page 226 - You wanna see productive. Check this out. All class A, even after cleaning, no Bs, Cs or Ds in the bunch.
All my IVF peeps out there know what I'm talking about!!!
Imagine reporting an increased use of your servers for cloud computing on your company's quarterly results call and acting like it's something to be proud of. As if you had created value by destroying forests to harvest minerals, and heated the earth to cool your compute. Imagine living in a system that labels something productive while it is hastening own demise and that of everyone unfortunate enough to live within it, adjacent to it, or on the same planet as it.
I guess what I'm saying is I want to have a baby.

Hello, I am loving Ts' Íts' àsh and how it’s spoken! I’d love to know if you plan on releasing a full breakdown/alphabet type thing because I would love to learn more about it and how to speak it! I’m already learning parts of it and implementing it into my daily speech to get better at speaking it, especially ashfa. Would love to learn more soon!
Best regards, Samuel
If you're talking about the orthography, I did that here. If you mean the sound system and the romanization, I can do that.
Ts'íts'àsh doesn't have a ton of consonants—very few, in fact. They are as follows (romanized form [IPA]: notes [if any]):
p [p]
b [b]
t [t]
d [d]
t' [t']: this is an ejective consonant
k [k]
k' [k']: this is also an ejective consonant
f [ɸ]: this is a bilabial sound
s [s]
sh [ʃ]
kh [x]
r [r/ɾ]: pronounced like a trill at the beginning or end of a word; otherwise pronounced like a flap
That's it! Nothing too complex. Then there are only four true monophthong vowels:
a [a]
i [i]
o [o]
u [u]
Now this is where things get complicated. Any of the four vowels above or any of the fricatives above can serve as a nucleus. This means you can have a word tkh, psh, or even ss. All of those are licit. You can also have any two vowels in a nucleus—including the fricatives. So while you can only have CVV, you can actually have words like tsá, kshí, or even pskh.
(Small aside: If one of these nucleic fricatives follows an ejective, the ejective marking moves to the right of all the consonants. So a word that begins with k' and then has a nucleus of fó is spelled and pronounced kf'ó.)
There are a number of rules for what happens when two vowels (with vowels including fricatives) come next to one another. The result is too complex to list out in text, so I'm afraid I have to do a table, and since Tumblr doesn't do tables, it has to be visual. Here it is:
So, green means the sequences of vowels are allowed to go together without anything changing. Yellow means the sequence is allowed, but some sort of phonological change occurs. Red means the sequence is disallowed. There is also a general prohibition against three of the same sound in a row, even if one is an onset and two are nuclei. Thus, while ss is licit, sss is forbidden. It is worth noting that several of these vowel-vowel sequences result in monophthongs. This is important for the phonology when it comes to tone assignment. The monophthong sequences are:
*aa > a
*ai > e
*ao/*au > o
*ou/*oo > u
This means that certain instances of the vowels [a], [o], and [u] are phonologically long, and the vowel [e] is also phonologically long (and also brings it up to a five vowel system!). Some other interesting notes:
Long high vowels broke, as in English (so *ii > ai and *uu > au).
The first element of opening diphthongs fortify into a fricative (so *iV sequences become shV and *uV/*oa sequences become fV/fa).
Any time s and sh come next to each other the result is ssh (i.e. [ʃʃ]).
The only consonant f can occur next to as a part of the nucleus is f.
Now, the tones are fairly simple. There are three tones:
High Tone [´]: The vowel is pronounced with high pitch—much the way a vowel is in English when it's stressed.
Low Tone [`]: The vowel is pronounced with low pitch—much the way a vowel is in English when it's unstressed (and also not in front of a stressed vowel).
Falling Tone [ˆ]: The pitch starts off high and falls before leaving the vowel—like when you see a kitty and go, "Awwwwwww!"
How tone is assigned is complex. Good news is if the nucleus is consonantal (just fricatives), there's no tone. Fricatives don't bear tone in Ts'íts'àsh.
The short story for tone is that tone in Ts'íts'àsh came from a combination of an older stress system and cues from onset and coda consonants. An older stressed syllable is called a blaze syllable, and an older unstressed syllable is called a smolder syllable. A smolder syllable will always have low tone unless it has a current or former coda voiceless stop. Then it will have high tone. A blaze syllable can have any tone, but the tone it's assigned depends on the surrounding consonants. Some rules:
If the blaze syllable is open, its tone will be high, unless it begins with a voiced consonant, in which case the tone will be low.
