Unfinished Business - WrymLore

As some of you may know, I was in the Sonic.exe fandom for a brief stint of time. I created art for several people, write lyrics for songs (sadly all FNF), and even created my own exe, WrymLore.

However, I have found a new calling within this Locasol Project, and I no longer have the motivation for continuing with the WyrmLore story. It had a lot of plans, but I was too scared to release it publicly because of what I was seeing at the time.

I believe that with the right people/person, it could become a new entree within the fandom. Not only does it morph and break several tropes, but it would also take the form of many genres to tell a single story: writings, audio, cards, rpg, video, animation, games, etc.

I am young, and cannot do most of these things, but I know there are people who can. Therefore I offer this challenge.

As WyrmLore was designed to be built alongside the fandom, new ownership will be decided by a contests.

So there is all the information, so he is the challenge: Create one piece of media which uses the information here to create a part of the WyrmLore Story. Notice I didn’t say “Art”. A story, an animation, a voice recording, a song, a piece of art, ANYTHING.

However, there are a few rules

No use of hate speech (racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, ANYTHING LIKE THAT)

No NSFW/lewdity (reference is fine, explicit is NOT)

No intensely graphic images (This is more in line with a thriller, rather than straight horror)

Proper crediting must be given wherever it is needed

This “contest” will go on indefinitely until an official outcome is made. Due to the canonical split of “canon” vs “fanon”, there may be multiple winners, who are free to act either independently or dependently with one another.

Hello again everyone,

Over the past 24 hours, there has been a series of misunderstandings regarding the recent poll tampering that we have reported. 

In this post, we hope to clear up some misunderstandings about the server and moderation team as a whole, as well as detail our evidence regarding the poll for those questioning its veracity.

As always, we have a zero tolerance policy for harassment.

>>> MISUNDERSTANDINGS

We would like to begin by stating that with the new year came a new team for the tourney--co-hosts and moderators alike. This tournament has been run and managed very differently from last year’s, and we consider ourselves to be affiliated solely in name and concept alone.

As such, all grievances related to the previous tournament are not related to our current moderation team. If you previously had a bad time in the tourney, we are very sorry to hear that. However, the previous 2023 moderation team is no longer affiliated with running or moderating the tourney.

We would also like to note that last year's host was a minor, and merely wished to help foster a community. They did not expect the event to grow to the size that it did, and do not deserve any amount of hate or contempt for this.

Regarding the Discord server in particular, upon change of ownership, the server eventually underwent an overhaul to better suit the community's new needs. 

One of the changes implemented was removal of an access restricted "Vent Channel" which was created by the previous host when the server still had less than 50 members. The new mods were aware of the risks a vent channel posed in a public server and immediately restricted it to request-to-access. However, as the server grew to foster over 150 members, the channel exhibited constant security breaches and rule breaks, and it had to be removed.

While we care for the mental health of our server members, a large public space is not the place to air private issues. Moderators and server members alike frequently offer support and encourage members to seek aid and consult friends in DMs or personal servers in a safe and private manner.

We also understand that despite the tourney's primary focus being centered around uplifting OCs, the concept remains the same--a "popularity contest” where OCs are matched against one another--which can cause the event to be stressful and mentally draining. We've always encouraged participants to see the competition as lighthearted, to realize that losses do not reflect poorly on their creativity, and to be responsible for their own mental health, as seen in our rules. Any participant can drop out at any time for any reason, a sentiment we reiterate with every new round.

Regarding allegations of bullying and harassing a server member: neither mods nor server members have ever wished the member in question any form of harm, and have frequently offered reassurances and help. No mod has ever sent hateful anons to any of our participants. We request any further allegations regarding this matter to be supplied with evidence, rather than with rumors.

All that being said, we will now share our evidence regarding the tampered poll, including a public catalogue of our minute by minute tracking as well as our calculations of the data.

>>> POLL TAMPERING EVIDENCE

Documentation was not originally released because the moderation team needed several days to analyze, process, format, and present the evidence. While delays are of course not ideal, sharing data with any room for misinterpretation would have been hurtful and harmful to the competitors. To declare a poll tampered with is an enormous action, and not one that we would have done without 100% concrete proof. We received multiple reports from concerned community members regarding abnormal poll behavior, and our moderation team have spent several days working tirelessly around the clock to collect the evidence needed before making any decisions. 

All data was peer reviewed by a team of 7 individuals, and none was falsified.

