Chapter 3: THIS HAS BEEN THE CRAZIEST DAY OF MY LIFE SO FAR!!!!!!!!!!! (12/30/22)
(DISCLAIMER: Some or all of the events detailed below may be falsified, fantasized, fictional, or just straight up untrue)
YOU GUYS ARE NOT GONNA BELIEVE WHAT JUSTY HAPPENED TODAY!!!!! LIKE OMG IT WAS THE CRAZIEST SHIT EVER!!!!!!1!!!!!
so to start, I was just chilling at Ivy's Garden, you know, getting some food and chilling with the peeps, when this totally not at all suspicious dude pulled up in a big white limo and asked who wanted a ride? FOR FREE??? LIKE OMG, I KNOW MY OWN WORTH, OF COURSE I'LKL TAKE A FREE LIMO RIDE!! I asked where we were going, and he said that we were going to pick up more people so that we can GO ON AN ADVENTURE!!! AND OMG DID WE HAVE AN ADVENTURE!!! So first we picked up this dude, you've probably heard of him, his name is Mickey Bliss! And he's a celebrity, because he posted on twitter that he's over 27k IN DEBT!!! So then Mickey asked if we could pick up his friend Kenneth, who just got out of prison, and so of course we did! And right as I was wondering what kind of adventure we were going to have, the limo owner, who's name is Gjeric, said that 3 OF HIS TOES WERE KIDNAPPED!!! LIKE, OMG!!!! WHERE DID THEY GO??? So then Mickey offered to donate some of his toes, and Gjeric ACCEPTED!!! So Gjeric took us to this really sketchy dark place and CUT OFF SOME OF MICKEY'S TOES!!! It was more than 3, but hey, he probably needed a few extra in case some more of his got stolen. So then we went to the hospital to get Mickey and Gjeric's feet fixed, but on the way there we stopped at Ivy's to buy some meatballs. While Gjeric was distracted buying meatballs, Mickey told me that HE THINKS GJERIC EATS TOES. I said no way, but just wait because the story gets EVEN CRAZZIER. So we went to the hospital and the doctor sewed 3 of Mickey's toes onto Gjeric's feet. BUT, AND CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS, GJERIC HAD A WHOLE BUNCH OF MISMATCHED TOES ON HIS FEET, FROM EVERY RACE YOU CAN THINK OF!!! IT WAS SO WILD!!! BUT THAT'S NOT EVEN THE CRAZIEST PART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BECAUSE WHILE THE DOCTOR WAS SEWING MICKEY'S TOES ONTO GJERIC'S FEET, ANOTHER DOCTOR WAS SEWING THE MEATBALLS THAT GJERIC BOUGHT ONTO MICKEY'S FEET!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S RIGHT, MICKEY NOW HAS MEATBALLS FOR TOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ISN'T THAT JSUT THE CRAZIEST SHIT YOU'VE EVER HEARD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?!? So then as we were leaving the hospital, GJERIC GOT ARRESTED FOR MEDICAL MALPRACTICE! BECASE I POSTED A PICTURE OF HIM CUTTING OFF MICKEY'S TOES ON TWITTER, AND THE COPS SAW IT!!!!!!!!!!!! So then me, Ken and Mickey were wondering what to do. So we went to the strip club, which was empty, and took pictures of Mickey's MEATBALL TOES!!!!!!! He said that his feet were kind of hurting, so he started walking with a cane. Kenneth already had a cane, IDK why, but at this point I was starting to feel a little left out, so I grabbed a cane too, even though I didn't need it, and then we started calling ourselves silly things such as the Three Muscaneteers and the Cooky Cane Crew (the second one is the one that seemed to stick) So then Ken and Mickey told me about this place they're banned from, called South Side Autos, so we went there and looked in the window, but this guy kept circling us on his motorcycle, and Mick thought it was so annoying, so he PUSHED THE GUY OFF THE BIKE AND DROVE IT AWAY1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THEN ALL THE EMPLOYEES AT SOUTH SIDE STARTED SHOOTING AT ME AND KEN!!! I SHOT BACK IN SELF DEFENCE BUT THEN I GOT SHOT IN THE LEG!!!!!!!!!!! SO NOW I ACTUALLY NEED A CANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THEN WE GOT ARRESTED!!!!!!! I WENT TO PRISON FOR TRESPASSING!!!!!!!!!! BUT since it was only Mickey and Ken who were banned from South Side Autos (I had never actually been to the place before), I called my paralegal friend Brian Hulme, who also climbed a mountain, and he said he will talk to his connections and see about getting my charges removed. Oh yeah, and prison was super boring, there was nobody there so I just practiced my parkour. That's all for today friends, and as always don't forget to follow me on twitter for hourly updates!!! Bye now!!
