i feel like fandom people love to put characters into archetypal family roles, especially like "adoptive parent", and it's so fucking annoying because half the time the characters in question are not parental at all, and should not under any circumstances act in a parent capacity. they just have a meaningful intergenerational friendship/mentorship and that's inconceivable

(Now when I think about it, this serious punch is extremely fucking scary and extremely lethal and yes, very shocking...but it lacks cold, calculated, murderous willpower to kill. Saitama never wanted to truly kill Garou, because it went against everything he stood for and he held that sentiment to the very end.)

Killing his emotional side is the only way Saitama could muster enough willpower to actually murder something in cold blood. Since he does not like violence and so does not revel in it.
