people, “fans”, attacking an actor on twitter because his views of a character and wishes for him don’t align with theirs, calling him names, mocking him for his hairstyle, starting tag-wars and begging for a ship to become canon and I’m honestly speechless.

criticizing creative decisions for a character, wonky storylines, questionably written female characters and plotholes is good and fair - but only if it happens on a factual and grounded basis which is absolutely not the case here.

we, as fans, should never feel entitled to how a story’s gonna play out - never, ever, ever. we can voice our sadness, share our stories and opinions, but we are not entitled to see the story play out exactly how we want it to. Never ever ever.

I don’t know if y’all remember the marketing of The Last of Us Part II, the switched out trailer, indicating Joel is alive when in fact he dies about half an hour into the game - now THAT was hard as fuck as well, but nobody screamed or lost their minds about “false marketing.” Because guess what marketing is?

A story is a story, and once you stop enjoying it, it’s absolutely your right to tune out of it and to look for your enjoyment elsewhere and pour your passion into anything else - but it’s never your right to harass people and to ruin the experience for everybody else.

EPISODE 2 — DARYL DIXON: THE BOOK OF CAROL.

It just doesn't make sense at all for Daryl and Carol to stay platonic. You're telling me that in 12 whole years, Daryl and Carol just never once thought about each other in a romantic way. Bc if they did, they'd *definitely* want to go there. It's literally laughable to think that two unrelated, sexually compatible adults with that much love, respect, and chemistry just wouldn't go there in their heads.

They didn't grow up together. They met when they were in their 40s. Having a sibling-like relationship would be if they're sexually incompatible or if they knew each other as children.

I get that people want to see more male-female friendships depicted on screen, but keeping this one platonic just isn't realistic. You're essentially trying to deny the sexuality of two allosexual adults who deserve to have sexually fulfilling relationships 🙃. The beautiful thing about them is that they *can* be platonic, but they don't have to be. They'd still love each other just as much if they aren't romantic, but that doesn't mean they don't get to be romantic as well.

And that brings me to the prevalent issues with de-sexualising middle-aged women, in particular.

One day, I will be a middle-aged woman, and I'd like to see what I have to look forward to represented on-screen. Currently, I'm being told by this narrative that it would just be impossible, out of the question, a thing of no existence, for a man of my same age, who I am compatible with in every way and who loves me in every other way, to love me romantically. How nice.

It's a joke because Carol is literally one of the hottest women to exist. And the one man who she loves with her whole heart, and who also loves her, doesn't want to share intimacy with her. Lol, ok.

imagine you just got saved by your hot wife after almost a decade of being stuck in a military operation, being brainwashed and losing a fucking limb and you finally get to come back home to your family and see your children that you thought you were never going to see again and everything is perfect and you're settling in but then a dingy ass plane lands in your backyard and out of it comes a weird child who has been sent by your boy best friend who is now apparently on a european vacation and of course you're gonna take care of the kid because bro has basically raised your children while you were gone but like. the kid is fucking Catholic. and also French. poor fucking rick