((OOC Author's note: thanks for reading! To watch more crazy events like this unfold LIVE, follow me on twitch! https://www.twitch.tv/blayr2016 ))

hi hazel i'm late but if you're still in a chatty mood, what are your favourite 5sos/mashton headcanons? -taylor
@jbhmalumm omg sorry for the delay! i was unpacking stuff today
headcanons for rpf are fun because our "source material" doesn't provide a lot of detailed character information in the same way that a book or movie would and we're completely fictionalizing them anyway, so you can make basically everything up! so here are a few little tidbits, some of them more inspired by the actual boys than others
When on tour, Ashton loves going out to explore! He's gained a new appreciation for seeing the world after the pandemic locked everything down, and he tries to stop somewhere in every city they visit. Often, this is something as simple as going to breakfast with the boys and the crew. Michael, on the other hand, usually doesn't come with because he is the band homebody. He loves travelling too, but tour was a bigger adjustment for him and he needs time to be alone and chill. Calum will almost always go adventuring with Ashton, and while Luke does so more often than not, he's also more likely than the other two to stay back on the bus or hotel.
Ashton offers the boys massages whenever any of them have a knot in their muscles, and he's the most knowledgeable about how to take care of their bodies if they push them too far. He encourages all of them to take ice baths, although Luke is the only one who enjoys it
They're all decent cooks at this point, but Calum is amazing at cooking eggs. For some unknown reason, no one's eggs can match his, even though Ashton or Michael are a little bit better at cooking everything else. Luke has a specific type of cookie that he makes that the others love. The recipe is a very closely guarded secret to ensure that no one else learns how to make it better than him.
Michael and Ashton are wonderful at picking up exactly where they left off. The whole band is given how comfortable they are with each other (and how little time they spend apart) but Michael and Ashton might have less text or phone conversations when apart, but be able to pick up mid-conversation as soon as they get back in the room together. They also really enjoy doing two different things while in the same space together.
It's an inside joke that Michael was Ashton's original friend before the other two entered the picture. He uses it to win arguments even if it has absolutely nothing to do with the initial discussion.
my favorite romantic scenario for mashton is a slow and steady build where both of them are aware of it the entire time, but also scared of what could go wrong. both of them think it's just a little crush, then that their friendship and the band is too important to jeopardize and that the mutual attraction will shift to regular friendship, then after a few years they realize that the romantic feelings aren't going away and that they have nothing to worry about. once they're together, they're together. there's never a question of how permanent it is. they go from being friends directly to being life partners.
then because I'm going to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow, here are some ren fest headcanons!
Michael is the one who suggests that they go, because Michael absolutely loves the food and theatrics and fantasy elements.
Luke is the only one who dresses up at first in a simple shirt and trousers combo, but each year his costume gets more elaborate and the others slowly start to add costume pieces to their wardrobes, too
the first year they go, they stop by a hurdy gurdy performance and Calum becomes obsessed. all of them get the last song stuck in their head and hum it while walking around the fest, but calum finds a spotify playlist of hurdy gurdy music as soon as he gets home and saves it
They all spend an inordinate amount of time watching a blacksmith make a sword. Ashton says that he would love to learn something like that and asks the vendor about the blacksmithing process. Michael immediately googles blacksmithing classes near them and looks up how to build a home forge in the garage if Ashton enjoys the first class
Calum's favorite food at the fest is soup in a bread bowl. Ashton loves talking to all of the different vendors about their products. Luke really loves the street characters and pauses to watch as many little performances as possible. When they sit down for official shows, Michael somehow always gets picked for audience participation portions
Michael goes home absolutely sunburnt after every day at the festival. he also usually goes home with the most merch out of any of them, including a sword one year, some intricate maps, various leather pouches, dragon figurines, and other little trinkets, papers, and things collected from street performers
sleepover weekend

August 15: 2x03 The Paradise Syndrome
I have seen this episode once before and I remember it being pretty awful... but tbh, I didn’t think it was so bad this time around. Maybe that’s just because my expectations were, like, Spock’s-Brain low. It definitely had issues but there was stuff I liked too!
Hmmm, that’s not the bridge. It appears to be... California?
Wondering what people might be so “blessed by this environment”--what a manly he-man action/adventure guy thing to say, amirite?
How does Spock know the significant markers of all the Native American tribes at a distance, off the top of his head?
(Answer: he doesn’t; all of this information is wrong and also one of those tribes is completely made up lmao.)
Honestly, who’s to say these people aren’t advanced? How do YOU know?
“Just so peaceful... no command decisions.” Oh no, Jim’s feeling Romantic again.
Honestly, imagine this characterization in AOS: overworked starship captain think he wants a break (but is wrong). Beyond made a vague attempt but missed what it is that Kirk finds stressful about command--it’s not that it’s boring, it’s the weight of the responsibility and the inability to find love.
Although funnily enough, even on his Native American Vacation, he still finds himself in a command position. He just can’t be stopped. Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself.
Oh no, the obelisk ate him.
Maybe these people specifically built the obelisk so that they could return to this idyllic ““primitive”“ state, hmm? Maybe they like their lives this way. Maybe they experienced "progress" and then decided that whatever era of their development looked like indigenous American peoples had it right. (This is not correct but it roughly is the plot of Errand of Mercy so I’m not without precedent.)
Spock’s using simple tools to explain his point to Bones lol. “Here, let me dumb it down for you, lesser man of science.”
“Who am I? What are these?” Cpine morning voice: “This must be a dream!”
Kirk looks so confused. The god from the obelisk.