Firstly, here is a 41 hour graph of the ROUND FIVE: Fylass vs Valfrey poll, from the time we received the first reports of tampering concerns to when we archived the poll shortly after announcing it had been tampered with.

The pattern recorded is mechanical and undeniable.

Any time contestant Valfrey approached or crossed the 50% mark, contestant Fylass would receive a spike of votes within a narrow 10 minute window, surrounded by plateaus on either side. These votes were not accompanied by a boost in public propaganda or reblogs. We recorded this pattern 4 times within a 41 hour period, exclusively when Valfrey approached or crossed the 50% mark.

We reiterate that this pattern had been reported by multiple third party sources prior to our logging, from individuals who saw the spikes happening in real time on the public tumblr post.

Some spikes, especially early on, were smaller, such as the above. Others, such as the final spike below, were significant, recording 18 one-sided votes between 7:51am and 8:00am CDT. As previously, this influx of votes occurred within a ten minute window, and was bookended by a plateau.

What is expected to be seen is a steady fluctuation of votes for both characters. Small spikes are normal. Even a big spike on its own is normal, as someone may have shared their poll in a private space to friends or a separate server, or a piece of propaganda may have rallied potential voters. This was not the activity that was recorded.

Again: we recorded repeated, pattern behaviour of enormous voting spikes within precise ten minute windows, only when Valfrey approached or crossed the 50% marker. The results of these spikes always settled with a slight lead for Fylass, which Valfrey slowly closed; until the spike occurred again like clockwork.

For those who wish to see the numbers and draw their own conclusions, we have provided access to the raw data collected.

Here is our minute by minute screenshot log of this information, publicly available in a channel on our discord server, complete with timestamps. PLEASE BE AWARE that clicking this link will take you to our discord server, where you may choose to join. While the discord server has privacy protection and requires emoji reacts to enter in full, this log is completely public to view and can be accessed by anyone. For the next few days, our Welcome/Join channel will be private, for folks who wish to come and go anonymously, and data will be expunged before reinstatement.

Here is our comprehensive spreadsheet logging information in 10 minute increments, which may be fact checked with the screenshot log, with minute by minute highlights during spikes.

This was a public poll with many eyes on it, meaning these voting spikes were publicly visible, and could have been logged or recorded by anyone at any time. Tournament mods were certainly not the only people aware of this, especially given the size of the final recorded spike; we were just the ones who catalogued it.

We are saddened and upset to hear that some people took what they saw and attacked our competitors. As we have previously stated many times, we do not believe either competitor was aware of or responsible for the rigging of this poll. To tamper with a poll in this way is terribly cruel to the competitors, even those who it seems to "benefit", as it is an enormous betrayal of their trust. We do not believe anyone competing in this tournament would be happy with a doctored victory. 

We are all here because we love Kirby OCs. Tournament contestants in particular are here to spotlight and celebrate their own OCs in the polls, and rally genuine fans. To take that away is an extreme act of unkindness to our competitors, and we are sorry that it came to pass in such a way. We had previously stated our intentions of rerunning this poll through a more secure platform, in the hopes of creating a more fair and enjoyable environment for our competitors. However, due to a competitor withdrawing, we will no longer be rerunning this poll. We would like to once again request not to use this as an opportunity to harass or attack our competitors. Again, we do not think they are responsible for the tampering of this poll. We genuinely believe that the impacted competitors are hurt by this act of tampering above all others.

Bullying and harassment is, as it has always been, something we have zero tolerance for. If anyone has any evidence of bullying or harassment, we ask you to approach us immediately so that we may address it. Thank you to those kind community members who have already stepped up during this time to share material with us while these incidents unfolded, we are very grateful.

We hope that this has helped clear up any lingering uncertainties or confusion.

For now, we would like to keep all other private issues private, and do not intend to release any further evidence regarding any other allegations towards our moderation team or the tournament as a whole. We believe this is in the best interests of everyone involved, and would like to see these claims cease. However, we will not tolerate the continued public slander of our team; we can and will publicise what we need in order to defend them and clear any remaining doubt.

it's common knowledge that a lot of the robot masters are reprogrammed by Wily to do terrible things, but it's honestly staggering just how many of the RMs actually are not Wily-made or have anything to do with Wily at all. he's the exact kind of asshole to download someone's art, put his own signature on it, and reupload it as his own while reporting someone else for art theft. he even puts his own goddamn DWN number on them, as if he made them from the ground up!

when it comes to the overall roster of robot masters, his claim of ownership can go:

Megaman 1: mostly Light's 'bots. in the english translation, he worked on them with Light. outside of that, though, it's all Light, baby.

