE GOT MACY!! ❤❤❤
Whoa, we're finding out where did the order of the vengestone from season 13 come from?? YAS! CONTINUITY!
Yep, there it is, Nya lost control... her attacks look so cool 😍
Lol that kid trying to be a nindroid and Zane being offended 😂😂 Sorry hun, you're that popular
Aaahhh, thank you Ninjago! You gave me back Nya the perfectionist 😂 I was worried her reaction to her powers wasn't going to be in character but it looks fair so far. Brings me back to Possession, my favorite season 💙💙💙
WE GOT BACK THE FACT THAT SHE CAN MAKE IT RAIN!!! YAS!!! I might be easy to please but I love these details 🤩
🤯🤯🤯 Okay they are definitely going somewhere this time and I LOVE IT, because wow. WOW. Are we actually addressing the forever questioned fact that wind and water weren't elements that Chen needed at the Tournament? Are we giving a reason for them to exist outside the main set of elements and the elemental masters?? Duuuude, season 15 don't let me stop you, keep going 😍
Mm, so water and wind are connected to Wojira (now I see the connection with the special). Are we setting the ground for a new master of wind? 😏😏 It's risky going for a Morro replacement but it's a super intriguing idea! Oooor Edgy Boy TM might come back? WHO KNOWS I'M CURIOUS ANYWAY 🤩
Love how it is universal knowledge that Nya is super indipendent 👌
YES YES FINALLY WE'RE TALKING ABOUT MAYA!!! 😍😍😍 Is it too much hoping into a Ray cameo as well?? Pleaaaase? Also addressing Krux after so many seasons, this feels exciting!! 😊
This is what I'm talking about, training, fighting scenes, show me everything that water goddess can do! 🌊🌊🌊
Aaahhh, Nya flexing her mightiness through anger, just to remind us that she is the descendant of a water master as much as of a fire master 😅
YES YES YES YES IT'S HAPPENING FINALLY AFTER SEVEN SEASON THE FIRE WATER PARENTS ARE FINALLY BACK!!! 🔥🌊🔥🌊🔥🌊 I'M SO HAPPY I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG!!! 😭
RAY IS THERE TOO HECK YES!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I shouldn't get this excited at only the first episode... WHO CARES RAY IS BAAAAACK!!! ❤❤❤
Omg Maya is definitely different from what I expected, turns out Kai's enthusiasm came from her 😂
Oh look at my flame babe 😍
He's so happy his parents are here, he's a total family man ❤❤❤
Nya is maaaaad... 😅
THERE SHE IS
WELCOME BACK JILLIAN I MISSED YOU 💚💚💚 Would it be too much having a "Your voice sounds familiar" moment with Maya and Lloyd? 😂
I'm so stoked for this! I want all the interactions I've missed for all of this time, asap!! HECK yes!! 😍😍😍😍
Oh, are we looking over the Miss Demeanor, vengestone situation? Mm... for now at least... WHO CARES FIRE WATER PARENTS!! 🔥🌊🔥🌊🔥🌊
THE CALL OF THE DEEP
Imma just slow clap for The Fold because this is another amazing intro, one of those things in this show that stays awesome no matter what happens 👍👍
So Maya gave Nya her discipline and perfectionism, but not the passion behind it 😂 I like this, it's not your conventional master of water, although I'd say it's different from the impression she gave me back in HoT. Maybe this is how she is when she's not trapped for fifty years? 😅😅
Is it too much asking for Kai and Ray bonding while the water women get the work done? 😅😅
Is this the sequel of Green Eggs and Ham?
Green Pancakes and Ham? 😂
Oh it's seaweed nevermind... at breakfast? I'm all for sushi rolls but this is a little 😅 Although since Maya missed their childhood she probably never cooked meals for them... how did I get myself sad 😢
Whoa, Maya is a strict teacher! I got flashbacks from my first and only dance lesson, teachers nitpicking every single pose, uuurrrggg I feel ya waterlily 😡
Again, not a fan of Misako, but coming from her the whole speech about wanting to be there for her child makes a lot of sense
Yes. YES.
