Rhona MLP OC (REDESIGN)

Here is the redesign of my MLP, renamed Rhona instead of ShadowSilver, and couldn't name her Rose LaBelle, because there is another MLP canon character Rose as well, and I really don't want to have my OC having the same name as the canon has. It was difficult finding good names, so Rhona is the best choice right now ^^;

But here is her new (possibly changing it later in a new redraw ^^;) description!:

Abilities: Rhona was born with the magic of beauty, love, and can create roses and floral objects to represent the beauty of the kingdom and represent the beings of each ponies, unicorns, etc. She can also using light and magic beauty spells to fight enemies by releasing lore spells to distract them before releasing her magic spells to defeat them.

Weakness: dark power from Saiya is her only weakness, and basically other dark magic from the kingdom of Antropas. Couldn't resist the smell of coffee, chicken tenders, and couldn't resist seeing sweets she loves.

Rhona is an OC character from My Little Pony and MLP: Next Gen I have created before changing the name to make it more fitting, and in a new design as an Alicorn like her two sisters.

Rhona is born in Equestria, after Celestia and Luna, and was to be the last sister to be taught royalty, magic and responsibilities before becoming the next Queen of Equestria. Since Celestia can bring sunshine to create day, and Luna bringing the moon to create night, Rhona has the magic to release beauty to all the land, bringing balance as well. Until one day, years before Luna’s outrage and before becoming Nightmare Moon, the Dark Soldiers invaded the castle. The Dark King (who is unnamed at this time) of the dark kingdom Antropas, which the kingdom was full of dark magic and thunder, who wanted to take the sister's magic to use it for himself and his daughter Saiya to recreate Antropas into a divine kingdom, as if it would destroy Equestria, although he may not know the power of friendship and balance of nature. Celestia, Luna, and Rhona refused to give their magic to him. The Dark King, in his anger, made a decision to kidnap Rhona and made haste to Antropas to force her to give her magic to him as he ordered his soldiers to execute Celestia and Luna. The sisters sended the royal guards to defeat the Dark Soldiers as they chased the king, who was holding Rhona hostage. Many brave guards had enough strengths to fight him in order to save the princess. To their success, the king fell out of failure and losses to fight, but took it at a fatal turn for him. After the Dark King’s death, the royal guards soon learn that Rhona was missing. At what they thought, they had feared and believed that she died as well after the fight, and failed to rescue her, although they didn't know that Rhona was still alive. Celestia and Luna were both overcome by grief and sadness over their sister's disappearance after they were told she was dead. But Rhona was still alive as she was lost in the fields, until one unusual guard of a different kingdom finds her. Rhona was brought home into the kingdom of Starlunaria, a peaceful land in the sky Brunarr, the king had decided to take Rhona as his daughter, as she became the princess of the kingdom she had starting to love. But as time went by, Rhona begins her journey to Equestria to find answers who she really is, although doesn't know that Saiya had plotted to take Rhona's magic, promising her vengeance after her father's death and promising him to make Antropas greater and destroy Equestria.

I know the background story isn't as easy to manage, but I think it's okay. ^^;

Starlunaria, Antropas, Brunarr and Saiya are my fanbase characters and locations, which I couldn't draw soon (especially redrawing Saiya since I didn't like how she looked and how her description is to begin with first lol). I was thinking either a MLP fanfic or a comic ^^;. I am still planning on a Final Fantasy VII fanfic, which I really need to be getting into soon unless other stuff happens, so a MLP comic could be sided to make ^^

8. Do you have any OC family trees?

I do, from several years ago, but I can't remember where I put them. I could recreate them, tho.

9. Favourite OC?

Since I already answered this, I'll pick another favourite, Tom. His insecurity and struggles to unlearn habitual misogyny have captivated me because my boy is TRYING he's DOING HIS BEST at separating from the poor company that influenced him for years. He slips up, but he's still trying his best. Overall he's a very relatable character.

11. Sum up one or more of your wips!

I wouldn't exactly call this a wip because I haven't seriously worked on it for years, only bouncing around my brain a bit, but: Patience, the dear beloved knitting oc. I love her and her story and may even find it in me to write it during nanowrimo this year, if I haven't properly planned out any of the other ones I want to get written.

