Illness and Injury Writing Prompts
Send in an emoji prompt and some characters and I’ll write something for them!
😷 - to have one character come down with an illness and another to find them hiding it.
💊 - to have one character try and give medication to another character, only for it to be refused.
🤕 - for one character to have come down with a cold but they’re being very dramatic about it.
😵‍💫 - one character is suffering dizzy spells!
🤧 - one character cannot stop sneezing!
😶‍🌫️ - for one character to run a bath for the other!
😪 - one character finds the other asleep on the sofa, tissues strewn about and looking sick.
🧑‍⚕️ - for characters to see each other in the doctors surgery.
🦵 - for one character to help the other limp their way into A&E following a silly accident that should have been harmless. They may be arguing.
🏥 - for the characters to see each other at hospital when they said they were somewhere else!
🤒 - for one character to find the other with a raging fever!
🫂 - for one character to comfort the other during an illness.
🚑 - for one character to be rushed into Hospital.
🩸 - for a character to reveal having a blood test scares them.
🩻 - for a character to have an X-ray (specify whether results are good or bad).
🧸 - for an older character to take care of a child character.
🪦 - for a character to receive grave news regarding a loved one.
Feel free to add more to this list in a reblog, the more input the wider the choices.
Some are lighter than the others, but it’s nice to have a mix in there!

Taylor
Questions from this post!
What motivates your character? Taylor is mainly motivated by the need to see everyone around her being happy and fulfilled. However, she doesn't let that need overpower her own needs, and she makes sure to fill her cup before pouring into others. She's also motivated by the desire to find a partner/Dom who fits well with her and who she can build a full, healthy relationship with. She really wants a family one day, so most of what she does also feeds into paving the way for that want to become a reality.
How does the public view them? Most people view Taylor as being a perpetual optimist, which she usually is. She's also viewed as being a talented English teacher who cares deeply about her students. Taylor is also viewed as being a good and competent sub, someone who is both fun and safe to play with in either casual/one-time or ongoing dynamics.
Is your character an optimist or pessimist? Taylor is definitely an optimist. She tries to see the good in people and situations, even when there doesn't seem to be much good to be found. But she's not blindly optimistic, she does know that the world really sucks sometimes and that some people are dealt really shitty hands, but she does her best to make the world around her a little better for herself and everyone in it.
Does your character care about their reputation and/or how others perceive them? Taylor does care about her reputation, probably more than she reasonably should. In her professional life as a teacher, she wants to be perceived as someone who cares about her students and the girls she coaches in volleyball, as well as she wants to be seen as both a competent teacher and coach. In her personal life as a friend and daughter, she wants to be seen as someone who's dependable and caring. In her private life as a sub, she wants to be seen as a reliable educator in the local kink community, and as someone who is safe to play with.
Is your character more of a family or friends person? Taylor tends to balance her friend-family life pretty well. She loves her family (she and her parents call themselves the three musketeers, and she gets on well with most of her extended family as well), and she loves her friends (both her kinky and non-kinky friends. she tends to keep the two separate, for the most part).
What, if anything, sticks out about their appearance? The only thing that really sticks out about Taylor's appearance is that she's petite, about 5'4" and 125 lbs. She also has pale blonde hair, but there's nothing that super sticks out about her appearance.
Is your character good with kids? Taylor is very good with kids, both with the kids (high school students) that she teaches and coaches, and also her friends' kids (namely Thomas and Amanda's child(ren)).
What are some internal obstacles that your character has to overcome? Taylor frequently has to overcome her anxiety in order to live her life as fully as she wants to. It took her a while to get into the kink community, mostly because she kept feeling anxious about being an "outsider" trying to "break into" the community. But she's on medication and in therapy to try to curb the worst of it.
What emotion does your character feel most frequently? Before the story proper, Taylor experiences a lot of anxiety and worry about various things. During the story, she experiences a lot of happiness and contentment, especially once she and Elliot start dating.
If your character is an antagonist or something of the like, do they self-justify their actions? If so, how? Taylor isn't an antagonist, and she rarely does things that could be considered questionable. But she does try to rationalize a lot of her behaviors, even the 'normal' ones, mostly because of her anxiety.
