Author: Nora MurphyPublisher: Minotaur BooksReleased: May 31, 2022Received: NetGalleyWarnings: Domestic violence/abuse Nora Murphy’s debut novel, The Favor, is domestic suspense with a dash of psychological thriller. So idea I got from Milo Murphy's Law episode Sercets and Pies.(One of the character zach was part of a lumberjack themed boyband) What if Jaune in his pre-teen and early teens was part of a boy band? The theming could anything. It be funny if it got his band popular at Beacon and he had a bunch of fangirls later.(Jeaulous Pyrrha or Nora since I know you like Nora's Arc)
Woman: FOUR JS! I HAVE YOUR WRIST BANDS!
Jaune: No way...
John: Over here!
Jaune: John?!
John: Oh, hey, Jaune!
Jaune: What are you guys doing here? It's great to see you, Joan, Jean, and Jorge here!
John: Actually, they changed their names to John.
Jaune: Oh, uh, hi, Johns. How you guys doing?
Johns: FINE.
John: So, you competing today?
Jaune: Kinda, I guess? I mean, it's just a gig for us.
John: That's great. I admire stiff competition.
Jaune: Uh, no, we're not really looking to win.
John: I hear ya, dude! I'm digging the rivalry!
Jaune: Oh, no. No rivalry here.
John: Ah, a little reverse psych, right?
Jaune: What- No! I'm not- Forget it. How have you guys been?
John: Great! We've got a new album, a couple music videos, and a set of action figures with glow-in-the-dark Js! It's our theme. How have you been?
Jaune: Pretty good. Got to Beacon, became team leader, made some friends.
John: Oh, I'm so sorry to hear how hard it's been for you.
Jaune: What? No, no. Nothing hard about me.
John: That's it! Let those hard times fuel you!
Jaune: ...Y'know what? I gotta get back to my team.
John: Don't beat yourself up too bad. Second place isn't too bad for an amateur musician.
Jaune: ALRIGHT! ALRIGHT! (Storms off)
----------------------------------------------------------
Jaune: It all started... nine years ago- ago- ago- ago.
Ren: ...Sorry. I had the reverb on.
Jaune: It all started nine years ago.
Jaune: The Five Js were on top. We toured shopping districts, farmers markets, dust stations, everywhere we could in our Valtralasgeriecuo home. We sang together, we danced together-
Nora: You wore Js on your chest together!
Jaune: Pretty much.
Pyrrha: So how did it end?
Jaune: Not great. When I left, they didn't have it in them to say Good-bye... So they said, "See you later" instead. And now, they all changed their names to John!
Ren: Why is that an issue?
Jaune: When I was in charge, I didn't make them change their names to Jaune!
Pyrrha: Did you want them to?
Jaune: No, but that's not the point! We need to step up our game!
Nora: But I thought you said we should just relax and... something... I dunno, there was a squirrel and I got distracted.
Jaune: Well, we need to crack down! Nora, pick up those drumsticks! Pyrrha, pick up that triangle!
Pyrrha: Okay, but I'm not taking your first name.
Jaune: And Ren, those funky beats won't play themselves!
Ren: Actually, with this automatic function on speaker system, they can-
Jaune: Tell me later! We gotta focus!
----------------------------------------------------------
Jaune: Do you have any secrets?
Nora: Actually, I do! See, this isn't my real face. You see, I'm really... A ROBOT!
Jaune: (Runs away with Pyrrha)
Nora: (Chasing them) I AM A ROBOT! I AM A ROBOT!
Nora: Jaune?
Jaune: Huh? What?
Nora: You were zoned out for a second. Don't you want to hear me secret?
Jaune: Yeah, you said it wasn't your real face?
Nora: Yeah. See, my real face is... A ROBOT!
Pyrrha: (Runs away with Jaune)
Nora: (Chasing them) I AM A ROBOT! I AM A ROBOT!
Pyrrha: Nora? Nora!
Nora: Oh! Sorry! I was distracted again.
Jaune: So what's your big secret? What did you mean by that this wasn't your real face.
Nora: Oh, I meant this! (Pops out glass eye) I lost my eye playing with a Beowolf.
Pyrrha: Ooh~!
Jaune: (Runs away in terror, Slams into door)
----------------------------------------------------------
Pyrrha: (Tears through Vale on Bumblebee)
Pyrrha: (Jumps thru Dragonslayer billboard)
Nora: ...Wow, that's some cool 3D.

Oh my god thank you so much for that reply! That was absolutely brilliant and verbalised everything that had been perlocating in my brain about them, it's really so brilliant that the show basically sprung an incredibly compelling dynamic between 2 charcaters who've barely interacted and who have lots of awkward tension between them, and had one of the series' most tender moments happen between them in its last episodes (Nora/Erica is also a relationship I like to fill the gaps in in my head) I just finished the show so I'm full of thoughts and the fandom is nonexistent so thank you for being so kind
nora + the women she has this bond with = best most interesting dynamics on the show. the way nora and erika also have to go through a period of intense hatred before they're willing to accept each other. the way erika was the only person nora told about her tattoo and breaking her arm. like its so serious. i think nora's instinctive reaction to other people's loss is anger, because she automatically believes its a competition of who has lost more. once she's able to see past that there's a level of intimacy she experiences with both erika and laurie, trusting them with her ugly and destructive truths...