A syllable with one vowel that ends in a voiceless stop will have high tone.
Otherwise, a syllable with a voiced consonant onset will have low tone. The sole exception is a syllable beginning with a voiced consonant that has two vowels and a voiceless stop coda. That syllable will have low tone on the first vowel and high on the second (unless the VV sequence results in a monophthong, in which case the tone is high).
Sequences of two vowels generally have a high-low sequence. The same goes for phonologically long monophthongs.
Coda fricatives will drag tone down.
VV sequences in blaze syllables reduce to singletons in smolder syllables when syllable type shifts in a word (e.g. due to affixation).
And that's all there is to it! It might seem tough to pronounce some sequences we don't have in English, but once you let yourself go and lean into it, it's kind of fun! Jessie and I were both really pleased at how well it was carried off by the actors. They really did a great job!
Thanks for the ask!

Big Tech Goes Nuclear (1440) Amazon is investing $500M toward nuclear power to meet the rising energy demands of its data centers and artificial intelligence initiatives. Yesterday’s announcement comes two days after Google unveiled plans to purchase nuclear power and less than a month after Microsoft said it would reopen the Three Mile Island planthome to the worst nuclear accident in US history—to fuel its AI efforts. Nuclear power accounts for 19% of US electricity generation and comes from energy released when the nucleus of a heavy atom splits into lighter atoms. While expensive and potentially hazardous, proponents pitch nuclear power as a clean alternative to greenhouse gas-emitting energy sources like coal, oil, and gas. Energy-intensive generative AI applications and data centers are expected to account for roughly 9% of total US power consumption by 2030.
Many schools are still closed weeks after Hurricane Helene. Teachers worry about long-term impact (AP) Tens of thousands of students in the Southeast are dealing with school disruptions after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc so severe—on homes, campuses and municipal power and water systems—that some districts have no idea when they will reopen. While virtual learning helped during the COVID-19 school closures, that has not been an option for this crisis because internet and cellphone service has remained spotty since the storm struck in late September. In hard-hit western North Carolina, some districts warn students will miss up to a month of school, and others say they can’t yet determine a timeline for returning to classrooms. “I feel like a month is a lot, but it’s not something that can’t be overcome,” said Marissa Coleman, who has sent her four children to stay with grandparents in Texas because their home in North Carolina’s Buncombe County has no running water. “But if we get further into Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s like, how are they actually going to make this up?”
Anguilla has turned the AI boom into a digital gold mine (AP) The artificial intelligence boom has benefited chatbot makers, computer scientists and Nvidia investors. It’s also providing an unusual windfall for Anguilla, a tiny island in the Caribbean. The British territory was allotted control of the .ai internet address in the 1990s. It was one of hundreds of obscure top-level domains assigned to individual countries and territories based on their names. While the domains are supposed to indicate a website has a link to a particular region or language, it’s not always a requirement. Google uses google.ai to showcase its artificial intelligence services while Elon Musk uses x.ai as the homepage for his Grok AI chatbot. Startups like AI search engine Perplexity have also snapped up .ai web addresses. Anguilla’s earnings from web domain registration fees quadrupled last year to $32 million, fueled by the surging interest in AI. The income now accounts for about 20% of Anguilla’s total government revenue.
Is Brazil’s Supreme Court Saving Democracy or Threatening It? (NYT) Daniel Silveira, a policeman turned far-right Brazilian congressman, was furious. He believed Brazil’s Supreme Court was persecuting conservatives and silencing them on social media, and he wanted to do something about it. So he sat on his couch and began recording. “How many times have I imagined you getting beat up on the street,” he said in a 19-minute diatribe against the court’s justices. He posted the video on YouTube in February 2021, adding, “I’ll say what I want on here.” A Brazilian Supreme Court justice immediately ordered his arrest. A year later, 10 of the court’s 11 justices convicted and sentenced him to nearly nine years in prison for threatening them. Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil’s president at the time, pardoned Mr. Silveira, but the Supreme Court overruled him. Today, Mr. Silveira remains in prison. There is no room for appeal past the Supreme Court. Mr. Silveira’s case is part of a creeping institutional crisis for Brazil. For the past five years, the nation’s Supreme Court has expanded its power to carry out a sweeping campaign to protect Brazilian institutions from attacks, many of them online. To the Brazilian left, the offensive has helped rescue Brazil’s democracy. To the right, it has made the court a threat to democracy itself.