YEEEEESSSS KAI AND RAY FAMILY BONDING THIS IS EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED I'M GETTING ALL OF MY WISHES GRANTED FOR THIS ONE ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤
AND MY FLAME BABE IS SO GLAD HE GOT HIS PARENTS!!! 😭😭😭
Lol with Kai's new hair they look even more related 🤣
Ray also sounds so happy he gets to have his moment with his son 😢 I feel so blessed in this moment 👍
Also this scene makes a lot of sense. Nya grew up to be indipendent, one that succeed in most of stuff without problems, she built her life without any help and doesn't look for it. Kai grew up more insecure, he got some walls up but loves to take care of others and be taken care of. With a childhood lost he looks forward to a bit of softness ❤❤
Did Maya make real bacon for that sandwich? Do I smell some favoritism? 😅 Or maybe she really wants Nya to get onto the water mind setting idk 🤷♀️
Little tiny complain, why isn't Jay doing the fixing? Did he give up mechanics completely? It feels like we haven't seen him do tech stuff in so long, I miss techy boy in action 😞
And no, having to check on the bathroom doesn't count 😅
Aww robot date 💜🤍💜🤍
AAAHH ROBOT DISASTER 😱😱😱 ZANE DANG IT YOU WERE DOING SO GOOD NOT TRYING TO DIE IN THE LAST TWO SEASONS!!
Oh that was weird, weird magic purple wave thingie?
I DID NOT ASK FOR A SEASON WITH A BEST GIRL AT THE EXPENCE OF ANOTHER BEST GIRL PIX DON'T YOU DARE DO THIS TO ME 😱😱😱😱😱
"Well this is troubling." I love this samurai so freaking much 💜💜💜
GUYS THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND EPISODE, I'M A LITTLE SCARED NOW 😢
Okay Nya admitting that something's wrong looking so apologetic, girl you don't need to do that you already own my heart 😭
Alright, I'm guessing this is Wojira's power or something, and they will have to go down below and find out why... just throwing this in, maybe Maya did something? Because she wanted to finally be with her family and needed an excuse? JUST A THEORY WITH NO BASE I REALLY HOPE I'M WRONG!!!
Okay, two episodes and I'm BEYOND engaged, let's keep it up! 😍
UNSINKABLE
Getting an idea how this episode might end already 😂😂
Look, I love best girl Pixal, but I'm kinda sad that she seems to be the only one tinkering at this point. Like, I saw Nya fix little stuff, while Jay dropped engineering altogether, I miss my engineers team 😭
Aww, the guys didn't want to crush Pixal's dream of an unsinkable boat 💜 But honestly yeah, I agree with Cole, this might end badly 😅😅
Thank goodness
I was worried they forgot about Jaya ❤💙❤💙 Jay is such a cutie omg
Nya: Mm, going on a potentially dangerous mission with unstable powers in the heart of my element or... mom's tofu pancakes... *yeets herself over the ship*
I'm making too many screenshots of the Smith family... WHO CARES THEY ARE BACK AND THEY ALL LOOK SO GOOD!!! 😍😍😍😍
Aww Ray wants to play with his son and his friends so CUTE ❤❤❤ Still can't believe they play Prime Empire after everything that went down 😂😂
Whoa whoa whoa, Kai and Cole are sitting this one out? That's actually interesting, I'm pretty sure I saw Cole's scuba suit in the sets though so I didn't expect it... lol it's actually kinda fair that the two that used to be afraid of water aren't going 😂😂
Bet Kai is happy to stay behind because he gets to spend time with his dad 😭
Also studying the fire elementals?? Uhm, yes please?? TELL ME EVERYTHING ABOUT MY FLAME BABE!!! 😍😍😍😍
I'm sure this one scene...
... made so many lavashippers happy ❤🖤❤🖤 Cole you got Ray's blessing
Ninja team acting cool while Jay is being Jay, it's how it always goes, it's the entire show's description and I absolutely love it 😂 That wink though 💙
PIRATE ZANE IS BACK 😂😂😂 Haven't seen him since Possession, and this time he's not even malfunctioning 👌 Pixal is so done with his dorky boyfriend 😝
Of course Jay already has a ghost butler theory going on 😂
OF COURSE IT'S MAYA 😂😂
To be honest muffins would sold me too 😅 Not sure if she will make them out of tofu again though...
It's actually really interesting that we still haven't met the actual enemies, it does build up excitment! Very curious about these squid guys 👍
Well what do you know, the Unsinkable sank. Who would have thought?
... yeah same, sorry Pix 😅
FIVE THOUSANDS FATHOMS DOWN
Aaaahhh, Nya fixing stuff! That's more like it!! 😍😍
Oww, that one speech, I've been waiting for so long for that! Maya just wants to catch up with her daughter and it's not her fault she was separated from her children, but Nya did everything on her own with Kai. Only fair she isn't seeking for her help right now... still sad 😢
Pff, with this ninja team there's not a moment of privacy 😂😂
Maya cleaning his future son-in-law's laundry what the HECK 😂😂😂 To be fair Jay has a bit of a history of having to change underwears during sea travels 😝
Zane was attached to a battery? When?... are you talking about that one scene in Prime Empire? Cause that's not really a flashback I wanna ha- whoops never mind got the flashback 😱
Maya looks more calm now, I think she's trying to act more reasonable and she's got good points 👍 I know people were a little weirded out by how more cheerful she looks in comparison to Hands of Time, but I think she gets the most serious and rational when time needs. Sk8 episode 7 (Reki & Langa)
So again I would like to apologise for posting this up a bit late but it's so worth talking about. I won't really mention tricks since there was hardly any. This episode hurt y'all for many reasons.