What events in their past helped shape and influence them into who they are today? Well, there's a lot. There's her education, graduating from high school and undergrad and then eventually going on to get her masters and one day her PhD in education. There's also her entry into the local kink community, and meeting Thomas, who she had her first BDSM scene with. There's her last relationship before she meets Ben and then Elliot, which wasn't a great relationship for her. She doesn't really have a whole lot of negative experiences that have shaped her life, she knows that she's very lucky to have been shaped by good experiences.
What are some of your character's pet peeves? Taylor is a stickler for spelling and grammar, especially as an English teacher. She also can't stand people chewing with their mouths open, or when people are jerks to kids or animals or are jerks to anyone, really.
Okay, I hit the text character limit with this post so I need to do another one for Taylor. I'll probably have to do multiple posts for all of my characters, oops.

Some Tips for writing internal conflict
Wanting Two Things at Once Imagine your character really wants to chase after something big, like a dream school, a major opportunity, or maybe even moving to a new city. But at the same time, they’re terrified of leaving behind everything they’ve ever known. Or maybe they’re in a relationship that’s holding them back, but they can’t bring themselves to let go. Show them getting pulled in two directions, torn between their ambition and their fear of losing the people or places that ground them.
Right vs. Wrong Sometimes, your character will know deep down what the right choice is, but it’s the most difficult one to make. Like, maybe they see someone getting bullied and know they should stand up, but doing so could make them a target. Or maybe they have to decide between helping a friend and doing something that could ruin their own future. These moral dilemmas create intense internal conflict because it forces them to question who they are and what they stand for.
Doubting Themselves We all have moments where we wonder if we’re enough, smart enough, strong enough, brave enough. Let your character wrestle with that same doubt. Maybe they’re the kid who has always been told they’re special, but now they’re in a place where everyone is just as good, and they start to wonder if they even belong. Or maybe they’ve been through something tough, and they’re not sure if they can bounce back. These moments of insecurity make your character feel human, like they’re trying to figure it all out, just like everyone else.
Dreams vs. Fears Show your character dreaming big but getting frozen by their own fears. It’s like wanting to ask someone out but being terrified of rejection, or wanting to move away for college but being scared to leave home. Let them imagine all the things that could go wrong , that moment when fear makes them doubt if they should even try. But also show their desire burning just as strong, making it impossible to ignore. That’s the heart of internal conflict: they’re stuck between wanting something so bad and being afraid of what it’ll cost to go after it.
Beliefs Being Challenged As your character grows, the world will start challenging their beliefs. Maybe they grew up in a family that drilled certain values into them, and now they’re meeting people who see things differently. Or maybe they’re experiencing something new, and it’s changing their perspective. It’s like when you think you have everything figured out, and then life throws something at you that makes you go, "Wait, maybe I’ve been wrong this whole time." This kind of internal conflict is powerful because it forces the character to question who they’ve always been.
Keeping Secrets If your character is hiding something, like a mistake they made, feelings they’re afraid to admit, or a truth they don’t want to face, that secret becomes a huge part of their internal conflict. The fear of being found out or of dealing with the consequences can create a constant pressure in their mind. Maybe they’re scared they’ll lose their friends if the truth comes out, or maybe they’re dealing with guilt they can’t shake. The tension comes from their battle to keep it hidden while knowing they can’t keep it locked away forever.
Pressure from Everyone Your character might feel like they’re trapped between what they want for themselves and what everyone else wants from them. It could be pressure from parents, who have their whole future planned out, or pressure from friends to fit in or follow the crowd. Maybe your character wants to be true to themselves, but they’re scared of disappointing people or standing out too much. This kind of internal conflict is super relatable because, at some point, everyone feels like they’re stuck between living for themselves and living for others.
Fear of Failing Sometimes the biggest obstacle isn’t the external challenge but the internal fear of failure. Your character might have big dreams, but they’re paralyzed by the thought of messing up. Whether it’s competing in a sport, performing on stage, or just trying something new, the fear of not being good enough can be overwhelming. Maybe they’re afraid that if they fail, everyone will see them differently, or worse, that they’ll see themselves differently. The internal conflict comes from their desire to succeed battling against their crippling fear of failure.