“The engines are showing signs of stress.” Seems to me like SCOTTY’S showing signs of stress.
And yet the music is so whimsical.
Honestly Kirk’s expression here = Denny Crane’s when in a meeting
White man brings CPR, is hailed as god. (I wish I were making this up.)
Damn, Salish has been demoted. How embarrassing for him.
This is a VERY interesting Spock. He does all his calculations, but the he takes all the risks. He’s very certain and single-minded, almost obsessed, not afraid of anything. I think it’s IC but I also think you can see some Kirk influence, perhaps... You can see how Spock has grown in his command abilities since The Galileo Seven.
The wise ones = the aliens.
“He died before he could tell Salish the secret” to opening the Obelisk and stopping the asteroid. That IS unfortunate.
“How does this shirt open?” Lol.
“Your name is Kirok?” “Yeah, sure, whatever.”
“I’ve never been this happy and peaceful.” Funny how he looks neither happy nor peaceful. Maybe it’s something like “I’ve never been this happy and peaceful...and I don’t like it.” Or “I’ve never been this happy and peaceful... there must be something wrong.”
“Here there is much time. For everything.” No there isn’t, there’s an asteroid coming.
Kirk’s cottage core fantasy.
Poor Scotty, so stressed out. Maybe he needs some time with the indigenous aliens.
The Joining Day? Lol okay.
Kirk has no chill, at all. “Oh, you want to get married? Tomorrow? Okay!!” Is this how Gary was able to successfully distract with him the blonde lab technician?
The “stardrive.”
“Estimated repair time?” “FOREVER.”
“And you lost Jim.” Cool it Bones, there’s no need to be cruel. Spock’s already in his thinking pose so you know he’s taking this seriously.
Love Spock’s chair. That’s not Starfleet regulation.
“I have found paradise.” Is he high??
Requisite highly choreographed fight scene.
“You’ve barely eaten or slept for weeks.” That’s because he’s worried about Jim. And the giant asteroid. This is a great Spock and McCoy scene though.
I can’t believe this. Spock lies down (barely!) and McCoy just leaves like he actually thinks he’s won, and then Spock immediately gets up again to go back to work. This guy is even easier to fool than Sarek.
You know Spock spent his whole adolescence going "Sure, I'll do the thing" and then just not doing it.
“A strange lodge that moves through the sky...” Well okay.
Okay I’m sorry, is he sensing the enterprise or is he sensing SPOCK? Because most of this dialogue might just imply he’s generically remembering his old life... but he also specifically says that the “flying lodge” was farther away and now it’s closer again, and how he could he know that otherwise?
She’s pregnant? That’s not good lol. AWKWARD.
Also the closest that TOS will ever come to acknowledging people have sex.
Omg he made a lamp. He made a lamp on his first day there. Does this imply that Captain Kirk had an arts and crafts phase?? Like CPR I understand him knowing--I’m sure everyone in Starfleet does. But hand-carving a lamp? That’s a whole other skill.
Various cultures including “certain Vulcan offshoots” use music notes as words omgggggg I love this information PLEASE tell me more.
“The Preservers” is a good concept imo. Nifty sci fi innovation: taking aliens from endangered places and giving them a new place, then setting it up nicely for them.
Stop throwing things guys! It’s not helping!
“I need Nurse Chapel.” Damn right you do.
Spock really doesn’t like that “wife.” He sounds like “Wife?? How dare??”
Then he suggests it’s a hallucination even though there’s a woman right there.
"Naturally, since he did not come from there. He's my man, get your paws off him."
Vulcan mind fusion? What the heck is that? How is it season 3 and they still don’t know what to call it?
“He is an extremely dynamic individual.” Spock was really taken for a ride in that brain.
“The landing party is expendable.” There’s the Captain.
“I have an excellent eye for musical notes.” Brag.
“Just press the right button.”
Looks like Spock was the god they wanted all along.
Okay, that was an uncool ending though. I know they basically had to kill Miramanee as soon as she was pregnant but like, there was also no reason for her to be pregnant??? I would have preferred if (1) Miramanee hadn't been pregnant, (2) Jim got over her as soon as he regained his memory and (3) she lived and they just parted awkwardly.
Also I think it would have been nice if they had ended with the Enterprise explaining to Salish how the obelisk works, and then maybe even a hint that he and Miramanee will get back together. Like, maybe not that, since I’m not a fan of women just being used to, like, make men feel better--though I’m also not a fan of them being fridged because of Inconvenient Baby--but he should have at least gotten his position back and, more importantly, the knowledge he was always entitled to. Also, the very existence of an asteroid deflector, along with the people’s extensive knowledge of what weather signifies Oncoming Asteroid, implies this happens to them with some frequency. So in other words, the threat will return.
Plus Salish never got enough credit for being right, which he was! The whole time!
Oh and also I would have liked some acknowledgement that Jim does like being Captain. If you watch the whole show, you know that he occasionally bemoans the stress and his inability to maintain a romantic relationship, despite his love of long walks on the beach, but that he’s also ambitious, he loves exploration and adventure, he gets bored if left in one place too long, and he believes in the necessity of progress and discovery to keep not just individuals but societies from stagnation. But if you just watched this episode, you’d think he’d never been happy in his entire life, and that returning to command makes him miserable.
