Nunsense - a queercoded musical 🏳️‍🌈

It makes me so sad that so little people even know about this gem! One of the best musicals ever in my opinion. And one pairing stands out: Reverent Mother Superior Mary Regina and Sister Robert Anne! Played by Rue McClanahan and Christine Anderson❤️

Regina and Robert Anne are this type of couple who constantly tease each other, are very different and get on each others nerves but also wouldn't want to spend a single day without the other. (which they would never dare to admit ofc)

Some Quotes from Nunsense 1, Nunsense 2 and Nuncrackers:

Regina: "Robert Anne's a good egg, if a bit hard-boiled at times. In fact, you might say she's an entire breakfast"

In Nunsense 1 Robert Anne writes a fictional (and naughty!) story featuring Regina under the name Sister Kitty. At the end, there's a photo of Regina in her underwear - which raises the question: How did Robert Anne get that picture?!

Robert Anne: "You gotta understand that you, you're, you're.." Regina: "Yes?" Robert Anne: "Different. You've got to give yourself some more credit. I mean, you've got that indescribable something that no other nun in the universe-" Regina: "It's getting awfully deep in here, Robert." Robert Anne: "I'm serious."

Robert Anne: "I got pizazz, and razzmatazz and all that jazz that every star has. What do you say Rev, shall we give it a whirl? And, you're never gonna believe the tricks I still got up my sleeve. You show yours and I'll show them mine. So whadda ya think, huh Rev?" Regina: "I think you should take your pizazz and razzmatazz and all O' that jazz and you should stick 'em up your.. sleeve"

Robert Anne: "Hey Rev, I could do it, come on. It's my big chance." Regina: "Robert Anne, what we need is a sugar plum fairy, not a dancing ham." Robert Anne: "Give me a break Rev, hey, we can't disappoint those kids. Somebody's gotta be the sugar plum fairy." Regina: " Yeah that's right, somebody's gotta be, but Ill go out there before I let you go out there." Robert Anne: "But look I've been practicing. Look I can-" Regina: "Robert, Robert, Robert Anne, in the words of my sainted mother, don't make me kill ya so close to Christmas."

Regina: "Oh, Robert, Robert, get off of that thing. Robert Anne: "Hey, it's fun, you oughta try it. Here." Regina. "Oh, Robert, I'm gonna smack you in a minute." Robert Anne: "You heard it, folks. Habit abuse."

Robert Anne: "..before they screw you." Regina: "Sister! Robert, you know that's not true. Robert Anne: "Hey I'm teasin' you."

Robert Anne: "It's all because of Sister Rose Francis. She was the head of Saint Clairs and boy oh boy, she... she was something else!" (Robert Anne telling the story of why she became a nun. It's because of Sister Rose Francis and Regina may or may not be a little jealous. There's also a scene where Robert Anne jokingly flirts with someone from the audience and Regina gets all mad and tells her to stop.)

Robert Anne: "Is this cool, or what?" Regina: "You're worse than third-graders."

I have designed the priest for my pixel game Nunsense! His name is Sermon (like Simon but a pun, which is the rule I want to follow for all the namings)

Also I’ve been working on walking speeds and stuff, Sermon walks slow cause his bones be cracking, Nungelina also walks slow cause she’s boring and Psalmela walks fast cause I love her and she’s a critter (I just realised Sermon was a bit too far forward in the beginning he’s meant to be the slowest.. I knew he was cheating in the race)

PaleyFest 2024

TWD DD: TBOC panel. Spoilers alert - non linear thoughts below.

First time at PaleyFest - small venue, I was in the third row. They were quite strict about no pics, but I snuck a few .

We saw the fourth episode of TBOC, and it was much better than I expected. Carol has some epic scenes and some funny dialogue, although I'm looking forward to a re-watch as I couldn't understand some of the non-native English speakers dialogue without my trusty subtitles.

The long-awaited reunion scene happened early in the episode to thunderous applause, Carol met Isabelle for a few seconds the end of all the nunsense, and Genet says au revoir, hoisted on her own petard.

Then a long schlep through the French countryside to meet the older couple seen in clips - you all are going to love this couple, especially the woman (sorry, bad with names!) who takes the time to give Carol a much-needed hug.

Caryl's dynamic was a bit off (and I think intentionally so) as they try to find their way back to their friendship. They'll get there. The parallels between Ezekial/Carol's and Isabelle/Daryl's relationship is very strongly drawn: Laurent is the French Henry that brought these 2 together - they're not soulmates. I know I'm forgetting stuff that stood out to me while I was watching, and I'll kick myself during tomorrow's re-watch.

