she pauses, her cup of tea held in midair, before slowly turning to look at you. it had slipped out instinctively as you were tending to the books, a remnant of your facility days. Binah watches you closely, your deft hands flipping through the pages. you don't even seemed to have noticed your words. with a snap you close the novel in your hands and give Binah a friendly wave before hurrying off into the crowd of librarians to tend to the rest of your duties. there's much to be done, even as an assistant. you're the ones always getting scuffed up in battle. so for your coworkers you try to keep areas stocked with small treats to enjoy after each reception

Binah's gaze tracks your movements as you go. her heart feels oddly empty

it comes out by accident again, when you're alone. Binah's hand trembles minutely, once, and she puts her teacup down to rise to her feet. a firm, careful hand settles on your shoulder. your Patron Librarian stares down at you, eyes dark gemstones against the soft light of the Floor of Philosophy. she lifts you to your feet as well so she can look you in the eyes, fingers reaching up to trail against the contours of your face. it's softer than you've ever felt. Binah looks at you with the barest hint of desperation

"Binah."

The logbook is soooo funny, what the hell is happening there? I’m not even talking about the lore implications, I just mean why does it exist and why are the prompts in the book like that?

Like, pages are covered in blood, it’s a children’s book. It’s got spooky writing about how the writer is scared and dead and can’t see and it’s an activity book for kids. Who is buying their children activity books that contains a section where they write their end of life preferences??

It also has that FNaF style of humor where it’s like “Thought about how you aren’t doing what you wanted with your life? Write it here!” Or “Make a list if your favorite things and also consider making this page in to a legally binding will!” Which is all stuff that lots of kids probably wouldn’t think was funny. (Edited to add because I just had to say this ig) It’s a very tired employee style of humor, not a lot of 7 year olds will relate.

But it’s definitely for kids, because if it was for adults or older fans then it would be set up like an actual employee handbook and not an activity book?? Whose idea was this thing? Why is it so funny???