Megaman 2: his original OCs do not steal.

Megaman 4: Cossack, obv

Megaman 5: his original OCs do not steal

Megaman World V: not his. def. not his. they're from the far of future of the year 2000!

Megaman 6: people all over the world made 'em. also not his.

Megaman 7: like half and half? Junk Man, Spring Man, Slash Man, and Turbo Man is his, everything else is stolen.

Megaman 8: less than half. Frost Man is his, as is Grenade Man and Search Man. surprisingly, Clown Man is not his, despite Frost Man being built from leftover parts and that whole rigamarole about getting to see what his interior was like for the contest.

Megaman & Bass: less than half once again; only Ground Man, Burner Man, and Pirate Man. thing is, this number is actually zero if you consider the ones that King built to not be Wily's by proxy.

out of 13 fucking games, we have only about three of which wily can lay claim to as truly being his own. and i'm sure if we look at the expanded canon for all of the Robot Masters in spinoff games, we'd start seeing the number skew even further. in fact, that's something i'm probably gonna do at some point, making another datasheet like i did with the Mavericks.

This is just a thought I’m putting out but me and some friends of mine who are a big fan of the Persona franchise made ourselves some Persona 5 OC and I think I’d be pretty cool and awesome if persona 5 X had used other people’s persona OCs for their game, confidants for the protagonist or just characters for requests or even background characters I think this would be a great idea to put other people’s ideas and creativity together.

Oh, I have Persona OCs as well, so I definitely understand where you're coming from!

Thinking about the logistics of it, though, I don't know if you'd really want them to do that. On the legal side of things, you'd basically have to give them ownership of your character for them to implement them in the game with the freedom I'm sure they'd like, which isn't something I'd personally want to do, though maybe some people would be fine with it. The other thing is that, if they were to make the entire game's cast OCs, or even just a significant portion, they've basically used your designs and ideas for (presumably) free instead of hiring their own character designers, and I wouldn't want to encourage companies to take advantage of fans like that.

I think an exception to this would be if they did it as a contest, with the top prize being "your character becomes a P5X character", as more of a promotional thing than a "do our work for us" thing. I wouldn't have a problem with that, as long as they were clear how ownership rights would transfer. (Also, as a disclaimer, I wouldn't have this issue with a fan game- it's the fact that it's a big company and big companies often take advantage of artists.)

Sorry, I guess that's not really a fun answer. I really do understand why it sounds like a fun idea, and I do think it'd give a chance for other people to give some input on the game, and involve the fans in a cool way! I'd just be worried about people losing the rights to their own characters, or otherwise getting a really unfair deal.

Legendverse Rivals Professions as of now:

Blue: Gym Leader, Battle Legend ( runs the battle tree) and " Part Time Professor"

Silver: Pokemon trainer and runs Johto's Battle Tower.

Wally: Takes Anabel's place as head of the tower tycoon.

Barry: Eventually becomes a tower tycoon like his father. Also kinda a professor's aid????? He found himself actually being invested in myths and such, and occasionally helps out Kiran and Cynthia with their research. Genuinely knows his stuff!

Cheren: Canonically a gym leader

Bianca: Ends up being a full fledged pokemon professor.

Hugh: Unovan champion and pokemon rehabilitator

N: Tbh? Not entirely sure? I generally imagine him living a #cottegecore life style with Kamari. That being said, I can see him doing some things. For one, working at a pokemon daycare fits him really well, or like Hugh, a pokemon rehabilitator. He also has the potential to be a pokemon professor- not entirely sure how he would feel about that, but I think he's qualified for it? Pokemon battles are still a thing for him, but not the main focus.

Shauna: Either a pokemon coordinator or showcase star- which ever is allowed in Kalos ( both have a very toxic space, so it's best that only one exists in Kalos), as well as a photographer.

Trevor: A professor's assistant! I do think he took the gym challenge at one point though, given how he mentioned he would do it if he wasn't focused on the Pokedex. I don't think he's particularly interested in being champion though.

Tierno: Like Shauna, possible a coordinator or showcase star. Again, there's some Legendverse lore on how I perceive contests and showcases but this seems like a really good fit for him. He probably even opened his own dance studio too!

No Calem/Serena cause they got replaced with ocs lol.