France's Macron calls for an end to arms exports used in Gaza and Lebanon (Reuters) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron are getting into a mud-slinging fight for all the world to see. Last week, Macron called for an arms embargo on Israel, saying that the country needed to find a political solution to its issues in Gaza and Lebanon. Netanyahu responded with an angry video posted on X, calling Macron (and others calling for an arms embargo on Israel) a “disgrace.” On Tuesday (this week), Macron reportedly made statements during a closed-door meeting with French ministers, saying that Netanyahu should not “ignore United Nations decisions” because “his country was created by a U.N. decision.” Israel has repeatedly called for the dismantling of UNRWA, the UN agency that provides aid for Palestinian refugees, and is looking to pass legislation barring the organization from operating in Israeli territory—a decision the UNRWA warns will essentially “disintegrate” its services in Gaza and the West Bank. Israeli soldiers have also targeted U.N. peacekeepers in Lebanon on multiple occasions since the IDF’s ground invasion of the country began earlier this month. Netanyahu clapped back at Macron soon after his statements, saying, “It was not the U.N. resolution that established the State of Israel, but rather the victory achieved in the War of Independence with the blood of heroic fighters, many of whom were Holocaust survivors—including from the Vichy regime in France.”
Zelenskyy outlines his ‘victory plan’ to Ukraine’s lawmakers (Politico) Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy unveiled his grand “victory plan” to Ukraine’s parliament. It’s made up of five main points and three secret annexes—we’re not privy to the annexes, but here are the five main points: an invitation to join NATO, a larger and faster supply of Western weapons with no restrictions on their use, a non-nuclear strategic deterrence package, deals which would trade Ukraine’s energy resources for money up front, and the possibility of U.S. forces training with battle-hardened Ukrainian forces after the war. Kyiv’s Western allies have not met the plan with the enthusiasm Ukraine might have been expecting. Meanwhile, Russia is getting a new infusion of troops. According to a senior Ukrainian military intelligence official, Russia has gathered over 3,000 North Koreans to fight in Ukraine. Russia disputes this and it’s unconfirmed.
Monsoon flooding closes schools and offices in India’s southern IT hubs (AP) Schools, colleges and government offices were shut Wednesday in parts of southern India as heavy monsoon rains triggered severe flooding. The worst-hit cities included Chennai and Bengaluru, the country’s industrial and information technology hubs. Power cuts and flight cancellations caused disruption, and thousands of residents prepared for more downpours over the next 48 hours. The June-September monsoon season has receded in northern parts of the country. However, the northeast monsoon has brought heavy rains to coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and southern Karnataka state. At least 33 people died last month in rains and floods.
For Working Women in India, Staying Safe Can Feel Like a Full-Time Job (WSJ) When Ajita Topo, a cook in an affluent neighborhood in Delhi, leaves work in the evening, she holds her bag like a shield against her chest, keeps her fists clenched and carries a black umbrella with a very sharp end to ward off a possible attack. She makes sure to wear lots of layers—no matter how hot it is—to deter someone from trying to grope her chest, and secures her bun with a sharp metal stick as an additional weapon. Topo isn’t being paranoid. Last year, she was followed by two men when she left work after 10 p.m. She managed to scare them away by shouting as she passed homes with guards outside. “Workplace, public transport, public places, we feel safe nowhere,” said Topo, the sole breadwinner for her two children. “The only solution is to stay alert at all times.” For many women in India, taking steps to ward off a violent attack—and reassuring their families they are safe while at work and on their commutes—is an invisible form of labor that is a central element of their work life. The killing and rape of a trainee doctor in the city of Kolkata in August was a fresh reminder for Indian women who work of the dangers lurking in public spaces where women are far less visible than men.
Where a Million Desperate People Are Finding Shelter in Lebanon (NYT) At dusk, the parking lot of Tripoli’s Quality Inn is packed with cars and families milling about. Children’s shouts fill the air, reminding some of better times, when the hotel hosted weddings and birthdays parties. Now, though, the cars in the lot are dusty and battered, the families sit on patches of grass, their faces worn with worry, and the children play in a drained swimming pool. That is because the Quality Inn has been transformed into one of the biggest shelters in Tripoli for displaced Lebanese fleeing Israeli bombing in the country’s south. In Lebanon, the displaced are practically everywhere. In Beirut, the capital, where many are staying, they have set up makeshift tents on the corniche by the sea, crafting shelters out of stray metal poles, bits of awnings and blankets. In the city’s parks and squares, some families have placed floor coverings on the ground, anchoring them with cases of water and folded blankets. Others are taking shelter anywhere that they can, mostly in schools but also in unfinished buildings. Of a population of around six million, including about two million Syrian refugees, just over one million people have been forced from their homes by the bombings, the United Nations and the Lebanese authorities say.