The Bob's Burgers Movie
Tumblr media
Movies watched in 2024
The Bob's Burgers Movie (2022, USA)
Directors: Loren Bouchard & Bernard Derriman
Writers: Loren Bouchard & Nora Smith
Mini-review:
I've been a casual watcher of Bob's Burgers for a while now, and I felt like it was finally time to see the movie. The show's stories have always been pretty low-key and low-stakes, so I was curious to find out how they would translate that into a feature length film. And they actually pulled it off! Sure, this time the plot has a bigger scope, but it still feels plausible within the show's universe. And most importantly, the movie keeps all the humor and heart that makes the show so lovable and compelling. I must admit it was a bit weird to see these characters and settings with big-budget animation and film-style cinematography, but once you get used to that, it feels as warm and genuine as ever. To sum up, if you have ever enjoyed this show (even as a casual watcher like me), then you can't miss out on the movie version.

Andrew Scott's beloved mum Nora has sadly passed away.
The news comes just days before Mother's Day, which takes place on Sunday, March 10.
Nora's official obituary reads: 'It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Nora Scott (née Boyle), beloved wife of Jim, mother of Sarah, Andrew and Hannah.'
Nora is said to have passed away 'peacefully' on Thursday, March 7, 'surrounded by her loving family and best friend Anne.'
Her obituary continues: 'Nora will be deeply missed by her beloved husband Jim, her loving children Sarah, Andrew and Hannah, much loved daughter-in-law Janine, sisters Gertrude and Molly and brother Andrew, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephew, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.'
Andrew has yet to comment on the news of his mum Nora's passing, whose funeral will take place on Tuesday, March 11.
It comes just days before the Dublin native is set to show his support for his fellow Irish actor Cillian Murphy, who has been nominated for awards at the 2024 Oscars.
Unfortunately, Andrew and his All of Us Strangers co-star Paul Mescal did not receive a nod at the prestigious awards ceremony; however, Cillian is up for Best Actor for his role as the title character in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer.'

The sun had long set
The sun had long set. The companions had all found themselves at the bar in the entrance of Sanctuary. The time had long passed, much more time than they could think.
Nora slid her gaze over each individual face, examining every single friend in detail.
Preston and Sturges are no longer hidden and are now close to each other, with Mama Murphy between this strange couple, a mixture of shyness and pride.
Then Danse's puppy-like eyes light up with pleasure as he share a beer with her, no longer in his power armor.
Then came Valentine, her very best friend. His bad hand was possessively close on the shoulder of his girlfriend Sarah, while his good hand swayed the tip of his beer - made by Sturges with oil - which no longer had black paint in it for the day.
Strong, he takes all the couches added in front of her office just for his own purpose, even if Shaun likes to tag along.
Cait, sit on the armrest beside Preston, and send him a couple of fists from time to time when he tries to scold her.
With X6-88 standing by her side, he was the last to arrive at the place. He had just disembarked from Diamond City with a special package that was as hidden as his thoughts, even from his "mother".
On the other side of the little corner belonging to the companions, MacCready has been keeping his son - who is also best buddy of Shaun - at arm's length since he brought him back home.
Nat kept her fingers laced in the short red hair of the teen, having already settled things between them. Like his father, who kept a wary eye for strangers but a warm heart for those close to him, Duncan had shyly accepted it all, all tato of his ears.
And lingering behind them, with his arm around Piper's waist all giggles for now, is Hancock, the handsome king-of-zombie-like second-best buddy in the heart of Nora.
And... And as far as Nora searched in the closed place, she couldn't catch sight of her brother-of-heart.
Yeah, there is no trace of Deacon, for the second time in two days.
The sun had long set and the alcohol may have flowed, but the day was not over yet. She could have thought better than avoid a new crisis.
Because in her little heaven, suddenly the hell is raised by loud noise and flashing lights.
All the companions were on war footing the second they heard the first detonation, and as Piper closed her arms protectively around the youngest, they all threw themselves onto the street.
That's when the sky was transformed into a flashing hell for the second time, with the blossoming explosion from another world.
No, not a mess, but a beautiful explosion of colors and lights.
As Deacon laughs welcomed them and the shouts for action were replaced by aww of admiration, she came at his side.
"How in the world have you find fireworks?"
He take the time to details all the faces upped toward the night sky then whispered a long adventure in her ear.
She couldn't help but laugh as the childrens ran their lives on the street, just as the adults had done minutes before.
This was the worst lie Nora had never heard.
"Happy 3rd April Fool's Day," said Deacon with a smile.
"Happy Deacon's festivities," she said back, clasping his waist and resting her head on his shoulder to immerse herself in the spectacle.
The sun had long set.

Susan Lynch and Ewan McGregor in Nora (Pat Murphy, 2000)
Cast: Susan Lynch, Ewan McGregor, Andrew Scott, Peter McDonald, Roberto Citran, Vinnie McCabe, Veronica Duffy, Pauline McLynn, Aedin Moloney. Screenplay: Pat Murphy, Gerard Stembridge, based on a book by Brenda Maddox. Cinematography: Jean-François Robin. Production design: Alan Macdonald. Film editing: Pia Di Ciaula. Music: Stanislas Syrewicz. A rather muddled and unsatisfactory account of the domestic life of James Joyce (Ewan McGregor) and Nora Barnacle (Susan Lynch), adapted by Murphy and Gerard Stembridge from Brenda Maddox's excellent biography, Nora. There's not enough narrative drive in this account of their lives up to the publication of Dubliners in 1914. Mostly the film deals with the squabblings of the pair, who while mismatched intellectually had a kind of irresistible attraction to each other. The movie seems to be aimed at viewers with a ready knowledge of Joyce's life and work, especially the cultural and familial pressures that drove him into a life of exile from Ireland, but anyone who already possesses that knowledge is likely to be frustrated by what appears on screen. Lynch is excellent in the title role, but McGregor never penetrates to the essence of the brilliant, self-tormenting genius of Joyce.