Hau: Either a kahuna or the champion. I haven't exactly decided on one. I can see a case for each of them, though.

Gladion: Alola Elite 4 member and potential aether foundation president. I say potential because in my au, Gladion isn't thrown into ownership of the Aether Foundation. I want him to be a kid and not handle such responsibility. That, and the fact that Gladion has some trauma of the place, and it wouldn't do him good to just go back there. He might in the future ( he's 22 by SV in my au, so it might be around the time he's considering taking up the mantle)

Lillie: I know she's not an actual rival, but I just wanted to add her lol. Like Gladion, she doesn't involve herself with the Aether Foundation for a long while. But I do see her potentially being a researcher there, as well as a pokemon trainer ( we know that one can be a pokemon trainer professionally).

Hop: Hopscotch <3. A pokemon professor, and works with the ranger guild in Galar. Occasionally goes out on the field for ranger work, but being a professor is his main occupation.

Marnie: A gym leader and fashion designer. She also does music, and would occasionally appear on her brothers band.

Bede: A gym leader and a stage actor, much like Opal( she's alive btw). He, too, dances, mostly ballet( he wears ballet shoes as a part of his gym uniform).

While the three aren't exactly rangers per say ( though Hop is like a professor for the rangers, I guess), but ever since they were established, they do work closely with them, especially Marnie and Bede, given how the routes to their respective towns can be....intense.

Nemona: Definitely becomes top champion. I mean. Come on.

Arven: A chef! Was pretty much stated in the games.

Penny: I can see her working in the leagues i.t department. I think that was said in the game? I don't remember lol.

Sci-Fi Worlbuilding Challenge and Character Contest

Hei! I want to take some time to advertise a Character and Worldbuilding Contest I am currently holding. It is super simple: you send me a character description based on one of my rudimentary worldbuilds and if that character is picked, you will get a free reference or three pages of written story text for that character. (Art examples can be found on my tumblr. It will be in full color. You will be consulted during the creation process and receive sketches or story ideas). Ten characters will be chosen by me.

The idea: I often tend to base worldbuilds on my main characters. So this time I want to build my world on a group of side characters and what they need to exist in this world. That is also why the world build is very, very open and simple for now.

The story I will write include the following themes. Please read them carefully and decide if you want your character to be included in it: - Body Horror - genre-typical violence - drugs - religious violence - social injustice When it comes to your OC I guarantee that I will consult you, should they be included in more severe situations and that you will be able to veto any of my ideas. The regions aren't only home to the Pokémon League however, as they've become a hub for everything related to Pokémon, from battling to breeding to beauty contests. This also makes them a target unfortunately, with a group of angry folks trying to get rid of Pokémon ownership altogether. Team Deliverance, was it? They seem to be cropping up more and more nowadays with their goal to completely separate Pokémon from human life, liberating them all from the "abusive grasps" of trainers.

Alone, betrayal, failure, fear, hide. You can do it for anyone, but I’m curious about Anaria.

alone: How does your OC deal with loneliness? Have they ever been completely alone before? How do they act when there's no one around to see them?

Anaria often feels lonely despite having lots of people around her. She feels like a lot of those relationships are fleeting, shallow, or not meaningful. They don’t really know her. They know the Princess of Nessar, the face she puts on for the public.

She deals with loneliness by getting very attached to the people that do know the real her, like Hali and Sylvae, and eventually Girad. She can be rather codependent at times.

She’s been completely alone while captured by Ivaran. For a while she’d just been left in a cell for days with no contact with anyone save for Ivaran and the guard who brought her food and water. With this kind of loneliness, she could do nothing but try her best to endure it. There was a lot of self-hugging, because she’s craving a touch from those she loves.

When she’s alone and not captured, Anaria can sometimes find some peace. She doesn’t have to put up with shallow lords who want her attention. Usually her alone time happens when she’s taking care of her garden. She likes to talk and sing to her plants. They are living things, after all!

Anaria is betrayed by her trusted servant Wyniin. Wyniin sides with Ivaran and helps orchestrate Anaria’s capture.

And absolutely yes to her having betrayed someone else. She betrays Girad when she doesn’t tell him she’s pregnant with his baby and endangers herself and said baby for the sake of bloodlust and revenge. Girad doesn’t trust her for a while after this.

More spoilers and talk of miscarriage! Read with care!