Aside from the Native American stuff--which was awkward and rather unnecessary and has aged, as you might imagine, very very poorly--I actually didn’t hate the episode. It had some VERY interesting Spock stuff, which I think is within a reasonable Spock characterization, and some great Spock and Bones moments. Kirk’s story line was surprisingly engaging for him being completely separate from the crew, and the general theme that he sometimes needs, or thinks he desires, a break from command, is definitely in keeping with other episodes. I liked the asteroid as the Big Danger, which was surprisingly dynamic--by which I mean, it did a good job of connecting the very disparate story lines on the Enterprise and on the planet. I also liked the Sci Fi Concept of the week in the Protectors. And it was interesting to see an ep take place over a longer period of time.
None of this is to downplay how awkward the Native American elements are--incredibly fetishistic, and also lazy--like, “I want to show something Simple and Idyllic...I know! Indians!” There was no reason they should look like American Indians. In fact, it makes no sense that they do: the Protectors take peoples from planets that are about to be destroyed and (somehow) discreetly move them somewhere else, but Native American peoples still.... very much exist? And so does Earth as a whole. So obviously these aliens weren’t transplanted from Earth. So why should their culture resemble some awkward mishmash of Native American cultures?
So overall I’d say, the ideas of the episode, the structure, the characterizations (mostly), and the overall ideas were good, but it was just very awkward and unfortunate that it chose the... aesthetic that it did--especially because it was very much an aesthetic choice and not a well-thought-out, culturally sensitive one. Gonna be honest and just chalk that up to it being 1968 though.
Next is And the Children Shall Lead, which I actually think was one of the first TOS eps I ever saw... But I don’t remember it at all.  So we’ll see!

DA 20+ Questions
Tagged by @antivan-surana thanks! Tagging @situationnormal @the-dread-doggo @acepavus @aroundofgwent @lakambaeni @kxnways @fuckbioware (no pressure ofc) and anyone who wants to?
The rest is under a read more because it’s long
01) Favourite game of the series?
Origins, only because you got less and less op as a mage as the games went on. I love all the games tbh.
02) How did you discover Dragon Age?
My friend got my sister into it. They kept talking and talking about it so finally I was like “ok lets see what the big deal is” and here I am now
03) How many times you’ve played the games?
I’ve done Origins twice fully, DA2 four times fully (omg I didn’t realize this until now lol) and DA:I just once fully. I have one unfinished playthrough of Origins with a Cousland, and I’m in the middle of maybe two of DA:I. I think I’ve gone back and replayed certain parts of both Origins and DA:I plenty of times.
04) Favourite race to play as?
Elf I guess? Though I’ve only fully played as a human and elf. I’m in the middle of a dwarf playthrough and I’m thinking of doing a qunari one in the future. It might change idk.
I just really liked playing as an elf in Origins so that’s why I got into elves. But the funny thing is, I wasn’t even thinking of playing as an elf when I played for the first time. I wanted to play as a human. I just did it on a whim.
05) Favourite class?
Mage, hands down. Realistically, they’re the most versatile class. They can do range and melee since anyone can learn how to fight with weapons. But the last two games won’t let you so :)
Also, this stems from the fact that I’ve been a harry potter fan since I could remember.
06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?
In my full, proper playthroughs that I’ve finished, it’s slightly different but still the same basic ideas. Sided with mages, agreed with Anders, etc.
But I am planning to try an evil playthrough in the future so
07) Go-to adventuring group?
DA:O (I have two)
Leliana, Wynne, Shale - the OG crew; they were my main crew in my first playthrough and it was a pretty even party
Zevran, Leliana, Alistair - the elf crew; esp. with Rhian they’re all elves because I saw a theory that Leliana is half elf and I’m down
DA2
It’s a mixed bag. If I’m not playing as a mage, I usually take Anders a lot because we need a healer and Merrill can’t heal. I tend not to take Sebastian as much after I max his friendship. After Sebastian, I take Aveline the least. Other than that I just mix it up. Unless I’m romancing someone, then I take them every time.
I’d love to take Anders, Fenris, and Merrill out more often but I hate how mean they all are to each other (looking @ u bioware 👀)
DA:I
My first playthrough, I mixed it up a lot in the beginning but then I ended up bringing Solas, Cole, and Blackwall a lot near the end for some reason?
I love taking Vivienne, Dorian, and Solas out, especially if I’m playing a mage, because it’s such a pretty fireworks show
In general though, if I’m romancing someone I take them with me almost always.
08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?
I think it’s a tie between Rhian and Lu.
09) Favourite romance?
To no one’s surprise, it’s Zevran :3
Solas is second because I just really like that angst.
10) Have you read any of the comics/books?
I’ve read The Silent Grove, Those Who Speak, and Until We Speak (because someone gifted me the Omnibus) and The Calling.
I also have Hard in Hightown, which I should probably read lol, and the art book of inquisition.
11) If you read them, which was your favourite book?
The Calling solely because of my mom Fiona and my dad Duncan.
12) Favourite DLCs?
Awakening because I love everyone and its also really funny that Rhian, who is 19 at that point, had to basically babysit people older than her and also run a whole arling.