The panel was fairly typical - everyone seemed in a good mood, nothing really major was revealed. Lots of talk about the reunion, the new type of walker, what it was like to film in France (and Norman really needs a new story rather than repeating for at least the third time about how the French film differently than they did back in Georgia). The host asked the audience if we were sad to see Isabelle die and I'll admit to saying "No" a bit loud.

Chad Colman was in the audience in the first row, and both Mel and Norman were excited to see him there and there were a few exchanges between them.

Mel didn't stick around for signing/photographs although she did stop to sign something and for a quick pic with the family in front of me as she left the theater. I was so glad for them as they had traveled from Germany and were heading to Atlanta to see the sets either today or tomorrow, so I'm sure it was a highlight for them. I saw her leave the building but she didn't stop there either. She looked great, though (and I really loved her boots!)

First time committing a pixel art hehee

I made these two for a game I just decided to start making today, their names are Nungelina and Psalmela they’re for a small game I’m planning called Nunsense (either Utter Nunsense or Stop that Nunsense I haven’t decided yet)

Basically imagine you, the player, are an absolute little shit child that probably got smacked into a religious orphanage or have to go to church without wanting to, and instead of just taking it you decide to be a little ass and cause havoc. Stuff like teaching the choir boys swear words etc. while trying to avoid the nuns catching you or snooping on the people working in the church to reveal their darkest secrets etc. depending on which nun catches you the penalty varies and different nuns are differently difficult to avoid (like shorter warnings or they walk faster etc.)

Nungelina (glasses) I’d say will be about middle level, and Psalmela might be a snitch but nothing goes into her brain cause all her body’s energy goes into maintaining her peepers/j no but like she’s too nervous to be very strict but might snitch on you (yes she does have a mouth it’s just a stylistic choice so she can have the blue eye stare she deserves)(also the other nuns will all have way smaller eyes I don’t have an example rn cause Nungelina wears glasses)

I have already shared this to a few other blogs, but TLQ anon is not from Chris’s side like they claim. They are definitely from Alba’s side. Please look at all the Chris gossip blogs on tumblr and how many drag Alba. TLQ is the only blog who doesn’t do that an actually stand up for her. The only info they get is Alba related. If you notice they have been late to several Chris appearances because they had no idea he would be doing this one random event, but they knew where Alba was at all times. Alba’s team or friends reached out and slowly gained their trust by throwing out information that would be true. Then they started funneling down the Alba nunsense because they already gained their trust. The TLQ also had Maddy giving her info on Chris’s homes and pictures that zombie girl takes of them. I really don’t want to hear about anyone else violating his privacy when they talk daily about a wedding and engagement that is not public knowledge while talking nonstop about his house that he’s going to raise a family in. You would think they would have more respect for the man they have been a fan of for years, but it is clear that that are an Alba fan account now.

Y’all know Zombie girl and Hockey girl are actually alba right? Fun fact. Only a small group of trusted people knew Alba was in MA for something in April but Hockey Girl came strutting in “I saw them in my car walking near his house! She was wearing her baby pink Boston hat” she was blocked right away. Because you can’t see someone walking the trail near his house from the road.

Alba has a tumblr, LSA, Twitter, and Instagram account. She keeps the narrative talking about her because she’s an attention seeker and narcissist.

How does your OC make money? Do they have a respectible profession or work a series of odd jobs? Are they a criminal? Or do they get creative in the pursuit of coin?

Well, okay. She’s a nun so she does a lot of work but all of it is free.

A bit ago she had a few jobs that did pay - mainly running a tea and smoke lounge for a few noble houses out of Ishgard. But she left, renewed her vows, and is back on her path of Nunsense.

Mostly, her great-aunt Odile funds her lifestyle; including a rather large home on the La Noscea coast where Odette can keep her small flock of sheep, a few chickens, and a large garden.

There was a time when Odette did steal for money! But that was a long time ago.

Odile has a lot of money because when Ul’dah decided to park over the corpse of her beloved city, Sil’dihn she got very big mad. Vowing to rip the city apart from the inside out she entered Ul’dah and quickly learned one can’t do shit without gil.

So she got gil.

It doesn’t matter how.

But she got a lot of it.

And when the zombies still trapped in Sil’dihn tried to burst through the earth to get out… Odile laughed. Like, long and hard about it. And she felt better. So, the plan for revenge was dropped and instead, she went for a swim like Scrooge McDuck.