Anaria feels that her greatest failure is in not sharing her pregnancy with Girad and going into battle while carrying their child. She suffers an injury that results in a miscarriage, which is the way Girad finds out she was even pregnant in the first place.

I haven’t written that part yet, so it’s hard to say if she moves past it or not. Probably not, honestly. She made bad choices with very real consequences that effected a lot of people.

Girad, Hali, Sol, Dyon, Sylvae, and Anika are the only ones who know about this. They don’t want word of any of it getting out to the people. Anaria already feels like that list above is too many people to know about it.

fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away?

Anaria’s greatest fear is the loss of flight. She’s attached her sense of freedom to flight, and felt awful when that was taken from her in captivity.

When confronted with it, like when Hali loses her wings and she herself almost does, she panics. She usually tries to bury her fears deep and deal with them when alone, but that one is just too much for her.

She is not open about this fear after she sees Hali suffer from losing her wings. She thinks she would only burden her or sound callous and selfish.

hide: What does your OC hide? Why do they hide it?

Anaria hides the brand from Ivaran. She knows it as a slave’s brand, and sees it as him having ownership of her. She feels that if she were to reveal it more openly, her already contested place as Sol’s successor would be put into question. (The people don’t think her capable after her captivity.)

Here's a chance to ramble on about one of your latest OC creations/updates to a favorite of yours! I want at LEAST 5 facts!!! Go! :)

Aaah, thank you! Latest OC creation would be Mrs. Barbara Potts, though her name may be changing, depending on my mood.

1. Halfling who grew up in a rural village. The people who raised her found her as a baby in a caravan that had been attacked, her birth parents killed. Instead of leaving her to die, they took her in and raised her as their own. She has zero memory of life before and honestly doesn’t care to find out, as far as she’s concerned, the people who raised her are her parents, even if she knows they didn’t give birth to her.

2. Loves to cook, and when she went out to a larger town to go learn how to be a chef to support her aging parents, discovered that she loved to bake even more. She became an apprentice for a local baker, who liked her so much they offered Barbara a partnership. When the baker died of old age, they gave her ownership of the bakery in their will.

3. She met her husband during a festival in another town. There was a spouse carrying contest and both of them wanted the huge amount of money that the sponsor was giving out as a prize, so they agreed to say they were married in order to compete. Barbara went into a rage, hoisted the total stranger up onto her shoulders, and hauled ass to victory. This sweet little halfling man who looks completely mild-mannered was so smitten that he gave her an 80/20 split of the winnings instead of the 50-50 they’d agreed upon.

4. He also happened to be from the town she had settled in after taking on ownership of the bakery. He just never went into the shop much or missed her when she was working, so they hadn’t met until the festival. After he found out she was the owner, he became a regular but never had the nerve to ask her out. She made the first move by creating a pastry inspired by him and told him she didn’t do that for just anybody, so you wanna go grab a drink or something?

5. They have three small children and they’re so proud of their mama for going out on adventures. Her husband learned how to bake so that he could still run the bakery while she was away, and he would get their kids to help make Barbara’s favorite cookies to take with her when she left so she’d be reminded of her family waiting for her to come back home. Her little ones would beg her to bring back cool trinkets from wherever she went so that it would feel like they were with her along the way. Barbara often mails things with letters for her family, as well as any coin she can spare.

2019 OSG Report Week 1

The 2019 NFL season kicks off Sunday, and fantasy football season does as well. It’s very important to know the types of contests or season long formats you’re competing in to have true success. DFS wise, multipliers, and head to head contests calls for safe yet good plays that may be a little chalky across the industry. Big tournaments where finishing in the top 10 is the goal, calls for deep plays at times, and game stacking where you go with guts mixed with some form of research. Cash games or multipliers and head to heads, go for players with good floors with ceiling mixed in. In tournaments, chase the ceiling plays.