IDF says it killed top Hamas leader (Politico) The Israel Defense Force confirmed it has killed top Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the lead architect of the Oct. 7 attack and the No. 1 target of its yearlong campaign in Gaza. Details of Sinwar’s death remain sketchy, but he appears to have been killed in an operation in southern Gaza that was not specifically targeting him. It is unclear what effect, if any, Sinwar’s death will have on the future of Israel’s campaign in Gaza, let alone on the newly emerging front against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Israeli attacks on aid convoys in Gaza persist, U.N. says (Washington Post) Israeli troops have opened fire on U.N. aid convoys to northern Gaza at least four times in three months, according to U.N. and other humanitarian officials, damaging the vehicles and narrowly missing staff members inside. On Sept. 9, the officials said, the Israeli army held a convoy involved in the United Nations’ polio response at gunpoint for 7½ hours, claiming that several people in the vehicles were wanted men. They were questioned and eventually allowed to proceed. “They basically surrounded our vehicles, pointing assault rifles at our cars, and they were shouting that we’re terrorists,” said one U.N. staffer. U.N. officials describe the Sept. 9 incident as emblematic of an environment of mistrust, in which Israeli soldiers, many of them reservists, command significant power at the checkpoints that humanitarian workers must cross to enter northern Gaza and face few consequences for their actions.
Why Big Pharma refuses to take on the threat of antibiotic-resistant germs (Die Zeit/Germany) Some 40 million people will die from antibiotic-resistant germs in the next 25 years, according to the latest estimate. All reasonable experts agree: New medicines must be developed urgently, otherwise we will face the threat of living in a post-antibiotic era, an era in which people die from simple infections because doctors can no longer treat them. Yet although the problem and solutions are obvious, there are very few new antibiotics in the research pipelines of the big pharmaceutical companies. More and more companies are even closing down their antibiotics divisions. The reason? Antibiotics are not profitable. Poor countries are not lucrative sales markets. Companies would rather focus on another cancer drug that marginally improves the prognosis for lung cancer; another cholesterol-lowering drug that is slightly more effective than its predecessor and is so inexpensive to develop that it brings in billions without any major risks; or yet another anticoagulant. And so billions of dollars in development costs are spent on drugs that have little impact on people’s health, while virtually nothing is spent on developing drugs that could save millions of lives.

The TESCREAL acronym is bad because it puts excessive focus on fairly unimportant aesthetic and occultish curiosities and ignores the actual ideological baggage of the vague movement it identifies. The vague movement does exist and is probably worth naming but I think Rationalism worked just fine despite the ambiguity. The various apocalyptic prophecies and cosmologies and rituals and vocabulary quirks are easy to sneer at but they don't really tell you what the ideology is or if it's bad.
The reason they name Transhumanism and Extropianism and Singularitarianism is pretty obvious, it's a geneaology of Yuddism. And Yud is certainly worth discussing, both because of his role as a nucleus for the movement and because he was somehow let into Time Magazine to call for unilateral air strikes on datacenters and such. But if you want to say Yuddism you could probably just say that. Bringing Cosmism into it seems especially strange, sure it developed some ideas that rhyme but then so did Mormonism. Suspect that one's there just for the russophobia, honestly.
Rationalism and Effective Altruism are the main brands under which the subculture can be found. From what I can tell the overlap between these groups is massive (I would guess it's roughly similar to the overlap you would find between, say, the Catholic Church and a Catholic charity) so it makes sense to consider them together. I've seen the connection denied, which I suspect to be merely a manifestation of the standard Rationalist escape from terms (post-rat, post-post-rat, rat-adj, tpot, etc). It doesn't really matter though, if the overlap exists then you can just say Rationalism, and if it doesn't there's no point to a term. Longtermism is just a branch/faction of Effective Altruism that skips the Altruism part.
If you really wanted to create a novel term then I think the best place to start would be with the actual intellectual influences of the movement. The main beliefs that repeatedly crop up throughout Rationalist thought can broadly be characterized as Positivism, Utilitarianism, Neoliberal and Austrian Economics, and Sociobiology. This is combined with great interest in and optimism for technology, especially "AI" but also various forms of biotechnology. The reason these ideas tend to be popular among Rationalists is that they promise quantitative explanations and possibly exploitations of complex phenomena dense with qualitative evaluations.
