I want my art to be Hozier-coded not in a ‘ooh bog man’ way, but in a ‘discussing important socio-political concepts in a beautiful and incredibly meaningful way while using a long history of other meaningful media to express such concepts even to the extent of taking media that may not have originated for that purpose and using it to further illustrate one’s point for the sake of one’s audience’

This might be a bit corny lol. Admittedly, I'm not really satisfied with how this turned out (might tweak things later maybe), but it's been so long since I've drawn anything and I wanted to get something out by Halloween at least, so this will have to do. u_u

obsessed with how Ariadne killed her dad, and Dionysus, who's been having daddy issues all season, witnessed this and instantly fell in love.

Skyphos number two! Inspired by the very talented @hellenhighwater ‘s Minotaur sculpture, a painting by Flandrin, a sculpture by Paul Cabet, and a very handsome charolais bull from Google images.
Other skyphos here

Ariadne explaining how to navigate the labyrinth (and after) to Theseus. It’s important, she’s committing treason for you Theseus, don’t look at her like that.

🚨Minor Kaos spoilers, mostly about ships🚨
Genuinely losing my mind over the fact that the only relationship, the only form of love to receive divine support is Orpheus’s intense, overwhelming, needy love. Bc Orpheus doesn’t love Eurydice, he worships her. He puts her on a pedestal and devotes himself to her.
And obv there are like plot reasons for Dionysus’s support of Orpheus. But it keeps sticking out to me. Bc the gods don’t care about the sweet and equal relationships between Riddy and Caeneus or Nax and Theseus. Hell, Poseidon straight up ignores and completely disregards Minos’s love for his children, especially Ari.
And it’s just so interesting bc the only “love” to receive divine approval (twice!!) is Orpheus’s worshipful devotion. And I just think it shows so much about how the gods interact with humanity. Even those who care about and interact with humans fundamentally misunderstand human emotions relationships.