Chiefs -3.5 at Jags (52.5)

As always, the Chiefs are in a high total game. The Jags were one of the league’s best secondaries last season and if we go off that and last year’s KC performance this would not be a spot to pay up for the likes of Tyreek Hill. Though his performance vs Jax was subpar last year as well, I’m more inclined to roster Kelce over Hill to be different at TE. Until McCoy was signed, I was all in on Damien Williams week 1 to pair with Mahomes and not heavily target the receivers and hope all TDS thru air and ground comes thru Mahomes and Williams. Will it be a 60/40 split or more in the backfield? Andy Reid did not bring McCoy in just to sit. But I may still take some shots on Williams. His price is still down across the industry. The best value play will be Mecole Hardman in the slot. He’s dirt cheap on all sites and could have the better matchup with Hill and Watkins locked up on the outside by two of the best returning CBs in the NFL

-If we believe the total and the close game theory, you definitely want to run back the stack with some Jags players. I have been leery on rostering or drafting the oft injured Fournette. Maybe with a better passing game it takes some work load off? Nick Foles was the WRs QB in Philly as oppose to Wentz the TE/Ertz whisperer. If true, this will go well for the explosive Dede Westbrook who hasn’t shown his potential yet in a stagnant offense. Westbrook will be a popular choice across all sites. He’s cheap and he’s the #1 WR on a team involved with a 52.5 total. If the Jags defense shows up and slows down KC in any way, they will be a great defensive leverage play in tournaments where a lot of ownership could fall on Kansas City.

Rams -3 at Panthers (50.5)

What to do with the Rams. Do they have Super Bowl loss hangover? Is Gurley healthy? Will his load be lighter to start the season, and save he for the long haul? Last year I believe he was just running so hard the first 14 weeks of the season that he was just banged up to finish. Will he and Malcom Brown split time? If he has a great game, then this will be his cheapest price of the season. If you are looking for a game to stack, then here is one. Cam/Goff, McCaffrey/Gurley and/or WR of choice you like out of Woods, Cooks, and Kupp. Big strong physical receivers like Woods has had success against the smaller CB core of Carolina. DJ Moore is getting a lot of hype, but I never favor WRs of Cam Newton. He’s not predictable. He uses his legs to escape, which turns it into a “throw it to whoever looks open” scenario. So, between his rushing upside, and C-Mac I think those two players get you all of the Carolina TDs.

49ers+1 at Buccaneers (50).

If you’re looking for another stacking option game, then here we go. I do favor the Bucs side of the ball for many many reasons. I’m still not sold on the 49er offense outside of George Kittle who this week could be a top play at TE. Tampa Bay has always including last season been a prime defense to target with TEs. Aside from Kittle, I’m having a hard time clicking on players from teams no matter the over/under who I think are not good teams or players. Matt Breida and Tevin Coleman are splitting the backfield, Jimmy G remains a question mark. Against this Tampa defense however is a good spot to target. I’m just maybe going to miss out. I do think Winston will stockpile targets to Mike Evans for PPR leagues/sites, but TD equity will be a tossup between Peyton Barber, Chris Godwin (who should take a big leap this season, and OJ Howard. Winston as most young QBs loves his TE.

Falcons +3.5 at Vikings (47.5)

I was a little surprised to see the Vikings favored by over a field goal. Yes, Atlanta is on the road but still a dome setting. Xavier Rhodes wasn’t his usual self last season or the preseason, which bodes well for the Atlanta WR core. Particularly Julio Jones whom as of Friday “should play” despite contract negotiations. Matt Ryan is a classic spread it out in the red zone type of QB. While Freeman is Coleman-less in the backfield, I fear the Ito Smith vulture line of 5 rushes 11 yards, 2Td game. Ridley is not a target monster but is a TD machine vs the 0 red zone looks Julio for reasons unknown gets. Sanu is the alter ego of Julio because of his size and strength. My favorite pass catcher will be Hooper at TE who caught on late in the season as is a perfect funnel if the outside corners for Minnesota are doing well.

-Kirk cousins is still at the helm but it’s hard to ignore the concentrated targets of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. Thielen is the safe play while Diggs is the tournament, dart, high upside play. My favorite play is Dalvin Cook. He’s at home✅. Favored✅. Used in the red zone✅. Could touch the ball 20 times✅. For several seasons we have picked on Atlanta with RBs, especially ones who catch passes. Kyle Rudolph seems to score a TD every other game and could be a pivot off Hunter Henry for a cheap TE.

Lions -2.5 at Cardinals (47.5)

Here is a game where I am having trouble with. At first, I skipped over it but think it could deserve some mention. Matt Stafford is underpriced and could go overlooked. The Arizona secondary has only been good in names on jerseys. Mix in a rookie QB who is making his coach feel like “teeth pulling” and the Lions route could be on. Stafford to Golloday or Marvin Jones Jr. could go under owned in tournaments and win a heavy tournament. Kerryon Johnson is also great in stacks with Stafford. If you don’t believe in Murray out the gate, the Lions defense could be sneaky here.