Patience copes with life by hiding away in a small sandstone cave a lot of the time, halfway up a mountain. She knits a Lot, so much so that she has to sell her pieces just so she can afford to buy enough yarn to knit with. This upsets her, but hey, she copes. She's really quite contented with her life, until one day she hears the rattling of *her* rope-and-stick ladder that *nobody else* uses, and a head pops up above the ledge. Unfortunately, its owner is trying to be friendly. Even more unfortunately, due to a combination of circumstances it is sprung on her completely without notice that this is her new adopted sister, Rhona. Patience does not like this. Patience Does Not Like This. However, she does her best to try and work with her, but Rhona just doesn't vibe very well, really. Time passes and her parents are at the end of their rope and it seems that Rhona will have to go elsewhere, though where they don't know. I completely steal a plot point from Dear Enemy in which Patience saves Rhona from a fire, in the process breaking several bones. While she recuperates, Rhona comes to understand her more and learn how Patience works and vibes and how they ought to interact, better. By the time Patience is well enough to go back to the cave as previously - having to overcome her newfound fear of heights, with Rhona's support - they are good friends and enjoy one another's company. In the final scene, Patience is teaching Rhona how to knit.

17. What are some tropes and character dynamics found in your wips?

The Sudden Realisation, in romance; I do not know how romance develops, or how feelings grow. If I have a POV character, either they're Suddenly Aware, or it's an already established thing. (Examples of the Suddenly Aware include both Tom and Adira - he realising he's not actually interested in another girl romantically, she by seeing a photo of them asleep together and going oh - and the established thing would be Paddy and Lilac.) I love the grumpy one/sunshiney one as a trope, and to some extent that's represented in Vaniah and Anneka's relationship, and certainly with Neil and Faith. (Spoilers!! Faith takes a while to be introduced and that relationship certainly surprises the other characters.) I can't think of any other tropes or dynamics off the top of my head rn, but if anyone wishes to pick them up in my writing and ask specifically about it, I'll answer, lol.

DEEP, DARK BLUE | RHONA IRVINE | MASTERS OF THE AIR

Summary: After the mission at Trondheim, Rhona reflects on her past. This mostly serves as some sort of character study and sheds light on her background.

Warnings: Depiction of self attempted drowning. Bruises. Allusion to mental health issues.

Word count: a bit over 1100

Note: Wrote a little blurb. If you squint, there is a bit of Rhona x Crosby. Which will eventually happen anyway. Also a big thanks to my dear friend for helping me out with some of the dialogue. Please tell me what you think of this little blurb <3 Feeling a bit nervous posting this. It's partially based on this song by Eivør, the song is Faroese.

24 JULY, 1943, 20:17

Four in, hold four, four out, hold four… All that she saw was still a bright, blinding yellow blanket, covering the sight in front of her. Four in, hold four, four out, hold four… The sun had begun setting, compromising her sight. Slowly, however, the blinding yellow got exchanged for a reddish hue as she looked down at the inside of her hand.

Blinking, Rhona pressed the tips of her middle and ring finger into the reddened skin, her expression turned into a grimace and she let out a soft sigh. The bruise stretched out from the bottom of her thumb straight down towards her wrist. She was sure that by tomorrow, the red would have morphed into a deep, dark blue.

The same deep, dark blue the sea looked like whenever she’d wander out of the house in the gloomy autumns of Rosehearty, back when she was a child. The same deep, dark blue that tried to take her in one of those autumns, and she had almost let it. She had let the icy cold water pierce the skin of her feet, then her legs, until she felt herself swept up by the waves, surrounded by that deep, dark blue. It made her feel small, she was small, floating here in the North Sea. It wouldn’t be long until the surface would be traded for the bottom of the sea. An even darker blue. Four in, hold four, four out, hold four… After a bit, the cold didn’t hurt anymore. But the surface never traded itself for the bottom, instead, it traded itself for the feeling of her father’s arms, dragging her out of the cold, salt water, down onto the beach. The sound of the waves hitting the sides of her head traded itself for the despaired cry of her father. “Rhona! Rhona! What in God’s name did you do?” 

Her teeth chattered too intensely to muster up a response. Instead, she let herself fall limp against her father’s chest and watched the waves crash onto the beach, faintly hearing her father call out her name countless of times, as if he was begging to a God they didn’t believe in to not let her go. 

Years later, above that same North Sea, it wasn’t her father calling out her name as she watched the deep, dark blue waves, it was Captain Brady; “Ro, tell me the goddamn heading!”