I love both Legacy and Mark of the Assassin. Mark of the Assassin was really funny (though I hated the stealth part). I love Legacy specifically because when I was fighting Corypheus, both Varric and Anders K.O.’d and it was just me and Carver. It was a special family moment bringing down a whole entire magister together. I also hc that that was canon and it brought Kaia and Carver closer together.
13) Things that annoy you.
I’m gonna talk about the game bc if this is about the fandom, then that’s a whole other thing.
Anders’ writing for one. It doesn’t make sense that he’d approve of giving Fenris back to Danarius. And also that he wouldn’t tell f!Hawke that he’s bi? Then there’s the fact that Anders, Fenris, and Merrill all don’t get along when they have a lot in common.
Anything that was written by Lukas Krisdkjsdhkdk. Aveline, Sera, etc. he did a really bad job.
Also didn’t like that mages got less OP in the last two games.
There’s also the tone-deafness? Dorian, a brown man, saying slavery is ok. And also there’s the dialogue between Solas and Vivienne where Solas supposedly “owns” Vivienne. I think he says something like “may you learn”? Solas, a white person, saying this to Vivienne, a black woman, when there’s obvious colorism in Thedas? I think not.
There’s probably other but I can’t think of them right now.
14) Orlais or Ferelden?
Orlais is too snooty and Ferelden doesn’t season their food. I pick Seheron and Laysh because that’s where the Asians are at.
15) Templars or mages?
Mages
16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?
Originally, my canonverse was Rhian, Kaia, and Luwalhati. Alden and Bolin were part of an AU. Then Alden finagled his way in there, then I decided to have Bolin in there too. So now i have twin Hawkes and Bolin is part of the Inquisition (if he’s a companion or not, I haven’t thought about)
I have plenty of other OCs that I’m planning on, but they’re currently sorted into a different universe.
17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)
Pikamon for the Origins mabari. It’s a mix between the names of my two dogs, Pikachu and Cinnamon
Cinnachu for the DA2 mabari, also a mix of Pikachu and Cinnamon.
Lu’s mount is the royal sixteen (hart), which is given to you by Clan Lavellan if you manage to keep them alive iirc, and its name is Luntian, the tagalog word for green which is her favorite color. (In a teen!Lu AU, her mount is the bog unicorn bc she’s an edgelord)
18) Have you installed any mods?
It would be more surprising if I didn’t. How else would I manage to have my characters look like the’re poc?? And also get rid of whitewashing and have some continuity. I usually just do cosmetic mods if it’s my first playthrough. Then I do like “cheats” after I finish the game fully.
Fun fact, I once spent like 2+ hrs modding Origins to have the Zev romance the way I want. I also stayed up until like 5am trying to make Solas look like his concept art lol (it didn’t really work)
19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?
Rhian didn’t not want to become a warden. She read about them and thought they were an honorable order, but she didn’t expect to ever have a chance to become one. Her goal was to just go up in the Circle hierarchy, maybe even become First Enchanter. Then when the time came, she didn’t really have much of a choice.
20) Hawke’s personality?
Kaia is blue and Alden is purple
21) Did you make matching armor for your companions in Inquisition?
At first, I didn’t get what the big deal was with crafting. It didn’t seem fun at all lol. Then I tried it and was hooked. I don’t have them matching, but I do tend to try to match my Inquisitor with their LI in some way.
My usual procedure for armor in Inquisition is like this. I make everyone wear heavy armor and pick the materials that have the highest attributes, not caring how ridiculous the colors are. Then I go to tint them using a guide for each companion’s color scheme. This is the same for helmet but I usually have them turned off or have no one wearing one.
The only exception is Varric, Cole, and Blackwall. I have Varric wear the rogue armor that looks like his DA2 outfit, and Cole and Blackwall wear the Grey Warden heavy armor. I tint the grey warden armor using a guide for its color scheme.
I have Bull, Vivienne, and Cole wear their unique helmets.
22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?
Rhian - She’d probably want to re-do how she told Zevran that she wasn’t exactly dead.
Kaia - Taken Quentin’s threat more seriously and killed him before he got to Leandra
Alden - He has no regrets
Luwalhati - wouldn’t have taken Sam and Wis with her so they wouldn’t have had to have died in the conclave explosion
Bolin - None, all of his decisions led him to Dorian and he’s happy with that.
23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?
They’re all at least part Seheron?
I also hc that neither Carver nor Bethany die because Kaia was able to cast a barrier on both of them before the ogre got them. Then they both became Grey Wardens because Carver contracted the taint in the expedition and wouldn’t join the Wardens unless Bethany came with him too.
Another hc I have is that Sebastian didn’t leave when Anders was spared and stayed to help out. But he went his separate way after because he still didn’t approve of sparing him.
Oh shoot, I almost forgot. The most against canon thing I’ve done probably? Rhian didn’t do the Ritual but she did slay the archdemon without dying. Rhian’s an arcane warrior, so when she slayed it, she was partway in the fade. Being partway into the fade was enough for her essence, I guess, to survive it. But she’s not mortal anymore and kind of a spirit now? So she periodically has to chill in the fade because being in the real world takes a toll on her.