— slow burn for friends to lovers˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚
aaaa slow burn man, enjoy LOL
delicate hugs, but they linger longer the more both of you do it
"why are you staring? is there something on my face?"
gently pushing their hair behind their ear to see their face better
handholding where your hands are intertwined tightly with theirs
late night calls where one of you accidentally falls asleep
them reading you like an open book, especially knowing when you're going through difficult times
"i can't imagine who i'd be without you in my life"
wanting more physical affection yet you don't want to overstep
yearning to constantly be in their presence
platonic sleepovers that somehow ends up with you waking up with their arms around you
buying matching jewelry, but it doesn't mean anything right?
getting extremely worried when they get physically hurt
memorizing their coffee/tea order so you can buy it for them every morning
"you're so oblivious aren't you"
accidentally staring a bit too long at their lips
watching your favorite movies together
singing your favorite love song to them as if you are truly dedicating the song to them
"you drew stars around my scars" (cardigan by taylor swift)
feeling like your complete self when you're with them
sharing each other's clothes (especially hoodies)
hearing rumors that they have a crush and desperately hoping that it is you who they are crushing on
the urge to confess to them whenever you see them, yet you fear losing them
"what are we to each other?"

Phrases/Actions that make me drop to my knees, ready to submit.
All 18+ Prompts- Please tag me if you use any cause I wanna read filth :)
“That’s it, fuck, that’s a good girl/boy.”
“You’re mine.”
“Is this ok?” As they stare up at you from in between your legs. (Consent is so fucking hot and important)
“Do that again- Shit, just like that, right there.”
Ghosting their lips against yours before pulling back with a smug smirk, making you chase them desperately.
Dragging one of their nails down the side of your neck and then middle of your chest.
“Please mark me, I want everyone to know I’m yours.”
“Spread your legs baby, that’s it… Wider.”
When they murmur pure filth into your ear while they’re touching you.
Fucking someone so good that they struggle to kiss you back.
Hands desperately clutching at one another, gasping into each other’s mouths as if you were starved of one another.
“On your knees.” While their fingers thread through your hair, guiding you onto the floor.
Smirking into a kiss/against your skin when you whimper at their touch.
“My little slut to ruin.”
Interlocking your fingers above your head while making out passionately.
Pulling them closer by the collar of their shirt or their belt.
“I’m yours. Only yours.”
“You’re in no position to tease baby, remember that.”
Soft, lazy kisses and innocent touches that turn bolder and more sinful as you just can’t resist each other.
“This is wrong.” “So wrong.” While continuing to pull at each others clothes, mind fogged with nothing but lust and arousal.

Ben
Questions from this post!
What motivates your character? Ben is motivated by a lot of things. He's motivated by his love of craft beer, and his love of BDSM, as well as a general kindness for everyone because of the grief he's still experiencing after his mom's death. He's also motivated by a want to reconnect with his father, who left Ben and his mother when Ben was young.
How does the public view them? (Doesn't have to be anything major, it could be classmates, friends, strangers in the park, etc.) People probably view Ben as having a little bit of a "bad boy" aesthetic, but he's really a boy next door type with a Dominant streak.
Is your character an optimist or pessimist? For all that Ben probably could be a pessimist, he tends to have a glass-half-full point of view on most things.
Does your character care about their reputation and/or how others perceive them? The only things Ben really cares about is that the local kink community thinks he's a good person and Dom, that his friends think he's a good and reliable friend, and that he's known as being a qualified professional in his work life.
Is your character more of a family or friends person? Ben doesn't really have much in the way of family after his dad left when he was young and his mom died when he was 19 or 20. He might have a couple of distant uncles, but that's it. Ben has always had great friends, though. He's always been close with his best friend and fellow Dom, Elliot, and his mentor and another fellow Dom, Robert.
What, if anything, sticks out about their appearance? Ben is tall, probably around 6' tall. He also tends to wear a lot of leather jackets, he has several different styles, so he tends to have a "bad boy"/biker dude aesthetic. Besides that he's rather ordinary looking.
Is your character good with kids? Ben hasn't really been around many kids in his adult life, so he doesn't know. He does meet Thomas and Amanda's kid(s) though, and they seem to like him well enough, and everyone seems to think that he'd be good with kids.
