didn't notice it until this comment but if you look really closely at Crosshair's face when he says "is that a no?", it looks (to me) like his expression changes very subtly and quickly at the last milisecond. he looks... worried?

like idk he's trying to act assertive but his eyes say "oh dear god what if she says No, then what the hell do we do???"

and yeah it could be a general sense of worry about their situation... or, as said above, i do wonder if he's asking himself "is she saying no to us or is she saying no to me?"

My favorite part of this episode was Phee meeting Crosshair and immediately giving him shit

in-story, i'd say this is definitely a man who is compartmentalizing. Tech is dead, Omega has been kidnapped... and there's nothing Hunter can do to change the former, so he's focusing on fixing the latter. and no doubt he's burying all his feelings about Tech's death underneath Omega's kidnapping as an excuse to not deal with them right now.

(from an audience perspective it's ANNOYING AF because i wanted to see MORE of this but i think i've beat the "we don't get to see any emotional reactions in this show" horse to death by now so i'll leave it lmao)

The fact that Wrecker had just referenced Tech’s death here, and this was Hunter’s genuine reaction…

It’s so heartbreaking because this is really the only time we can see just how devastated he is by Tech’s death. Sure, it’s present when he tells Omega in Plan 99, but some of that devastation stems from her own reaction to the news. This is just Hunter, months later, looking as worn and devastated as he likely was when it had only just happened. It never got easier for him.

the scene when Omega wakes up and realizes Tech is gone and Hunter has to confirm it for her and all that... is just absolutely heart breaking to watch, my god

Hunter's absolutely devastated expressions. (and Wreckers, oh my god.) Hunter can't even make eye contact when he confirms Tech has died. he reaches out to comfort Omega and she swats him away and he somehow looks even more devastated, just in complete utter pain. but he doesn't pull away completely, his hand hovers near Omega, he gives her a second, and then he so gently, so slowly, reaches out to comfort her again, hesitating to make sure it's ok, and then he reaches all the way around to kinda hold her backside/gently rub her back. he's probably ready to burst any minute but he's keeping it together for Omega. guuughghugghghhghg.