25) Who did you leave in the Fade?
In the game, it was Stroud. I killed Loghain and no way is Alistair gonna be trapped in there. Fiona will be sad. So I made Alistair king in the game only, so Stroud was the one that was left.
This is another off canon thing I did. In my actual canon, Alistair is the warden contact. The Hawke that comes to the Inquisition is both Kaia and Alden. Alden brings Fenris with him because he doesn’t go anywhere without his Boo-Boo. Bethany and Carver also come because Weisshaupt was being weird and it seemed like they would be safer in the Inquisition. Lu + her party, Alistair, Kaia, Alden, Fenris, Bethany, and Carver all come to Adamant. Because there’s so many people, everyone was able to escape the Fade. No one is left behind.
26) Favourite mount? The nugs! All of them :)
Though I don’t really use the mounts lol

a while back you recommended the movie Autopsy of Jane Doe and it was fantastic! Do you have any more horror movie recs that are psychological like that (with minimal jump scares preferably?)
omg yesssssssss, i sure as heck do. i looooooove recommending horror movies. kay, here we go, pychological, disturbing, and minimal jump scares:
1. Get Out (2017) - this is a newer movie, and I’m sure you’ve heard about it (and maybe even seen it already). I finally got to see it in theaters and it was marvelous. Very tense horror, minimal jump scares. Definitely recommend it if you haven’t seen it yet.
2. The Thing (1982) - this is probably my favorite horror movie, and one I will always, always recommend to people. It’s more sci-fi/horror, but horror none the less. This is a movie that feeds on uncertainty and tension, fueled by distrust and paranoia between the characters. (There was also a prequel to this movie made in 2011, and I certainly enjoyed that one as well, but it still couldn’t quite deliver the same chills and fear the 1982 version did.)
3. They Look Like People (2015) - this is another one that I just watched recently. Probably one of the best that fits the category of psychological horror. It’s a bit slow to start, but develops into a story that will leave you tense, unsure, and unsettled. Plus, it’s probably the only horror movie I have ever seen that manages to highlight mental illness without demonizing it.
4. As Above So Below (2014) - this is a movie that honestly, I was very skeptical about seeing. It’s a found footage movie (which I typically hate), and it got very poor reviews, but I wound up watching it on a whim one day and found myself enjoying it a lot more than I expected. It honestly is more of a adventure/horror film rather than a strict horror film - and the reviews might have been better, I think, if its marketing hadn’t painted it as a strict horror film. There are a few jump scares in there, but not a whole lot. Much the movie relies on claustrophobia, confusion, and mystery. It’s really an interesting look at a journey into hell. I greatly enjoy it, though your mileage may vary.
5. Event Horizon (1997) - another sci-fi/horror film. A nightmarish movie about salvage/rescue crew that goes out to salvage a ship that vanished on its maiden voyage and reappeared 7 years later missing its entire crew. This movie deals well in suspense, fear, and our ultimate terror of what evils could lie beyond the unknown.
6. The Descent (2005) - yet another movie I recommend to everyone. Set underground in an unknown cave system, and led by an all female cast, this movie is just full of anxiety, paranoia, claustrophobia, and unease. It’ll certainly make you never want to go caving.
7. The Strangers (2008) - a great take on the classic home invasion/slasher film. It boasts a really creepy atmosphere, an isolated setting, and has moments of genuine, realistic anxiety and terror (even the small things, like trying to find somewhere to hide and realizing you can’t fit, etc…) I saw this movie with my best friend back when it first came out, and it’s still one of my favorites.
8. The Others (2001) - this is not your typical ghost story. Honestly this one is hard to describe because I don’t want to give too much away about the plot. In the last few days of World War II, a woman and her two children wait in isolation, after the mysterious disappearance of their servants, for her husband/their father to return from the war. It’s only in the isolation of the house that they begin to realize the house might not be as empty as they thought it was. Very, very unique take on a ghost story. The case is wonderful, and the pacing and setting of this movie creates wonderfully creepy, unsettling fear.
9. The Witch (2016) - slow-burn horror and very setting specific, this one’s focus is on religious fear and the sexual stigmatization of girls and women. It’s slow-paced, but really great at building up a sense of unease and dread, and even the small things in it, like small rabbits in the wild, can make you feel unsettled.
10. Black Swan (2010) - not strictly a horror movie, this one is heavily psychological, and I almost want to cast it as a thriller more than anything, but some of it truly does fall into the realm of psychological horror. Paranoia, obsession, and tension, this movie is chock-full of it.
11. Funny Games (2007) - this one is actually a remake of a 1997 movie of the same name. I feel kind of bad, but I actually haven’t seen the original, but from what I hear, the two movies don’t differ much. This one is particularly unsettling because of its constant underlying feeling of authenticity. Much like The Strangers, this feels real, like it could happen to anyone, like its psychopaths could be anybody, any well-to-do strangers. It’s a long, sometimes unbearably frustrating game of physical and psychological torture; and the few moments of well-timed 4th wall breaking really up the frustration and distress.