Spoilers for episode 7
.
.
I love the way the this episode started. There's the chemistry we see with Langa and Rekiz; the admiration, the friendship and the wholehearted vibes we get from these two. If it's anything I can say is that, despite everything else, this episode made me realize that yes, I'm watching an anime. And although that may sound strange, it's because this show has done an excellent job at keeping these characters real and extremely relatable.
By the way, Langa is waxing the bottom of his deck so he can grind on rails and stuff. Street skaters also apply wax to ledges and rails to grind on them so their boards don't skid or get caught on something that can potentially cause injury. Just so it's smoother going down.
You knew something was gonna happen when the episode started with the opening rather than giving us a little something something on what the episode would be about. There's a lot to unpack.
Reki and Langa have a great friendship. They have common interests and they have a basic understanding of one another but they lack core communication and this episode proves it. For one, I was really heartbroken when I heard that people acknowledged Langa but not Reki. Who did they think introduced Langa to the S course?? That was extremely rude and to have him hear that they actually disregarded him really did a number on me.
I would want to mention that from this point forward I'll be splitting this into two sections.
I'll start with Reki.
To start off, I knew this would happen at some point with Reki. From the minute Langa went up against ADAM, I knew Reki would feel left out or that he would think he's not worth it which is totally not the case. Reki doesn't know his worth and while it may have taken him longer to grasp the basics and so on and so forth of Skateboarding, that doesn't make him a horrible skater.
I think Kaoru kind of said it perfectly but maybe didn't word it properly which just added more to the turmoil Reki feels. The fact that Langa has been snowboarding for a long time, not to mention had a good teacher who I assume was his father; his body had developed. It's much easier to get used to Skateboarding after snowboarding. The reason for that is that with snowboarding, your feet are actually in binds hence why Langa taped his feet onto the deck. With Skateboarding, you can easily jump off. There's mobility and there's more freedom. Though because of this, tricks are harder but it's faster to get used to. So of course Langa picked up relatively fast.
A good example of this in real life would be Shaun White. He's a pro snowboarder who went to win, I'm not sure if several, gold medals in the X Games in Skateboarding. AND in Vert. I mentioned this before that at some point in time we'd see Langa doing vert and lo and behold he did. Shaun White also did vert. It's not that Reki is bad, Skateboarding is difficult and some people pick it up faster than others and that's where I think Kaoru might have messed up because he explained Langa's skill too technical which Reki took that into account. What didn't help were those guys who mentioned he was a loser.
THEY SHOULD TRY MAKING A BOARD TO FIT SOMEONE LIKE LANGA
...
ANYWAY. Reki is great at what he does. He's innovative and the support that is needed to keep the group going. If it wasn't for him, Miya wouldn't be there with them. He's the glue to the whole group. Reki, despite his issue still cares about Langa and holds nothing against him. In fact, he takes the burden without pointing blame which really proves this boys character. I do understand where Reki is coming from and I wish he would've tried to kind of explain it to Langa at least or what's worse, Langa explain why he wants to go up against ADAM. Which brings us to our next boy.
I do want to point out that Langa isn't an adrenaline junkie. From what I've gathered and based off my opinion, I think after his father passed away, he never touched his snowboard. Meaning all those years of training, all of those years of practicing and snowboarding (these things become apart of you when you're doing it on a daily basis) he threw it away. So I believe what we see both when he goes against ADAM and when he's going through this moment is him trying to get that exhilaration back.
After idk how many months or years of not snowboarding, he probably decided never to do it again but then met Reki, he became interested in Skateboarding and he realized that he can gain something from it. I believe in this case, if I'm right, ADAM will be the one to awaken his true skills in this sense and get him back to where he was if not further.
Langa is a professional or at least, can be as stated by Miya, Kaoru, Joe... He has the ability to push himself. He has the ability to be to grow from a challenging situation. What happened with ADAM was exciting to him because he's being challenged, he's being pushed to think outside the box. That's why he finds those who are good, regardless of the situation, amazing.
I loved this episode so much lol
Reki doesn't understand that because he doesn't know what that's like and Langa doesn't know how to explain it because it's a feeling he himself doesn't understand. It's hard to put into words. They're both not communicating with each other well and can't figure out how. Watching Reki try to do a wallride was hard to witness. There's so much in there that he can't really understand about Langa.
