Gonna take a chance to talk a bit about my Zhaitan scion Thanatos!

Even though it might not seem to be much in addition to his role as the now Elder Dragon of Death (as of EoD), Thanatos has been known to seek out restless spirits and try to aid them into crossing over. He's also been known to seek out mortals on death's door in his charr form and will stay with them, providing them comfort until the end.

While there is still quite some work to do in Orr since Zhaitan's fall, Thanatos hopes to use his new role to perhaps help break the Foefire and grant the Ghosts of Ascalon the final rest that has been denied to them for so long.

I must create a Thanatos shard for every reflection we know of so I am cooking one for Alexandria.

All Thanatos shards have to be cat-adjacent for lore purposes (he invented cats) and I've used miqote twice now so; she's a hrothgar that works in that tarot card shop in Solution 9, has face scars like brightheart warrior cats where like her whole fur is ripped off. I'm not super clear one what the Alexandrian naming conventions are because they said rocks but then some of them have like, just pretty word names for now her name is Fortuna.

Also inb4 "but if all Thanatos shards have to be cats why is one of them an elezen"; triangle ear.

Icarus

I think Icarus would be a cat. Particularly and orange tabby. I think it's a mix of the 'tism and the general lack of braincells

Andromeda

Andromeda would most definitely be a dog. Xochi I'd describe as more of a golden retriever, but I see Andromeda as like a Rottweiler. tough looking and scary as hell, but one of the most caring and loving people underneath (Rotty's are amazing btw)

God, do I even have any true villains?

Craft is more of an anti-hero type. Mercenary who (accidentally) murdered his fiancee and never financially emotionally recovered from it. Very much a "will do whatever the job requires with little-to-no emotional involvement" kinda guy, but I wouldn't class him as a villain per se.

Then there's Thanatos (who I'd likely rename if I ever revived his story). He's more like a classic villain, complete with little creature familiar/minion. He literally has his creature steal peoples' souls in order to perform powerful magic with them, resulting in several deaths. I ended up wanting to make him more sympathetic, but tbh he really is a little irredeemable lol

Man, no wonder my stories always lack a true Plot :tm:
