Scion: Oceans Beyond Oceans

And now for something completely different: the story so far of my Scion solo game! You can blame Subnautica for this one, but the story is going in a decidedly different direction.

Prologue: 

The game begins with Olivia Rexus partying on her yacht at a “charity” event for the super rich, drunkenly spilling an entire tray of shot on a Scion of Dionysus, then puking all over said Scion’s feet All and all, a wonderful beginning

Episode 1: 

Last time Olivia barfed on a Scion of Dionysus, making a friend in the process because it was a Scion of Dionysus. I opted to make this a prologue (cause its a solo game and I can do that for narrative effect) and make the maenad-Scion, named Irida Ellis, into Olivia's Guide Birthright (I had another one planned previously, but they weren't showing up until later anyhow). 

This time we have a bit of a timeskip to another party of Olivia's yacht. Liv picks up on the biggest potential threat being Greg Hutt, a rather grump doctor who is gunning to become a Senator. Not a physical threat for sure, but Olivia made an ass of herself at the last party she hosted and alienating him further could make her life more difficult. She IDs someone close to Dr Hutt who may be able to sway him to having a more positive attitude to Olivia - Jackie James, Hutt's close confident and lawyer. She is much more blasé about Olivia's wealthy socialite and appreciated how Olivia (barely) managed to turn what could have been conflict with the Scion into a friendship.

Olivia wanted to send Don Harper, her personal Bard, to scope out the rest of the crowd, but he instead relays info from the Azores coast guard - there's storm coming down on them quickly. Olivia still takes a crack at influencing Jackie - she tries to do it without the lawyer picking up on what she's doing, but isn't subtle enough. Still, Jackie says she'll put in a good word, but that Olivia owes her one. 

As the storm finally bears down on the retreating boat, a flock of swans fly overhead and land on the roof, to a great deal of confusion of the passengers. Things don't go will for Olivia, as soon as the birds land, lightning strikes the boat, igniting a fire on deck. Olivia tries to put it out, fails and gets knocked overboard. Don helps her back up with a life preserve, but now she's badly injured. Lightning strikes again and knocks Liv down.

While she's getting up, she spots an incoming wave and yells for everyone to brace, somehow managing to get every through uninjured. She straight up botches her next attempt at putting out the fire, but then the Storm botches its attempt to flood the boat and puts the fire out (the storm is not sentient, but I'm running it as an antagonist). The fire caused enough damage to cause a power outage, leaving the boat rudderless. Despite only having basic tech training, Olivia is able to immediately get power back (thanks to spending the entire Momentum Pool). 

Because the crises aren't over, while she's doing that, a civilian gets knocked overboard. In an incredible show, Olivia flings a life preserve over to man overboard and hauls him back on deck almost immediately. Dice wise, she rolled three tens on dice pool of eight, turned one of those into another ten, and turned that ten into another success for a total of five! So basically after getting her ass totally kicked by this weather and nearly dying, she pulls off some major Origin-level heroics. 

Sadly, that's where her luck ends, as she and Don both get pitched overboard, finally taking Olivia out, although the rest of the ship is saved... 

(Although the intent was always to have her stranded on a deserted island, so she put up a really good fight against it)

Day 18 of Hermit-a-Day May: Favorite Build!

Though the vast majority of the famous Dadah Range has been mapped, there remain regions warped and made dangerous by the old and now forbidden magic of an Age long past. Said by some to be part of the old place of the King of Dadah, and by others to be the doomed project of one of his heirs, the Floating Castle was long ago repurposed by the Brimhats as their own sort of Tower of Tomes. Full of their collated forbidden knowledge, from books on how to enchant a trident to return to the thrower, to the unnatural eggs of terribly altered beasts, to the last remaining seeds of the wondrous glowing gardens of antiquity, the criminals have used every trick in their book to keep this knowledge from falling into the hands of the Great Hall.

Maximus Decimus Meridius Headcanons: Expressions of Love

The thing about Maximus is that, once he is in love with you, everything he does becomes an expression of love.

He has always been a keen observer, and he puts those skills to good use in his relationship with you. Anytime you are sad or frustrated or uncertain, he always is able to sense those emotions without you having to tell him.

...and while he isn't the type for grand gestures, he will always find a way to reassure you. A subtle squeeze of your hand, if you're in a public place. An embrace that lasts longer than usual. Some soft words of encouragement.

...AND just because he's not the type for grand public gestures, that doesn't mean he's not a romantic down to the depths of his bones. This man absolutely lives to bring you flowers, gift you the finest horses he can find, carve special figures for you out of wood. Nothing brings him greater joy than not only being able to give you something, but being able to make it with his own hands and think of you while he's making it.

Also kisses. So many kisses.

Kisses on your cheek, on your lips, on your forehead, your hands, your arms, your legs, your chest, your neck, every last inch of you. Gentle kisses, passionate kisses, languid kisses, intense kisses, emotional kisses, sleepy kisses... it just never ends with him.

He loves sharing his interests with you, as well. Reading is one of his favorite pastimes, and many evenings are spent curled up with him beside the fire or in bed, listening to him read aloud. Riding horses and tending crops also takes up a great deal of his time, and he loves for you to work alongside him so you can spend time together.