Not to backtrack, but the reason why Langa can go high is because the boy is used to it. You get a lot of air snowboarding and in Skateboarding that's not really necessary but in snowboarding it is. Langa is also tall, his board is longer and if you want to count his arm span, Langa can reach it no problem.
These boys need a hard sit down. Reki, sweetie, you're not talentless and Langa it's okay to talk about it. Please y'all making everyone HURT.
WHEW
I'll probably make another post because ADAM...I haven't forgotten about you. You make me upset!

Review #4: Coffee Prince
WARNING: THIS POST DEF CONTAINS SPOILERS. PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE DRAMA. (I will do my best to label spoilers, but I’m not perfect.)
This drama, straight from 2007, is definitely reminiscent of Boys Over Flowers. Which makes sense since they're from the same era of dramas.
Welcome to THE THIRST CORNER!!!! This is my fourth review and I've realized that I thirst over characters around this time so I'm making a thing.
OUR MALE LEAD. THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. GONG YOO!!!! (AND YOUNG GONG YOO?? Like, he's so fine in Goblin, but 2009 GY just hits diff.)
Look, I will never complain about some good ol' fan service. They know their audience. But this isn't about the GIF. Anyway.
It was so exciting to see him play a young/immature character. Like, there are flashes of it in Goblin, but it was kinda cute to see him play a flirty playboy who runs around with daddy's money?? Obviously, he has character development, but I just really found myself simping for him most of the time idk.
OH YOU THOUGHT THAT WAS IT? NAH SON. THERES ONE MORE. MAY I PRESENT NOH SUN-KI (played by Kim Jae-Wook)!!!!
LIKE??? Every single time this beautiful man with his long hair in a cute lil ponytail and black painted nails came onto the screen all I could think was that one tiktok audio that's like "CMON FUCK ME EMO BOY". I was down so bad for him the entire time. Like, if he bossed me around I would simply be like "yes sir" and not even mind it.
I had also just watched Her Private Life (where he plays the male lead) before so when I realized who he was I was like-
So, safe to say I was also in love with him. His character has such an intriguing sub plot that I wasn't reaching for my phone when his backstory would come on. Unlike some people... We'll get there.
The plot, overall, was fine. I mean, it just felt like it was longer than it needed to be? It could have easily been 12 episodes instead of 17. I had to stop watching for a while because it was just random drama (not the good kind imo) every five minutes.
Let's talk about the female lead. Honestly, I think it was in fact shitty of her to keep it a secret for so long that she was in fact a woman. Like, she had SO MANY opportunities and her excuses just weren't justified enough. The amount of times I found myself having to pause the show in frustration because of her was way too many. I get it- she was in conflict about it. I would be too. But there's no way you could see exactly where that ends up? She also just seemed dopey and naive, especially when she was supposed to be the breadwinner for her family and apparently so much more mature. Other than wanting to work hard and stand on her own, I didn't find her very relatable. Definitely not my favorite of all the female leads.
The only supporting cast that I found myself really loving was the boys at the coffee shop. They were so kind and (for the most part) super cool with the fact that Chan was a girl. Han Sung and Yoo Joo, however, were the most annoying. Towards the end of the show, I was so desperate to finish it that I skipped their sub-plot scenes. Terrible of me? Maybe. But I just wasn't into it. Their sub plot seemed to never make its way back to the main plot once Chan made it clear she wasn't into Han Sung.
I'm noticing that quite a few dramas have awkward age gaps. Like, yes, Chan isn't in high school so it isn't THAT weird, but she seems so young in comparison to Han Kyul and the whole crew. This in mind(SPOILER) , her refusing to get married for four more years is (of course) a big deal for someone who's literally 30. Like, yes, the relationship didn't start with marriage in mind, but had that thought never occurred to her? She hardly ever took Han Kyul into account when making these decisions herself, which is a big relationship no no?
I've never watched a drama that made me say "uh, what the fuck?" out loud so many times. Like, they show a little kids whole naked butt cheeks like its nothing? No blurring or anything? Also (spoiler I guess?) Yoo Joo and Han Sung did some weird couple-y stuff that made me never want to date. The finger boots thing? Is that a normal couple thing? They were just weird- maybe they were trying to make a point in showing that after 10 years they're comfy together?
Now, you may be thinking "Wow, this person hated this drama". No, that's not entirely true. There was a lot of beautiful moments in the coffee shop. And (SPOILER) watching Han Kyul grow from a playboy into someone who takes his life seriously was really cool to watch. I think my main problem is the amount of hype this drama has? People saying this is their comfort drama? Not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but I just don't see it. While this drama was okay, I will probably not willingly watch it again.