12. 1408 (2007) - based on a Stephen King story, this film heavily relies on psychological and anxiety-building elements to create its tension. Every thing that happens in this room makes you question what it will do next, what trick will it pull, what hopes will it dash. There’s not much else to say about this one exept that… “It’s an evil fucking room.”
13. El Orfanato/The Orphanage (2007) - man this one is definitely a favorite of mine. Very unnerving and deeply emotional at the same time, this one is a very well-crafted and clever take on the haunted house/orphanage trope. It’s spooky, chilling, has some moments that will genuinely crawl under your skin (the 1-2-3 toca la pared scene always does it for me…), and features a wildly emotional ending.
14. The Babadook (2014) - this one doesn’t rely on cheap scares at all, but still features some truly creepy and unnerving moments that left me on edge. But in addition to that, this movie is about so much more than a boogeyman lurking in the shadows. Heavily psychological, this movie delves deeply into how we process loss and deal with all-consuming grief.
15. 28 Days Later (2002) - I probably don’t need to say much about this one. It’s a movie that most people have either seen or have at least heard of. But there’s a reason it’s consistently named one of the best zombie movies around. It deals with not only the horror of the zombies (and they certainly make that aspect scary on its own), but also the darkest aspects of the fall of society. We’re given a frighteningly grim look at the degradation of humanity and the darkest aspects of human nature as society falls apart.
15 seems like enough! And hopefully you’ll like some of those!! :D
(also, for those reading this, please watch Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) cause it’s amazing)

Friendly sharks, crocodiles, jaguars, whales... and incredible waves. Kiwis, Venezuelan and Cuban crew!
We had a few more guests. Mark VanAdelberg, one of the guys I used to work with at Red Bull showed up and scored a great week worth of waves with us. His surfing had improved a lot since the last time I saw him and he was loving the un-crowded waves and long rights. We had the place pretty much to ourselves again, at least early and late in the day…. Words really don’t express what it was like. Just seems a dream looking back at it now. I guess the two highlights with Mark onboard. 1/ he gets an amazing barrel and tons of great rides and then looses my go pro with all the footage on it as he wiped out in the beach break. OUCH! Second was a crocodile swimming through the lineup.. and not a little one. Everyone got out of the water pretty fast. Marks time came and went and again we found ourselves dropping of our guest in Playa Del Coco as he headed back to Panama.
The next week Elwin and I were on it .. alone again and again as good as it gets. Just the two of us surfing our asses off every day! Our next guests were very important people. Tania, my girlfriend, left her job at Red Bull and was becoming full time crew or should that read full time captain?  OMG. Also, all the way from New Zealand I have the daughter and boyfriend of one of my closest family friends growing up, neither of whom I had met or really talked to before, but I was certain that they would be of the same grain as the rest of their awesome family!
Emma and Nick had already spent time living on a little boat, living and sailing around the east coast of NZ and now they were on a surf adventure through Central America after graduating college in NZ.
The 28th arrives and Elwin and I surfed the morning hard, motored back to Playa Del Coco ( about 18 miles ) and hit the supermarket, bumping into Emma and Nick at the beach. Strong kiwi accents and tanned young, happy people jumped aboard Brisa and filled the pantry and surfboard storage rooms to capacity. We waited a little while and Tania shows up from the Liberia airport and we had our reunion on the beach in front of the tourists.
Cummon Tani, lets go before that huge thunder storm gets us!
I have to take another second or two here and say that we are in the rainy season ( the Hurricane zone this time of year, is from 10.5 North lat) which is just literally 100 yards into the beach in Ollies Point Bay, but means for the most part we don’t have to worry about tropical storms or hurricanes, however almost daily there are massive, massive, localized thunder storms. It is hard to describe exactly what it is like to be sitting on a boat in the middle of one of these things and basically if you take a hit from lightening on a boat, all your electronics are possibly fried….We had met very few cruisers on this trip and the ones we did meet were basically stuck in a marina looking for spare parts after being hit by lightening…. SCARY.
We pulled anchor and zoomed off towards Ollies again at about 4pm, just in front of another MASSIVE thunderstorm. It is only 18 miles more or less up there, so we expected to pull into the bay as night fell. The storm was indeed impressive with fork lightening from cloud to cloud and to the ocean within two or three miles of us… we had full sail and both motors pushing us at 10 knots + and we were literally just in front of this thing the whole way. The darkness following us was ominous and the wind picked up in front of it to about 25 knots…however, as was often the case, we pulled into Ollie’s Bay just in front of the beast behind us and it was beautiful… calm and protected. We anchored, ate, repaired surfboards and went to bed nice and early in preparation for our big surf day.
The forecast looked awesome, however when we got there it was small. Maybe waist to shoulder in the biggest sets, but it was clean and offshore and nice shape, so we jumped on it. Nick and Emma getting tons of waves and Elwin and I praying for bigger sets! Even when its bad its good and we had a great time until the charter boats showed up. We pulled anchor on the dingy and went back to Brisa for breakfast and to see if Tania had woken up yet.