And he will look for so many opportunities to spend time with you. Going for a midnight swim together. Cooking a meal together. Taking an early-morning walk. Sharing a bath. Even just doing repairs around your home together. Anything is an opportunity.

While he is usually a very stoic and serious person, one of his primary expressions of love is the way he smiles and laughs when he's with you. It's as if he can't keep himself from grinning when he's watching you — you just bring him so much joy, he can't keep it contained inside.

Even if is far away from you for many months at a time, he finds himself whispering prayers to the gods to keep you safe, to not let him forget your smiling face, to bring you back together soon.

And when he returns home to you, it's with such joy, because his whole life has become an expression of love to you. If Maximus is in love with you, you will never have the slightest reason to doubt his love.

...and of course a few slightly nsfw ones, because I can't help it :D

There is no sex with Maximus that does not involve an untold amount of kissing, caressing, and outpourings of affection. Every time he takes you in his arms, it's because he wants to demonstrate his love for you, and he always does exactly that.

Having him go down on you isn't something you even have to ask for — he does it of his own volition. More nights than not are spent with him kneeling between your legs, coaxing the sweetest sounds from you.

Nothing pleases him more than knowing that you trust him and that he satisfies you as no one else can. Hearing you moan his name is like an aphrodisiac.

He always keeps his eyes open when you make love. He wants to study your expressions, look deep in your eyes while you're sharing that time together.

And when you're both finished and so spent you can't even move, he always takes the time to gather you up in his arms, kiss your face gently, and whisper how much he loves you before you both drift off to sleep in each other's embrace.

Hello, I would like to reiterate the question on this post and give my thoughts on it now that it's been a while since Beyond came out.

It's not the fact that Takeru is in the Dark Ocean that weirds me out and confuses me, it's the fact that he's so calm.

Like I said, I headcanon that since Takeru actively went looking for Hikari and willingly entered the Dark Ocean that he got dragged into the Dark Ocean's shenanigans.

Hikari and Ken have a connection with it and Takeru got dragged in since he actively went looking for the Dark Ocean while trying to find Hikari.

I don't think Miyako has the same problem, since she was more pulling into the Dark Ocean since she was with Ken and Hikari, she was more collateral damage.

So it's not the fact that Takeru's in the Dark Ocean, and think it creates a fun little idea that Takeru gets pulled into darkness just like Hikari and Ken.

It's the fact that he's so calm!

That is not the fact someone should make when in a land of darkness!

Especially since the Dark Ocean has tried to use the darkness to hurt the people he's cared about and to just hurt people in general.

I just want to remind people that Takeru doesn't hate the powers of darkness itself, he just doesn't like it when people or digimon use the darkness to hurt the others.

He says in 02 that light cannot exist without the darkness.

And if you've even seen the jp version of the episode where Hikari first goes to the Dark Ocean then you'd know that what they want to do to her is definitely evil.

So why is he so calm!

It kinda freaks me out. Takeru gets angry at the powers of darkness, and you don't get more dark then the world of darkness. And this place has hurt people he cares about.

From what we know of Takeru and his personality he should be angry, maybe even scared a little.

But he's not.

He's calm.

And it's freaking me out.

I don't know, after Beyond came out I wrote a short fic about this scene right here, will probably post it tomorrow so tell me if you'd like to read a fic that try's to explain why Takeru is so calm here.

I like other peoples theories, like how the Dark Ocean is a metaphor for depression and how Takeru is here because he starts to pull himself away from the others because of his writing.

There was also a statement from Kakudou, the director of Beyond who was also the director for Digimon Adventure 1999 and Digimon Adventure 02 that said that he just wanted to continue to explore how he thought the kids would be like when they were older that he didn't get to explore in other pieces of Digimon Adventure media.

I like all of those, and I'm sure that there are other theories that I will love and Kakudou can do what he wants and I love Beyond too, but no matter what I think I'm still going to be a little weirded out by this.

I love Takeru, he's always been my favorite character in Digimon.

I love seeing him get screen time and Takeru has always been one of the only characters where we see how the Digital World affected him and we get to see how his trauma manifests.

From him attacking Ken in 02, too him breaking down when Patamon gets infected in Tri, too him being scared of breaking the bonds between digimon in The Beginning.

It would be amazing to have the Dark Ocean come back and to include Takeru in a storyline with it, but this, this just feels a little dissapoiting.

There was so many things they could have done for Beyond, and what we got kinda feels like a let down. I love it, and will gladly watch it over and over again.

But I feel like a movie or another anime would have been even better for seeing how the kids we all grew up with are like now and how they have changed because of their adventures.

People really want more, but that wont happen for a while because of Digimon Beatbreak, and it might not happen at all. If it here I think a nice two hour long movie would be great.

Anyway, to wrap this up, I love Takeru, and would love and Dark Ocean plot for him and Hikari and Ken, but no matter what without context this scene will always weird me out.

SEA CREATURES!!!! They all love their prince so much!! Other than cutting them out of nets, I'm a firm believer he is a big protector of their areas of migration and he always make sure to gently herd them away from places with large human activity or places with heavy pollution. JUST!! PERCY!! guiding a school of fish!!

Percy loves nature so much, he loves both the land and sea, he loves all the creatures of the sea, from the tiny minnows darting around his feet to the "scary" shark (which he canoncially thinks of like puppies), he loves the animals of the land as fiercely as he loves the animals of the sea❗️❗️