In regards to the OST, there wasn't any music that I thought "Gotta have this on my playlist!!". I don't even remember much of the music, tbh. It didn't impact me the way Stand By Me (and a good chunk of the OST from Boys Over Flowers) did.
Rating for the drama: 6.5/10
Reminder that these are simply my opinions. If this is your favorite drama, I don’t mean to offend you. Feel free to put what you loved/didn’t love in the comments. Just be kind and remember that everyone like different dramas. Also please be nice to me, I am but a normal person. :)

Three days ago, I decided to start watching one of the Chinese dramas that had been sitting on my Netflix to-watch list for as long as I use it: 'A Love So Beautiful'.
I was (am) really excited over the Korean version because the FL is So Joo Yeon, whom I love since I watched 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2' last year―she's adorable!
However, I knew that the Korean version was a remake, so I figured I should start with the Chinese one first. Besides, a few years ago one of my ex-friends told me I should watch it, and she has a pretty good taste in dramas... So, well―I succumbed. And, oh my! I'm so glad I did!
· · ·
'A Love So Beautiful' is a coming of age drama, which depicts the lives of five friends as from the moment they meet in high school up to adulthood, and how they learn about love, friendship and life in general. It especially revolves around Chen Xiaoxi (Shen Yue, from 'Meteor Garden') and Jiang Chen (Hu Yi Tian, from 'Unrequited Love').
· · ·
♡ PLOT & EPISODES:
It is a really light-hearted drama, and its plot is uncomplicated. It is ideal for when you are in the mood for something that doesn't have twists and turns, and/or whose plot doesn't require a great effort to follow. If you feel like watching a drama like that, then I really recommend you to start this one.
Although it's made up of 23 episodes (and one special episode), they are approximately 40-minutes long each. Therefore, I didn't feel that they were tiresome to watch. Also, as a person who gets distracted quite easily ―I have the attention span of a goldfish―, I must emphasise that I didnt pause it at all―except, maybe, to go and grab some snacks... And to post that screenshot with a reference to Argentina, lol.
· · ·
♡ CHARACTERS:
Xiaoxi (FL): This character is a well-known one in dramaland―the typical female lead who is really (and when I say really, I mean extremely, blindly) in love with the male lead, no matter his actions or the words that leave his mouth.
I normally find this type of character annoying (yes, I'm looking at you, Nao). I find it painful to watch that she keeps resiliently following the male lead, even when he is continuously humilliating her. Of course, if you keep in mind that she is a teenager, then you may be able to understand the way she behaves―we were all a little bit like that during our younger years... Or, at least, I know I was. However, that's hard to remember when the story depicts her to be neither a teenager nor an adult, although she is supposed to be the former. By this I don't mean that teenagers can't go through situations that may force them to 'grow up' quickly, but stuff like 'living alone with my classmate' is not a normal situation for a teen (especially, with their parents consent ¿¿¿¿¿)―that's more adult-ish.
Anyways, back to Xiaoxi.
When I think about my younger self, I think she might ―in some points― relate to Xiaoxi. Why? That's simple―because she truly acts like a teenager. For her, the problems she faces are like the end of the world, and deals with them as (most) young people would.
Amongst those problems, love is obviously included. She's devoted to the love she feels, and doesn't waver. She's always true to her feelings and to her heart―sometimes, a little too much for my liking. However, her genuiness and stubborness are two of the traits I liked the most about her.
But Xiaoxi is not entirely naïve―not all the time, at least. She stood her ground in some parts of the story, as a teenager and, mostly, as an adult. I must admit that one kick was amazing―I was lying in bed and I literally had to sit up and scream 'APLICADÍSIMA' (an Argentinian slang that, in this context, could be translated as 'nicely done').
▫ ▫ ▫
Jiang Chen (ML): Yet another typical character in dramas. He's one of those guys who barely speaks, looks serious 24/7 and, the most important thing, has feelings but is unable to show them most of the time.
I'm not going to deny that people like that do exist in real life (now that I think about it, I may be like that irl, lol), but the real problem is how they are portrayed in dramas. I mean, the fact that a person gathers all those characteristics within them does not equal to being an a*shole (again, I'm so looking at you, Uehara).
Jian Chen sometimes acts like an a*shole, I'm not going to deny that. He mostly acts like that out of jealousy, which doesn't make it right. However, he's continuously growing out of that behaviour (maybe not so much out of jealousy 🙃), and that's what I liked about this character. Even if his character doesn't entirely lose his true essence (being serious is not a bad trait per se, just to name something), it was refreshing to see that, when he's with her, he wouldn't act like he doesn't care about her at all.
▫ ▫ ▫
Wu Bosong (SML): Oh, dear. He's the sweetest. For real.