-The Christian Kirk/Kyler Murray train will begin steam and besides a flyer in a Million-dollar tournament stack I’m not sure if I’m heavy on Murray out the gate. He does offer rushing ability but on Fanduel he’s priced $700 more than Stafford. No way! I do think David Johnson returns somewhat to an easy 20 point/game fantasy producer this season. Just remember the Lions slow games down and their stacks are often frustrating to watch play out. I am stacking 2-3 lineups in large field tournaments just in case though.

Redskins +8.5 at Eagles (46)

This game has fade all over it. Large spread. Divisional game (I hate division games). So, with that said Jordan Howard is favored✅. At home✅. And is playable with the defense. Not optimal but if he carries 15-20 times and hits the end zone vs a shaky Washington team, he hits value. Wentz does tend to throw 2-3 TDS a game. He loves Ertz and he is a great pivot off of Kelce in the high priced TE range. He also has favored Alshon Jeffrey and D-Jack is always good for the long ball. But again, never a fan of stock piling divisional games.

Titans +5.5 at Browns (45.5).

Is Tennessee good? No. Do they suck? Yes. Can they go into Cleveland and shock us all and win? Not sure, but I’m willing to say they will cover the 5.5 underdog tag they have. They slow down and muddy up games. They make them real ugly. If Beckham is slowed down by his hip in any way, isn’t the team a lot the same on offense? Again, we are just talking about this week. I don’t favor any Tennessee offensive player but if you think they show up, Derrick Henry or Corey Davis is your guy. Two seasons ago, I would say play Delanie Walker because I have for several seasons successfully played talented TEs vs Cleveland. But are he and Mariota talented together? Maybe not.

-With that said I do like to avoid offenses vs Tennessee and this opening week will probably be no different. The only safe play in my opinion whom also offers upside is Nick Chubb at RB and maybe paired with the Cleveland defense who should be good. I do think we see Baker throw a lot of balls with Todd Monken at offensive coordinator. This is of special interest because Monken was the OC in Tampa and the combined numbers of Winston and FitzMagic, if were one player would have been the #2 scoring fantasy QB in the NFL. I hate being a week late, but I wonder if THIS is the matchup because in fantasy and DFS this game is all we care about for now. Plus, I’m interested to see how Baker distributes the ball. Which pass catcher is most viable? Is OBJ worth the price tag if limited in anyway. Can you trust Higgins or Callaway? I will focus most exposure personally on Nick Chubb and the defense here. He fits the bill. At home✅. Favored✅. Could touch the ball 20 times✅. Usually used in the red zone✅.

Chargers -6.5 at Colts (45)

I do feel I am a fish for it, but I do like the Chargers defense. Maybe Brissett is better than we anticipate, but we know what we are getting here. Austin Eckler’s buzz is growing and rightfully so. He should garner the majority of the rushes and should be involved in the passing game for a team who despite being on the road is favored and playing in a dome. The next fish play is site dependent, but Hunter Henry with no Antonio Gates is in play as is the Rivers/Allen or Rivers/Williams stack.

-I’m not in favor of tournament fliers on Brissett, Marlon Mack, and Eric Ebron. Those would be the only players I would consider but it’s a full fade for me.

Bills + 3 at Jets (40.5)

Why is a 40.5 over/under relevant? The prices. Is Josh Allen one of the best NFL qbs? No! Does he provide fantasy football value because of his legs? Yes.

-Is Sam Darnold the best QB? No. But at home, favored, and pricing, he and Bell could provide the TD equity in this game easy and this game will either fall under 40.5 or go way over and hit 50. I could easily see long TDs from Darnold to Anderson and could allow you to fit any RBs, WRs or defenses you want in lineup construction.

Bengals +10 at Seahawks (44). Chris Carson plus Seattle defense is the play here. Don’t fall for the Tyler Boyd with no AJ Green trap. Mixon could score but this is not an optimal spot.

Ravens -5 at Dolphins (37.5). As much as we may like Baltimore defense, how about the Dolphins defense for dirt cheap and just play all of the offense you want? Are they under dogs? Yes! But they are at home. And Lamar Jason could easily throw a pick six. That mixed with not allowing Baltimore to score 28-31 is good enough at their price. However, Jackson, Mark Ingram, and the Baltimore (an expensive defense) is still in play despite such a low total game. I think the Bills/Jets are more likely to go over their game total than this one. Young QBs like their TEs so Andrews is firmly in play as well.
