Disabled & Need Help While Waiting for SSA Decision

Hi, it's time for yet another one of these. I'm disabled and US Social Security has been kicking me around their system for a couple of years, now. I spoke to a judge in November, and was told I'd get a decision, but it's been more than 5 weeks now and I'm still waiting.

I have no choice but to keep asking people online to help me cover the monthly bills that my partner can't afford to cover, which are about $200.

I would really appreciate any help that I could get honestly because it’s been an extremely hard 5 years. I was trying to raise money when I was 19 but…I have trouble asking for help without feeling undeserving or just idk like I shouldn’t be? but I can’t keep acting like I can do all of this by myself because I can’t when I literally have no support whatsoever.

it’s just been a constant battle between my disability affecting my work, my managers not taking it seriously, just getting out of this horribly manipulative relationship, my sister being being completely unsupportive, dismissive, and starving me, my mother passing, familial issues, dangerous environments, discrimination at the workplace and just it’s just been a lot. and I’ve been trying my best to survive and make amends meet.

I’ve been trying to survive through sex work, forcing myself to work, and even starting up a bracelet business. but my last most recent job I had, I was having an epilepsy flare up, I tried to tell my manager that I don’t think I can stay my whole shift, she begged me to stay I tried to and almost fell out at my job so I walked out and got fired for that. she also implied that she felt like because my ex bf at the time was standing in the lobby waiting for me? that she had “knew what was really going on” so..she didn’t even take my condition seriously whatsoever when my eyes were visibly rolling back, hands trembling, knees bucking, just all of that in front of her.

Then the other job I had before that one was Meijers. I was having issues with my bf at the time and we were having sexual issues where I kept having to have appointments back to back to make sure I was sexually safe while also having to deal with him blaming me for these said issues. They had a 90 day probation where u can’t call off too much once you first start working there. so I was giving them notes for my appointments. I remember one day I tried to give them a note and my manager told me she didn’t need it (definitely concerned me) I believe I asked her why, she just brushed me off. but long story short I had ended up getting sick tried to tell my manager I couldn’t make it she also begged me to come in so I came in forced myself to work while sick got super dizzy knees got weak and I ended up falling out on the floor at my job where everyone could see. this frequently happens with my jobs where I’m quitting due to mistreatment & transphobia and it’s made it so extremely hard for me to even keep up with my bracelet business because that was going decently, hard to keep up with a steady job and consistent income.

hi! hate to make a post like this yet again BUT this will absolutely be the last time that I have to because FINALLY my friend Sadie and I are moving far away from her abusive mother that we currently live with and in with my partner!! Right now, i'm currently the only one working between the two of us, and with a lot of my funds going to buying food + ubers just getting to/from work, and with my job giving me extremely shit hours, I haven't been able to save any money.

Our move in date is tentatively the 25th of next month, and we could use any help right now with just having some funds till we get settled in and start working + funds for a u-haul and other things we need since we're also moving to a new state. Hello everyone. I feel very embarrassed to have to make a post, but I’m dealing with some urgent dental issues that need to be treated ASAP.

I have two teeth that need root canals. The molar tooth might need to be extracted and done as an implant, but I won’t know until they look at it. I also have a bad cavity that formed last night (exposing some of my dentin) next to the other tooth that needs a root canal. Infection is starting to form bad in there, as well. I’m not currently in any pain, but I’ve been getting sick lately because of it.

Using the cost estimator for my dental insurance, the total [estimated] portion of my half for my treatments is going to be $1,455. This is including the two root canal costs, and the new cavity that formed. I’m going to see my dentist ASAP, so the total cost may be adjusted after he checks it out. That said, I believe that my estimate should be accurate.

I’m in a very bad financial situation where I can’t save up the money for the treatment. I’m almost $4,000 in debt, and struggling to crawl myself out of it while barely being able to pay for rent and bills. I’m not asking for assistance on that mess though.

I have a scheduled appointment on my birthday, on April 1st. However, I’m only going to be able to reschedule the appointment back by another month. I really don’t want to, though, because of my health being affected.

you've probably already seen a few of my posts floating around. in case you haven't, long story short; i lost my job several months ago and haven't been able to find another one willing to make accommodations for my disabilities. i have diabetes and need insulin every day to survive -- the price of that, along with my other medical necessities (medication, doctor copays, etc), makes simply existing very difficult. i've been relying on commission money and the generosity of others just to survive.

i am so tired of just surviving. i need serious help. i have a few very kind people willing to walk me through the process, but i desperately need out of my current living situation. it's a very toxic + abusive household that is stifling my ability to grow at all. i am in debt with no way to pay it off ($1,000) and i also need to somehow afford a car (which will be several thousands of dollars). just the thought is almost enough to paralyze me with fear. it's very very overwhelming. especially when nowhere in my small town wants to hire me. i have to do all of this before i can even consider moving out. i'm struggling to even keep myself alive, it's nearly impossible to save any money at all.

Hey it's the start of a new month so sadly I have to do this again.

I'm disabled and I'm waiting on US Social Security to hopefully approve my case for disability pay. I had a hearing about it a couple weeks ago, but the judge gave me no hints on how long it would take to hear back from the court as to whether I'm going to be approved or not.

That being said, I have bills I need to pay. My big stuff is covered by my partner who I live with, so I don't have to worry about rent and food too much, but I do need about $200 a month to pay bills that she can't afford to help me with.

It's June! It's Pride! It's (my) Birthday!

I'm a multiply-disabled queer person of color, a writer, artist, and photographer. I live with three of my best-good-pal-friends, (@renthony, @kryptidkhaos, and @natalieironside) and our collective army of pets.

We all know it's damned hard to be all these things at the same time under the capitalistic hellscape we're living under, and we/I am always in need of a lot of help with the existing.

I ended the month of May with some smaller bills left still to pay, but am thankful to say that June already had fewer bills than usual due, and the amount I need to start the summer off right is actually less than I was afraid it would be! Woohoo!

Writing

I write less often than I'd like, but I share poetry and shorts, when I have them, on my Patreon!

I've been exploring art, both analog and digital, a lot more lately, and have shared both process photos and final drafts on Patreon! Here are just a few examples:

I admittedly don't post on patreon as much as I wish I had the energy to, but I try to make at least one thing a month, provided I have the spoons and time.

Creativity is, like, a level 5 spell slot when you're disabled and impoverished, and I appear to have exactly One (1) of those available at any given time.

More than half of this, as always, is just for the car payment and insurance that keeps the regular day-job-haver getting to said job, and all our medical appointments, errands, etc.

I still owe around $13,000 total on Johnny Car, but I think we all know that's just not a real number.

The rest of the funds would go toward paying the small subscriptions, for my various medications, and the regular attempts to whittle away slowly at the $4,300 worth of other debt.

($2,200 of back taxes, and $2,100 of credit card debt, and gods, do I mean slowly. Interest piles up so much faster than I can seem to whittle.)

Since every dime that comes in goes primarily towards food and bills, there's little left afterward to be put towards other life necessities like clothes, toiletries, let alone things I just think would be nice/neat/nifty to have.

I have a High Priority wishlist. It's mostly art supplies, bulk toiletries, etc.

I'm woefully low on clothes, being short, fat, and trans, so very little of what I own actually feels good to wear so much as it simply covers my body. I have a wishlist of clothes that would be nice to have.

For everything that firmly lands under the "I just want it" category, I have an Enrichment list. It's mostly stuffies, but also games, room decor, hobby supplies, books, and stim toys.

Our household keeps a big wishlist for things we need, want, groceries, accessibility products, and everything in-between.