I'm not the kind of person who usually falls for the second male lead (for example, in Heirs I was always team Kim Tan, although everyone loved Young Do and shipped Eun Sang with him). However, this time, I found myself falling for Bosong really, really hard.
His character is yet another cliché―the sweet boy who's always helping the FL and has to be content with watching her from the sidelines. However, his kind and tender nature slowly captured my heart.
*spoiler alert* It broke my soul that the story was unfair to him―he deserved way better. Not only romantically speaking―all the scenes where his grandma doesn't recognise him were so, so heartbreaking. I know life isn't fair, but it is a drama! Don't make the poor boy suffer that much 😭.
However, even though I loved this character a lot, I ―by no means― shipped him and Xiaoxi. He deserved someone who would give him their entire heart―and, let's face it, Xiaoxi would never grow out of her love for Jian Chen. *end of spoiler alert*
· · ·
♡ FRIENDSHIP:
As far as I'm concerned, most people are only interested in the romantic side of dramas ―which is fine, of course―, but I'm adding this item because it was seriously one of the things I enjoyed the most about this drama.
The chemistry between the five of them is awesome. Sometimes, it's not just about how nicely the leads are to each other―I think that portraying a great friendship is equally important. After all, life is not just about romantic love―it's about all the other kinds of love, as well.
It was sweet that they not only grew up together, but also that they stayed friends even if they had other things going on in their lives. They were unconditional to each other, but that didn't just stayed in high school―it followed them to their adult lives. They still tried to find the time to meet, even if they were busy (*spoiler alert* Xiaoxi's fansigning! *end of spoiler alert*), and supported and had each other's back no matter what.
I liked how friendship was one of the main topics in the drama.
· · ·
♡ SUMMARY:
If you're looking for a cute and light coming-of-age drama (and you don't mind a school drama―i.e., dealing with the fact that they are teenagers during most of it), then A Love So Beautiful is the one for you.
Also, if you haven't ever seen a Chinese drama (and you're up to a drama with the characteristics abovementioned), then I recommend you start with this one. It's not boring, chapters are relatively short (40-minutes-long episodes are considerably shorter than Korean drama's one-hour ones).
The acting was great (again, bear in mind that the characters are teenagers!), the chemistry between the leads was good, and, if you're like me, you'll enjoy the chemistry between the entire group (*spoiler alert* although Bosong and Jian Cheng are ready to throw hands at each other like 99% of the time *end of spoiler alert*).
If you have some time, I highly recommend you to watch it!
I'm leaving the trailer here, if you want to check it out:
youtube
A Love So Beautiful is available on NETFLIX, VIKI and YOUTUBE!
· · ·
I hope you liked this 'review'. I wanted to write one since I finished the drama, but I have been busy studying for my finals.
Sending lots of love during these weird times ♡

Huey and D'jinn possible parallels
As we know, Huey is the center of this season and even if he wasn't present in all the episodes, the ones in which he appears are excelent and contribute for some character development. I bet we are going to see paralels between him and other characters. Dewey has Della, Jormungandr in the neutral side and Don Karnage in the villain side, Louie has Goldie and Gladstone. Huey has Fenton, maybe Gyro, Donald and definetly Fethry Duck, Boyd and Violet Sabrewing. But what if he had parallels with someone who isn't science-related? Someone who has more common grounds in terms of liking history other than Violet (who is now a recurring character)? I have a feeling that it's a side character who is going to return not that soon but in the last episodes.
I'm talking about Faris D'jinn and in this (long) post I'm going to explain why.
First of all, their (brief) interactions. Huey was the first member of the Duck family to meet D'jinn and he was the one who asked if him and Amunet were ok in Moonvasion!
Now this may be very brief but I theorise Huey is going to have more conversations with Faris the next time he appears. They have many things in common after all.
What are those things you may ask? Apart of wearing red in their clothes.
Well, that is the second point. Both like order and things going their way because it makes them easy and in Huey's case, secure.
D'jinn had one thing in mind in all the Treasure of the Found Lamp! episode: To find the lamp of his ancestors in his birthday or devastating consequences would happen aka he's going to be sad. This could count as hyperfocusing on something, that would be the lamp and the story behind it.
He was so concentrated on that matter that he involved the duck family in a quest that some of them (Scrooge and Louie) didn't want to be part of, but felt they have no choice.
This reminds me of the episode where it was Scrooge's birthday and Huey wanted to prove that he could be a better party planner than Duckworth (the already deceased buttler) to the point of only for one second to transform into "the Duke", you know, that facet of Huey that cames to life when a great injustice was made like when Mark Beaks made Dewey the superior of Huey despite the fact that the Blue One didn't put as much effort as the Red One or when a boss character ruins his carefully cultivated farm plot in Legends of Legendquest and the older sibling went mad.
