My art for this year's OFMD Reverse Big Bang!

Siren!Izzy has always lived in my head rent free, even before s2 when we finally got Con's lovely singing voice on screen, so I just had to make something for it— with a Stizzy focused Steddyhands twist! I'm a sucker for a secret mermaid saving their reluctantly beloved sailor lol.

The lovely @acesaru was the best partner I could have asked for, a talented writer and lovely all around person to collab with! They perfectly capture Izzy's character voice and the banter between Stede and he is an absolute delight lol. The fic they wrote inspired by my art (and many many discord ramblings together lol) is amazing and the second chapter featuring my art drops today!

I started posting my OFMD Reverse Big Bang this week! In collaboration with @ramsranch, welcome to our modern farm AU! We hope everyone loves these guys as much as we do. 2 chapters posted currently, total of 7, posting every other day for the rest of the month! 🍓💕

SUMMARY:

Stede grew up on a farmhouse with his parents—his mother’s pride and joy—but after she passed, his father saw no reason to “waste their lives” and relocated them to a larger city. Now, decades later, his father has carked it and Stede is finally free to seek out the life he wants. With his divorce to Mary set in motion, Stede moves back to the same farm, hoping to start over.

Problem is, he certainly has no idea how to be a proper farmer.

Fortunately for him, his neighbor Ed Teach is also a farmer, and an incredibly experienced one at that. Ed seems more than happy to show him the ropes, as well as offer him genuine friendship. Stede doesn’t expect to also fall for him like a ton of bricks. Now, not only does he have to figure out how to successfully navigate his new life, but also grapple with the feelings whirling inside of him without chasing Ed away.

Here is the gorgeous piece of art that I had the honor of writing a Reverse Big Bang fic for! It was great fun, and I learned A LOT about co-writing and cooperation in general. And I'm quite proud of how the story turned out. (I planned to do 15-20k and it ended up being almost 40k lol)

I'm so lucky that @strawberryxfieldz picked my kid!fic inspired idea for Ed and Stede potentially having met as kiddos to write a lovely piece for them - and I was so inspired by the outline notes that I ended up making a three panel transition piece of a scene, too!

And then I got to actually read their stunning, lovely, fluffy, adorable fic and bask in the serotonin loves ~ it's soft in the best of ways 🥹👉🏻👈🏻❤️