She shivered, scrambling to look at the map. It wasn’t waves she heard this time either, it was the booming violence of the flak exploding all around their plane, and it was Brady’s distressed voice. “Ro, I swear to God, look at the map and-” he was cut off by the plane violently shaking, dropping in altitude. It caused Rhona to fall forwards, her hand getting stuck between the surface she had her maps on, and her own body. A loud groan escaped her lips. “Ah, God- Yes, let me-” she straightened out the map, ignoring the pulsating in her hand. Got it. “Navigator to command pilot, you are supposed to head towards 244 now!” it was nearly impossible to hear herself over the sounds of the flak explosions.

“Understood, you all okay back there?” Rhona’s eyes darted to Hamilton next to her, who showed her a thumbs up and a frantic nod. She gave him a soft nod back, “yeah Cap, just a few bruises” she yelled, slouching back. As the flak stopped, she had a brief moment to turn back to the pulsating in her hand. She felt the muscles underneath her thumb cramp together, the skin was beginning to turn red. The cold air this high up didn’t help with the pain, feeling like a thousand tiny bullets of ice piercing her skin. Just like the seawater in Rosehearty. Four in, hold four, four out, hold four… It would be over soon.

“Ro,” she felt a kick against the bottom of her boot, looking up from the view of her bruised hand, the faces of Payne and Crosby became visible. “You’re still up in the air in your head, huh?” she heard Crosby ask. Rhona bit the inside of her lip, pointing the palm of her hand outwards to the two men standing above her, tipping her head back against the wall of the building she was sitting against. “Got a nice little reminder with me,” she said, waving her palm and sucking in a breath as the bruised muscles ached, swallowing the lump in her throat. Payne let out an empathetic “ouch.” Rhona nodded, letting out a dry chuckle, watching Crosby crouch down, settling himself next to her as he too let his head lean back against the wall.

“Ah, it’ll go away soon enough, we’re not made of glass”, Payne chuckled. Rhona squinted, trying to block out the sun so she could make out Payne’s face, the crinkles next to his eyes contrasting against his skin. He sniffed, “speaking of, Egan invited Croz to that pub for a few glasses, he’s paying, maybe you should go too.” He kicked up some dirt with his boot, next to her, she could hear Crosby open his mouth to speak, letting out a soft laugh first, “well, Bubbles, you should be in bed by now again, your allocated walk is over,” Crosby mocked. She watched the man in front of her roll his eyes, but walk off after giving them both a soft smile and a nod. Rhona let out a laugh, rolling her head to the side so Crosby’s face became visible “you’ve just banished the man to bed.” He nodded, his smile slowly fading as his eyes fell on her bruised hand “Rough ride, huh?” Rhona followed his eyes, her fingertips pressing into her reddened skin again. As if she was making sure the bruise was still there. The red taunting her, like it was saying ‘I’ll turn blue soon, the shade of blue you hate.’ 

She felt a nudge against her knee, “Ro,” sheepishly, she looked up at Crosby again. His expression was studious, as if he was trying to decipher codes. “You’re not just up in the sky still, huh?” his voice had an edge of worry to it, as if he could read her thoughts. He couldn't know. He shouldn't know. She forced her eyes away from his, nearly unable to stop the tears blur her vision. To avoid his gaze, she laid down her head on his shoulder, her body limply curling against his. Deciding on a soft hum in reply, she stayed silent otherwise. Closing her eyes. She was indeed not just up in the sky over the North Sea. She was also nine years old again, letting the sea take her. The piercing pain in her hand serving as a reminder of the icy cold water engulfing her.

@bzjohndory created an au where the human brozone brothers work and own a diner together. They mentioned that Rhona, normally a trusty armadillo van, would be a dog and my brain went to her being a bernese mountain dog.

My hc is that she's a big cuddly dog that doesn't always remember shes huge, she's great at being there for jd emotionally and physically as she can be protective of him and his brothers when need be. I of course had to draw jd being the strong man that he is picking up Rhonda for a picture.

Rhonda can't be left home alone because she breaks out of her crate then proceeds to destroy things around the bros home. To fix this Jd sent Rhonda at the insistence of his brothers to a doggy daycare/training facility. Her personal trainer is my troll oc Raina, whenever Rhonda is at the day care Raina becomes her favorite person.

After taking Rhonda to the Rainbow Bridge daycare for a while he started to form a friendship with Raina as she would often help him learn how to keep up Rhondas training at home. Raina will often visit the diner when she isn't working or if she just wants to get a quick coffee in before work. She's mostly there just to watch jd work though, she has a crush on him but doesn't want to ruin their friendship.
