OK, fair warning to the few people I actually managed to convince to try the game??

Rain world does NOT play like hollow knight, and you'll get your butt kicked if you approach it like that.

It's really hard. Like, really hard. Instead of the game literally giving you abilities in the form of power-ups and damage buffs, the only abilities you gain is from what you learn and your own ingenuity. You're a rat from beginning to end. If you just beef your way through it, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be confused and frustrated all the time. But if you pay attention, take it slow, and learn how the ai works and how everything interacts with each other, you can consistently get through and dominate situations you thought were impossible to do so when you first began. Now get out there, kill some lizards, and bully some old computers!

much like buck i have not thought that far ahead so i don't have a snippet for you, alas. however, at some point tommy gets a boyfriend, buck is Very Normal about it (aka he steals the firetruck to hook up on shift). the boyfriend doesn't last that long but maybe buck starts to get the slightest hint of an inkling around this time.

one thing the snippets to date haven't really shown is that they are friends (actual verging on normal friends). like academy buck crashes at tommy's place so he can get some studying done, they go on hikes together etc etc and probably one day post-breakup tommy is lamenting that while he is great at getting laid now (thank you, evan) he actually misses couple stuff, like cuddling on the couch and kisses just for the sake of it and buck (internally, probably) is like "but i can do that for you?????" and then probably at 3am the next day he bolts upright in bed and is like "wait a minute!!!"