Well, D'jinn had moments that from his point of view count as injustices too. First the lamp was stolen centuries ago, then he finds where it is and goes to Scrooge to have it back, then the old duck tells him the lamp was misplaced. Since Faris had a schedule that he must complete before it's too late, he proposes to find the lamp in a rather...intense way that ends up scaring the ducks. Then he goes to Itaquack and spends maybe hours solving riddles and he knows they are stalling him and gets more impatient. THEN he discovers the lamp was stolen AGAIN under his nose by Ma Beagle and that he was SO close to obtain it right there. These last things of course couldn't happen as the quest was fake but Faris didn't know that.
While I don't think D'jinn has a whole "Duke" persona, he has little moments of intensity that instead of helping him only makes things worse.
It's because these moments of intensity and misunderstandings that the ducks had to make a false quest to obtain more time and stop D'jinn for...wanting to kill them.
No, seriously, the family thought they were death duck meat if they didn't find the lamp which again it's a big misunderstanding, as we found out Faris isn't the kind of guy who is violent just because and he wouldn't kill enemies.
Look, D'jinn is my favorite side character in all Ducktales and I even made a big analysis of why he is a great character a year ago. But... guy has poor communication skills. Let's admit it, many of you wouldn't stay in the same room as someone who not only is very (very) dramatic but also has weapons at their disposition.
Anyway going back to Huey...the Red Bean also has problems with communication. For example, as @pholux-twg pointed out, many things could have been resolved if only Huey had the time to explain his insecurities and point of view in The Trickening!, something he didn't do well in Scrooge's birthday.
And talking about that episode again, he was pushing his siblings to do the perfect birthday for Scrooge, something that Scrooge himself didn't want to. Huey had good intentions when trying to organize the party but his actions and considerations of other people's feelings were not productive, just like D'jinn had good intentions at getting the lamp back but the way he tried to obtain it just scared everybody.
Also to me it is very amusing that D'jinn is a warrior who trusts everybody so much (I mean, he didn't stop to consider if Ma Beagle was lying about the lamp, he believed her inmediatly) and falls for simple jokes as the "got your nose" joke. It is possible that he's not that naive but simply he doesn't really know when somebody is lying or not even if it's very obvious. Just like Huey is Mister "I'm not good at imagination stuff" D'jinn could be "I'm not good at detecting lies and metaphorical jokes"
Then we have the scroll that D'jinn owns and it has the story of his family, his quest for the perfect birthday gift and maybe more information, he writes on it what he has accomplished and that reminds me of the Junior Woodchuck Guidebook that Huey has for guidance. We don't know what could happen if Faris lost the scroll because it seems that he also uses it for guidance in his quests (or in the quest of his life)
Gif belong to @pholux-twg , @stevenfallsvs and @greatgamedota
Also I would like to point out that Huey had moments of stimming in Season 3 and I think D'jinn had moments of this in his debut episode...if spinning his sword many times counts as stimming, because maybe is a cool thing that he does when trying to impresionte those around him but maybe...just maybe he spins his sword when experiencing strong emotions like:
Anger
Determination
Hapiness
But wait you would say, that doesn't make sense as he has the same stoic face in the three gifs.
Yeah, but the thing is, and this is one of the theories that I have...he's masking.
During all the journey he's excited but mostly reserved and it's only when he understood that everyone thought there was a genie in the lamp and said object was now at his disposition that he broke his stoic and serious presence and began to show more than just one emotion.
But from a brief moment before the battle with the Beagle Boys we see the moment he discovers all his quest was a charade to stop him from getting angry, we get this:
He's confused, sad, hurt and angry again when facing the ducks. Then as he questions if everything was fake he seems sad again.
This is of course justified in that he's a tough warrior. Heavens forbid if he shows emotions that could be perceived as weak in front of his allies and enemies.
But we have to consider this: D'jinn lives for epic and little quests. It's his hobbie, his favorite activity, he sees life as a big quest and him as just another player and he takes that very seriously.
The thing is... the others don't. They only pay attention to him for fear of their lives. This is just a guy who you can't ignore. Like I said before Scrooge and Louie only want to escape the problem they got into and even Huey is amazed at how much dedication the warrior puts on the lamp and the quest.
Huey (to Louie): D'jinn monologued about this lamp and the Ifrit's Dawn for ten minutes without blinking!