Emma was an amazing cook, banana pancakes, crispy pizza, smoothies etc. We felt spoiled to have her onboard with us. We passed the days hiking and looking for crocodiles… the only one we found swam past us and chassed Nick and Emma into the dingy one morning.. of course leaving Elwin and I alone to enjoy the sets… We both figuring that if we hadn’t been eaten after the hundreds of hours surfing there before, that we probably wouldn’t get chomped now… After half an hour or so Emma and nick came back. Hehehheheh.
We surfed a lot, even though it wasn’t as good as it gets, or really big enough to get off of my grovelers, but it was super fun. We had to go back to Playa Del Coco in the middle of the week to get our park passes and on the way back we saw humpback whales and they put on an amazing show for us. Baby whales jumping a couple of hundred yards away from the beach while big momma supervised and flapped her tail. We saw dolphins and tons of turtles ( most of them happily making love.. slowly, they are turtles ) and fortunately this time no thunder-storms racing us back. The next days passed pretty uneventfully with happy surfers, card games, great food and the odd animal passing by. One of the highlights was all the stingrays jumping just outside the surf… they looked like they were trying to learn to fly.. not too sure why the do that.. anyone have any ideas?
Tania and I went looking for crocodiles in the estuary one day… and found three sets of jaguar footprints on the beach.. very fresh footprints I might add and four new turtle nests laid overnight.  Parrots squawked at us and I thought it would be a great idea to go look for the jaguars…so Tania walking a bit behind me just in case I did actually manage to find them and not too sure why, but she didn’t think it was such a good idea to go following them, at least not without an automatic weapon, an over watch and a garrison of Ollies troops, possibly with air support… Anyways, the tracks disappeared into the jungle by the beach. I did pick up a stick just in case they wanted to play fetch.. but eventually the jungle was too dense and we couldn’t chase them further. We pulled the dingy back into the water and went back to Brisa.
After four or five days of great, but small surf, we decided to head back to civilization, but not before visiting the rangers station and doing some snorkeling.
It was about an hour motor over and right when we anchored we saw what we thought were dolphins right by the boat. We jumped in Noisy Taco ( that’s the name of the dingy ) and zoomed over to them… but when we got there we discovered they were a bit too big for dolphins.. we are not too sure what they were, possibly pilot whales, but they were big and loved to play right by us and the dingy. Literally splashing us as the jumped and frolicked beside us.  I wanted to go swim with them… but they looked a but hungry… I am a wuss!
Elwin, Nick and Emma went for a hike to the very top of the island.. a bit further than they thought it would be I think and on a very hot and humid day in bare feet…. I picked them up at the beach after with a cold jug of water and they looked very happy to see that as they lounged in the water by the beach.
Later we grabbed our snorkels and went around a little corner and jumped in to see what we could see. This area is heavily protected and fishing is not permitted at all, so needless to say there were tons and tons and tons of fish. We saw schools and schools of them.
I have big free diving flippers and was towing the dingy and Emma was swimming beside me about three feet to my left, both of us just in front of the dingy…. I looked over my shoulder to see how she is doing and I see a very large, very friendly nurse shark swimming right at her leg about 5 feet way…. I’m glad Emma didn’t see my eyes… she might have had a heart attack. I have swum with many sharks… played with some.. been terrified by a couple…. but I had never seen a nurse shark looking like it wanted to eat someone…. I grabbed her arm and pulled past her to push the shark away with my hand… the thing had to be at least 8 or 9 feet long and very round. It took off towards the shallows to munch on some poor little fish and I was stunned by both how close it was to Emma and how quickly it took off… incredibly fast!
I couldn’t believe it had been that close to us. I was wondering if it used us a camouflage to hunt the other fish, if it was just curious, or maybe it really was a bit hungry and thought Emma looked tasty and wanted to give Nick a run for his money. Anyways.. definitely woke me up very fast!!!! Glad to say we did not see him again. After I grabbed her, Emma launched into the dingy and stuck her masked face back in the water off the side. It took her about ten minutes to get back in the water… after which she was glued to my arm.
We made it back to Playa del Coco after a little stop off in Witches Rock. Anchored and fell fast asleep.
The following day Nick and Emma wanted to go paddle boarding. We loaded up the dingy and we left to drop them about 4 miles away at a beautiful beach. On the way there we nearly ran into a humpback and her calf. We stopped and they sat there about thirty feet away from the dingy and looked at us looking at them. The little one came right beside us, within ten feet or so and popped up to breathe scaring the daylights out of all of us I think. Nick got in the water with the gopro, but visibility was almost 0 so no good in the water photos. He then jumped on the paddleboard and got super close to them. We stayed with them for half an hour or so, right in the bay in about 40 feet of water. They were the friendliest most chilled whales I have seen yet.
We went to Zi for food that night and to watch Costa Rica win a football game against the USA.  Was great food and very cold beer. We staggered back to Brisa tired little campers.
The next morning Emma and Nick were leaving. Nick back to NZ and Emma to meet her friends in Mexico to go diving. Elwin wanted to go up north to Mexico to look around and with absolutely no surf in the forecast on the way south… I think he made the right decision, jumping a bus to Puerto Escondido, where he promptly broke his favorite board in half. OHHH NOOOOO! And got some barrels so I guess it’s a payoff.
Next episode, Tania and I head back down the coast of Costa Rica to get ourselves back to Panama.
