I DID run a Turbo ask blog on deviantArt back in 2012

I hadn't checked on it in ages but there are some SOLID STUPID ASS POSTS i was fucking obsessed with his ugly ass as a 14 year old (still am tbh) and I didn't realize how many goddamn pageviews this page got holy christ

There were quite a few Turbo ask blogs on dA at the time, and I was more of a crack/shitposting Turbo, so my version was off the shits insane. Eventually, the fandom died, and I moved onto Homestuck around late 2013 early 2014 and also started using tumblr more than dA! I had some great memories of shitposting, rping on the chatboards, and answering the few questions I did in the short amount of time the fandom was alive

My original tumblr username was like @im-turbo-fucking-tastic and I mostly lurked and rbed art back then! I wasn't the most confident posting art on tumblr at the time (it was new and scary and full of cool older people) and it wouldn't rly be until around 2016/2017 when the homestuck obsession came back in full swing, grabbed me by the cock and swung me into a high voltage line

On my last post, I said I made a onceler au. I now have a reference sheet of his (unofficial) design!

I had no idea what the color pallette should've been, so I js used the same colors from his og design 😭😭

I was originally going to make his skin blue, but it didn't suit right with me, so I changed it to a lighter tone of green!

One more thing.

@viktor-howl is Canon in this au! :3 This is js a little concept of his design.

I'm aware of how weird the hands look mb. (°-°).

in onceler fandom alternative universes, does the real og onceler ever appear? does he even exist in those universes?

the thing about the onceler fandom multiverse, be it in an au or not, is there’s multiple oncelers that believe they themselves are the original OG onceler

i don’t think we really recognize anyone’s take as the real og because there’s many askblogs past and present who try to be as close to canon as possible and that’d be a big fandom faux pas

unless you mean book og as in like OG-OG then yes there’s people out there who made book inspired oncelers! i don’t think their blogs are still active unfortunately (but if i’m wrong feel free to drop those @‘s into my replies here. book/1972-short oncelers are my bias and my beloveds. i love arms)

where can i find truffula flu? i cant find the original

Aw man I wish I had a solid answer but a lot of OG truffula flu was carried out on old ask blogs and many of them have been deleted by now so there's no way to read the story as it was 😔 the AU has become a puzzle with many missing pieces and you gotta make sense of it with whatever pieces are left.

Your best bet would be reading Entre, Rocky, and One-ler's blogs from the start-- a lot of big plot points for camp Entre are archived on there, and you can find a lot of archieved posts from Swag and Bitter's deleted blogs as well which are super important to the plot.

I also offer u This blog which is run by one of the mods who was in the OG truffula flu-- it has info on how the AU/infection started, info about the types of infected, and it reblogs more recent content of the AU! So it's something in handy if you wanna see some of the more recent trufflu content from the past years :^)

You can also check out the truffula flu tag on our beloved Onceler fandom historian @miru667 's blog! And Entre's mod has recently been answering asks about the AU and trufflu Entre! so if you want more fun facts about it you can check his truffula flu tag too :D

Hi, i watched the lorax for the first time since i was a kid like a week ago thanks to its recent tiktok fame with #ifithasascreentheloraxwillbeseen

as a kid i used to be obsessed with like behind the scenes dvd extras and cut content from movies and tv shows, so i always watched the extras menu stuff, and would look up them on the internet too, i still do that to this day,

after watching the lorax i decided to look and see if there was any cut scenes or maybe some finished unused animation, but instead i found a cut song called

Biggering (demo version)

i listened to it and noticed how similar it was to how bad can i be, so i dug more and more and learned all about it and the early version of the lorax

and by looking for more info on this movie because my autism brain decided to latch onto this movie, i found your page, so i have to ask, what else is there to know about biggering, and the early version of the lorax, as i still know very little about it, and since you are apparently a onceler og, what was your reaction to biggering and the story details that left with it when it was cut from the movie?

Biggering is a mysterious song, no one who worked on The Lorax has said anything about it as far as I know, so we can only analyze it on our own. It's been around since the beginning of the fandom in 2012 and was popularized by Gloria's fan animatic back then: [link] which I'm sure you've already watched by now.

Here were my thoughts about the song when someone asked me a few years ago: [link] and I still stand by them. We've since learned that the animation team didn't want to make a dark movie: [link] They believed that animated movies should be bright and colourful, or at the very least they wanted to depict the fun tone of Dr Seuss's works, so I think that gives us a clue as to why they decided not to use Biggering.

We can only imagine what the film would've been like if it had a darker and more serious vibe. Fortunately, the fandom has provided many, many, many fanworks to make up for it. 😎 And we'll always have the perfection of the 1972 Lorax movie anyway; I hope you've seen it already too but just in case you haven't: [link]

i made this blog 1) because the current mod of tea and secrets can be judgemental and unfair to submissions, and i was tired of seeing it. and 2) i love gossip and drama, and love being a messy bitch. if you want to support the og, go for it! idgaf.

How did you manage to stay dedicated to one fandom all these years?

1) There was never anything strong enough to pull me completely away from the fandom, like nothing has compared to how happy, excited and obsessed I was in 2012, though you could say I've shifted to just stuff surrounding my Audrey oc now, but I suppose that's still within fandom boundaries.

2) I've had a lot of little shifts over the years though, because the fandom kept creating new AUs, askblogs and content. 2012 had Camp weehawken au, thneedville high au, truffula flu au, the latter two kept going in 2013, and thneedville high (deoncelerized to Thornville high) kept going through to 2014, then 2015 saw a fandom revival and many new askblogs were made, then camp weehawken came back full swing in 2016 and 2017 and I participated this time with my first actual rp blog (lunchladymiru), then in 2018 truffula flu got revived in a small discord community so I joined that and started developing my Audrey oc more, then the discord server moved to beach au in 2019, etc. And within all those years I haven't even mentioned the side projects I completed including my Audrey askblog, my fandom newspaper Thneed Times, my 7212 archive blog, my beach au archive blog, all of which kept me busy. So you see, there was always something to do.

3) Another follow-up to my first point: fandom culture in general has changed over the years imo, making it hard to feel a sense of genuine community anywhere anymore and therefore hard to go as deep into a new fandom as I did for the onceler fandom. A lot more minors now, a lot of cancel culture, a lot more ironic memeing. If I watched the lorax for the first time right now I wouldn't join the fandom because I've grown out of fandoms in general. I joined the onceler fandom in 2012 very naturally because it was a prime time for ppl to be cringe and free.

4) I'm familiar with it and it's just what I know. I don't have to even stay a fan of it. I can see a fanart from 2012 that has been stolen and reposted somewhere without credit and still be able to tell you "Oh my friend [Onceling A] drew that for their friend [Onceling B]! It was to cheer them up after [some event that had upset them]" like I can't really get away from the fandom even if I want to? It's just ingrained in me by now. Onceler fandom is my culture.

5) Friends. The most important contributing factor of how and why I'm still here. People outside the fandom (or people who were only in the fandom for less than a few months) will make analyses saying how oncest and askblog shipping kept the fandom going. They're wrong. It was friendships and the longing for friendships. I wouldn't have lasted if not for adding fandom friends to skype, and later to discord, and talking to them everyday, creating together and supporting each other thru good times and bad. I'm not the only OG fan who is still here.

6) I'm just a dedicated person.
