ok but the entire "optimus and megatron vs. unicron" arc in tf armada was so iconic (spoilers). these bitches are airlifted into unicron to destroy it from the inside, then five seconds after encountering unicron's herald, sideways, megs immediately gets put into a genjutsu. sideways gives optimus the option of a) dying or b) "merging" with unicron, which, likely due to sideways's line delivery and the general framing of the situation, felt (to me) like he was an instigator on The Bachelor trying to sabotage op's choice in an upcoming rose ceremony. optimus is also kind of a slippery bastard so he literally just says nothing, like he's seriously contemplating the possibility of getting with Some Crazy Mech over saving the universe, right in front of his zonked out ex. brother knew primus was going to get him out of that messiness (aka via the intervention of the minicons). sideways is defeated and optimus kills him with his sidearm, in full view of the human kids that have tagged along for the final battle.

keep in mind that megatron has not been useful at any point since landing inside unicron. my guy decides to change all of this by declaring, minutes after unicron goes into stasis, that he NEEDS to FIGHT optimus NOW, it CANNOT wait, he NEEDS to be SATISFIED by optimus, he MISSES the way they used to FIGHT each other, he KNOWS optimus LOVES the SMELL of FIGHTING, there is NO OTHER WAY for them to deal with the negative emotions they keep generating and supplying unicron with by being alive TOGETHER, WHY won't optimus just FIGHT--

op's ensuing exasperation literally begins radiating through the viewer's screen, and after gently shooing the kids and minicons away, he suddenly tears out and throws away the matrix of leadership from his chest, declaring that he doesn't need it to FIGHT megatron. not only does this go super hard for optimus's development as a character and symbol of the autobots, it also goes super hard for megatron, in more ways than one (probably). and then they fight, and it's so entertaining and raw, and then after these two have stopped acting stupid for each other megadummy decides to sacrifice himself to save his sworn enemy. i love them so fucking much

the hollywood studios are the dumbest people alive bc now every american city with a large film/TV industry (LA, NYC, Atlanta, etc) are going to be overrun by grown up theatre kids (professional writers and actors) hanging out together in public for months on end with nothing to do but emulate newsies. whole american cities are about to look like the inside of a suburban dennys at 11 pm on a saturday after a high school musical closes. they have trapped millions of people in a hell of unimaginable proportions.

okok last thought of the day – sleepy giggles with toji as you're getting ready to doze off!!!!! it's all dark and you're both under the covers and you tell him the stupidest joke ever and he doesn't laugh but you do because it's funny and he's a grump but then he gets to just listen to you cackle over your joke and that on its own makes him crack a smile. and he's teasing you a little "oh, a comedian now, are ya?" with a grin on his face aaand then he's poking your sides a little too because he just doesn't want you to stop laughing. ever. never ever. he needs to live in this moment with you forever!!!!