Rationalists also have unusual epistemic commitments, strong group identity, and jargon, well beyond what is typical of fandoms and ideologies, their closest peers as collectives. This makes them somewhat vulnerable to cult formation. In my opinion it also explains some of the strange behavior of certain ex-rationalists (including Emile Torres by the way). It can also make them rather frustrating to argue with on occasion.
#honestly I'm not sure why Rationalists aren't more into Cliodynamics#my take on Rationalism is that it's basically Libertarian Trotskyist TVTropes

@utallige awakened me (Yuuki)
━━━━━━━✾✾✾ As Ai sauntered through the gates, a sense of somberness cocooned her. The hushed timbres of mourners conversing, delicate aroma of incense and the sight of solemn countenances besmeared the atmosphere. She made her way down the aisle, passing rows of unobstructed chairs leading to the open casket bedecked with white lilies and candles. Ai’s nucleus was heavy with torment as she persisted beside her precious mother, paying her respects to the man who had shaped her life in various manners. Reminiscences of his passionate smile, compassionate guidance, and obstinate love besieged her mind. Cross was a remarkable being. “He told me that I’m very identical to grandma.“ Juri and Ai owned tangible similitudes. ”Do you think so too?“ Future princess was doing her utmost to not cry.

Multimedia BlurayDisk-pack (WIP mess)
That is it, I shall study my long overdue textual content threads / audio playlists / visual moodboards into a multimedia BD compilation for visualization and manifesting purposes. I still want to divide it into a audio media, a video media, a interactive game media and a documentation wiki media... but I guess I would be best just to mash them into Bluray media as data with K3B or something similar...

Kujhikoslan, the Complete Grammar Guide
Of all the groups in Strelles, the Fox Skulks were the first societies to approach the Sky Kingdoms upon realizing that they had made generous strides in preserving and recovering the Old Tongues. Their language is deeply precious to them and though they respect the decision of the gods to stop the meaningless aggression all species directed at each other, they’re pleased to see that the gods agreed with them reclaiming their Tongues once they understood the point that was being made.
Given that the skulks were the first to invent a written variant of their language, they were among the easiest to rebuild once they could understand the markings and managed to break it down. As such, it’s considered to be the tongue closest to its Old Form before the Connection - something they take great pride in. This means that much like the Sky Kingdoms, the language isn’t exclusive to any rank or position but rather, an inherent part of living within the skulks.
---
Part 1: Phonology and Phonetics
---
Kujhikoslan has 19 official consonant sounds;
The squiggly lines are where the pronunciation of the sound isn’t quite set in stone. The skulks towards the west use /ʤ/ instead of /ʧ/.
And there are 5 vowel sounds:

Compounds:
---
Part 3: Animacy Based Noun Classes
--
Kujhikoslan has simply tri-class animacy system. The hierarchy is very basically animate, semi-animate and inanimate objects.
The Animate Class is usually fairly obvious - it’s moving, breathing things like fellow creatures and most plants that grow rapidly such as flowers. The Inanimate Class is equally obvious consisting mostly of things such as trees, rocks, mud and certain creatures that a skulk can be stubborn about.
The Semi Animate Class is for things granted a degree of life from their religious beliefs.
Animate Examples (-(r)a) - Jhiko (fox), Kis (cat), Tciri (a partner bird)
Semi Animate Examples (-(m)e) - Ansel (wind),
Inanimate Examples (-(h)a)) - Komok (rock), Hiyil (river)
When put into practice, the animacy system applies to and affects numerals and adjectives.
Ainra kis - one cat Arume ansel - blue wind Ainhal hiyil - one river
---
Part 4: Grammatical Number
---
Much like Adovusala, the skulks of strelles have a rather simple grammatical number system. Only a singular/plural divide leaving the singular bare - jhiiko (fox) - and adding the prefix ku- to make it plural - kujhiko (foxes).
---
Part 5: Tense and Aspect
---
There are four tenses and aspects in Kujhikoslan the same as Adovusala, there are also four tenses in this language. The four aspects are the perfective, habitual, continuous and pausative aspects - the four tenses being distant past, past, present and future tenses.
Here’s the example word;
In the second and third persons, the animacy hierarchy triggers agreement on the verbs.