What are some internal obstacles that your character has to overcome? Ben has anxiety, social anxiety, which makes it really hard to run a brewery, even though he does an amazing job with it, even the social aspect. So he's always working on that. And he's still working through the grief of his mom's death. It's been ten years, and anniversaries of her death have always been hard for him.
What emotion does your character feel most frequently? An emotion that Ben has felt most frequently over the past 10 years is grief. He's in therapy about it, and has been for most of the past 10 years, but it still knocks him down sometimes, especially on the anniversary of his mom's death.
If your character is an antagonist or something of the like, do they self-justify their actions? If so, how? Ben isn't an antagonist, but when he was first grieving his mom's death, he did/said a lot of shitty things to people, and he tried to use his grief to justify said shitty actions. Luckily he met Elliot and Robert, who made him realize that just because he's grieving doesn't mean he gets a free pass to be shitty to other people.
What events in their past helped shape and influence them into who they are today? Ben's dad left him and his mom when he was young, about 5 or 6 years old. It was Ben's birthday, and his dad left to "go get milk" to go with his birthday cake or something and he just never came back. Ben's parents went through a formal divorce process, but Ben personally never saw his dad again until he was 31 or 32. Also, Ben's mom died when he was 19 or 20, so that grief definitely changed him, as he was definitely a mama's boy. Meeting Elliot and Robert and getting into the local kink community also changed him, definitely for the better, because he learned so much about himself and how to express those parts of himself.
What are some of your character's pet peeves? Ben gets peeved by people talking over other people and ignoring what others have to say, as well as when people are jerks to other people. He also hates when people don't use their blinkers while driving.
Who is the closest person to your character? Elliot and Robert.
How did they become so close? Robert was Elliot and Ben's mentor when they were first getting into BDSM and the local kink community. Elliot and Robert helped Ben get his act together after his mom died, and helped turn him into the man and Dom he is today by being super supportive of him and stepping in as the family he didn't really have.
What habits does your character have? Good habits - Ben works out regularly, partially because of the physical benefits, but also because of the mental health benefits. Ben is a bit of a neat freak, and he keeps his space very clean and tidy as a result.
What is your character's relationship with their family? Ben doesn't have much in the way of blood family. His dad left when he was young and Ben doesn't try to seek him out until he's in his early 30s, when he feels like he's finally over his anger at his dad for leaving him and his mom. Ben tries to repair that relationship, but then he comes to realize his dad is just an asshole and he doesn't want him involved in his life. Ben's friends, especially Elliot, Robert, and eventually Taylor, and even more eventually Drew, become his family.
Overall, is there anything special or peculiar about your character compared to others in your story? Not really. Ben is really the only character who's covered in tattoos, or mostly covered.
Who/what comforts your character? Elliot and Robert and usually the first people Ben turns to for comfort, but he's also found that a good cry, ice cream, and reruns of his favorite tv show/movie also do the trick.
Summarize your character's goals in one sentence. Ben wants to be the best friend, craft beer guy, and Dom that he can be.
Who's in the way of those goals? The only one who gets in the way of Ben's goals is Ben himself. He has a hard time believing he deserves the good things in life, even though his friends are eventually able to convince him that he does deserve those things.
What is your character's relationship with their emotions? Ben has a good relationship with his emotions now, but it wasn't always that way. He struggled with his grief a lot, and sometimes on anniversaries it still overwhelms him. But for the most part he's pretty balanced, emotions-wise.
What regrets do they have, if any? (From any part of the story, not just exposition.) Ben's only regret is that he wasn't there when his mom died. It was very sudden, probably an accident of some kind, but he didn't find out until after she had already passed.
If your character is at a loud, people-filled party, how would they act? Ben has social anxiety, so he'd probably be in a corner chatting with the one or two people he knows at the party, or he'd be hanging out with the party-thrower's dog, if there's a dog present.
From childhood to their current age, how has your character changed? Ben has gone from being someone who was very reliant on his mom to someone who is able to overcome obstacles on his own (with the support of his friends). He still has anxiety, always has, probably always will, but he's also come a long way in trying to overcome that.
What is the main setting of your story and how does it impact your character? The main setting of the story is the kink club The Space. Ben spends a lot of time there once he moves back to the city, both as a hangout spot and as a place that he and Taylor (and eventually he and Drew) have most of their scenes.