Taking into account that, let's go back to Faris realizing the ducks lied to him. They used his favorite hobby and interest as a joke. Without saying it, the ducks practicaly said: "You know, we don't care about being part of your quest or your lamp or listening to your dramatic stories. We just don't want to get destroyed. We want you to leave us alone as soon as possible"
And all I have to say is...ouch. OUCH
I mean, of course that supposition is not true because Dewey enjoyed the adventure and Webby was living the dream! But D'jinn didn't know that.
I also have to wonder if him not getting into drama over the lie was because he was very focused in obtaining the lamp or maybe he's just used to it. And for "it" I mean having to deal with many lies made to get rid of him and his dramatic actitude, and that actitude is not wrong or bad but some persons just don't have time or patience for that and we don't know how many people encountered the warrior in the past.
We don't know if his family is as interested and passionate about their history as D'jinn, or if he still has a brother or more siblings but (theory) if he turns out to be the only member of his family to have that passion for history and adventures then he would have another thing in common with Huey. Both love their families deeply but they feel they don't understand them.
At least we have one thing clear for sure and it is that in his last birthday, D'jinn wasn't alone.
I hope he continues to make more friends or how he puts it "allies" and please let him interact with Huey! It's the Red One's season after all.
Also as a sidenote it is interesting that in the last picture Webby, Beakly and Huey (who are confirmed to have more presence and lore in this season) were in one group together. Foreshadowing?

On HSMTMTS
Confession time: In the past 10 weeks, I have religiously watched High School Musical: The Musical: The Series every Friday night.
I grew up with the movies, and I was excited about what new they can make of the story - way back in 2015-16, maybe? - when the first news were announced of a possible HSM series. When the final trailer came out, my thoughts were that it was going to be typical Disney with the cringey humor and overdone drama (no hate on Disney because I would lie if I said I don't enjoy and watch the stuff they do, but sometimes it's just a little too much, y'know?), but it turned out to be a lot more than what I expected.
I started the first episode with 'let's see' and stayed for the hilarious humor, the mockumentary takes, secondhand embarrassment, the enjoyable level drama, surprising twists, important representation and the extremely relatable characters, who are teenagers, just like I am and most of us are. By this week I got to the point where I was bouncing on my feet from Saturday to this morning when I finally got to watch episode 10.
SPOILERS FROM HERE
Now, as I'm watching the season finale, my feelings are all mixed up. The entire musical was a mess, but the real point was in the dynamics changes between the characters and their development, and I think they all made it great in that sense. I loved the plot twists, I loved the kid's families - except Ricky's mom, because how dare she - the friendships shaping up. How Miss Jenn and Mr. Mazarra's, and EJ and Gina's realtionship turned out. I was losing it with 'Breaking Free', Ricky and Nini looked so happy it made me tear up just a little. I was grinning all the while with the dressing room scene. EJ's character development is phenomenal, and the airplane ticket thing surprised me a lot. Ashlyn is someone I aspire to be like, the most level-headed, hilarious but great character, true queen of the show dare I say. Big Red is an amazing friend and I look forward to him joining the robotics club in the future. Seb is and ICON and I love him so much! As well as Carlos who put in so much work for this to happen with his awkward genius. I'm so glad Gina seems to be finding her place, and I hope all will work out with Ashlyn's invitation. Kourtney is also an amazing friend, and though she didn't get much screen time in this episode, what she did really helped Nini to get in that school. Miss Jenn got her line and recognition, and the one thing I am truly anxious about is how her and Mr. Mazarra's future will be after the principal finding out about the fire. Lastly but not least, Ricky and Nini. I feel like both of them found themselves along the line, Ricky in this family that he didn't expect, and Nini in her newfound independence. They never once got over each other and their friendship was always there beneath all the conflict. They have both seen each other grow and found each other in the end. All in all, each one of them are unique personalities and are absolutely iconic. Gosh. So much has happened in this episode, so much has changed from the start and I reflected a little on how each of the characters have changed so much in such a great direction. These entire 10 episodes are in my heart.
END OF SPOILERS
Though I didn't look up the cast for a long time, nor did I follow much of the backstage happenings until this week, from what I caught up on, they are all very great people and amazing talents, and they also became family on the way to here. What they did here - as a fan of the original movies and now I can say, a fan of them - is really something magical and unique, both very nostalgic and something new, if you get what I'm saying. I made a promise that in the following seasons, which I will, of course, also watch religiously, I will make it a point to follow more of the cast's adventures.
On a more personal note, the songs are extra special to me. Along the line I have been gifted my first guitar, which is something I have dreamed of for as long as I can remember. As I learned some chords and the basics of playing a tune, I immediately tried to play and sing my favourites from the soundtrack to myself. These were among the first songs I can now say I learned. This will stuck for a good while.
I want to say an enormous congratulations and thank you to the cast and the staff of the series for making this happen. I cannot wait for season 2!
