Barnacles and Kwazii

I used @/cacartoon ’s designs for the two cuz,,

They are adorable :3c

And I love them very much :3c

Of course, with my own additions and changes, but overall the same

I don’t know if tagging them is encouraged or discouraged, so I played it safe while giving the credit where credit is due 👍

One headcanon I didn’t mention in my Barnacles headcanon post is when he was a cub, when he was scared, he’d hold and pet Natquiks tail. Its soft warm fur always seemed to calm him down, and Natquik was more than happy to help.

Then one day, while exploring then getting trapped in a cave, he started doing the same with Kwaziis tail, it’s when I imagine he told Kwazii about his claustrophobia, and like Natquik, Kwazii has more than happy to help.

Barnacles doesn’t do it nearly as often as when he did as a cub, but it does happen on particularly stressful and/or scary missions

This hc also reminds me of this Octonauts firefly fanart. Idk what firefly is but I lowkey adore these outfits on them.

I love kwaziiis outfit so much with the cute little hat and gun. Tunips colour palette is so fitting. I also love Dashi’s outfit cause I think the red really suits her. I also just love to see the leadership trio holding guns cause they 100% would use them unironically.

I reckon Tweak would know how to use a gun but me personally I don’t think that would be her go to. Maybe Peso would threaten someone with a gun if he needs to but working in the medical field he’d probably be terrified of them (also omg he looks so short and bald in this art like I can’t). Shellington, eh… nah I don’t really see him using a gun.

Oh my gosh on the topic of weapons I love how Tunip looks so adorable in this yet he’s just casually holding an axe and knife? Like 🪓☺️🔪 is such a silly combo to hit. Also the Professor, well I have no doubt he’s learnt how you multiple weapons in his time and I reckon he’d have no trouble using a gun.

Back to the actual head cannon, Kwazii probably originally learnt how to use both a gun and a sword from calico jack. Although going along @calamaroo historical head cannon of Calico jack based off of John Rackham, he’s definitely better with the sword then a gun.

So whilst I reckon Kwazii had a good basis to of how to use a gun, I reckon someone like Barnacles would’ve helped sharpen up his skills. Cause I reckon Barnacles would’ve learnt how to use a gun quite well from Natquik and scouts. Maybe they traded skills with each other and taught eachother the skills they were good at.

I love imagining the Octonauts using weapons, thanks for the ask!

Calico Jack… is a modern pirate (not Arr me harties.) It’s his first time here reuniting with and seeing his grandson as an animal. Kwazii realises that Jack’s a bad guy and wants nothing to do with him.

Calico Jack starts to convince Kwazii of the Octonauts’ not being family. This world is super rough so CJ believes in ‘Survival of the fittest’.

Annnnd umm, Calico Jack does what a bad pirate does and steals. People. Well, person. Well, cat. He lies and says the Octonauts are already gone. They’re most definitely not. Barnacles is shaking CJ’s crew for answers.

Later on in the show, Calico Jack does get redeemed!

BY THE WAY tracker, instead of wanting to date barnacles, just really really wants him to be his brother!

dashi still acts the same as circe and there are still suitors for bianca tho. i scramble up the story quite a bit and there's still a lot of tweaks (heh.) that need to be made so the story makes a bit more sense (mostly for the ithaca characters cus it's difficult to work around since i changed the plot lol. basically since barn has been gone for so long they want bianca to officially take over and then marry her to be king or whatever)