Asla - to speak (animate) Aslamri - to speak (semi animate) Aslaso - to speak (inanimate)
These agreements are meant to emphasize what’s happening - generally speaking, rocks don’t speak and ergo, the agreement is meant to confirm that yes, this improbable interpretation is indeed what this sentence means.
Hel kis aslar ir hel ansel - the cat speaks to the wind
In this situation, the cat is the one doing the speaking and ergo, the word used is aslar.
Hel anser aslamrir ir hel kis - the wind speaks to the cat
Now here, it’s the wind speaking to a cat. In this case, it’s assumed that the wind is actually a spirit of a sort, whispering to the cat rather than the actual wind itself.
Hel komok aslasor ir hel kis - the rock speaks to the cat
Same situation as the previous sentence except even more unbelievable to the listener - rocks rarely speak if ever, so a speaking rock is typically interpreted as a trapped spirit or even a demon.
---
Part 6: Pronouns
---
Now unlike the language of the packs, Kujhikoslan doesn’t have a system of honorifics making their pronouns much simpler than Adovusala;
The possessives unfortunately get a little bit more complicated than that as the skulks differentiate between alienable and inalienable objects.
Alienable Nouns are things you have a choice over owning and can be divorced from you such as a food or an adornment. Meanwhile, Inalienable nouns are things that can’t be divorced from the person such as a blood relations and your species.
---
Part 7: Articles and Demonstratives
---
The articles and demonstratives of Kujhikoslan are very simple with definite articles and indefinite articles for a specific thing and a broad thing. Unlike other languages however, the articles are divided up into the three animacy classes;
Hel is the definite articles are;
Ma anser - the wind Ke kommok - the rock Hel bero - the dog
And the indefinite articles are;
Ya bero - a dog Lu neco - an egg El kommok - a rock
The demonstratives have been left alone in the distinction with only a near/far difference;
Yel bero - this dog Sul bero - that dog

Roi Aknin's 'We're In The Same Boat' - A Ballad of Resilience in the Face of Adversity Maybe AI can write music, but it’s not great with tears. Roi Aknin, a songwriter who invites the algorithm to the party yet keeps the emotional nucleus strictly human, has dropped “We’re In The Same Boat (Don’t Let Us Drown),” and it feels less like a song and more like that moment when the rain decides it’s done just drizzling. https://open.spotify.com/track/3Mm300FDJhsQSvVngugH2G?si=48efd6770b084da5 It’s a ballad, sure, but let’s kick the museum description out of this boat before it gets too heavy. Aknin’s voice rises like a gust before an incoming storm. Her vocals float above the kind of pop-intensity that has you thinking, “It’s probably fine,” then suddenly you’re gripping the railing hoping it holds. There’s tension and release here. It’s soaked in grief but not in an indulgent, ‘everything is meaningless’ kind of way. Instead, it’s anchored in the human need to cling to something while the water rises. [caption id="attachment_57698" align="alignnone" width="1536"] Roi Aknin's 'We're In The Same Boat' - A Ballad of Resilience in the Face of Adversity[/caption] The theme is harder to shake off than that song your friend claims nobody else knows about. One year post a national wound—the October 7 attack on Israel—it becomes more than echoes of personal hardship. It’s collective, a human bond, not romantic, but real—when the world cracked and some were left asking how to stay above the surface. Sure, AI might assist in assembling the puzzle, but there's blood in these pixels. The words swim through layers of loss and connection, while somehow suggesting that even in this shared, sinking ship, the human spirit remains stubborn—buoyant even, like, how the hell did we make it this far? And that’s the kicker. You don’t walk away unscathed, but you don’t drown either. Aknin doesn’t let you. Follow Roi Aknin on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

I'm immediately tempted to change the story name.
I went with "Raspberry Forethought Nucleus" because it's the three-word code, like I said, but specifically that because "RFN" could stand for "right fucking now" and I enjoyed that and didn't want something quite so obvious and taken as "whiskey tango foxtrot."
But I do want the phrase to crop up several times later in the book, and it just feels clunky, too many syllables. So I experimented a little and went with SOL because anyone who has pushed the security team to the point of enabling the very obedient AI into mercing fools has lost all favor with fortune. There's a more intimidating aspect to it I like, and I wanted the words to just be two syllables again.
So now the working title is "Syntax Optic Lockdown," which just rolls off the tongue so much more nicely and even has words that sound cool and relate to the AI, which I liked. But then, I also really liked "Raspberry," so. We'll see
